“Who are you?” I said, voice shaking—near hysterics.
His eyes found mine, but I could not read them. “I’m not entirely human.”

In late nineteenth century London, seventeen-year-old Selena Bancroft has been blessed with beauty and fortune—and the expectation that she marry when she comes of age.

Consumed with wanderlust, a beau is the last thing Selena wants. However, there is something inexplicable about Gabriel Easton that draws Selena’s attention.

When she decides to spend the summer in Germany away from the hated social season, Selena brazenly flouts her debutante duties—despising the dresses, the suitors, and feeling like a pretty trinket at auction—and is unexpectedly drawn into Gabriel’s world. But Gabriel has a secret, one that will change Selena’s world forever. Will she willingly sacrifice everything for the one thing she never wanted?

Omg!!! This book was totally not what i was expecting ,it was way better ....well really it was some what tough to get through the first pages of the book ,because it is a bit slow . But when it finally got to the good stuff i was non stop reading lets just say my ipad was my best friend for the day ,i couldn't stop reading and this not only would i have to blame on the awesome plot of the story which for me had a combination of " interview with the vampire " type of feel since the whole story takes place in 1893 and i thought it fitting, with believe it or not "twilight" since it has like the whole vampire family and the whole love story of predator falling in love with prey ,but especially because of the hottie in the story GABRIEL EASTON!!! Whew !! Is all i got to say . I loved he's character he was perfect for me ,had all the qualities any girl would love he was all alpha and overprotective .

In the famous words of Mr.Easton ....

" i will be unbearably overprotective over the next weeks , like it or not "

" you have no need of prospects he growled "

" he's arms tightened around me and i groaned he kissed me more fervently and we fell back on the bed "

Wow !! I know like i said loved he's character!! And the chemistry that Selene and him have in the story is so intriguing and exciting you never know what you are going to get with them .

Selene character was great she really , had the whole independent gal type of thing going for her which i loved ,better than the whole damsel in need of a man ..... And omg! James he was just so adorable i like he's whole flirty style ,but in a cute friend way.

Uhhhh and i hate Viktor ewwww he's so creepy and horrible i totally picture him like antonio banderas in interview with the vampire but more evil !

Overall i loved everything about the whole story and honestly the whole historical romance type of thing is not my scene .... So for me to have loved it its because it was a really awesome intriguing and exciting read ! Cant wait to start the next book !

Thank you Aryn awesome book !!!!!! ;)

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Aryn Cordner for the opportunity to review this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was great from start to finish. I know it is a 4 star review when I experience visceral reactions. I laughed, I welled up with tears and I felt the desire between Selena and Gabriel.

Selena is strong, independent young woman who knows what she wants. What she doesn't expect is to fall for Gabriel Easton or the secrets that surround him and his family. She must decide whether she can accept him how he is or walk away. Once her decision his made she fights to keep the new life she sees. My heart felt torn out at the end and I really want to know what was going through her head when she makes her last decision of the book.

I did notice the occasional slip of more modern speech and the very cheeky James was lucky to have landed on Aunt Jo's doorstep but that's what makes it work. The dynamic between James and Aunt Jo was great. I occasionally felt like small passages where taking too long but that was just because I was so eager to see what would happen next, I was impatient of the ground work being laid!!

I wait with baited breath to read what is in store for the characters in the next instalment. I highly recommend it to those who like a little paranormal in their historical fiction.

**A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

Drink Divine is an outstanding YA paranormal romance novel. Aryn Cordner has created something simply profound from start to finish. It wasn't too much romance that made me sick to read. It was simply perfect. The world she created along with the characters were awesome!

