No One to Trust is at least the ninth book I've read by Lynette Eason and the first book in her new series, Hidden Identity. I thought it was a very good read and one thought that kept coming to mind while I was reading was "This is so good!!".
Right from the first sentence, my attention was grabbed. I loved the writing style and how the chapters ended with you wanting to start the next one right away. No One To Trust was one of those reads that I did not want to put down and, whenever I had to, I eagerly anticipated getting back to it!
I loved the characters and the plot. I love stories with people who are in the WITSEC program, so that aspect was very interesting to me. I also liked that the main characters were already married, though things became rocky because of lies/betrayal.
Overall, a fantastic romantic suspense novel! The sneak peek to book two at the end of this novel makes me excited to read that book when it releases. I definitely recommend No One To Trust to fans of romantic suspense novels.

The days to follow are an extremely fast paced journey of discovering who her husband really is, and why not only is her life in danger, but also the life of her spoiled, selfish sister.
I enjoyed the arc of restoration of a marriage built on lies, falling apart and being rebuilt in Christ.

That was a doozy of a story and honestly, I waffled so much between loving and hating characters and wondering what in the world was going to happen next. XD Almost too many betrayals there, it was hard to keep up. Though, I guess the title of the book should have clued me in on that one. XD
Characters:
David was great...I loved how devoted he was to protecting Summer, his repeated apologize for what he'd dragged her into, for lying to her, he was so sincere y'all! I don't know how she stayed mad at him as long as she did. XD He was such a good guy, now, I mean his past was pretty iffy, but he explained it all as best he could and I just loved him the more I learned!
Summer was a good character...was I made at her for not forgiving David, yes. Did I get frustrated with her, also yes...but she just found out her whole life was a lie and I guess I can cut her some slack. XD
I loved Mike! *tears*
Adam and Chase were cool! I'd love more of Chase...is there more somewhere?!
The villain creeped me out...majorly. But just because he had snacks and was heartless...
Themes:
God can use even the most painful moments for good.
Romance:
Mentions of kisses and wanting to kiss, wanting to hold his wife, etc. But nothing overally detailed and they are married.
Language:
N/A
Violence/Gore:
Mentions of car wrecks (3 over the course of the story), a bomb in a hotel, shooting, guns, an explosion, snakes, death by snakes, broken limb, broken/bruised ribs...and that about covers it. A few people get shot and mentions of characters being covered in blood, but not detailed descriptions.
Also some mentions of past cases of child abuse that might be triggering for some.
Overall:
This book took a lot of unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed it for the most part though all the betrayals had my head spinning. XD
But still, it was super fast paced and just great!
Recommend for ages: 15+

Wow! That was intense!
I really enjoyed this action-filled suspense from Eason! I loved how it wasn't your typical romantic suspense, instead focusing on a married couple. I did predict a few things early on in the book, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. I loved all the characters, from David and Summer, to Mike, Adam, Chase, and Ron. Amidst the action, there was a lot of heartwarming\heart wrenching moments that only made the story more fabulous.
There is quite a bit of violence, and some creepy elements. That is the main reason I docked a star; this rates pretty high up there on my creepy-scale. ;)
All in all, another fabulous one from Eason!
Recommended for ages 15+ for intense action, violence, death, and mild romance.

This was a great introduction to Eason's writing, with an action-packed mystery that has, quite literally, a whole bunch of people that the heroine can't trust. Can she and her husband survive? Will their relationship be forever shattered by his hidden past, and is going with him going to keep her alive or put her in more danger?
The only things that bugged me was that David Hackett quite suddenly became Hatchett in the last chapter. It's a huge pet peeve when characters change names.

This is a great book with edge of your seat suspense and plenty of emotion to keep you engaged all the way to the end.

Synopsis: Summer Abernathy has had the biggest shock of her life. Not only does she find out that her husband, Kyle, is not who she thought he was, but three men come to her house when he isn't home, and threaten to shoot her dead if she doesn't give them a certain laptop with a flash drive, about both of which she knew nothing. A maze of conspiracy unfolds, and it's going to take everything Summer has to keep herself, Kyle, and everyone she loves safe...because someone will stop at nothing to get what he wants, no matter how many lives he has to take in the process.
My Review: What a crazy ride! I rarely give books--well, really, any media--a perfect rating, but this one definitely deserves it! I'm looking forward to reading the sequels! The ironic thing is: I doubt I would have discovered the eBook version of this from my local library if I hadn't been stuck at home due to the Corona virus! Crazy, huh?

