I DNFd this book about half way through. The way the characters spoke to each other was so wordy and unrealistic. The dialogue is way too polished for it to sound genuine. And if finding the term 'pleasure and pain' was a drinking game...I would be very drunk right now. I think this is probably one of the most overused terms in spicy books and I cringe everytime I read it.

Ahhh, I adored this book and I would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a taboo teacher/student reverse harem. This book contains 2 submissives and 3 dominants.

Ultimately, this book follows Amelia (Star), after her mother's passing and her journey in university. She visits this masquerade where she meets her professors, except they were yet to know that yet. Consequently, this book entailed on their very passionate and erotic love, and this book would be great for those looking for smut!

Now let's start with the characters. Cae absolutely warmed my heart and he was just such a sweetheart. Then there was Grey, who was the definite leading dominant in their little family. We also had Xav, who was another dominant, who also left me breathless. Last but not least, we have Ash, and let me say the pop quiz scene was just perfection!

I would definitely recommend for reverse harem lovers to give this a read! I absolutely love Maree Rose and her books never disappoint.

ARC REVIEW!!!

What THE ACTUAL HELL DID I JUST READ??

I am at a loss for words. I have loved Maree's writing since the Shattered Safety Duet... With each book the writing just keeps getting better! I literally just finished the book, and I wish I could read it again for the first time.

This is the first time I have ever read a book that had a male submissive, and boy did warm the hell out of my heart. Caeden Rivers was not a character I expected to fall head over heels for. He embodies tenderness. softness, and submission. He is man that embraces his feelings and wears his heart on his sleeve. Seeing the way Amelia embraced him and stood by his side like they were meant for each other is absolutely everything.

Greyson Steele is a man who can articulate words like no other. Man, he tugged on my heart strings with the way acknowledged everyone and had set up the dynamic for his family to be met right where they are unapologetically. Did I mention he is a mathematics professor. The control this man has in and out of the bedroom is impeccable.

Asher Bennett is our literature professor who loves to get creative when studying. He is the peacemaker out of our four men. He loves to be in tuned with his family and meet their needs. He is extremely focused, and he has such a passion for teaching. His expressive green eyes can tell a beautiful story!

Xavior Ortega is our History Professor who has extreme focus and is oozing with authority. He has one of my favorite scenes in the library that was a work of art. He is my man. He can punish me any day, and the way this man loves so fiercely is evident.

Amilia Ross is just am embodiment of light. She expresses and embraces herself fully and unconditionally. She stumbles upon her Gods at the Masquerade which is an
invite only sex club. The set up of this club is so fun and I loved on the small creative nuances that made it unique and special.

This book is absolutely everything, and I just want more of these characters that have left a beautiful mark on my soul.

Welcome to The Masquerade, a sex club where you can be anyone you want and no one knows who you are. A place where vou can explore vour deepest fantasies and desires.
We meet our FMC Amelia (Star), who's life is starting over after caring for her ill mother. She gets an exclusive invite to The Masquerade, an exclusive sex club, where she can explore her sexual curiosity. Entering the club, she gets her instructions and heads to the bar to begin her adventure.
Upon arriving at the bar, she peaks the interest of four men who invite her to a room to explore together. Our MC's Grayson (Gray) , Caeden (Cae) Xaviar (Xav) and Asher (Ash) , I don't want to ruin anything so all I'm going to say is fireworks explode and their connection is immediate and intense! Have some fresh indie ready ladies. Amelia thoroughly enjoys her night and goes on her way thinking she's met some men to play with at The Masquerade and that she can continue to explore her sexuality. Little does she know what's coming.
Amelia begins college and lo and behold realizes that her professors are the men she met at The Masquerade. Gray, Ash, Xav, Cae and Amelia are already invested their chemistry is off the charts and they don't want to stop exploring their connection even after realizing their now forbidden relationship. This book is spicy, sexy, insta lust/ connection, kinky and just incredible. What will happen when their relationship is threatened, what if people find out they are together, will they make it through their trials and tribulations? Find out when Make Me Learn releases on 7/14.
This is your invitation to The Masquerade enjoy.