Selena Bancroft was an awesome female protagonist. From start to finish she was fearless, sassy and all about not being what society wanted her to be. From the beginning on the book when he see Selena packing to head to Germany we see how sassy and smart mouthed she can be. Her parents sent her to school to obtain a proper female education while they were away in Egypt. Selena did not want to be in school so she decided to leave, but in the midst of her leaving her aunt Edith comes along and takes her to their home in London. While there she finds that her aunt Edith wants her to have two seasons and marry to keep their inheritance going. Selena does not want to be apart of that lifestyle, she wants to live her life the way she chooses to. She lives by one rule: don't fall in love because she doesn't need a man, but she is sadly mistaken when she meets Gabriel Easton.

Gabriel Easton is a young man of secrets that one could only imagine. He falls in love with Selena: love at first sight, but his secret is too much for him to put on her. He is not a normal human at all, he's a dhampir. He soon confides the truth to Selena and gives her the option to stay or leave. Selena, on many accounts, has chosen to stay with him and be happy, but their relationship is a secret because he doesn't want Selena to be an outcast in society.

I love the romance that brewed between the Gabriel and Selena and the chase that went on between them. I love how Selena didn't care much for the "monster" he was, but for the heart he had and the love he could give her.

Other characters I loved: Anastasia, Aunt Jo and James. Anastasia was sweet girl, I didn't like what her family made her do because of her cousin Tatiana, it just was not fair to her at all. Aunt Jo kept me laughing -- I could see why Selena wanted to be like her. Aunt Jo was sweet, kind and realistic about what she wanted as not just a woman, but as a human being. James was such a flirt, at first I thought he would be the one to end up Selena after things went south with her and Gabriel because the connection between the two was insanely perfect.

Characters I completely loathed: Viktor, Georgina and Tatiana. Viktor was a total douche for his attacks just try and get Selena. The fact that he was feral makes sense, but he didn't have to be that much of an evil vampire, Prince or not, he had no rights to Selena at all and his constant chase for her pissed me off. Georgina is a nice cousin, but listening to her mother Edith just made me hate her. She should have just made sure that Selena had a great time in Germany. Tatiana was pure rude and twisted. I don't like how she referred to Selena at all. I feel as if she was probably envious of her. I just didn't really care for Tatiana at all.

Overall, this book was outstanding and quickly became a favorite for me. I however, cannot wait to read the sequel! That ending left me heartbroken and what Gabriel and Anastasia did was insane. I just hope Selena finds them again and I pray that Viktor dies somehow someway.

I must say that I am absolutely, positively blown away by the world that is created here. There is a lushness to the writing that is simply wonderful and I found myself tearing thru the pages anxious to see what would was going to happen next. I am emotionally torn about many aspects of the book, the primary being Selena herself. Selena is such a wonderfully complex character which makes her a joy to read. She is so strong and so independent. She belongs in this classic world of Jane Austen while at the same time being completely modern. She has such wit and character. As much as I adore her I found myself disliking her in equal parts. Throughout the novel there are so many times when I do not know what to make of her thoughts and behaviors. For example she often champions her right to be independent and make her own decisions yet when her friend comes to her with a similar situation her first thought is not to console and commiserate. While she does see it as an injustice she goes back and forth between seeing it as Anastasia’s role and course in life (a role until this moment she would have rejected herself!) and wishing she could help - but doing nothing about it. Indeed when Anastasia does behave in a manner in which Selena herself would have behaved, Selena finds herself upset with her for perhaps upsetting the course of her own life. And there are many other times that this type of thing occurs. And I think that is where my problems with Selena ultimately lie - as much as she is daring and courageous and a character to die for she is often selfish and self-centered, reacting in opposition to those around her for the simple sake of being contrary. I say this not to downplay the novel or Selena for that matter, simply to point to the complexity of emotions that arise from reading this. And if it appears that i am harsh that might be because i care sooooo much for this character and this book. That said I cannot wait to read more and to continue this saga! I think that this will definitely appeal to readers of Austen, The Historian, Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series and Gail Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate series.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Drink Divine is set in 19th century England and follows the life of one Selena Bancroft, an upper class maiden who rebels against the strict social structures of her time. She is desperate to escape her own coming out season, and is completely against being married off to some man just because it will uphold her family's name. In order to escape, she flees to Germany for a summer, to stay with her cousin and her new cousin's husband. Once there, she meets the mysterious Gabriel Eaton, an upper class man with a shady family, though no one quite seems to know what isn't right about his family. When Selena finds out, her world is turned upside down.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I really expected it be one more Girl meets Vampire, Falls in Love, has to deal with Consequences type of romance novel. It is that, but it's more too. It's a coming of age story, and a bit of a social essay on Victorian social etiquette.

