Ferris has an obvious bias in this one, but it's the bias that seems most interesting. Freud as the crabby deceiver, the interpreter of his own dreams, the duplicitous Father figure. Ferris likes to add sensational facts about Freud's friends, fun to collect. I found myself wanting a more nuanced narrative thread to Freud's life.
I was very curious to learn about Freud's personal life and the author did very good job doing his part. After the first 100 pages, I just didn't care for Freud and found him very boring