If you are into Student/Teacher taboo this may be the book for you. We follow Amelia (star) who has finally gotten an invitation to the Masquerade, an exclusive and anonymous BDSM club where she is determined to explore find herself. While there she meets 4 amazing men who would like her to join them for the night. After, she cannot stop thinking about the 3 dominants, Hermes (Asher), Ares (Xavier) and Zeus (Grayson) and the sweet submissive Apollo (Cae), only to run into Zeus outside the dollar on her first day of college. She then finds out all her mystery men are her teachers.

Thrust into a new reality where the men that she had formed a connection with are now off limits, she is determined to continue to explore herself even if it feels wrong. When Hermes and Ares find her again at the masquerade they use less then kosher techniques to convince her to take the risk of starting a relationship with all of 4 of them. but can they make this unconventional relationship work and still keep it a secret so as not to hurt her education and their careers?

All and all I very much enjoyed this book. I absolutely loves Cae. I laugh, cried and blushed.

Maree has out done it, AGAIN!!

This book is everything and more you could ever need or want from a reverse harem!

Amelia (Star) is invited to the Masquerade to dive deep within herself and explore her own personal likes/dislikes.

Upon her first night attending, she meets an incredibly sexy group of men and has the best.night.ever!

Fast forward - Amelia is attending college and guess who her professors are?! 🙃

They all have to find a way to keep their personal lives separate from their professional lives, but boy oh boy is this a tedious task to accomplish.

Each of the men are stunning in their own ways and it's so hard for you to pick a favorite. But Cae might have a stronghold on my heart ❤️

The spice in this book is 🫠 be prepared to need a moment for yourself 😉

Maree strikes again! More smut than you can even know what to do with, and the MMC's? Absolutely love them. Theyre character development and distinct personalities really throws you into the story. I also adored how, unlike most other reverse harams with multiple MMC's, there was actual MM action that didnt go through the FMC and wasnt for her benefit. Also, the forbidden and taboo aspect of it was incredible. The scene where she went to their house for dinner was my favourite. And the library, but only because thats every book lovers dream. Only lost a star because the FMC annoyed me a bit, but hey, no book is perfect!

Thank you to Maree Rose for giving me an ARC of Make Me Learn in exchange for an honest review.

yayyy another maree rose book. This was a pretty good read, i do prefer her other books over this one, only bc i feel like i didn’t connect (?) as much with it and there wasn’t much going on except them fucking and repeatedly saying they have to be careful and cautious. Anyways i liked amelia’s character, she was very well spoken and had a sharp mouth 🤭Lowkey got excited when madam scarlett was introduced in the beginning then said she’s a domme bc i hoped somehow amelia ended up with scarlett🫦 then got disappointed when she said she already has playmates 🤧. my wlw heart got excited 😵‍💫 omg maree rose should write a sapphic book ! i would scream from happiness then faint 😭

anyways the mmc’s were 😏 all i can really say is that they were dominating (except cae), smart, caring and nice? i mean the book was mostly smut (NOT THAT IM COMPLAINING ABOUT SMUT) so we didn’t really see much of their character outside sex and them teaching. In comparison to the shattered safety duet, we got to see the mmc’s character and personalities come out in different situations and how they would act but then again that was a duet and this was a standalone so no complaints from me 😁 but would’ve definitely loved to see the mmc’s in this book be overprotective and more jealous? idk i’m just waffling

But in the beginning when amelia first met grey, xav, cae and ash, it was 🫦 especially when grey was introduced. That first meeting was h.o.t jeez😵‍💫😵‍💫

when amelia broke up with them, i didn’t understand why they were sooo angry with her. Especially in the scene when she goes to her art class and grey is there like “ WE LOVED U, U DID THIS” blah blah likeeee you were the same one who didn’t want to start anything in the first place and she broke up with them to protect them 😭😭??

i lowkey feel like ash and xav were a bit left out idk. It was mostly about cae and grey icl

this book was actually quite emotional, especially with the characters. There was a lot of big words and paragraphs that really went in depth, felt like i was reading a philosophy book😭😭😭 this isn’t a bad thing btw i’m just writing what i thought and felt while reading ☺️

wish there was a bit of angst and grovelling from the mmc’s side to amelia😵‍💫ANYWAYS THE SMUT. It was amazing. It was well written, spicy, detailed and kinky since it’s mostly bdsm yayy!! There was dp, piercings😏, bondage, so much spanking, flogging and so much dirty talking🙈. There’s more but all you need to know is that smut was good and that we were fed good once again 🥳 I really did like the bdsm and the student/teacher aspect of this book.

