First, here's my casting for Brody..

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!  It was a sweet, swoony, heart-melting, romance, perfectly balanced with just enough angst to keep me on my toes. Brody stole my heart and this book will definitely be going on my top favorites list!!

As a little intro, the heroine is a single mom with two little twin girls, and the hero is a famous hockey player (but she doesn’t know that) and when a storm strands him at the Inn she runs with her mom and he has to stay a few days…. ok, and just get this — he calls her little girls his Twinkies!!! OMG *SWOON*

I knew from the start that this book was a winner. Only a few pages in and my heart was fluttering, I had a permanent smile on my face, and I just got completely swept away in the story. It had that totally sweet, happy, romantic bliss feeling to it --  the kind that just makes your heart feel full to bursting.

Brody was the biggest sweetheart you could ever imagine. He melted my heart and I literally could not stop swooning. Every time I thought he'd done the swooniest thing I could imaging, I turned the page and swooned even harder. This guy was caring and protective, but also patient and understanding. I loved how accepted all three of them into his heart and took up his self-appointed mission of bringing fun and happiness into their lives.

I loved that even though the connection between Brody and Kacie was strong from the start, there was no insta-love here. Kacie's trust was severely damaged having had both her father and husband walk out on her, and Brody had never been in a serious relationship before. Plus there was the fact that with her daughters in the mix, they didn't want to rush into anything that might upset their lives, so the romance really took the time to build at a very realistic pace.

"Did he kiss you?"

"Nope, nada…It wasn't like that, HE wasn't like that. He was really sweet…but God, I felt it, Lex. Every time out bodies accidentally touched when he brushed past me and his hand rested on the small of my back and when he smiled at me across the dinner table - it was there. This ridiculous pull, this tension. It was totally there."

I loved how Brody understood the hurt in Kacie's past and was determined to work as hard as he needed to prove to her that he genuinely wanted to give them a serious shot. I'll admit that there were times when I found Kacie's fear of their relationship to be a little frustrating but I also found it understandable given how her badly the important men in her life had treated her.  But I loved Brody's unwavering "we can do this together" attitude and I loved how he never gave up trying.

He took my face in both hands…"You're not a conquest and I don't play games. I told you I haven't really ever done the girlfriend thing and you haven't done the boyfriend thing in a long time. Let's figure it out together."

I also absolutely adored the way Brody was with Kacie's little girls -- watching over them, playing dress up with them, taking them puddle jumping and giving them a ride in the limo. I loved how respectful he was of Kacie's relationship with her kids. He was falling in love with her but completely accepted her with them and was fully understanding that they were her first priority in life. Here's one of the little scenes with the him and the twins...

"Brody, are you sick?" asked Piper.

"Yeah, do you have a fever?" Lucy asked, tugging on my shirt.

I bent down to her level as she felt my forehead. "Nope, not sick. Why?"

They looked at each other and shrugged.

"Mom was on the phone with Auntie Alexa and she said you were hot. If you're hot, you have a fever. Do you need medicine?"

Isn't that just adorable???

I honestly just loved this book from start to finish!! It was such a treat to just stumble across a book that gave me everything I could possibly want in a story. The writing just flowed -- I loved the style and it kept me connected to the story the whole way through. I am also so happy to know that Brody and Kacie (and the Twinkies) will have their story continue in the sequel Room For Morewhich is currently available for purchase. I will be diving into it as soon as I finish writing this!

I'll admit that at first, I was going to go with 4.5 - 5 star rating but this is now the day after finishing my read that I'm writing this and I honestly when I think back on the story, all I can think of is how much I adored it so I'm going to go with a full 5 stars! This really was an absolutely gorgeous story. I am so glad I read it and highly recommend it for all fans of swoony romance!!

Rating: 5 stars

NOTE: This is a 2-book series following the same couple. Both books are currently available.

Room for You is my first read by Beth Ehemann and after finishing, I can't wait to read all the rest! This book was charming, romantic, and just radiated sweetness. I loved Brody, Kacie, and her Twinkies! I'm also so excited I see an Andy book and a Viper book in my future! The whole cast of characters was fantastic.

Driving home in a terrible storm isn't ideal, but Brody decides to do it one night. His truck gets stuck and he ends up at Cranberry Inn. There he meets Kacie who helps her mom run the Inn. Getting stuck in bad weather was a very good thing for Brody. He's enamored with Kacie right from the start. Kacie doesn't understand all this attention she's getting from Brody at first. You see, Kacie is a single mom of twins. She's been burnt badly in the past and doesn't open her heart easily. Brody is a special guy, though. He could have any woman he wanted, but Kacie is the only one he sees.
"You're not a conquest and I don't play games. I told you I haven't really done the girlfriend thing and you haven't done the boyfriend thing in a long time. Lets figure it out together."

