This is an excellent fan-fiction on Harry Potter and time travel. It is very well written, the characters are well defined in addition on what J K Rowling had already done. And I am glad that I came across this; it made me forget how awful HP and Cursed Child was.
A note of caution though. This book is part of a trilogy and although the book feels complete on its own, there are few things which are explained in the sequel. And that book as well has a cliffhanger and the third book has not been completed.

Some great ideas explored (The runes, the room of love, the Christmas tradition). Some stuff that made me roll my eyes (THE Buggering). But this was such pure, unabashed wish-fulfillment, which all fanfic should be about, that I loved it despite some lines that I would certainly have cringed at had it not been .. Again such joyous, unabashed wish-fulfillment.

A very interesting and entertaining story. I must admit I did feel a little lost at times, but I put that down to my own issues and not the authors.
If I'm honest I did find the final battle a little disappointing but thats just me.
I also had a little issue with how Hermoine was treated like she also was older than she appeared, when in fact she really was just a child. It kinda threw me off at times, as did the whole drinking thing. But again those are my issues.
I did love the way Snape was portrayed, especially by the end.
Overall a great idea and a well thought out and executed story.

My second fanfic after HP & Methods of Rationality. And, hopefully, the last :)
Admittedly, sometimes I tend to engage in the mental exercise of time-traveling into my past with my current knowledge and "getting things right", with lots of intellectual and moral conundrums that this exercise entails :) This is what drove me to this specific plot.
For me, this book had a good start, particularly the time travel / alternative universe mechanics and stealthy plotting. Was much less of a fan of the characters, the drama and the interactions between the characters. The final was imo somewhat anticlimactic Some interesting ideas, but a lot of cringe, wish fulfillment and just way too many words :(
Appreciate the work, the effort and the creativity of the author nonetheless.

Amazing premise executed very well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It will always and always be a special read for me because it is the first fanfic I ever read, and moreover, the first literary manuscript that I READ that was above 400 pages. I liked the new elements of the wizarding world introduced here as well. Some of them were very clever indeed. The only "problem" I had with this is the identity of Merlin. It was slightly underwhelming for me. That being said, I do look forward to reading book 2 of the series in a few weeks. I felt like between this book and the audible full cast audiobooks, I am all Pottered out for now. Feel like picking up a book with another world as a palette cleanser.
