Evie's romantic date on the lake with Caden quickly goes awry and Caden has another murder to solve. This one is going to be a little tricky. The deceased is paranormal author Felix Crane. Felix is a known womanizer who has apparently left a trail of broken hearts in his wake, one of whom died, and her parents just so happened to have been in attendance with the now deceased author, Evie and Caden on the lake. There are plenty of suspects to choose from. But if I've learned one thing from this author's books, it's never who I suspect and figuring it out is an adventure all by itself. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES AND ALL IT'S AMAZING CHARACTERS!!! The mystery, the intrigue and trying to figure out who the guilty party could be, I love it all! I highly recommend this fantastic read!!!
Evie St. Claire and her boyfriend Police Chief Caden Bexley are on a romantic moonlight cruise when a womanizing author, Felix Crane, goes missing and is later found dead. Can Evie, Aunt Birdie, her kitten familiar, and Caden find the killer? Will the killer be a surprise to the group?
This author writes awesome cozies that keep the reader fully invested in the story. The characters are actually a big draw as well since we know them from the start and they feel like old friends by now. Grab your copy and see if you were able to figure out what’s going on here! There are many suspects to choose from.
This was another good series installment where I really didn’t guess whodunit and found out at the showdown which Caden actually let Evie come along on. Although at the time, I doubt he figured this’d be it it, but he did take some precautions with backup.
The side story of Mochie appearing to choose Gertie as his witch was so darn cute, and I really hope Aunt Birdie might soften and let this happen. For the first few books, I hadn’t really trusted Gertie, but now she’s just an old friend who Birdie apparently enjoys bickering with. And she’s proven pretty valuable in the things she’d been able to show Evie. Little Kookie’s being the best familiar ever for Evie with her thoughts on things and ability to hide and listen.
I definitely didn’t like that Amelia character and just hope she’s not in town to terrorize the village or anything like that. Especially now that Caden and Evie have gotten so close. Can’t wait to see what book 8 brings!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the author via BookSprout, and my opinions are my own.
We return to another adventures Evie, Aunt Birdie in Theodoisia the cat’s body, Chief Caden, and company. We meet the local celebrity while Caden & Evie are out on a ship for a romantic evening, Felix Crane, who writes mysteries. We also meet an old flame on her part, Amelia, who still wants Caden. A lot happens on that boat and of course, there is a death. They need to figure out who the murderer is, meanwhile, Birdie’s kittens have decided on who they want to go to- 2 out of 3 are familiars. Poor Momo is just a regular cutie cat.
We find out a lot about Caden’s past in between Evie as a teen and now. We also find out about Amelia and her grandmother. I liked her grandma but there is something off about Amelia and it isn’t just that she hates Evie because she thinks she should have Caden. Caden is so in love with Evie and she is finally right there with him! Yay! There are some heartbreaking reveals in this one. I said to myself while reading : Oh no you didn’t! 3 times this book, lol. I love this series and this book didn’t disappoint at all. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Evie and Caden are on a boat ride for a romantic date. There is a commotion when a famous author boards and the family from his past confronts him. Things turn tragic when it is discovered he is missing after another incident calms down. Evie will work with Caden to narrow down the leads to find out who was the culprit. There are many strands they have to make sense of before they can determine who did it. There is also the appearance of a new witch in town that has a dark history and a connection to Caden, which has Evie's senses going off. She senses there is more to this witch than meets the eye and a sense of danger.
This was another great read from the author. You will be kept guessing as to who really did it. Was it the new mysterious witch or someone closer to him? You will also be drawn into Evie and her dynamic with her familiar and those around her. You will be drawn into the story and world, and you will be surprised when the book is done. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Our heroine is rather enjoying her date right up until the murder occurs. Whether it was magical or purely mundane, our heroine is determined to get to the bottom of it before anyone else's dates get messed up. Or worse.
This is book seven of the series, but is works just fine as a standalone.
This is a cozy witch mystery, one of my current favorite genres. The story is well written and easy to read with a simple small town setting that isn't actually that simple (although it is small). Our characters are well developed and have all the expected quirky traits of the genre. The mystery is a good one with some nice twists and turns along the way, as well as a bit of comic relief. Overall, I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more in the series.
Highly recommended.

