What happens when two broken men collide?

Marcus Prater has spent the last two years of his life existing, ignoring his friends and family because remembering hurts too much. Benjamin Danvers, running from ghosts of his own, has separated himself emotionally from the world. Neither man needs anyone.

When these two men collide again, one life hangs in the balance. Will it break them, or provide more healing than either man thought possible? Friends come together, brotherhood is confirmed, but will it be enough?

Yeah, this is the third in the six story cycle so no more nasty cliffhangers. Hot men may have sex, old friends may bond again, and a few tears may be shed. I promise, it was worth the wait. Oh, and look for Marcus and Benjamin again in August

T.A. Webb is the writing name for the Mean Old Bear That Could. He's worked with people living with HIV/AIDS and with children in the foster care system for over twenty years, and took the smaller pay for the chance to make a difference for those who can't help themselves. After hours, he's the proud single papa of two (now three) rescue dogs, was born and raised in Atlanta, where he still lives, and is a pretty darned good country cook.

His sister taught him to read when he was four, and he tore his way through the local library over the next few years. Always wanting more, he snuck a copy of The Exorcist under his parents' house to read when he was eleven and scared the bejesus out of himself. Thus began a love affair with books that skirt the edge, and when he discovered gay literature, he was hooked for life.

5+++++ STARS for what has been a Beautiful, Powerful, Intense, heartbreaking, heartwarming, hot as hell EXCELLENT series!!!

When I read a book from Tom Webb, I always feel there is an underlying element of the man himself that comes through, a warmth and flow that connects it all together and brings his words to life and Starry Knight is no different, it is another excellent book from the master of emotions that left me grabbing for the tissues at the end.

Starry Knight 9

I have been super excited to read this last book in the City Knight Trilogy and I have been beside myself with the excitement and anticipation, but at the same time sad, as this is the last one and I don’t really want to let these two characters that have found a place in my heart go.

Way back on February 14th of this year, by chance during my search for new releases, I stumbled on City Knight by T.A. Webb. Not an author I was familiar with but the blurb piqued my interest, so, as you do, I one clicked and commenced reading. A few pages in and I just knew I was going to love the book... but not only that, I had also found an author that I loved, who could completely suck me into the story and take me on a journey with his words alone, an author with immense talent and one that evoked a kaleidoscope of emotions through his writing.

I fell in love with Tom Webb that day and I just wanted to shout from the highest mountain, just how wonderful his writing is and tell everyone how fabulous the start to the City Knight series is. I am still waxing lyrical about Toms talent to any and all that will listen, and over the last few months as I have grown to know him, hand on heart I can tell you he is also a genuinely nice guy with a big heart.

In the previous two books in the series they were pretty action packed and intense, and had you constantly on the edge of your seat wondering where Mr Webb would take us next, but Starry Knight is completely different and we see a tentative relationship that had been based on very shaky foundations, with both men hesitant and a little afraid of what the future held for them, collect the shattered pieces, and together with the love they have for each other, they begin to heal the fragmented parts of their lives and no longer feel so lost and alone.

After the event from the last book we find Ben in a vigil by the side of Marcus’s hospital bed… willing him to stay alive and praying he will wake up. Having been shot and almost dying gave Marcus a whole new perspective on life… he did some soul searching, realising how his self imposed isolation since Jeremy’s death had hurt the friends who had been like brothers to him, family… the men that had his back no matter the issue, shunning all those who loved him the most, as they were a constant reminder of what he no longer had. Now with Ben in his life he had a reason to live, a purpose and we see Marcus open his heart, not only to Ben but also his friends for the the pain he had caused them through his grief, and he wanted to grab hold of it all and never let go again. The importance of friendship is prevalent in this last book and we again see the crossover of characters from the Pulp Friction series… and what a cast of characters they are, the banter and snarky humour had me laughing out loud… with our young Benjamin also coming out of his shell and joining in.

Starry Knight 7

The love between Marcus and Ben is totally selfless, they are secure enough in their feelings for each other not to be insecure or intimidated by their pasts… and it was quite beautiful to finally see these two at ease and despite the high octane start to the relationship they are finally completely comfortable with each other and what the future holds for them as a couple… and the ending… Oh. My. God… it was the perfect ending to what has been a truly wonderful series and I am hoping Tom will bring us more from these two adorable characters…. “With you it will never be the end” I am hoping that’s true……  Pleeeaaassee!!!!