I adored Brody Murphy. Seriously, this guy was the greatest. He's a professional hockey player and he has a huge heart. He's really the sweetest. I loved seeing him with the Twinkies. That was one of my favorite parts of the book. Kacie was great, too. I understood her reservations about being in a relationship, so when she really started to let Brody in, it was great to see.

I listened to the audio book of Room for You and I thought the narration was fantastic. The story really held my attention and it was a quick listen for me. I think it took me only two days to listen, which is super fast for me. I didn't want to pause though- I had to see what happened next. After that ending, I'm going to jump to the next one right away. I can't wait to see what direction the story goes.

If you're looking for a super sweet, fun, and swoony story, this is a must read!

FOUR AND HALF STARS

I love athletic men and when you throw in a protective sweet guy… I’m all swoony!!!

Brody is a 27 year old goalie for the Minnesota Wilds. Hockey IS his life. A bachelor at heart he finds little time outside of hockey for a social life. He’s living his dream.

Kacie is a single 24 year old mom of twin girls. Due to circumstances she currently lives with her mom, who owns a bed and breakfast. To assure she's never dependent on someone else again she is getting her nursing degree.

Through a series of events Brody ends up at Cranberry Inn for a couple of days. Brody and Kacie strike up a friendship which slowly progresses into more. Kacie is extremely hesitant to move forward with their relationship for several reasons: (1) her past, (2) her girls and (3) knowing her life won’t fit in with Brody’s career.

Room for You takes place while Brody is in the off season and has some time to spend building a relationship with Kacie and the twins, who he affectionately refers to as the Twinkies.

I was satisfied with the ending until I flipped the page and noticed the epilogue. UGH!!! The epilogue was a cliffhanger. Luckily, for me, I had book 2 waiting on my kindle.

While the angst is low, unless you read the epilogue, my jaded self really enjoyed this one. It was nice to not stress over IF the characters were going to get together. And even though it was "sweet" it wasn't cheesy.

4.5 stars.

I don't know why I waited so long to read this! I FLOVED it! Okay, maybe I know why. I thought this would be a cheesy, light read. You know the kind of book I'm talking about. The one you give 3-4 stars to, the one you enjoy kind-of-ish, the one that doesn't stay with you.

I couldn't have been more wrong. "Room for You" was, first of all, not a quick read. I never bother checking the number of pages, but 359 is definitely not a short story. Secondly, it wasn't cheesy. Sure, Brody is one of the nicest book boyfriends I've ever come across, but in a totally non-cheesy way.

He's fun. I liked the banter between the two of them and his POVs were my favorites. I always praise a female author when she manages to write the males' POVs in a realistic way, and Ehemann did a great job at that.

He's mature. He's a professional athlete, but he's not your classic manwhore or party boy. He knows what he wants (Kacie) and the fact that she's a mother of two doesn't dampen his feelings one bit. If anything, it strengthened them. And seriously, seeing him with Lucy and Piper (Kacie's kids) was always entertaining, fun and sweet.

He's swoon-worthy. I always curl my nose when I read of H giving the h expensive gifts (cars, dresses, jewelry), because I like more simple, personal gifts. Seeing Brody buying her shampoo or hospital slippers, and generally just making sure she's safe or cared for warmed my heart.

Kacie was a highly relatable character. Now, I'm not a mother, but she's also a very driven woman who's been hurt in the past by people she loved and is now wary of opening her heart again. And I'm sure lots of people can relate to that.

There were only two reasons this wasn't a complete 5 stars reads:

1- Kacie kept pushing Brody away for too long. They get together kind of early in the book, but I didn't completely enjoy the limbo-phase when it wasn't clear whether they were together or not.

2- Around the middle of the book, something happened that got me crying with joy. Not because of the thing per se, but because finally I was reading about a couple solving their issues TALKING. I witnessed a great example of communication and I loved it. We're all so used right now to seeing book couples split up over the slightest of issues. We've come to expect that, whenever a plot-twist occurs in the relationship, they won't discuss it like adults but jump ship and that's it.
So, yeah, I was in bookworm heaven. But then other things happened and I hoped they would be solved with the same maturity... and it wasn't exactly the case. Don't get me wrong, the separation period is very, very short and in total it takes 3-4 pages of the 359 aforementioned (they didn't even exactly break up to say it out loud), but it still bothered me.

