Lynda's books can be classified as urban fantasy/dark fantasy with romance, suspense/mystery, satire, horror, humor and sex.

Lynda Hilburn writes paranormal fiction. More specifically, she writes vampire books. After a childhood filled with invisible friends, sightings of dead relatives and a fascination with the occult, turning to the paranormal was a no-brainer. In her other reality, she makes her living as a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, professional psychic/tarot reader, university instructor and workshop presenter. Her series, Kismet Knight, Vampire Psychologist is being rewritten and will be republished by Quercus Books in the UK and Europe, and by Sterling Publishing/Silver Oak in North America. The UK version of the first book in the series, "The Vampire Shrink" will be published September, 2011. The North American version a few months later. Book #2 (tentatively titled "Blood Therapy"), which is a new book, will be published a year later, and book #3 (the book that used to be called "Dark Harvest") will follow a year later. She also has a short story in the anthology, "Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance," called "Blood Song." "Diary of a Narcissistic Bloodsucker" and "Undead in the City" are available through Amazon.com and Smashwords.

Too funny and I absolutely love the cover!

Poor Kismet, what ever did she get herself into?

Kismet Knight is a psychologist for both humans and vampires. In this short story we get to sit in on a session with a blood-mated couple.
The female accuses the male of cheating, he of course denies it and things just escalate from there.

Holy shit. Welcome to "As The Coffin Turns."

This was quick and entertaining. I loved it. If you haven't read book one The Vampire Shrink -a full length novel- you really should check it out.

Humour with vampires: those who love the genre will really get their teeth into this. (Sorry, unforgivable bloody pun! – And again!)
This is a well-constructed short that manages to pack in the conventions of the vampire world. I love the idea of the psychologist treating vampires for their problems. This story is told from the viewpoint of just such a female practitioner.
There’s a great mix of humour and threat, along with a small dose of titillation and a spot of bloodletting.
The characters are captured well and this short read kept me engaged throughout, even though it isn’t in a genre I’d generally read. And I loved that wicked little twist at the end. Great stuff!

#1.5 Kismet Knight, Vampire Psychologist

Very funny short story. Kismet struggles to keep her professional composure and assist a vampire couple in relationship counseling. She walks a tightrope as the two furious vampires confront each other.

The author had me laughing all the way thru with her internal dialog ("As The Coffin Turns" ...).

The Kismet Knight, vampire psychologist, is my absolute favorite vampire series. Full length books are:

#1: The Vampire Shrink
#2: Blood Therapy
#3: Crimson Psyche

Good short read

I love this series. Kismet is super snarky and insanely funny. I did miss Devereux in this one, but it was still just as good.

This one was short and enough fun to read more than once. After 500 years, Vlad Tepes daughter and the man she loved until he killed her father, are reunited by a danger to both their lives.
It's the usual Kenyon action-romance with lots of angst but it's a fun read.

BLURB from Goodreads
5,000-word humorous mini story which takes place immediately after the events of the novel, "The Vampire Shrink." Denver Psychologist Kismet Knight counsels vampires. Apparently, some vampires are easier to counsel than others.

MY REVIEW
I like the cover, even though I had presumed that the couple depicted on the front were Kismet and Devereux. In fact the couple is actually a totally different couple Falcon and Yvonne. They are a couple of Kismet's "special" "after dark clients" (vampire clients).
This novella is only a very short story of Falcon and Yvonne's counselling session with Kismet. Once again Lynda keeps us away from the typical type of vampire book. This novella is an incident that happens just after bk 1. which means Kismet has moved into the building owned by Devereux, and to a point is considered under his protection.
In the counselling session Kismet is trying to deal with Falcon and Yvonne's relationship and the fact that they are blood bound. A blood bond means you are tied until one or the other is dead.
I enjoyed this little taster of Kismet, but it made me want more! The novella felt like it could be the opening chapter of BK2, which I cannot wait for and is certainly on my wish list.
So did I enjoy it? Yes, just wanted even more, I got my Kismet fix but wanted more perhaps a little Devereux fix too! Would I read more Vampire Shrink books/novellas? Yes. Would I read other titles by Lynda Hilburn? Yes! So finally, Would I recommend this author/series? YES as I said in my review of The Vampire Shrink is Vampires for mums!

This was a great, fun short story based on the characters from The Vampire Shrink. Kismet is the "Vampire Psychologist" and ends up with some fairly strange clients. This short goes along with the book, and I found it to be laugh-out-loud fun! The visual of Kismet's clients, a married vampire couple, bickering and then out and out brawling is hilarious, as is the parting line "Same time next week?" Really, this was a free copy on Amazon, and so worth the read!

Kismet Knight is an apprentice witch and a young professional who's recently begun to offer her services to a rather unique clientele: As a psychologist to the undead, she's about to learn that vampiric gestalt therapy isn't always such a good idea... and that her cleaning bills are going to suck. Until Death Do Us Part is a humorous freebie novella that can be read as a standalone, but is probably best enjoyed if you've read book #1 in the series. 3 ★.

Very short story introducing Kismet and the fact that she's a Therapist to vampires. I liked it very much, but I'd describe it more as a slice-of-life glimpse than an actual story with a plot arc. Good premise, interesting characters, I'll see if I can dig up any more related (full-length books) soon!

First off, I have not read any other books in this series so I am going out of my comfort zone to read this short story!

Too Freakin cute and funny after reading this I will definitely be adding the other books in this series to my wish list. I thought it was quite hilarious. No real background, no real plot, just a crazy visit to a psychiatrist.

The only thing that really drew me to this short was the cover.
Super cute and catchy. Other than that i didn't feel drawn at all to the characters or what was happening.

two stars overall and the third star goes to the cover.

A bite-size story about Kismet, a Denver psychologist who specializes in counseling the supernatural. This read about a vampire couples session was definitely a treat and made me chuckle.

A short snip-it of a vampire session gone out of control. A day in the life of a vampire shrink. It was OK.