We have the lovely Tom Webb with us over on our blog tomorrow... with an Interview and a Giveaway, WooHoo!!! my fangirl is dancing round the room!!!

Okay, looks like I managed to get it done a little early, so it released today instead on Amazon and ARe.

http://www.amazon.com/Starry-Knight-C...

https://www.allromanceebooks.com/prod...

This is the third in the three book cycle. I decided the remaining books this year will also feature Marcus and Benjamin, and will be more standalone. But...one never knows.

August 15th Knights Out
October 15th Knight of a Lifetime
Tentative December 15th Christmas Knight

Tom

Thanks to all the wonderful fans who love Marcus and his Benjamin and who have put up with their antics for five stories.

I have some news, which I hops you will like!

All four authors-Lee Brazil, Havan Fellows, Laura Harner and myself-are co-writing the last book in the series, tentatively titled "Odd Man Out", and it will be out before the end of the year. It will tie all the loose ends up, and the mystery that's been building will be explained and resolved.

And...in 2014, we will reboot the series in Flagstaff, Arizona, with new characters.

Again, thank you to all the fans of the series, especially the "City Knight" fans! I love you all.

Ok...I'm ready.

"Starry Knight", book 3 of the City Knight series, is in one word: LOVE. God, Marcus and Benjamin...can they LOVE one another! The book felt like a reward...we went through the drama, the angst, the danger, the loss, the insecurities, the pain in the first two books...and T.A. Webb rewards us with this...this love letter.

Marcus...the pillar, the foundation, the heart. I love him so much!
Benjamin...the broken, the uncertain, the needy. He brings healing to Marcus...and for that, I love him so much!

Now, all the new characters introduced in book 2 make a reappearance and they play much more prominently in book 3. It was slightly confusing and I wish I had read their dedicated Pulp Friction books to fully understand their stories. I'm looking forward to meeting Chance, Wick, and Zachary more intimately and then returning to reread Starry Knight once more.

In a nutshell - you won't find the level of drama and darkness we had in the first 2 books. Book 3 is shrouded in light...and it made me...*sigh*...happy.

This is the final book in the City Knight series written by T.A.Webb, and the conclusion to Marcus and Benjamin's story.

When I began the first book in this series, back in February 2013, I really did not know what to expect. I was new to the M/M genre and T.A Webb was a completely unknown author to me. Right from the very first book I was quickly immersed into the lives of Marcus and Benjamin. This is a story I have avidly followed through to this final instalment, and what a beautiful end to a truly amazing and unforgettable series.

I really don't want to tell you much more about the book itself as I would hate to ruin even a second of this captivating and tender love story. Instead I implore you to read this series, wether you are already a fan of M/M romance books or you are new to this genre, either way you can not fail to be captivated by this story.

For me this whole series, from start to finish, was a five star read. The writing flowed beautifully, the storyline was both believable and captivating, the erotic love scenes were both sizzling hot and beautifully tender and the characters were not only likeable but loveable, with undeniable chemistry.

This was a love story about Marcus and his Benjamin, a story about two broken men fighting their own personal demons, both suffering their own personal losses, but both inadvertently rescuing each other along the way, and what greater a love story than that.

Right at the beginnings this fantastic series Tom Webb said " Caution: This is the first in a three part series, and you WILL want to come back for part 2. "

Well Like many others I read book one, got blown away, fell in love with two gorgeous damaged men, waited with bated breath and did exactly what he predicted. I came back for part 2, read that, went through all of the same emotions again.... until today when I came back again for part 3 which fulfilled and exceeded all my expectations. But I knew it would, because Ive never been disappointed yet!

So I'll be waiting ( not so patiently ) for the next three books that I was thrilled to find out are planned for future release. Now that did make my day!

It was lovely to have Wick, Chance, Zack and Jeremiah all together in the story that finally wraps up Marcus and Bens emotionally charged love story because aside from the thriller side which has been edge of the seat stuff, this really has been a true love story. When these two men are together the feelings are palpable. The last love scene is mouth watering and so romantic .... As well as being hot as hell.