Another positive note, I want to add, is given by the pace. Normally it's not something I put in reviews, because it doesn't make or break a book. But here, when they finally declare their love for each other, they name all the things they did together and, holy shit! they did tons together.

I didn't realize it while I was reading it, but then back-tracking their relationship I was so pleased to see how slowly yet steadily they grew closer and closer, how Brody managed to crack Kacie's armor and how Kacie learned to trust him.

One last thing, for you nookie-lovers, there's basically one hot scene (well, two, but they're so close together in time it's basically a long one). Now, it was an average steamy scene, but don't expect this to be one of those steam-packed novels. It's not. It totally worked for me as it was. I didn't think more heat was necessary and enjoyed Kacie and Brody's interactions immensely both when they bordered the malicious side and when they were just tender and supporting.

In conclusion, I'd like to place an order for a Brody without ketchup and mayo, with a side of banter and a whole heaping of witty tenderness.

Oh, and there's also a sequel to their story, which I'm going to check out as soon as I finish this review. So, of course, I'd recommend this to everyone. Maybe not to erotica lovers, if you like romance then you're in for a treat.

5 Sweet Stars.

Kacie is the single mother of two adorable twin daughters, whose asshole father left them when they were babies and never returned.
Now, 4 years later Kacie has her heart closed to new relationships until she finds a good guy and role-model to her daughters. She doesn’t want to get involved with no one because she’s afraid of being hurt again.

description

Enters Brody, professional hockey player, sexy as all sin and never had a seriously relationship in his life. He ends up in the inn owned by Kacie’s mother where she and the girls live, and they immediately spark. He’s decided to show Kacie that he’s the righ man for her and her daughter, but when two different worlds collide, what can come of that crash?

Rating: 5 Stars.
Storyline: This was sweet, slightly predictable and heartwarming story. I felt giddy trough the most of the book and couldn’t put it down. And isn’t great when you end a book and it makes you want to read so much more, because just one simply wasn’t enough? Well, that’s exactly how this book will make you feel.
Writing Style: Dual POV, first person. For a debut novel this was extremely well written and addictive. I will definitely follow this author’s work.
Character Development: Brody probably become my #1 book-boyfriend. Yes, he is that great. Kacie, although annoying with some attitudes, was a likable heroine. Her daughters was adorable and in general, the supportive character were pretty good. I would love to read a book about some of them.
Steam: Some hot moments.

”I don’t know what I was expecting when I knocked on the door to this inn, maybe a little old cat lady or a family of cannibals in the woods? Whatever it was, it definitely wasn’t her. A pint-sized little cutie whose sparking green eyes nearly knocked me on my ass.” - Brody

Room For You is an adorable, adult, romance read and book one in the Cranberry Inn series by Beth Ehemann. Room For You came at the perfect time for me; I have been reading such emotional, tearjerkers lately that I needed something more lighthearted and fun. This was it! A perfect weekend read that I couldn’t put down. What a perfect Sunday I had with Room For You!

My Casting:

description

Room For You is written in dual point-of-views between Kacie and Brody. Kacie is a 24 year-old single mom to twin girls. She has moved into her mother’s inn after her husband left her with a simple note leaving her alone with 1 year-old twins. Now four years later Kacie has closed herself off to love and is determined to graduate with a degree in nursing and give her girls a happy upbringing. Brody is a professional hockey player on his way home when he gets caught in a storm. He is the type of guy who has never done the “girlfriend thing”, only focusing on his hockey career. The bridges are closed and Brody is forced to stay the weekend at the inn, but then he meets Kacie and both their worlds are never the same again.

<3 Brody Murphy… I HEART YOU! <3

Ladies, we have a new book boyfriend here and his name is Brody Murphy. He is ah-ma-zing! One of the sweetest and endearing, male characters I have read about in a long time. He falls hard for Kacie and is so sweet to her girls; it makes you fall even more in love with him. He doesn’t play games or hides things from Kacie; he’s honest with her from the very beginning and loves his mom! What more can you ask for in a guy? Oh yeah… he plays hockey too! Kacie is a sweet character and loving character as well. She has had a lot of pain in her past when it comes to men and as much as she tries to push Brody away or feel like she cannot live in his world of money and fame but she cannot deny the feelings she has for Brody. She is a good mom and so mature for her young age. She has been through a lot.