The author really did her homework on the Victorians and what it was like to live in London at that time. She gives Selena a bit of extra freedoms, but always has a handy reason why Selena is acting the way she is. The character herself is a bit of a spoiled brat, but I found myself really falling in love with her cheek and her sense of entitlement, instead of being annoyed by it. It was lovely to find a main character in a vampire romance who wasn't a complete push over, and who didn't fit the "I'm so dorky and clumsy" mould.

All in all, a fun and well written story. I've already read the second one and can't wait to get my hands on more.

I was gifted this book for an honest review. I honestly had a hard time putting it down. But since I need to bath, eat, go to work and take of my family I did so begrudgingly. With that said her is my review.

I don't read a lot of historic romance novels so I came into this book with an open mind. I found the main characters to be dynamic and relatable. Selena is a free spirit, who enjoys life. I love her independence and that she doesn’t always succumb to the appointed male/female roles laid out to her.

The supporting characters are great. Her cousin is annoying but is the necessary ying to Selena’s yang. Eugenia is cheeky, and much more than just her maid. Aunt Jo and James are fantastic and unexpected. I was secretly rooting for James as a love interest until we were introduced to Gabriel. Gabriel is a breath of fresh air. He doesn’t try to change Selena or make her conform to how a lady is expected to behave. His relationship with his sister Anastasia made me love him more.

I really enjoyed the paranormal aspect and the twist on a legendary myth. I could probably talk about this part of the book for hours but I don’t want to give up too much of the book. I hope to learn more of this world in the next book in this series.

I am really looking forward to the next book because I want to see how the ending of Divine Drink plays out. Henry and Selena are just not meant to be, but then again I am partial to Gabriel with James in a close second place.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story.

I give this 4.5 Stars!!!

Seventeen year old Selena Bancroft is beautiful and comes from a high class wealthy family. As with all young ladies in 19thCentury Selena is expected to find a husband of wealth, status and good breading, however Selena is uninterested in finding a husband, she wants to live as she chooses and become an old maid.
During her ‘Coming out Ball’ she meets Gabriel, an English gentleman her Aunt Edith wishes her to stay away from as his family don’t meet her approval. Selena decides to spend the season with her Cousin Georgina and her husband in Germany, she meets Gabriel again on the train who lives near where she is staying. After spending time with him and his sister Anastasia who becomes a good friend her feelings towards marriage start to change, however Gabriel has a secret which pulls Selena into a world she didn’t know existed and could put her in danger if she chooses to stay with him.

The Plot of this story had me intrigued as I love a novel set in 19thCentury London, add to that a twist of supernatural and I just couldn’t resist. This story has all the social standings, grandeur and expectations of a Jane Austen novel mixed with aspects of the Twilight Saga making it an astonishing read.

I loved most of the characters in this book. Selena is a strong willed independent girl who wishes to travel and live life to the full, she detests social standards and doesn’t want her life to become that of a wife and nothing else. Aunt Jo makes me laugh as she shuns expectations of her class and lives how she chooses, she’s an inspirational character who supports Selena in her choices and personally reminds me a little of my Grandmother. Jimmy her footman is my favourite, he’s a cheeky chap that flirts with the ladies and is like one of the family, I found myself wanting to read more about him and would have preferred him as the other part of Selena’s love triangle. Aunt Edith and her daughter Georgiana are interfering social climbers who want Selena to marry to preserve the family name and reputation, these are definitely the annoying but endearing family members we all have. Gabriel is a guy I would fall in love with regardless of his secret and his sister Anastasia is just as enchanting, I love the relationship between Gabriel and his sister, his protective nature and the love he has for Selena. The rest of his family is scary as expected but the character I didn’t really relate to was Henry Ashfield, the other part of the possible love triangle.