The fact that all these wonderful complex men have crossed back and forth between stories has been one of the main reasons why every great author and every book in the Pulp Friction series has been an auto buy and I'll be reading them for as long as they keep writing them.

Marcus and Benjamin though were the first who drew me in, the first who left me breathless and the two who stole my heart. Anything Mr Webb writes is 5 star plus for me and whatever he graces us with goes straight into my keepers.
Thank you once more Tom for the pleasure you never fail to provide when I read one of your wonderful books. Loved it.

This one was too sappy for me. Not from Ben and Marcus's part, they were very sweet and huggable.

description

But for the Marcus and "brothers"' part... too much sugar.

description

Because 4 episodes with kisses on the hands and brotherly hugs in less than 50 pages are a way TOO much.

description

That's why I'm a little disappointed in this one. Let's see the fourth part of the series!

An amazing conclusion to Benjamin and Marcus' story! I LOVED IT!!

[image error] photo images_zps3049e685.jpg

Life is a one chance deal, and the cards in your hand are there for a reason. Play them, lay them down, or fold. But don't leave anything on the table.

This story was full of love, warmth, trust and hope. It made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Now, it wouldn't have been complete without a hot sex scene, and boy was this scene hot!

"God, if you could see what I see. You're laid out there like a buffet, Marcus, and nobody can see it but me."

I adored how all of the friends came together as a family to support Marcus and Ben. This was heart warming stuff!
Looking forward to reading about the other character stories - particularly Zachary and Jeremiah - Their arrangement sounds intriguing!

Tom you did it again - your writing is addictive.
Thank you.

**Thanks to my gorgeous Rosalinda and Sarah for the BR on this series - Its been fun :)**

T A Webb has done it again. No matter how hard my life is being, I can sit down with one of his stories and be taken away from my life and become absorbed by his beautiful words.
Starry Knight, the third book in this series, was even better then the two leading up to this point, and I didn't think that was possible.

I discovered this was now available, went and downloaded it, and before I moved again I had read this. I wish I had the talent to tell you how wonderful this writer is, but my mere attempt of explaining how much I have loved this series will never be enough.

The characters are well rounded and believable, the story line gripping and the pace is perfect. I know that this set of three books will be re-read many times. The side characters from other works by other authors have also got me intrigued, so I will be buying and reading them soon.

Mr Webb, every time I read one of your books I am amazed by your wonderful talent, and I am again now after finishing this.

If you haven't read this series yet, go and do it now, and then try other books by this wonderful author.

After two books filled with angst and uncertainty and cliffhangers, this story brings it all to a very satisfying conclusion.

Mr. Webb has once again taken the broken and fixed it. He has given new life to people who thought their lives were over. He's gone above and beyond to make sure that those who have loved Benjamin and Marcus come away feeling glad they joined them on their journey.

That's not to say that the path will be easy. There are still things that need to be settled, and Mr. Webb ties them up so beautifully that you're sure to breathe a sigh of relief that the roller coaster has finally peaked and life is sure to settle back into place.

At least for now.

WOW...beautiful!

An amazing way to finish off this series. Everything connected perfectly in this book, to make it...perfect.

This was full of love between the couple and even from close friends. I really enjoyed reading about all the support given from all the characters in this book.

Finally the final of the trilogy!! and I love Ben and Marcus more!!!!

This is sweeter than the previous two, the angst and suspense is minimal. Lovely that I got to see other characters in their personal life. There were more focus on friendship and relationship, I swear I got teary at the ending :p

Here are my favorite quotes:

He'd realized many years ago that you created family, that it was people your heart chose. Sometimes you were lucky and blood defined it, but most times, especially as a gay man, you travelled through life and fell in step with others who shared your true north.

Life is a one-chance deal, and the cards in your hand are there for a reason. Play them, lay them down or fold. But don't leave anything on the table.

I am at a loss - I don't know why, but I didn't like this much. I found it very sappy and I missed a real story here. It was a "I love you, man" all around and not much else. In retrospective I would have liked it better to have the three parts in one novel, would have also helped with keeping track of all the people in Marcus' hospital room. Also I found the "boy" over-used here.
This part was simply an over-drawn HEA and it was boring to me. The only reason I finished it was, because it was really short.
The writing overall was ok.