I loved that the book had an adult theme to it. Though the characters are in their 20’s they are mature and don’t play games. It’s not erotic or cheesy romance read, it’s just a simple romantic story and it worked well. Brody and Kacie form some-what of a friendship, before they begin to see each other. Kacie is able to talk to Brody and open up to him and that is a first for her. I liked that Kacie was cautious before dating Brody. He had to break down some of the walls Kacie had built up because of the men in her life previously had forced her to have. There was build-up to their relationship which made it feel more realistic.

Beth Ehemann is a terrific writer who wrote a great story and great characters. The book does end on a bit of a cliff hanger, nothing that will leave you wanting to throw your kindle across the room, just setting up for the next book in the series and Kacie & Brody are back! I am so glad their story continues!

I am so excited to see where Kacie and Brody’s relationship takes them. They were able to overcome so much in Room For You but I know they have so more coming their way, I hope they can make it because they are so good together. I wish I had it now to read, I already miss Brody & Kacie!

If you are looking for a sweet, mature, adult romance read, Room For You is it! Fall in love with Brody Murphy… I know I did!

I give Room For You (Cranberry Inn #1) 5 Stars.

That moment when you want to repeatedly punch yourself in the face for having a book sitting on your kindle for-freaking-ever and not reading it and once you do, finding out that it's freaking awesome. Yep. That just happened.

There is NOTHING I enjoy more than a realistic, believable plot, relatable, likable characters, and authentic dialogue. Nothing cheesy. Nothing over the top. Nothing forced. Just honest believability, even in fiction. I like to see it, feel it, believe in every facet of the story and Beth Ehemann just gave me that. This is a feel-good romance peppered with drama and angst in the very best ways. I normally struggle with a guy that's too good to be true, but seriously... Brody Murphy was delectable from start to delicious finish. I loved everything about him... everything. Yes, let it go on record... I was just won over by the good guy!!

I can't say enough good things about every aspect of this storyline, the perfectly imperfect characters, the beautifully fluid writing style of this author, everything... except that Beth Ehemann owes me a truckload of caffeine after unexpectedly causing me an entire night of sleep deprivation with Room for You. I devoured this book and I'm about to do it again with with every book in this series!!!

Kacie Jensen wasn't looking for love. She is a single mother of adorable twins, a nursing student, and a helper at her mom's Inn. Kacie didn't have time for love or men - or so she thought. Leave it too some handsome stranger to knock her off her feet.

Brody Murphy is perfect. He is handsome, kind, and wonderful with Kacie's twins. He is also really smitten with Kacie. Kacie is smitten too, but she is extremely hesitant. She has been down this road before and it ended in disaster. With her girls to think about, she really doesn't want to complicate things. She just wants to graduate and live independently with her daughters. That has been her goal since her ex abandoned them five years ago.

Brody, on the other hand, knows how to get what he wants. And what he wants is Kacie and the twinkies. I have officially joined the I♥BrodyMurphy fan club!

I love it when I find a really cute sweet read. It doesn't happen that often for me because I like chaos and angst. Beth Ehemann was able to pull me into this sugary sweet story, and I loved it. Kacie was that strong independent heroine every book needs. Brody was the nice sweet hero that more romance novels need to feature. When you add in the twinkies - just wonderful!

Heads-up: This book does have a bit of a cliffhanger. So make sure you have the second book ready before you read this one! Actually, just go ahead and get them all. You won't be disappointed! :)

BRODY MURPHY

This was a nice read. Brody and Kacie meet and there is an instant attraction. She is a single mom with twin girls, running an Inn with her mother and he is a hockey player.

They have their ups and downs in the relationship, trying to juggle work, study, motherhood.

This review will be pretty brief because there isnt' too much to say about this book. Kacie is a single young mother of twin girls. The father of her daughters left her after it seemed he could no longer take it. Since then, Kacie has been raising them with the help of her mother, who she works for in Cranberry Inn. Kacie is scarred by being abandoned by both her father and boyfriend. Because of that she doesn't date. She just doesn't want to get hurt again.

Then suddenly sexy hockey player Brody Murphy comes into the inn and into her life. He can't stop looking at Kacie. She totally fascinates him and they way that she loves her kids. He wants to know all there is to know about her. So, he pursues her relentlessly.

