The Half Upon a Time Trilogy (Boxed Set): Half Upon a Time; Twice Upon a Time; Once Upon the End

Rate this book
It's a fantasy come true: all three books in the hilarious fractured fairy tale trilogy by James Riley, available together in a box set!

This complete boxed set of the Half Upon a Time trilogy tells the story of Jack, as in, son of the infamous Jack who stole the magic beans from the giant. He is working hard to restore his family's reputation and finds the perfect opportunity when a "princess" lands in front of him, apparently from the land of Punk (as her sweatshirt implies). May is actually from our world and confused to find herself in the midst of the fairy tale characters she has read about. It soon turns out that May and Jack have more in common than they could have known and together, they'll embark on a hilarious and wild adventure involving knights, fairy godmothers, giants, and, of course, beanstalks!

Oh well, I already wrote a review for this book, but it's making me do it again. That's ok. Ummm... I really love how it incorperated fairy tales in it, and how gripping and funny the tale was. I recomend it, for sure!

This book was so good! It's filled with adventure, tons of comedy, lots of story tales slipped within the pages, a little magic...
It's about a boy named Jack (His father is was the boy in Jack and the Beanstalk) and a girl named May. They are both around the ages of 14. May is in the 'real' world, and her life is a little bit weird, but they do not mention her until she dropped out of the sky. Jack is at a farm house, and everone expects boys like him to pass the test, and go rescue random princesses. He failed. He's not exactly your classic prince charming...
But in the end, there is a crazy twist that you would of never seen coming.

(This review was about the first book, and the other books are EVEN BETTER!)

Half upon a time is a fictional roller coaster of adventure, quests and romance. Jack a farmer ,with the dad missing from giants, who has never saved a princess; when all of a sudden she falls out of the sky ( literally out of the sky). As Jack and May, the princess that fell out of the sky),must team up to find her mom, alon they way they encounter talking wolves fairies and giants. But when they reach May's mom, is it really her mom or just just a cover-up for where her real mom is? With giants, trolls and firebreathing dragon's this book is a must read for all fantasy loving and Romance admiring readers.

Join Jack, May, and Phillip as they journey through this alternative take on fairy tales. All the characters you know are here, and help or keep our trio from completing their quest to save their kingdom from an evil plot.

All three books in the series are in this set, and they are all compelling reads. You'll want to read them all back to back. There's action, great characters, plot twists, and sarcasm. You can't go wrong.

This is a great series because it's like all fairy tales put in to one series. When I first started reading the first book, I felt like if I was inside story watching because it was very well written. As I finish the other two books I felt that every character in the story was connected because has the books went on,
the characters find out that there's somewhat connected. Today I feel like everything is connected, from maybe just the atoms that make up everything and close things like family or friend.

Fantastic book! I was hooked from the very first sentence. The story was so much fun - incorporating all the fairy tales. Into The Woods - one of my favorite movies. I would recommend this book for kids and adults!

OMG. James Riley really did it this time. I cried. And laughed, and shouted in rage and all the rest. This was such a good series. It was full of emotion and everything that I needed while reading this book. I really recommend this to anyone who loves the classic fairy tales and wants a part 2.

Half Upon a Time is about three young heros May, Jack, and Phillip they have to save many creatures along their quest to find someone that May lost and they also meet many diffreant and strange creatures. I liked this book a lot because it has adventure that I love and a little bit of romance and some of the cliff hangers made me want to read more and more each time I opened the book. The author is James Riley, he is an amazing writer, and he loves to write kids books

An awesome and fabulous trilogy! I like how James Riley did not write in the normal boring fairytale concept, instead use different plots. This book is really amazing I enjoyed reading it from the start to the end. I only wish that he could have elaborated more on the relationship between Jack and May. Still, I would rate this book 5 stars and is highly recommended! Excellent read!

I wasn't sure Riley could pull off the frenetic series, but the ending was satisfying enough. The series is a pleasant adventure for kids, though it lacks the emotional resonance of a series such as Percy Jackson.

These stories are fantastic! I love how the fairy tale stories are creatively interwoven! Better than the TV series once upon a time because of the quirky humor!