Pretty quick and good read !

smut rating 🌶️🌶️🌶️: 4/5
plot rating 📝📝📝: 4/5
romance rating ❤️❤️❤️: 3.8/5
enjoyment rating 😆😆😆: 3.8/5
overall book rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️: 4/5

The potential for something really amazing

Poetic and elegant BDSM and RH books can be difficult, especially when you throw in the risks of student/professors relationships. Ms. Rose has a wonderful premise with this story. The characters are individually developed but within the relationship of the polygroup so there isn't a conflict between the MMCs. The FMC is also nicely developed. It is a world that is full of potential not only for the mains but for the development of side characters to have their own books, as well. The smexxy scenes are hot, and frequent enough to keep you on edge but not so frequent it's gratuitous within the world the author has created. The BDSM interactions reasonable and consensual. There is so much story that could be told of the characters, more world building just waiting to happen. There is so much to work with in her world. I really want to love this book. I really do.

However, there are literally pages of repetitive paragraphs like the author couldn't quite settle on one prose so she duplicated it in different words, frequently, almost to the point of distraction and almost feeling like filler to meet a word count. It even happened in succeeding paragraphs almost as if she took the adage "tell em what you're going to tell em, tell em, then tell em what you told em", which is fantastic for newspaper reporting and scholarly endeavors, and less so in the romance and erotica genres.

The author often failed to let the characters move dialogue along, rather allowing them to just repeat themselves to show the depth of feeling or understanding. It feels a little like a novella that has the heart of a novel around the unnecessary duplication, leaving the story only half told.

And more than once, the author failed to allow the MMCs to remember that the FMC was dealing with everything alone while they had their pre-established polygroup to rely on, even though they were fully capable of realizing and understanding the situation. They were not *alphaholes*, they were not *broken* characters, so this slip of character was somewhat startling in it key placement at the culmination of the underlying arch.

I am glad I read the book. It has so much potential to be truly amazing. And I would really like to see it developed further into the book it really could be. (September 2023).

In a refreshing change from the usual professor/student trope this book focuses on an older student who has returned to education after taking time out to care for her sick mother. I really liked the more mature female (only by a few years) as a main lead as it made her BDSM journey seem more genuine and her thoughts and desires seemed to hold more strength as she was a formidable woman who knows her own mind rather than the young, sweet and naive submissive that usual females in this trope are.

The author has the excitement for The Masquerade building right from the very beginning and every moment is deliciously described building up not only the world in which the book takes place but the energy, tension and sexual chemistry not just within the main characters relationships but in interactions with other people within The Masquerade too such as Madam Scarlett and the security teams.

BDSM varies from scene to scene and by having three Dominant men and two submissives in this book we got to experience very different scenes be they one on one M to F or involving all 5 people in what can only be described as some very hot scenes that include male on male as well as typical m/f relations. The descriptions and language used really made for an erotic read with a mix of dirty talk and actual sexual acts.

The book is not all about sex and BDSM there are genuine romantic feelings involved throughout the book and the different emotions portrayed by each character really made them all very likable not to mention the fact the main male leads weren’t afraid to show their emotions in some very tender moments. It was nice to see men who appear strong and heavily masculine show their softer sides too.

Ok I’ve never been more engrossed in a book than this one!! Literally hooked from page one and I couldn’t put it down!!! I seriously need like a whole series on this group and I want to know every detail of their futures! Like I finished the book and was so sad it wasn’t longer!!! I loved it so much! The spicy was HOTTTT and it just kept coming.

There were many parts I loved about the book, but one of the main things I loved about Masquerade was that “Star” got to decide who she wanted to become. The club allowed her to step out and take control over who she was and what she wanted. Now I’m sure if my professors in college looked like they were described in this book, I definitely would drop out on the first day! I loved that we saw each couple’s connection to each other and it showed that even though “Apollo” was submissive, we also got to see him taking charge over his feelings. I loved how we also saw how the other men also showed their feelings toward both “Star” and “Apollo” outside of their submissive roles and it really showed the connection they all had as a whole.

I can not wait to see what comes next from Maree and devour that book as well!

Another amazing book by Maree Rose. A story about experiencing and exploring your true inner self. Amelia finds herself finally exploring her desires at the same time that she is exploring her mind by attending university.