I feel Aryn Cordner wrote the story extremely well and stayed true to the 19thCentury stereotypical roles and attitudes of men and women within that period, the characters etiquette and manners added emotional depth to the story and each individual character.
I really liked the descriptions Aryn provides of the fashion, stately homes and castles making it easy for the reader to picture the scenes and become enthralled in the story.

This story had me sobbing towards the end and I guarantee you will need a tissue or two by the time you reach chapter 25, which was superbly written, however the last chapter (3 pages) left me feeling a little disappointed and asking why Selena would make such a decision when all through the book her personally has been strong, independent and carefree of others opinions and expectations. I would have liked the story to end on the emotional bombshell of chapter 25 and would have given this a 5 star rating if it had.

I think this story was amazing and the trilogy is only going to get better as the story unfolds! I can’t wait for the release of book 2 which is currently being written! This is Aryn’s website for anyone wanting updates http://aryncordner.blogspot.com/

*This book was sent to me in exchange for an honest review*

This is a very cute, though not very original, paranormal romance set in the Victorian era. At first I thought this would be a comedy of manners/fantasy of manners type of story, but the protagonist cares very little for maintaining her social status other than for the comfortable life she's grown up with. The story follows Selena Bancroft, a 17 year old society débutante, who rejects the idea of finding a husband and settling down, in favour of travelling to Egypt, where she spent her childhood. Selena manages to convince her cousin to allow her to stay with her and her husband in Germany for the summer, but not before her aunt formally introduces her to society with her own party, with invitations sent out to as many eligible bachelors as possible... And so Selena meets the mysterious and handsome Gabriel.

Selena is a strong, feisty, female character. With books set in modern times, it is very easy to create a hard-headed character, that their strength is misinterpreted as ignorance or stupidity. However, since Selena is living in the Victorian era, her stubbornness and contempt for traditional gender roles is fresh and inspiring, which contrasts greatly with the other female characters in the book. Unfortunately, since Selena's uncouthness is not a regular feature in high society, she appears to be especially rude and spoilt, which can sometimes be irksome.

On the other hand, Gabriel, the male protagonist, is more adept at social skills; however, as a character, he is less rounded and boring to read about. There is very little attractive about him, other than his physical appearance, and he takes liberties without thought or care for other people . I suppose, in that sense, Selena and Gabriel are perfect for each other.

It was interesting to find out about the vampire world, and how similar the social structure is to high society, but it irritated me how Selena conformed so quickly to the vampire world . However, I thought that the pacing of the book was good, the romance progressed at a steady rate, though it was quite amusing how Selena's view changed quite drastically with regard to Gabriel.

The ending was a let down... Too much of the book focused on the romance, that there was not enough tension to fuel the ending.

While reading the premise of this book, I found myself greatly intrigued. 19th century London where the main character is to be carted around to balls and parties to find her mate...only she wants nothing to do with this seemingly frivolous idea. Until she meets the mysterious Gabriel that is, then all bets are off; even when she discovers his family secret.

Parts of this book, I flew right through and couldn't stop reading. There are other parts I just kept saying to myself that I was reading a different version of the Twilight books. That being said, I did like how it was placed in the time period that it was with all the expectations and how their "affair", if you will was almost elicit and had to be kept secret. There were times I really liked the main character Selena, and there were other times she annoyed me with how she talked to her maid (her only friend besides Gabriel's sister if we're being honest here) and could come off as a spoiled brat at times. I did enjoy the fact that she wanted to forge her own path and was free spirited and would deliberately do things the opposite of what her matchmaker cousin and aunt wanted because she was tired of their antics. I liked James' character and would definitely like to see her with him as opposed to Henry, who we don't really know much about except what he does and he can give Selena a seemingly ordinary life. I did like Gabriel's character and would like to see what happens with them in the future. I did not like the end though. She's properly heartbroken from Gabriel, who she truly loves, and then agrees to something with Henry....while thinking of Gabriel!!! I would have been more interested if she said no and to have read the fall out, but this was only the first book in the series.