Soooo good🫶 I think my favorite part was that instead of being about a couple falling in love, it was about a very much in-love married couple that worked through their issues (and for once, their marriage problems weren't infidelity🙌)

Wow! This is one terrific read! In No One to Trust, the action and suspense get started and just don't let up.
What would you do if you woke up one morning to discover that your husband was missing? How about if there were very bad men threatening you and telling you that the man you married is not who you think he is? Well, that is just the beginning of what Summer Abernathy has to deal with. Who is Kyle Abernathy and why did he lie to her?
The author takes us on a real adventure with No One to Trust. She did such an excellent job of telling the story through both of the main characters. I could really feel for both of them and understand the emotions and concerns they both had. Even the supporting characters in the story were well-developed. I found myself getting attached to some of them and truly concerned for their well-being.
And the storyline...wow, again! This book has so many twists and turns. It is truly impossible for Summer and Kyle to absolutely know who is trustworthy. As the book progresses, it is clear that there are moles and information leaks happening and just when I thought I had something figured out, the author pulled a new twist out and thrilled me again.
I loved this book! I really drew close to the characters and the storyline kept me guessing right up until the end. This is the first book that I have read by Lynnette Eason and it will most definitely not be my last.

This was another great read from Lynette Eason. It gripped me from the start and had me turning pages as fast as I can.
The mystery around the missing laptop and who was after David/Kyle was intriguing. This book was not suspenseful but filled with action and left me wondering what will happen next. I think my favourite parts were when David/Kyle called in the reinforcements. The bad guy was also a bit twisted in how he treated his enemies.
I enjoyed the characters, there was some times I thought Summer was over the top and her sister Marlee irritated me. There was also a character who disappointed me at the end of the book which I didn't expect. The Summer closer to the end of the book was more mature and enjoyable. She had to deal with trust and also grow a backbone. I really hope some of the characters will reappear in the following books.
There were some things which I guessed which took the characters longer to find out, for example, how they tracked Summer and David and who the mole was in the US Marshalls. There was also certain things the US Marshalls allowed which I think in real life won't happen - for example, I don't think US Marshalls will ever let you keep any personal things or contact people close to you etc. There was also a inconsistency about an item Summer said she had on her all the time, but at some point she lost her purse and seemed unreasonable to have this item on her all the time.
But overall this was an very enjoyable action filled book. Recommended for fans of Dee Henderson, Irene Hannon, Terri Blackstock and Dani Pettrey.

It was nice that the main characters were a married couple, and I enjoyed watching them reconcile. Though, that said, I got pretty frustrated with Summer. I understand that she would have felt betrayed, but she seemed too bitter too long.

Another great plotline from Eason!
Somehow, the characters here are what stuck with me more than the plot. I love a suspense book that can do that. XD
There was nothing particularly stunning or memorable about this book, but there also wasn't really anything wrong with it. Thus the 4 stars. Not Eason's best, but still a far cry above plenty of other suspense books I've tried. I definitely recommend it!
Content: Some violence and danger, never anything gory. Some romance between husband and wife.

Though not the usual “murder mystery”, “No One to Trust” took the reader on a fast-paced race to keep our hero and heroine safe.
I think these characters become instantly likeable thrust into the situation that they are in: running for their lives. The action kept a good handle on the tension as our characters raced from the bad guys and we learned who was behind all the deception. I did like that the reader saw who was “behind the gun”, but I certainly held my breath a time or two, sure that the villain was lying in wait to take out our characters.
I loved that our hero and heroine are already married at the start of the book. They already know they love each other, it’s building back up the trust that has been torn down. Summer’s distrust of her husband due to his lies are certainly understandable, but I didn’t feel I got as much of a glimpse into her backstory as I wanted to. It’s hard to weave all those kind of pieces into a story like this, but being a reader who really likes to dig into the mind of a character, I felt it was a bit shallow.
The book overall is a quick read and a fast paced one. I’m certainly glad I requested it to review and look forward to what the second book in the series might bring.