The exploration of her desires leads her to attend the Masquerade where she meets four men. Three doms and one submissive .. the connection is real. The night is 🥵 and they part ways .. each thinking of the others.

The exploration of her mind leads her to attend the University and her first day she finds herself in front of the men she had explored her desires with.

From BDSM to taboo professor/student her world is rocked. This has all the feels and emotions. The submissiveness, the letting go, desire, humor, growing feelings, secrecy. There were parts that had me laughing.. and then some that had me squirming.. and the worst when I was close to tears.

I have never been so glad that a book did not end on a cliff hanger as my emotions were in a whirl. I can’t wait to read more of this new series.

Tropes: BDSM, Why Choose, Dom/Sub, Forbidden, Sex club, Insta-Love, Teacher/Student (of age)
Kinks: DP, DVP, Impact play, breath play, praise, piercings, tatoos, bondage, praise, degredation
Trigger Warnings: emotional distress

Maree Rose is slowly becoming a RH/Why Choose favorite author of mine.
This story seriously had me in a clutch hold. The dynamics and the way the characters fit together and love each other is so powerful. The exchange of power is beautifully wrote and I love being able to hear the thoughts of Amelia in those moments and also the thoughts of the Doms in the after moments.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I felt that Ash was a sideline character and was left out a bit in the storyline even though he has a chapter from his POV. He just felt not so much involved in the story as the other 3 men.

I received this as an ARC and this is my honest review.

I do love some student/teacher trope, and Make Me Learn didn't disappoint! The spice level is insane, I loved every minute of it!
I fell in love with the characters from the start. Grey, Xav and Ash are all very dominant men in all aspects of their lives, but I really melted every time they showed their softness towards Cae and Amelia.
I really enjoyed reading from their POVs to get their feelings and thoughts. The only thing that kind of put me off was the sense of repetitiveness concerning some of the characters' thoughts. I felt as though I was reading in a loop through paragraphs sometimes.
Regardless, I cannot wait to read what's next!

Repetitive and frustrating

DNF 50%: My first disappointment from Maree, the writing is VERY repetitive and reads like sub frenzy with grown men who have no self control. Not a healthy depiction of finding a Dom and developing a connection and the level of infatuation was hard to believe for total strangers. Encounters are hot but characters, emotions and dynamics aren't well explored making the whole thing feel like an extended heated fling that lacks the depth I would associate with this level of control/ownership. Disappointed more kink aspects weren't used, just a lot of group sex which loses it's appeal after the first encounter.

It was a very hot book! All the peppers deserved!
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
IF you don’t mind the same word repeating like “throbbing”. At one point there was 3 throbbings in one paragraph lol
I understand, there is a limited amount of words you can use to describe one’s c*ck, but man… give it a little space between them!
At the same time I really enjoy the hotness and I liked that 2 male dominants have interactions during the scene and not only dom/sub interactions. (Unfortunately I only got to 60% until I got tired of all the sex without really a world build and deeper plot.)

Very interesting but also captivating with the abnormal dynamic of love interests. The wording looks like it was made to be apart of a university learning book from all the extra wordings but Maree needed to hit that word count 😭 I actually enjoyed this book it felt like I needed more so I kept coming back to read more on my breaks which is not so often with other books. For real tho it was just the way they had to over explain and repeat their emotions that got to me but I would still give it a thumbs up 👍🏽

good story

Good story and will read more books from author but for me to much repetitiveness of the same thoughts or feelings of character paragraph after paragraph.. it made for longer reading than was necessary and was only repeating what had been said in the sentence or paragraph or even paragraphs before … I had a couple of other minor issues with character development in how they were depicted at times but overall good story

It has a good plot

The story itself is good, and the spice is a level five on the pepper scale. I found myself skimming through chapters that felt like they were there just to fill some pages though. Lots of paragraphs where they are saying the same things in a different way. Just very repetitive.

I usually never DNF books, but this one was hard... The writing was super repetitive, the conversation felt so fake, the timeline was confusing as it only felt like a few days happened between start and finish and there was no tension nor feelings between the MCs.
Sorry, but not sorry this was not my cup of tea 🫶🏻

If I could give this book 0 stars I would, I really wanted to enjoy this but it was all smut no plot which I don’t even hate some of the time but I at least have to care about the characters, which I did not at all. Also how was it a happy ending where they guilted her to dropping out of university just so she can date them all again???!!
