تراجع طه حسن عن معظم ما كتبه فى هذا الكتاب راجع كتاب "مرآة الاسلام" لطه حسين وكتاب "طه حسين من الانبهار بالغرب الى الانتصار للاسلام" للدكتور محمد عمارة
و يذكر أن طه حسين كان يقوم بإعادة طبع جميع كتبه إلا هذا الكتاب..و حين سأل عن هذا..أجاب بأن الكتاب قديم جدا و يحتاج إلى الكثير من المراجعة و التغيير.