Angry Wife When a heated confrontation ensues between renowned author Felix Crane and grieving parents, who blame him for their daughter's tragic demise, the atmosphere grows increasingly sinister. Suddenly, Felix vanishes from the boat, only to be discovered lifeless shortly after. Convinced that sinister forces are at play, Evie must summon her powers and rely on the aid of her mischievous kitten familiar, her eccentric Aunt Birdie, and her cantankerous neighbor Gertie. It was an angry wife who did the deed. The culprit was that of the wife of the man who was dead. I borrowed this book from KindleUnlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
Evie and her boyfriend Police Chief Caden go on a cruise where author Felix gets into an argument and a short time later he is floating in the water. Evie and her entourage of friends and familiars sniff out the villain among fun and dramatic situations and banter. Loved the characters and the storyline as it kept me laughing and reading quickly to see what happened next. Terrific sleuthing up to the surprise ending.

A gorgeous witch Evie hadn't met before appears on the scene, and of course she has a thing for Caden.
is a love spell snagged in the details somehow? other dark practices? or simple girlie jealousy?
as death pops up, along with multiple jealousies, competitiveness, and friendly and not so friendly friction, things stay interesting- maybe a lake monster visit might make things even more drama and fun packed!
Evie and Caden were dating and were on a moonlight cruise where Felix and parents blamed him for Felix’s sister’s death. Felix came up missing from the boat and found dead. Evie with her aunt Birdie got to the bottom of it and solved the case.

Overall an alright read, good characters as usual. The new character introduced in this book was the cliched still in love with the police chief ex girlfriend 🙄. Hopefully she's not in the next book but something tells me that cliche is just starting. Either way I'm looking forward to the next book.
This series just keeps getting better and better. Kookie is such an adorable little familiar. I love how she’s helping Evie with the investigating. I don’t like the addition of Amelia to the mix. I can already tell I’m going to be seething with what she’s going to do in future books. Ugh! Evie is good, so light will overrule Amelia’s dark.
This was quite twisty and I loved that it kept me guessing a bit, I did get some of the solution but not all. Caden and Evie are delightful with an added Kookie they make me smile, he is patient with her and also seems to appreciate her help even if he worries for her safety. Another wonderful and intriguing plot.
These books are amazing. I've read seven so far and loved every one of them. I'll be sad when I get to the end of the series. Cindy Stark is a wonderful author you'll be happy to choose any one of her books and you won't be disappointed with any book you choose. Thank you Cindy for all the hours of entertainment you've given me. Marlana Meloche.
I highly recommend reading this story as well as the rest of the series. Fantastic writing & awesome characters will keep you turning the pages quickly. I look forward to reading the next book.
Don’t know this series yet? Why not? Because it is the best!!! If you like magic, light-hearted humor and cats, this is the series for you. I really felt Evie’s feelings too, and that is such a feat. This installment might just be the best Stark-book yet!
This time everyone is wondering if there is a monster in the lake and for food reason. As Caden and Evie is solving another murder, wedding bells maybe in the future.
Enchanted Cookies (Cookie Corner Paranormal Cozy Mysteries Book 7) by Cindy Stark. Evie and Caden go for a romantic boat ride on the lake but the evening turns sour when one of the other passengers disappears, to be found later floating face down in the water.
Love when magic and mystery are combined and she is a master. Looking for a great afternoon grab this book. Love, witches, and murder mystery who can lose.
I've always enjoyed reading Cindy Stark's stories. I really liked these characters and the plot. So looking forward to reading the next installment of this series.
Another fun and witchy book. Love these stories and the characters. The kittens are so cute and cuddly. Imagine really having one that could talk to you.