The whole story was pretty much about whether Kacie will accept to be with Brody without holding back. Unfortunately, Kacie continues to hesitate to have a relationship with him. It was something that became a bit of an annoyance to me. Here she had Brody, who proved time and time again that he genuienly cared for her and her daughters, yet she kept trying to break it off. I just didn't get it. Every single person in her life kept telling her to take the risk, but she would always make excuses or let people influence her into not being with Brody.

Brody...I really loved. He was so sweet, and funny, and even naughty when he wanted to be. I just loved him so much. I loved seeing things in his perspective and how he saw Kacie and her daughters Lucy and Piper. Seeing him interact with those little girls made my heart melt so bad. It was so adorable. I kind of felt bad how Kacie kept pushing him away when he was trying so hard to prove to her that he wanted something real with her. He was such a great guy and I wanted to see him happy.

This was a great light, sweet read. It wasn't too angsty, or too sweet, nor did it have too much drama. It didn't really have too much of anything, even the steam wasn't too much. Which is why this is a great in between read or one when you want a break from the very emotional. I did enjoy it, but I didn't love it. The only character I really loved was Brody and Kacie's adorable twins. There was a bit of a cliffhanger which I'm not too sure I liked. But I do want to know what will happen next and since I want more Brody too, I will be reading the second book. Overall, a good read.

What would you do if you had a second chance at love but your first priority was no longer YOU?

Beth Ehemann’s debut novel, Room For You, delivers a fresh approach to a contemporary romance that is relevant, relatable and oh so romantic. Finally a dual point of view where the male voice is a true representation of a guy! Brody Murphy is an athlete, a mama’s boy and an alpha male all wrapped into one swoon worthy, butterfly inducing package. Kacie Jensen is a young mom whose heart and soul are what every woman wishes to emulate. Her fierce devotion and selflessness are what female readers of this genre will identify with the most.

Through a chance meeting, their paths cross and it is anything but smooth sailing as their journey towards love and happiness ensues. I laughed, I cried, I gasped and I sighed. I experienced the gut wrenching pains and the belly warming flutters as I devoured this book, unable to get to the next page fast enough and always wanting more.

The spectrum of support characters is stellar. I mean, astronomically amazing. Starting with Kacie’s goofy and fun-loving best friends, their unwavering support is both endearing and heart-warming. The moms. Oh my god…I love the moms! Both Brody and Kacie’s moms add such realness to the story. The impact of their placement within the story is spot on. But the men… GAH! Brody’s best friend/agent as well as his teammates may steal the spotlight a time or two and I pray, oh yes I pray, I get to read more about them all. Of course…there may be 3-4 others who will pull at your heart strings or send your blood pressure on hyper speed into the stratosphere. Love them. Hate them. They are all pertinent to the story and add so many dimensions. Room For You hits the mark on every literary level.

After reading 200+ books this year, this one is a stand out. Beth Ehemann hit the proverbial ball out the legendary ballpark with Room For You! I am counting the days and nights until I get more of Brody and Kacie in book two, Room For More, out early in 2014.

This was my stay up until 2 am read and boy am I not sorry. Actually, I am sorry. Sorry it took me so long to find out about this fantastic story. A friend posted, I one-clicked. It's a habit we all have, but my tbr list is huge and I try to knock the oldest ones off first. But the words hockey and second chance had me sold!

LOVED LOVED LOVED every character in this book, including the nasty trolls. Very well written and yes, now I'll fan girl until I get the next one!

Bravo, Beth!

kinda liked how it started, but there's really not much interesting going on... i had to keep forcing myself to finish reading the book. also i didn't really connect to the characters or get any feels from their romance. and then it ends on cliffhanger. i'm really hesitant to pick up the next one 😕

DNF @ 86%. I can’t anymore with this book. There are just too many things that are endlessly irritating, and since this story continues into book 2, I’m stopping now.

I don’t usually rate books I DNF, but I feel that I’ve read enough of this one to warrant a rating.

Tbh, going into this, I expected this book to be light and low on drama. Unfortunately, I got quite a bit of drama, almost all of it being of the OW variety. There are SO MANY mean girls in this book. Right away when the MCs meet there’s an OW who throws herself at the hero relentlessly, as if she has no pride. And the heroine and hero both think some off-putting things about her. I’m really not into slut-shaming, and this book has a decent amount of it, even if it’s not always totally explicit.

Then there’s OW drama from his long-time fuck buddy - of which the hero apparently had many. She keeps chasing him even when he stops responding to her texts. She’s a gorgeous swimsuit model (LOL) and causes drama for the couple with some mean girl behavior, trying to chase the heroine away. This kind of shit is soooooo tiring to read about. I’m sick and tired of the women hating women narrative.

