The Trust – A secret organization comprised of thousands of independent field units fighting an eternal war against demonic forces that prey on the innocent.
One such unit is led by Alexandra Glinyeu, a Voodoo Priestess. Her top operatives are former vigilantes, Forrest King and Catherine Jordan – two people who have discovered that the demons they fight could be anyone – friend, lover or family.
This collection of their exploits include Catherine facing the prospect of potential lifelong happiness with a new love when she helps the head of a Trust library whose former girlfriend has returned as a blood sucking Nelapsi, an unidentified flesh-eating creature stalking an isolated community living on a small island, an American television star under sentence of death and an ancient evil returning from beyond the grave.
Residing in Blackpool, England, I have written over 70 books. As a fervent collector of celebrity autographs, I also champion LGBTQ rights, a theme I often explore in my writing. My pen name pays homage to acting icons Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, whose work I admire; despite their roles in less acclaimed films, they consistently delivered exceptional performances. My interests span supernatural folklore and enigmatic mysteries, such as alien abductions and the Loch Ness Monster. I'm an enthusiast of series like Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which greatly inspire my work.
This book dives into a world of supernatural threats and covert operations, delivering a thrilling mix of mystery, action, and paranormal intrigue. The story follows members of "The Trust," a secret organization dedicated to protecting humanity from the dark forces that lurk in the shadows.
Showcasing distinct supernatural encounters, the variety of threats keeps the pacing unpredictable. The descriptions of haunted locations and beings are vivid and immersive, pulling readers into a world where danger feels omnipresent.
A fun read if you enjoy paranormal thriller with a bit of mystery and lots of action.
This is a story within a story. It’s a collection of adventures that wrap around the “Trust,” a secret organization who fight against the supernatural to help protect the innocent. You will meet many Characters in your journey through this book. Some good like Alexandra Glinyeu, a voodoo Priestess, and some bad like the Nelapsi, an unidentified flesh-eating creature that I would not want to run into on a dark night.
This book keeps you interested with all its twist and turns, you never know where the next page will take you. I do feel the book was a little cramped at times, and I felt it should have been a little longer, but I still enjoyed the book.
If you enjoy a fast paced supernatural thriller with loads of blood-sucking vampires, you won’t be disappointed in Lee Cushings, The Trust Casefiles.
This was my first sampling of Lee Cushing’s work and I was not disappointed. His dark and compelling tale of the paranormal quite literally grips you and refuses to let go. You find yourself emerged in an intense and dangerous world as you follow the exploits of The Trust and one of its leaders, Alexandra.
As well as being packed full with action and suspense there are moments of wickedly dark humor such as when a technique is detailed where vampires are pumped full of bullets long enough to distract them so that their head can be cut off. I don’t want to reveal too much of the plot but suffice to say this is much more complex than your average vampire book.
Its twist and turns will ensure you are suitably enthralled as you go from page to page. Overall I feel the book fully deserves the full five stars.
Lee Cushing throws us into an epic demon-hunting battle with The Trust Casefiles! Voodoo priestess Alexandra Glinyeu leads The Trust, an enigmatic monster-hunting group, in an ongoing clandestine battle against evil creatures that hide amongst us. It’s a classic set up, but I really enjoyed the variety of characters Cushing throws into this one. We jump all over the world showing off the vastness of this secret conflict as hapless heroes battle it out with a creative variety of foul creatures. I love monster slaying narratives, and even though this one throws a lot of characters and locales at you, I actually appreciated the feel that there’s a large battle going on here. If you love darker urban fantasy and monster hunting mayhem, definitely strap on your slaying gear and dive into The Trust Casefiles!
There are too many additional characters in this book making it hard to follow and a bunch of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors that even a dyslexic like me can spot. I don’t like giving up on books so I read it until the end but it took a while to get there.
Just because you feel this may be yet another vampire book and pass it over, I have to warn you that you may regret not taking the time to read this, apparently, collection of tales. Take the time to pick this up and you will quickly discover it is something more than that; it is full of a variety of beings of both the vampiric and supernatural variety, and their coming to be included in the ‘Casefiles’.
Because of the vast number of different beings covered, not to mention a myriad of their opponents, this novel did have a tendency to become muddled at times, which made it a challenging read in a few areas. Some parts did not quite flow on from one another and this led to some confusion and backtracking on my part as I read it. Perhaps if this book had been broken down in to smaller bite-sized parts all the different characters would have been easier to keep track. Also the main characters could have benefitted from a little more time being taken on their development earlier in the book as there was nothing about them that would help the reader engage with them from the start, and I found myself becoming rather bored with them in places.