Restless recovery. Rebuilding bonds. Regrettable rating.

Let me start with my dilemma; I am at war with myself. The first two City Knight books left me stunned. Literally, I was dazed and confused. It was incredible. Naturally, I anticipated the same from book 3. It’s true I was a bit shocked, but not necessarily in a good way. It hurts to admit, but I wasn't wowed.

It felt, dare I say it, rushed? I enjoyed getting to know the rest of the boys, but I found myself confused on more than one occasion. Shaking my head and going back to reread for clarification wasn't something I expected. For example A couple of other spots threw me off balance and I've never felt lost in any previous books from this favorite author of mine.

Picking up from the drastic cliffhanger of the last book, we find Marcus teetering on the edge of survival. Ben holds the string that keeps him tethered, at least in his mind. My heart physically ached for him, it was intense.
Wick, Chance and Zachary step fully into the spotlight and I look forward to more of them in the future. Their brotherly love was strengthened once again, and it felt good to see Marcus back with his boys.

Ben surprised me. His banter with the guys and possessiveness of Marcus was entertaining to watch. Marcus, oh my broken Marcus. I melted watching his heart return to a hundred percent; he was suddenly given a new reason for each and every beat. The love they share is powerful and passionate.

The ending was utterly satisfying, *sigh* I felt it was a gift in itself, and I hope we are granted future glimpses of this amazing pair in the upcoming books.

Although this was not the sure thing I was predicting, I will certainly stay tuned for more.

Oh. Wow. Tom Webb has done it again. Somehow I doubt that will be the last time I ever say that about this author. His writing is poetic and beautiful, funny and loving. I await each new release with bated breath.

Starry Knight is book three in his City Knight series and is about Ben and Marcus. In this one the author doesn't leave us with a cliffhanger, Thank God, but instead the book is about the love of the family you build yourself. Watching these four best friends and brothers is heartwarming and brought tears to my eyes (darn you, Tom)!

Marcus and Ben are starting a new phase of their relationship together and I'm so excited to watch it happen. Thank you Tom for always giving us a very worthy read!

God how I love this series. This time the story is all about Ben and Marcus. Marcus is recovering in the hospital after taking the bullet meant for Ben. Old relationships, old friends, and new bonds are all explored as Marcus and Ben take the next step in their life together. This is very cathartic, loving and gentle in it's resolution. I never wanted and HEA more than for these two. I got a little scared when I saw the words "finis" at the end. Scared I would not have Marcus and Ben's company again. I am relieved to say they will be back in August. Yay, for the good guys!
I give it a loving heart full of stars. If you have never heard "Vincent" by Don McLean here is the link. http://youtu.be/dipFMJckZOM

Le Sigh... the third installment of this series is here and there is no way it could disappoint. Having finished Knightmare only weeks ago I have had Marcus and Ben on my mind constantly; worried about what happened with that monster of a cliffhanger. I steeled my spine and dove in knowing I would be in for a ride. What I got in this book was exactly what I needed. After the roller coaster, nail biting “What is going to happen next” feel of first two books, this one set a wonderful tone. It let me catch my breath and breathe a long deep and satisfying breath to see these two broken men, accept one another completely.
He gravitated toward him, like the earth around the sun, and the reassurance of touch was a balm to his frazzled soul. He was the earth beneath him, the sky above him, and the starry night that drew him up and made him whole again.

Our story begins after that hell of a cliffhanger and dear Marcus has been shot. We do not hear from him right away but we privy to the thoughts of Ben and Marcus’ friends as they appear at his bed side. Benjamin’s watch over his lover was so touching. Just the thought that if he left, if he did not hear the alarms he would lose Marcus had me tearing up. These two men together are beautiful. I loved that this had them working together toward their future; Marcus having to lean on Ben more but still providing the stability and strength that his boy needs.