Oh my wow!! Five beautiful shining stars for this splendid book. I have loved Lynette Eason’s books for quite a while, but this one knocked my socks off! From intriguing mystery and suspense to moments of unconditional love to superb faith content, Lynette Eason hit a home run on this book. The whole mystery, while probably a tad unrealistic, is splendid. Following Summer as she grapples with her husband’s past, we see her growth not only as a character but also in the Lord. Then there’s Kyle 😉. I don’t want to say to much about him, but boy, oh boy, *swoon.* This protective hero had the great balance of *spoilers* and just being amazing. I really wish I could talk about this in full detail, but this was truly delightful. And considering I read this in under 24hrs, I’m literally fangirling on the inside. And I haven’t even gotten to the faith aspect. Our characters truly experience growth as well as fully relying on God. They pray and discuss God and His part in the whole events. So good!! I don’t have enough words 💕💕

Anyway it took me three days to read this book not because it wasn't interesting but because I was so busy !
The positive :
Lynette Eason is the Queen of suspense I tell ya ! This has to be one of my favorite books by her . Her books are the farthest thing from dull ! Something is always happening .
The negative :
Because of all the action in this book there was very little time to get to know the characters . So we only get mini conversations in between the flying bullets . But this seems to happen in most suspense novels ,as well as stand alone novels . Because there just isn't enough time to get to feel like you truly know the characters.
Overall it was a fantastic experience. Except the snakes ...well at least they Were not spiders cos I HATE spiders with a passion !

This is every bit a thrill ride you can expect from an Eason novel. Action junkies take heart. Twists and turns to keep you guessing and suspenseful. There's car chases, explosions, kidnapping, and multiple characters to keep a bit straight, dang especially when the cavalry shows up. We've got almost a Lifetime movie and Jason Bourne mashed up together.
Summer learns that her husband is not who she thinks he is and ends up on a thrill ride that could cost her her life. Can she trust anyone anymore?
I listened to the audiobook and the narration was consistent and well done. Ugh, except that the narrator must not know that she doesn't have to spell out WITSEC every time?

This was a solid suspense novel. The action kicked off with page one and held through the entire story.
The main characters were both likable. This novel was largely about regaining trust once lost.
I recommend this for fans of Irene Hannon's suspense novels.

Summer Abernathy had gone to sleep expecting to be woken up when her husband returned home from his business trip. She did not expect to be rudely awakened by three strange men, her husband missing, and the life she knew a lie. Confused and scared, Summer doesn't know to trust. When she's forced to go on the run and into hiding along with her husband, she is determined to find the truth. Both about the situation they are in and about the man she married. Will Summer be able to forgive her husband for the past and can the pair have a chance at a future together?
I've read several of Lynette Eason's books before, but this is the first I've read in one of her series. Fast-paced, this book literally was one I could not put down. I loved that Summer's husband had to work hard to regain her trust. But there were also little things about him that showed how much he truly loved her. A few of the secondary characters are ones I'm hoping appear in future books in this series and we can get a little more background on them.
I cannot wait for the second book to come out!

I loved that Summer's husband had to work hard to regain her trust. But there were also little things about him that showed how much he truly loved her. A few of the secondary characters are ones I'm hoping appear in future books in this series and we can get a little more background on them.
I cannot wait for the second book to come out!

No One to Trust is a wild race from the prologue and the first chapter. When the heroine wakes up to find a gun in her face, you know the book will be a page turner.
Lynette does what she does best...she creates characters that are compelling, a situation that is touch and go as the heroine realizes her husband is far from the man she believed him to be. At a few points the action almost goes too fast -- especially at the end. But the characters and story kept me coming back even as I was on vacation in England. I had to know how it ended. Another enjoyable romantic suspense from Lynette Eason.

This is the first book in Lynette Eason's Hidden Identity series. I really enjoyed the read and enjoyed the suspense that was woven throughout the book. I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

This story just didn’t grip me like her books usually do. I was interested enough to listen to the audiobook to the end, but there was a bit of repetition. I also found some of the extra POVs distracting rather than adding to the story.
The climax was unique, which I appreciated.
The characters were Christian and it was openly talked about.
It was neat that the couple was already married and rebuilding trust.
It may have just been my mood, but I don’t think I’ll continue the series. It is a good suspense though.

Wow, where to even begin… I would probably give this a 4.5-4.6…. I felt like I was on a wild roller coaster ride that I had been wanting to experience for some time, and once I decided to try it out, I kept vacillating between staying on or getting off!! There were soo many peaks and cliffs in this story!!! Pheww!! I was holding my breath and gripping this book so tightly, only to loosen up and take a deep breath before starting the process over again….This book definitely had some great characters and content- thank you, Lynette Eason, for weaving Biblical truths throughout this story.