The book makes the hero seem so sweet initially, he says that he was too focused on hockey to have relationships, that the heroine is the first woman he’s EVER been interested in having a relationship with. But wait, he forgot to mention his multiple fuck buddies, who apparently weren’t worth much to him. It was implied that multiple were in play at once…. but instead of actually acknowledging the ends of those relationships, he just ignores and deletes all of their texts. Why not actually TELL THEM that he’s now in a serious relationship and isn’t interested? No, better to have them be tossed aside like the trash they apparently are to him? Just vaginas there to use and discard.

OFC, the heroine has been celibate since her baby daddy left her 4 years prior. 🤬

Anyways, I’m done with this book because it seems to only get worse and worse.

SWE because of above OW drama, but nothing happens between him and any OW during this book. He does briefly consider getting “lost in” his fuck buddy model when she hits on him while he and heroine are on a break for two weeks. No OM drama, but apparently that’s in the next book, no scenes with OM/OW.

Room For You had everything I needed in a contemporary romance. This first book was fabulous especially because the characters were the main focus. I loved Kacie and her two twin girls Lucy and Piper. Sophia, Kacie's mother was the owner of the Cranberry Inn and their rock. Her love and support for her daughter and her granddaughters were heartwarming.
Brody the famous hockey player did his best to woo Kacie, her girls and Me which he succeeded wonderfully although Kacie's heart had been broken because the father of her girls had left them and now Kacie was struggling with trust and love.

Kacie and Brody's chemistry and connection was incredible and I enjoyed the slowly built romance. I would've loved a little more intimacy between the two of them but it's nothing that ruined my enjoyment of this story which had a great mixture of romance and angst. The secondary characters Andy, Brody's agent and Viper, Brody's team mate were terrific and I know much more story about them is yet to come.
Room For You ended with a cliffy and it was a goody which left me wanting for more.

I was in the mood to read a single-parent book, so you through in a single mom with twin girls and I was really excited to start this book.

Kacie lives with her mom at an Inn they both run. Kacie has two five year girls, twins and they are her world. Kacie is a damaged person. Her dad left her when she was younger and her baby daddy wasn’t the nicest man. So this girl has a lot of hang-ups. I struggled a bit with Kacie. I loved her love for her daughters, but Kacie is straight up guarded. She doesn’t want to get hurt at all and so she kind of sets these high expectations towards other men, which has left her single for a while.

Brody is a Hockey player, a very famous one and he gets strangled on the side of the road and runs into the inn. After spending the weekend with Kacie and her family, well Brody is simply smitten. I love Brody, he’s a bit unrealistic, because come on, he’s a professional twenty-something hockey player and he wants to shack it up with a mom that lives in the boonies? BUT hey this is my reading fictional world, so okay and yes!

Brody is really sweet and if you ever wanted to swoon over the “nice” guy then he is your man. He does everything he can to get Kacie’s attention, even though he knows she is very scared.

I thought the relationship between Brody and Kacie was very adorable. I love the little moments they had with each other and I love the whole Inn atmosphere. Also, having the two cute girls in the background is good too.

When the relationship starts to struggle because Kacie acts a little crazy, it will get you a little frustrated. I wanted to slap Kacie and I wonder how Brody could stick with someone with SO MANY EMOTIONAL ISSUES. But you can’t choose who you love right?

And here is the kicker

Overall, it’s a sweet read.

Meh...I'm going to need a shot of insulin now, my teeth actually hurt.

This one's an incredibly sweet tale of a young single mum and a mega famous professional ice hockey star. She and her cutey twin girls live with her mum in a cutey inn in the arse end of nowhere. He's forced to stay there after a storm forces him off the road and the moment he sees her,he decides to reform his manwhore, no girlfriend life and go after her.

Usually I'm all over the reformed manwhore story, there's something so romantic about the guy who's always refused to be caught falling hard for someone, but I'm afraid this didn't quite work out for me. It was all a bit too predictable and read-it-all-before flat for me. Those public bathroom showdowns with bitchy women have been done to death in these stories, they're beginning to feel a bit stale I fear.

It was told from alternate fp narrative, but I had a hard time discerning their individual 'voices' from the narrative, their characters seemed pretty much the same and I didn't really connect with those characters or get any feels from their chemistry. I was also a bit puzzled by Kendal, his former buddy - he saw straight through the bitchy behaviour of Blair but apparently not through his buddy he'd spent lots of time with. Didn't stack up to me.

