The book is filled with graphic accounts: a violent gangster made tender; a suicidal addict snatched from the brink; a teenage daughter sold into prostitution; tragedy on a colossal scale in the great earthquake that hit Luzon. There are many horror stories, but again and again they are turned around for good.

I think this should be read like Chasing the Dragon with Jackie Pullinger. Both women have at a young age had a calling and followed that calling. Both experienced great things through having that faith in Jesus and knowing that God is in control of everything. A good book detailing Lesley's experiences with the children in the Philippines though in some instances heart wrenching, but in the end it all turns to good. An insightful and encouraging read.
