Sydney Brooks sneaked out of Carlos Delmar’s bed eight months ago with her boots in hand. She’d a made a mistake--a big one. But when her best friend, Macy, is involved in a hit and run, and a mystery package arrives in the mail, her plan to avoid Carlos is thrown off balance. A hunt for the truth about her friend’s accident leads her to Chicago and inadvertently back into Carlos’ arms. Passion reignites and they both discover that what started between them isn't quite over. But is there time for romance when a threat from the past might end their lives before they can start over?
With an overactive imagination from an early age, Yvonne created vivid stories in her mind in which she was the lead character. It wasn't long before she decided to take these stories from her mind and pen them to paper.
A romantic at heart, Yvonne loves short stories and romantic suspense. She writes primarily about relationships. At first, she wrote only for herself. But out of her passion for writing evolved a collection of stories.
Yvonne has published two collections of short stories, "The Wedding and Other Short Romantic Stories," showcasing her romantic collection. "The Invitation and Other Short Stories," a dramatic collection.
Her debut romantic suspense novel, Hide 'N Seek is the first of her suspense novels.
Carlos Delmar returned to Chicago at his mother’s request after he’d run out eleven years prior, wanting to have nothing more to do with his drunken, abusive father. Now he was dead but it looked like his younger brother was heading in the same direction. When Carlos discovered what Raffy was into, he was determined to get him out of it. But would he be able to keep him alive?
When Carlos came face to face with Sydney Brooks again, he knew he had to keep it professional. They’d parted eight months prior and although his heart said otherwise, he wanted nothing to do with her. But they were tied together with the hit and run of Sydney’s best friend Macy, who was in hospital in a coma, with her distraught parents by her side. Could he help Sydney find the answers to Macy’s ‘accident’? And was Raffy mixed up in that as well?
Hit N Run is my first by Yvonne Harriott and I found it fast paced and fairly intense. There are some editing errors which need addressing, but overall the scenario was a good one. Sydney was a strong character in the main, though she made some mistakes and Carlos was a tough guy trying to do the right thing. Recommended.