All in all, it was a decent read and I would be interested to know what happens to these characters in the next books

What an ending to this book. It left me in suspense but in a good way. This book has a lot of what I like in a book. It is a historic romance with a paranormal twist. The story includes a heroine that does not fit in with the stereotypical ninteenth century London society. I really like this cover as well. I can’t wait to read the second book in the series.

I really liked Selena and Anastasia both. I want a happy ending for both of these girls. As for Gabriel, he is one of the love interests for Selena and Anastasia’s older brother, he is a great character but some days he doesn’t always have his brain engaged when he opens his mouth. Henry, the other love interest, seems like a nice guy but he just doesn’t have me hoping that he wins Selena in the end. I think he might be a better match for Anastasia instead of Selena. Anastasia was a very quiet girl at the beginning but by the end of this book we finally see some fire in her personality. I also loved Selena’s Aunt Jo and James. I hope we get to see them more in the next books.

What I really liked was the author did a really good job in my opinion with writing her characters as well as the world building. I liked that Selena’s parents are archaeologists also. It gives this books a little extra something. I hope the reader gets to meet them in the next story as they were in Egypt during this book.

The only thing I didn’t like as much was that I felt like Henry wasn’t as three dimensional as Gabriel was. He was just there and just a nice guy. Also the spur of the moment decision that Selena made at the end of this book made me want to shake her. I mean really that is what you came up with. I will be interested to see what comes out of that decision in the next book.

All in all this was a good book and a good start to a new series. I will definitely be waiting for the next book to come out so I can see what happens.

Firstly I'd like to thank Aryn Cordner for giving me this book in exchange for a honest review.

This book is set in London 1893 and revolves around Lady Selena Bancroft. We first meet her preparing to leave her finishing school to go abroad to Germany to visit her cousin and to escape the pressures of England in that era (mainly marrying well and securing a title). However Selena is a free spirit and has no wish to marry at all but instead to become an old spinster like her great aunt Jo but before her maid can even finish packing her belongings, her great aunt arrives to take her home where her Aunt Edith has insisted upon introducing her to society and give her a season. Both agree to a suitable compromise which is that Selena will stay only until after the ball, then she may make her way to Germany.

Enter Gabriel Easton whom despite Selena's resolve not to marry, he catchs her eye the night of the ball and as fate should have it, they also find themselves on the same train on their way to Germany.

And so the story really begins....

This book had all the ingredients to be a great book, i just feel that by the end we weren't any closer to a resolution. I know it is only book one of the trilogy but it felt as though it just dragged on with random bits and pieces thrown together. I tried to like Gabriel but even from the first i didn't warm to him and what was with him in the end there, he turn into a complete ass. Someone i loved the minute they first appear is James. Now that is someone i would love to see Selena end up with, i know he isn't a peer but if Selena is so free as she seems she wouldn't care!!! Last but not least, Henry. I liked him and felt so bad about the way Selena used him. He deserves someone whom isn't in love with another, and i felt it unfair of her to keep accepting his attentions instead of putting everything in the open.

I received this book as a gift for an honest review.

I would rate this book at 3.5 stars--but to me in this instance, that will round up to 4 stars! I love historical romance, and I thought this was extremely well-done for a first time author. Although there were a few vocabulary issues that may or may not have been used in the 1890s (how do you know for sure--we weren't there!), I had no problems with it. If I were to describe this book to my friends, I would describe it as "Jane Austen meets Twilight" but without the annoying Twilight angst--yes, I said that, sorry super Twilight fans!