The friendship between Marcus, Wick, Chase, Zachary and Archer is beautiful. I am pleased we get to see a bit more interaction between these “brothers” as they come together for one of their own. They not only protect Marcus but they have come to welcome Ben as well based on the simple fact that Marcus loves him. Of course they are still protective and will do what any brother will do if one is hurt…but I am sure Ben is not out do harm Marcus.

Again, I won’t go into too much detail with is, I honestly believe this series is one you have to experience for itself. I should just highlight the entire story as much as I read a paragraph and would just sigh and melt. The words, the words bring on so many emotions and I am done. Shove me in a corner because there is no way I could possibly be a functioning member of any society after reading this.

Starry Knight is a great addition to this growing love story of two men who are both broken but find the strength to move on and love again. To trust in each other no matter what comes their way. To work together to figure out their future and to just stay with one another. Have I said how good this series is? It just kills me.

I have mentioned before that I am a huge fan of this author and this story just solidifies the fact. I will be patiently waiting for more stories about Marcus and his Benjamin.
Marcus turned, and his whole world narrowed to Benjamin.

“If you never met me, and…”

“And I’d be dead inside Benjamin. I love you. You’re mine. Please, stay with me.”

“Yes, Marcus,” he whispered. “I’m yours. If you ask me, Marcus, the answer will always be yes.”

Often, we don't realize how much someone means to us until we almost lose them. When Marcus literally takes a bullet for his lover, Benjamin, Marcus's old friends Chance, Wick, Zachary, and Archer, rush to his side. With their reunion comes re-affirmation of their feelings and the sense of brotherhood they have always enjoyed; along with that are apologies and promises never to be separated again.

Marcus is an amazing man. As rough and tough as he seems, underneath is a heart of gold. He adores Benjamin and Ben feels the same way about him, but is afraid Marcus won't want him out of his life with all the problems he's caused. Ben blames himself and offers to leave. Marcus makes it abundantly clear that if Ben leaves him, he won't make it.

Ben is overwhelmed and bewildered, not just by having the trauma of Marcus being in the hospital and knowing he's the reason, but by being with the fierce men who are around him. His descriptions of them only enhance the images of them being bad asses with hearts of gold, at least when it comes to Marcus; because Marcus loves him so much, they are struggling to accept Ben as well with the warning that if he hurts Marcus he will regret it. Ben is coming into his own, beginning to realize how much he has opened up to Marcus and how he can't stand the thought of being without him. He's found his heart again and has given it to Marcus for safe-keeping.

Since I haven't read the other stories in the 'Pulp Friction' series, I'm barely familiar with Wick, Chance, Zachary, or Archer; but one thing is blatantly obvious—they would all die for Marcus. Their's is a family bonded, not by blood, but by love. Chance and Wick, in their own way, apologize for letting Marcus drift away from them after his lover, Jeremy's murder, and the other two men seem to echo that sentiment. Their private moments with him are surprisingly emotional and affectionate. For such rough, tough men, they are amazingly nurturing, even taking care of Ben, not because they know him, but because Marcus loves him, which automatically means that he's under the protection of the brotherhood.

This unique love story is intense, raw, and awesome. Ben and Marcus are great characters who through their love are able to heal each other and teach themselves how to forgive, and to be able to love again. I can't think of a more affirming ending; or, a better beginning for these two. I'd recommend this story to anyone who likes their romances on the more realistic side, with lots of action and suspense, while also re-affirming the healing power of love. Thanks, T.A.! I loved it.

4.5 stars . I'm reviewing the three first books in this series like one

With these three books I fulfill my reading of everything what T.A. Webb has published individually until today and now he's is a part of my auto-buy authors's list.

I should say that the storyline is not very original. But in my opinion that's not important when a story is so well narrated like this.

T.A. Webb's writing style is simply magnificent. With simple words find the way to expressions of incredible intrinsic beauty and great emotivity. The account is coherent, clear and flowed; said fluidity is remarkable in the alternation of the MCs's POV, very smooth but indubitable at the same time.

The plot develops to a perfect rhythm, and I give myself a pat on the back to have been careful to have had the three books in my tablet before beginning to read, because the cliffhanger at the end of the first and second instalments could create anxiety attacks.

