I picked this book up on a whim while visiting Lost Maples State Park's visitors center. With up to 97% of human history lost, I found this book that interviewed local citizens of the area who's families were some of the earliest inhabitants. It is fascinating to read how some land marks received their names, personal stories, poetry, as well as some humor that made me laugh. Inside you will also find some old remedies that may soon be lost to time. There is a follow up "Coyote Songs: An Oral History of the Sabinal Canyon" I would like to read in the near future.
