Sew Zoey #6

A Tangled Thread

Rate this book
Zoey does her best to do it all—but this time her fashion plate might be too full! Includes “Sew Zoey” blog posts and fashion illustrations.

Zoey Webber would do—and sew—anything for her friends, so she jumps at the chance to make very special outfits for their very special events. Priti asks Zoey to make a modern sari to wear to her cousin’s Indian wedding, and Kate asks for a dress for her State Championships awards dinner. Zoey is sewing up a storm, while also launching an online store with another sewing blogger! Then a string of surprises and setbacks makes a mess of her plans, and Zoey gets really ruffled. When the sewing gets tough, can Zoey keep going?

Chloe Taylor learned to sew when she was a little girl. She loved watching her Grandmother Louise turn a scrap of blue fabric into a simple-but-fabulous dress, nightgown, or even a bathing suit in an instant. It was magical! Now that she’s grown up, she still loves fashion: It’s like art that you can wear. Chloe has written more than thirty books for children and lives, writes, and window shops in New York City.

Zoey's friends have lots of sewing orders for her. They need very special outfits for very special events. Priti wants a sari for her cousin's wedding and Kate wants a dress for the soccer dinner. Zoey is only sewing. She is also launching an online store with a friend. That is a lot of work, will she be able to finish in time for her friend's events?
I loved this book because I like this series and this book. I would recommend this book between ages of 8 and 12.

I really liked this Sew Zoey book. I skipped over this book while I was reading the series, and I already knew some of the things that would happen, like Fashionsista is Daphne Shaw. This book really shows that learning new things can help deal with your frustration. In the book, Zoey is working on a sari for her friend Priti, and a celebration dress for her sporty friend Kate. In the works of her dresses, Zoey's mom's sewing machine breaks, and she is forced to hand-sew the rest of Priti's sari. Eventually, Zoey gets both of the dresses done and she gets a new sewing machine.

Didn't realize that this wasn't the first book, but I really liked it. This middle schooler has learned to sew and design and is loving it. In this book she decides to set up a little Etsy pop up shop and make special dresses for her friends. She learns a bit about design copyright and to ask for help sooner rather than later. I also like the short but sweet blog she keeps. Fashion and technology combine into a great little read.

Superb, I think is a good book as in this book, there are more difficulties that Zoey have to overcome it. And she have to even balance her studies with her business that she is doing with Alley. But while she was overcoming her difficulties, she have even more problems. So if you want to know what difficulties did she met with in this book, you can buy or borrow this book and you will know how interesting it is!

In Sew Zoey book 6 I really like when stuff seems to get from bad to good to even better for Zoey. Thanks to Fashionsista, she made Zoey cheer up after her moms sewing machine broke. She was kind enough to get her a brand-new sewing machine. In the books the Fashionsista has done many things to help Zoey and Zoey must appreciate her doing that. I can't wait to read the next book!!!!!!!

Maria's UnOfficial Blog: Ah, a lovely summer Saturday....... and one of the last ones I'll have till school starts. :( That's okay though! :) I'm excited for school to start, in one respect- ELC starts! (By the way, ELC is the home school co-op I go to.) And at ELC, I have a ton of fun........ and see my awesome friends, Aaliyah and Abby, and maybe make new ones! Woo-hoo! -Maria

Review: This was a good Sew Zoey book. I mean, not the greatest reading material.....more fluff than anything. Still good though. I enjoyed reading about Zoey and her sewing stuff. Especially since....drumroll please!........ I have started sewing! It was a 5-day sewing camp. I made a messenger bag, 2 stuffed kitties, a sewing machine keychain, and 3 gifts ( I can't reveal what they are, since certain people in my family might be looking at this review). So, I can relate to Zoey more and get inspired by her! :D