It ends on a cliffhanger which I could've done without tbh, but its saving grace is that the whole series is available on KU.

If you're looking for something sweet and gentle and low angst then this may suit, but it needed a bit more umph or originality to sparkle and stand out from the hundreds of other stories out there for me.

3 Stars!

"...sometimes, even when something terrifies you, if you just give it a chance it’s actually pretty incredible.”

Well…If I have to be honest I hoped that this one would be awesome and I was excited to start it. Sounded reeeaallly good. Unfortunately…it did not work for me. Not that it was that bad...but there was something missing.

The story:

Kacie is a single mom. She has two adorable little girls. When the father left their lives…Kacie decided to not let anyone in her heart again (just when we are talking about men of course). She has an idea what the next man in her life should be- responsible, stable, grounded... Then during one awful storm a man comes to her mom’s hotel…and let’s just say he has some more interesting qualities.

Brody is a famous hockey player. He has just one priority in life- playing the game he loves. When he meets a lovely woman at a small Inn (where he had to stop because of a storm)…he is absolutely captured by her. Her two kids are adorable and soon Brody wants to show them some fun…to make them happy and cheerful. But Kacie doesn’t want to get involved with him and he needs to step up his game and win her trust. Their lives are too different but Brody is ready to do and change everything in order to be with the woman who surprises him every single day.

"Turn the tables, prove her wrong. Then make her beg.”

Okay…here are my thoughts:

I DO think it is a sweet, romantic and charming story especially because of the two little girls. However I didn’t like the writing style. After reading almost the whole book I still couldn’t connect with the heroine. It’s like I couldn’t understand her and after reading for hours…I wasn’t sure I knew her at all aaaannnddd she was quite annoying!!!!! I think many important scenes were skipped and the main focus was on how insecure and ‘broken’ Kacie was. Actually that pissed me off-during the whole book people were trying to influence her to open her heart for Brody while giving Brody different advices how to win her over and how he has to wait for her to come around.

Overall it’s not a bad book. It sweet and romantic. Brody is really great. However … I don’t think I will read the next one in the series. I don’t feel any intrigue or need to know what happens next. I already can guess.

Great debut novel! If you are looking for romance, a little angst, some steam and SWOONY boy...well go read Room for You! The characters are endearing and fun. I have to say thank goodness it is told in dualing POVs, because Brody's POV is just fantastic! I loved being in his head and talk about adding a new book boyfriend to the mix.

Kacie is a single mom of twins, helping her mother out at the Inn while attending nursing school. The last thing Kacie needs or wants is a man. In comes Brody Murphy, pro hockey player, during a horrible storm and shakes up Kacie's world. Now Kacie has to make a choice whether she wants Brody in her life AND her girls as well. And can she let him? Too bad Brody isn't going to give her a chance to say no. Did I mention Brody is swoony??

Find out for yourself how wonderful Brody Murphy really is. Yes this is part of a series, but the ending doesn't leave you wanting to throw your reading device at the wall. Just makes you want more.

Nicely done debut for Beth Ehemann's new Cranberry Inn series. Tender story filled with delightful characters that you'll let steal your heart. Word of warning, this first book ends with a bit of a cliffhanger -- even after you get a tease of happy for now.

For certain, the next book due for release in early 2014 is on my wishlist.

A gif to represent my feelings about this book:
description
The high rating got to me and the blurb looks so promising but god was this a torture to read.

This book is nothing but a pity party for Kacie and all the oh so sad things that happened to her. She was so judgmental of Brody and his life. Yes... her husband (ex?) and dad left her so I do get why she needs to distance herself and be cautious when it comes to dating... but Brody did nothing but show how much he liked her and her kids. Kacie listened to women she knew were untrustworthy and still chose to believe them over him.

What I didn't understand was how she could lead such a wishy washy life when she had daughters that depend on her. She should have realized that she didn't need a man to make her complete. I liked that Brody sort of called her on this and told her her negativity and loneliness doesn't show her kids what a good life was. But I hated how he was always chasing after her, trying to love her after she messed things up.

Brody and Kacie. I liked their story, it was well written but nothing out of the ordinary.

Kacie is a 24yo single mom raising her 5yo twin girls after her boyfriend bailed on her before their first birthday. She’s studying to be a nurse, currently residing in her mother’s inn, dreaming of independence. Not so much of love or a prince charming. Understandable after being abandoned from the two most important men in her life. First her father when she was still a child and then her boyfriend and father of her girls.