I really liked the main characters: Selena, Gabriel, Aunt Jo, and James. Henry to me seemed a little one dimensional so the jury's still out on how I feel about him. However, I would guess that he will be featured a lot more prominently in the next book given how this one ended. Selena is a good heroine, strong-willed, adventurous, brave, and curious. She did not wish to just sit and wait for a husband--she wanted to experience and enjoy life. I think a lot of girls can and will relate to that. Gabriel was a great complement to that. He was very caring and loyal (and handsome). Aunt Jo and James cracked me up--love them. The last couple chapters--especially the very last chapter--kind of threw me for a loop. Selena decided something that seems very hasty, so I am curious to see how that turns out for all the characters involved. Personally, James was my favorite. There's a love triangle already in place by the end, but I would love to see it turn into a square, or whatever a 3 guy 1 girl thing would be!

Parts of this book read a little slow mostly I think because of the time period it is set in (I feel that way about Jane Austen books as well sometimes), but overall I think this was an excellent first novel and am looking forward to the next books in the series. Thank you!

I love Historical Romance and this was far more entertaining than I had bargain for. Reading it felt I was sent back in time. I was like living the life of Selena. As I was reading, a movie was playing in my head. I can see it happening. It was written beautifully and with such detail of the days of woman in society in the 19th century. It had romance, mystery and paranormal... all my favorites. A great combination. I fell in love with her aunt Jo. She was something else, and James was described to be a big flirt, but was entertaining. Was't too fond of her cousin Georgiana marriage seen to of changed her, she was acting like her parent than a cousin. She was on a mission to marry off her cousin with have a ball for suitors. Her parent was abroad so they were not around. They were in Egypt, they had sent Selena to London with her aunts since she was of age to be married and be a part of society.

I really look forward for the continuation of this series, I have to know what happens with Selena and Gabriel Easton, will she marry someone else or still follow her heart regardless what people will say if she chooses the wrong man. I am dying to know the answer and so will you. Have to read this book a must.

I was given a free copy of this ebook for my honest review.

I look forward to the next book by Aryn Cordner. For her first published book, she got a new fan of her work. Thank you Aryn.

Before reviewing I would like to thank the author for giving me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
When I read the blurb for this book I was immediately intrigued since it had paranormal elements and it was set during the Victorian era.
I had high hopes for the book and I loved the descriptions and the fact that the plot took me to Germany but what completely ruined this for me was Selina the heroine.
Selina is a seventeen year old girl who has beauty, wealth and status, but she does not wan't to fall in the traditional female role of her era (get married to the highest bidder and have kids) that I can respect and admire, I liked her more when she mentioned that she wanted to leave England to travel to Egypt like her parents. what I couldn't respect was how she treated everyone and how she acted like a spoiled brat. I get that she didn't want to be a a "Lady" but that's no reason to be so rude to her aunt Edith and her cousin just because they were "traditional females" of the time. The last thing that made me dislike Selina was the way she treated and used Henry.
As for Gabriel I liked him but he isn't my favorite lead male, not memorable enough for me,
The plot of this book was good it was just ruined by the way Selena told it, maybe I would've enjoyed it more if the book had been told by Gabriel's point of view

Beneath the Moon and Stars review

It's been awhile since I read a vampire story. I enjoyed this but it didn't wow me.

This tells the story of Selena. She's taken to Germany in hopes of avoiding the social season. She doesn't expect to find a relationship but she's drawn to Gabriel in more ways than one.

I think I enjoyed this story the most because of Selena. She was a fabulous main character. Her personality was very well done. I loved how she handled her family. She stood up for herself without being rude. Gabriel was also a great character. I loved how sweet he was. His family was a little interesting but still well done. I didn't really see a lot of vampire aspects other than the blood of course. They seemed almost perfectly normal to me.

This was a very historical read. It was set in an older time. I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. There wasn't a lot of vampire. That kinda threw me off because this is a vampire story. We didn't get to see a lot of that side. There was a fair share of action. There was lots and lots of suspense. I had trouble putting it down. Overall I did enjoy this. I did wish for more vampire aspects though. If your a fan of historical times, this is for you!