With this said, the Author has invested a lot of time into providing readers with a host of unique vampires, not one of which ‘sparkle’, and showing a side to this topic the reader rarely sees, which is that they are as diverse in their nature as we humans are. To add to this unique perspective of the vampire, the plot is equally as refreshing. There are numerous twists and turns which keep the reader on their toes, and the plot moving along at a nice pace. However, a good editor may have pointed out that there needs to be a few more breadcrumbs in the book, as even the most dedicated of readers can find themselves getting lost occasionally, that would be me again, and these would help them back onto the path. Regardless of this minor point I found it to be a very enjoyable read.
I would recommend this fast paced, action packed book to anyone who likes their vampire tales traditional, but with a slight twist. Also lovers of supernatural tales would find this book enjoyable.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I am pleased to say I very much enjoyed it.
It is, what reads like, a collection of stories which are based on a 'Trust' who protect the humans by destroying vampires and other supernatural beings. There are lots of different types of vampires mentioned, as well as lots of different 'agents' for the Trust.
The book has many positive aspects which make it a very good read, however there are a couple of areas that, with minimal work, could make this book much better and easier to read. Firstly, it's necessary to point out that it's not, in my opinion at least, an easy read. The snippets don't always seem to flow on from each other, and this can make it quite confusing as a reader. In addition, I feel there are too many characters to keep up with and the major characters could just do with a little more development earlier on in the book to encourage the reader to engage and invest more emotion in them from the early pages.
That being said, there are many positive aspects that are a credit to Cushing. Perhaps the best of these is the variety of vampires covered in this book. The imagination necessary to create not only one unique brand of vampires for a book, but to create a huge variety, and making out that they are as diverse as humans is a novel concept that I've not encountered in such detail before. The fact that Cushing also dabbles into other supernatural beings as well makes this book a must read for those interested in traditional stereotypes of supernatural creatures.
In addition, I feel huge credit has to be given for the plot in this book. Although not entirely easy to follow throughout, the amount of twists and turns that Cushing has included is admirable. Each chapter delivers something new and very fresh to the story, and that's something few books manage. Personally, it needs to be just a bit more careful in the plot structure, and a few more signposts are needed to really help the reader find their way through the book a little easier, but it is immensely enjoyable to read.
In conclusion, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes traditional vampire tales with a twist. It's a fast paced book with plenty of action and a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a few hours!
This book was provided by the author to Nerd Girl Official for an honest review.
So many twists and turns! This is centered around "The Trust" which is an organization that investigates the paranormal. However, this is not the vampire story we all know. As if vampires aren't already dark and twisted, but these are so much more. This is more of a collection of stories of the The Trust. The author takes you in many directions with these case files and brings you back to a central group of people who are fighting these strange and dangerous groups of vampires. It is an intriguing story but can be hard to follow at times. At times while reading this I would really get into the chapter but then it just stops and goes into anther case file. It would eventually come back around. I felt there were holes in parts of the story and that it could have flowed a little better. You are thrown into a world with a lot of different characters. Some are insignificant but others you need to pay attention to as they appear in other case files. At times it is hard to keep track of the different characters. Overall this is a great story with a different take on the vampire community and the people who help continue to keep the human race safe.

This book is not the typical vampire book, it is a very interesting read. It has tons twist and turns, you never know where the next page will take you.. very fast read and well-written too..
Well....where do I start?! Guns, vampires, lesbians and werewolves, it’s all here!! I have to say that this is by far one of the best vampire novels I have read so far. I thought Blade was top dog in this genre but he’s been given a run for his money for sure with this novel. This is definitely not a boring tale by a long measure. There is so much going on, what with werewolves eating their husbands without realizing and poor Daphne coming home to find her girlfriend has been sucked dry and then having to kill her when she turns. Nice. With explosive action and an amazing attention to detail, Lee Cushing unleashes his imagination upon you through the medium of 'The Trust Casefiles’ leaving you with vivid imagery that lasts a long time after you’ve finished the book. I will surely be reading the next!
“The Trust Casefiles” is great and fun vampire thriller with many interesting themes and symbols that will definitely not leave you indifferent: vampire mythology, demonic forces, heroes, crime and crime investigation, humor, love and many others.