Brody is a 28 yo single hockey player who finds shelter in the Inn during a storm. Once he sees Kacie he’s determined to pursue her and find out if what they have worth fighting for. Of course Kasie is wary at first, after all she’s not alone, she has her girls to take into account for every decision she makes, but Brody is solid like a rock. It takes more than a few objections to sway him from his goal.

”Life is a sum made up of small parts, Kacie. Some are good; some are bad. You and the girls are definitely one of the good. The best good there is and I’ll fight like hell to keep you here.”

What I liked in this story was Brody’s frankness - he didn’t hide anything about him, didn’t try to sugarcoat his past – and his persistence. Also the fact that he doesn’t consider himself to be superior just because he’s famous and has money. In turn Kasie isn’t overly impressed by his famousness, in fact she considers this a trait in a possible relationship and acts very maturely and wise.

Also there was a cast of side characters that gave depth to story, like Kasie’s mom, the Twinkies and bestie,

"I like you Brody, I don’t know why yet, but I like you. Please be gentle with her. She acts like a tough, stubborn little shit, but she’s fragile.”

and Brody’s best friends and co-athletes. In fact I liked Andy and Viper so much that despite my rate of this book I’m definitely going to read their stories next. Especially Viper’s:

”I was just trying to remember if in my whole life there’s ever been a girl that I couldn’t stop thinking about. There have been girls I thought about for a night then forgot them shortly after I fucked them, but thinking about someone for a whole week? No way. That’s worth fighting for, dude. Season’s over, you have time. Turn the tables, prove her wrong. Then make her beg.” (Isn’t he just swoon-worthy?)

What I didn’t like in this story was it’s ordinarity and predictability. It advanced pretty much like the majority of such stories do. Boy likes girl, girl has some trusting issues, the ex-bitchy-girlfriend interferes to split them apart, a major incident happens in the end to put them together again etc…
Only in our case all these happened in the span of three books instead of one.
Also I didn’t think that Brody being a hockey player added much to the story. He could be anyone with money who traveled often for work and still has the same effect in the story. I’m used to sport novels where the sport is more involved in the story, has a vital role.

In spite of all the above did I want to know what happens next? I sure did. In fact, after I finish this review, I’m gonna start my review for the next one.

I've had this series on my TBR for ages and I'm SO glad I decided to join a group read and pick them up!

"God, those dimples might be the death of me. They were like two little secret weapons perfectly placed on his cheeks, ready to strike at any moment and bring you to your knees."

Room For You is a sweet story with some of the best characters I've met in a book. Kacie and Brody are amazing. I want More and More! After that ending I need to quickly download book two!!
I absolutely loved this story!

Gosh I cannot express how much I love this story! I have since purchased all three books in the series and I love them all. I was looking for a change from traditional romance and stumbled upon this gem and I am so glad that I found it!

It is impossible not to fall in love with all characters of this book.

Kacie is a hardworking, compassionate, and intelligent single mother of adorable twin girls. She has come a long way in five years but it has not been without struggle and sacrifice. The health and happiness of her daughters is more important than anything...even if that means sacrificing her own happiness for theirs...

Her past experiences have had a significant impact making her desperate for control and stability. If she does not put herself out there, she can't get hurt, but she's not really living either. Nevertheless, she is not willing to risk upsetting the balance of her life, a balance she fought to find.

Until Brody shows up on her doorstep and upsets the balance in the best way possible...he makes Kacie want to take a leap of faith.

Brody Murphy is prince charming in a hockey jersey.

However, he is not overly perfect to the point that he is annoying, which is a relief. He is a well-developed character with many delicious-swoon-worthy-layers. Not only is he loving and patient, his sense of humor will literally make you laugh out loud.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Brody finds himself smitten with Kacie for reasons he is unsure of, it's new territory for him...up until he met Kacie, hockey was his entire life...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Brody is committed to pulling Kacie out of her comfort zone. The way Brody approaches the ever-cautious Kacie is so sweet, I'm swooning just now thinking about it...

He wants to prove to Kacie that if she can trust anyone--it is him. However, Kacie is weary of letting someone in, especially a high profile hockey player and bachelor like Brody Murphy.

The fluidity and writing of this book is brilliant. It flows so well, it's like a movie, you get sucked into the story and the next you know it you have read all three books in two days!