In order to finalize the counting of the merits of this series I want to mention the portrait of the characters, accomplished wonderfully. I like very much how the author goes on dosing the information that offers about the cast, without leaving you in the dark with important factors for every moment neither overloading you with information too soon. And what remains in reserve about secondary characters it doesn't cause more than to arouse my eagerness for reading their own stories..

The only thing that squeaked to me and which is what withdraws half a star of my rating is Jeremiah. I don't refer to the character as such, yet to than his appearing, critical to lead to the resolution of the second book, it is very sudden, not sufficiently explained and his connection with Marcus through Zachary is a little too coincidental.

But that does not make too much shadow. T.A. Webb is as good, that I feel obliged and happy for have discovered him.

When last we met with our intrepid heroes, Marcus Prater and Benjamin Danvers in Knightmare, things were not going well. Marcus had taken a bullet in the chest while protecting his lover Benjamin from the man who had raped him. Was Marcus going to make it? Could Benjamin survive without him and live with the guilt of Marcus taking the bullet meant for him?

Now we see Benjamin holding vigil at Marcus’ hospital bedside, determined to stay with him because he knows he is the only thing keeping Marcus’ heart beating. Marcus’ friends, Chance, Wick and Zackary along with Zackary’s new lover Jeremiah (who just so happens to be a friend of Benjamin’s) have drifted in and out of his room, offering support to both men. If Marcus survives this nightmare will the relationship survive or will he ask Benjamin to leave? Can the relationship survive such devastating trauma and if it doesn’t, can either man survive without the other? Questions asked, answers given but not by me, you’ll have to read the novelette to find out.

This is a short novelette, just 42 pages long and, for once, Mr. Webb has decided to take it easy on us and let up just a tad on the angst. He gives us a short sweet story of two men trying to let go of their own individual pasts and open their hearts to each other.

We met the other characters through the three other authors’ in the Pulp Friction group and it was nice to see everyone all together and to see the bond between the good friends. They give us some nice moments of banter and a warm and fuzzy feeling with their complete loyalty and love for each other.

I won’t give any more of the story away other than to say I was smiling when I was done. For its short length this story has enough going on to keep the reader interested, warning there is a tiny bit of violence and some M/M sex and a few tears just might leak out before it’s all said and done. Once again, good job Mr. Webb, what’s next?

City Knight 2: Knightmare, ended with a gunshot and a gasp. Starry Knight tells us who lives, who dies, and the changes that the characters are forced to deal with.

Normally I’d go into detail and tell you things about the story, but this one you’re going to want to read for yourself. What I will do is tell you that this book is a beautiful conclusion to the City Knight trilogy. Men will come together, men will realize their strengths, men will understand their weakness.

Characters come over from the other books in the Pulp Friction world. Each stands watch over a fallen friend, wondering if he will be taken from them and how their lives are going to change.

One watches over a lover, perhaps taken too soon.

If you enjoyed books one and two of this series, you must read book three. The conclusion is perfect for the story and should be savored with a glass of wine in one hand and a tissue in the other.

Wow... I just loved Starry Knight.

After taking a bullet that was meant for Ben Marcus is recovering in a hospital. They take the next step in their relationship and explore new bonds.

It was lovely to get to know Wick, Chance, Zack and Jeremiah. I haven't read any others Pulp Friction stories yet, but after getting to know those guys I definitely will remedy that.

What I loved the most is the song Tom mentions: Vincent by Don McLean (written 1972). One of my all-time favorites.

“Starry starry night, paint your palette blue and gray. Look out on a summer's day with eyes that know the darkness in my soul... Starry, starry night, flaming flowers that brightly blaze, swirling clouds in violet haze, reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue...“

Awesome, just awesome. :)

4.5 stars--The final book in this trilogy wrapped everything up in a nice little package. All the rough edges were smoothed out and everyone--main and secondary characters alike--were settled. Part of the focus of this last book was on Marcus' three best friends--could this be setting us up for additional serials?? Although I thoroughly enjoyed this trio, the price is a bit hefty for what was well under a 3 hour read. Am I sorry I indulged on this set??--No, but I'm not sure I'd do it again for an equally as quick read.

If you have $9 to spend on a 2.5 hour read, this one is fun with an equal number of steamy and anxious moments--lots of friendship, passion and true love.