I would not like to reveal you the story, but I can assure that it’s a great one! The story focuses on a secret organization that is fighting against demonic forces, protecting innocent people. It has provoking plot, interesting characters, surprises and also a great, unexpected ending. Also, the book is well written, easy and fun to read and it has everything what you expect from any good story: it is interesting, exciting, suspenseful with many twists and turns and most important, it really draws you in.
It’s a great and fun reading and I would recommend it to any vampire thriller fan.
The Trust Casefiles is a thriller with a thought provoking plot. The book is well written, the story plot is original and the characters are fascinating and well developed.
I don't want to give away too much of the book, but this book is not the typical vampire book, it is a very interesting read. It takes you away from reality and shows you a unique view of the paranormal world.
To anyone looking for a great escape that sucks you in from the first page, completely holds your interest and doesn't let you go till the last page - I highly recommend this book.
If you are into vampires, this your book! Lee Cushing provides plenty of comedy, drama, and a wild plot that keeps the pace quick and the pages turning. The character diversity is pretty impressive, as is the imagination of the author. It’s a completely different take on the paranormal world, and an intense dip into a dark and twisted tale. I won't include any spoilers, but you won't be disappointed! There are tons of interesting and downright outrageous characters to keep you entertained and will keep you guessing non-stop.
Vampires, Zombies and Werewolves are an eternal problem, but thank goodness there are those who fight them. The individuals who fight them put their love ones on the line, as well as their lives. The story doesn’t show the creatures as wanting to fit into society. It shows vampires as cold blooded killers, but it also points out how dependent the creatures of the paranormal world are on the humans they hunt. If you enjoy the paranormal, and thrillers all packed into a story that moves along quickly from the very beginning, this book is sure to be one that you can’t put down.
I really enjoyed this book. At first, I was hesitant, because there is just SO MUCH junk occult stuff, but this one stands out from the crowd. The writing is very well done, with plenty of plot and character development. I really liked the concept that good and evil are not distinct entities, but instead there are grey areas. It should also be said that this is not a story for the squeamish, it is a bloody thriller, as well, it should be. I look forward to more from this author.
Review: This isn't your "new age" vampire tale. The classic vampire IS reinvented a bit, but I must say, I enjoyed the remake. The author was able to put a good spin on a nearly corrupted view of vampires in this day in age, and the story line was awesome to boot. I'm a huge fan of horror and I wasn't disappointed at all. I'd recommend this book to any horror fan. You'll be "sucked" into the book from the first chapter on!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review. Making Connections Though the beginning of this book left me somewhat confused as to what the various supernatural creatures were and whether they were good guys or bad guys. By a few chapters in I was on the edge of my seat with all of the action going on through the book. From that point it wasn't a dull moment. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
A very interesting story about the paranormal realm which has intrigued me from start to finish. I am a huge fan of the fiction genre and must say that the Trust Organization was an interesting spin in humanity's fight against evil.
So many creatures that dwell in the darkness, lurking, waiting for the perfect moment to strike! The organization is the only opposing force able to face the demons.
A dark but also funny book, with plenty of action, bullets and flesh eating demons
Lee Cushings's book took me by surprise as I didn't know what to expect from the author. It was recommended by a friend so I thought I'd give it a try.
I wasn't disappointed by the complexity of the book and the diversity of the supernatural world described.
Though the author hasn't shaped all the characters like most of the fictional books do, with lots of details, I believe it is a good thing as it focuses better the events.
Twilight, this is not. There are no sparkles, no sappy love lines. Oh yes, this book has vampires, but it is not your typical urban fantasy book by any stretch of the imagination. The Trust Casefiles are gritty, fast paced, and will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire ride. This is a collection of short stories, each with their own story, but intertwining beautifully. A great new spin on telling vampire tales and you don’t want to miss this ride.
‘The Trust Casefiles’ is a fabulous book of love, trust and edge-of-your-seat life threatening situations. The book is written as a series of short stories that weave through life of the Trust, an organisation fighting a range of different types of vampires, and that showcase the creativity of author, Lee Cushing.
Firstly Thank You to Goodreads for advancing me a copy of this book. The Trust files is a collection of stories of The Trust who protect humans against demons and vampires and the like. I enjoyed the book even though I would not have normally have chosen it. A good read.
The Trust Casefiles was a fantastic read. It left me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The novel was well-written, the character development was so deep and had a unique plot. I had a hard time putting it down once I began reading. Cushing's book is spell-binding.
A great thriller that has an unexpected ending. The book was well written and the character development was great. If you like suspenseful thrillers, then you definitely want to check out this book