I just want to start by thanking the author for giving me her book on a read for review basis. I found this book very captivating, I was straight away hooked into the story. The author instantly grab the readers attention with her wonderful description of the Victorian times which is when this novel is placed. Although a few times words such as "nah" were used during dialogue I think the author really did a good job of taking the reader back in time.

The main character Selena is a very strong willed woman who doesn't want to follow the rules and do as her family and society dictates she should. As the reader I come to respect Selena and her strong will although at times she can come across as very rude when speaking to her maid. I believe the author did a very good job of creating her characters and their personalities especially the vampires in her book particularly Gabriel and his sister.

Overall this is a very exciting book which keeps the reader wanting more. It also isn't short of romance with the relationship between Selena and Gabriel growing throughout the book. I would definitely advice people to try this book and I can't wait for the next one.

This book was well written for the most part. So why the low rating rating, you ask. The ending. And maybe things will turn around in the second book, but to be honest - if the second book were out right now I might consider reading it just to wash the taste of that ending out of my mouth, but since it's not, I'm not sure I'll end up reading the next.

Okay. This was a decent to good book up until the last 10-20 pages. It was like either she just got tired and was like the author suddenly got jaded and took it out on all her characters, or she cut the book off before finishing out the plot... cut off the last third of or half the book and is making it into a second.

I hate to give it such a low rating. If the last few pages had been different it would have been a 3 or 4 star rating. I'm not the type who can't get past a book without a HEA. Sometimes the only ending is devastating, but that wasn't the case here, the ending and the rest of the book were completely out of sorts.

I enjoyed this book. I really enjoy historical fiction books and i felt that Aryn did a wonderful job of portraying society of the past. I was saddened that this was a vampire novel i have to say. At first i realized what the secret was and was let down slightly however as the book went along i was not let down so to say by the plot, Actually i ended up really enjoying it despite my reservations. The vampire society structure really interests me and i am hoping that the second book elaborates on that. I rushed to see if the second installment was available and sadly it was not! When it is available i will be reading it.
i would recommend this book to anyone that likes historical fiction and likes vampire romance.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book - it incorporated an historical setting with a supernatural theme - two of my favourite subjects! The author has done an excellent job with this book as I cant imagine setting a book in another era is a particularly easy thing to do, and for the most part has seemed to stay true to the Era. I enjoyed this books characters, especially Selina and her Aunt Jo who aren't fond of following the current conventions. I enjoyed Gabriel too but felt he could have had a little more strength in character. All in all an enjoyable, unpredictable read and I am so glad it is a trilogy and am eager to read the next installment.

This book was given to me by author in exchange for a honest review.

When I started this book, I wasn't really sure what to expect. It started out like many historical romance books I've read, so I took my time at first. Once it started introducing the vampires/Dhampir characters, it picked rather quickly and I couldn't put it down. I found myself really into the characters. It's rare when I find a book that has both of my favorite genres combined, especially with the author trying to make it different from the others and yet keeping things familiar. I did find some of the secondary characters a bit annoying, but it didn't deter from the overall plot of the story. I can't wait to read the next book.

Given by author in exchange for a honest review....

Overall I really enjoyed this story and the concept of it.
I think it was a bit slow paced for me, but not in a bad way.
I liked that it explained a lot before diving in to the dhampir and vampire part.

I just have to say Georgina seriously got on my nerves, but maybe it's just the way things were in that time. I loved Selena and the fact that she stood up for herself and did what SHE wanted...

I'm eager to see where this story is headed and I'm happy I have book two to review as well... very good story!

I really enjoyed "Stink Divine". The story was a little slow getting started, however one it did I was intrigued. I had to keep reading to find out what happened. Love Anastasia and how she decides to do what she feels is right. Selena and Gabriel are like star crossed lovers. But very interesting to watch their relationship grow.
