The President of Iran is assassinated while visiting the UN, and it's up to a rag tag group of misfits to figure out who the culprit is. And when I say “rag tag group of misfits”, I mean a rogue group of spies, that instead of being prosecuted for their hasty actions, are not working for the CIA as a “counterintelligence team”.

While I have only read this book in the series, I have to say, it was really easy to jump into. There was just enough backstory that I never stopped and said “Wait, who are these people, and what is going on?” The plot was intriguing and exciting, kind of a must have for any good spy/espionage story. After reading this book, I read the author's bio blurb on Amazon, and was not surprised at all to see that he worked in counterintelligence, and with the CIA. There was a kind of knowledge and realism that you normally only see when someone has first-hand experience in that area.

I have the habit of picking up series in the middle, and after reading this one, I definitely want to go back, and start from the beginning. I highly recommend it!
