Welcome to volume 18! Why yes that's meant to be USER RAMSES on the cover. Why yes he could be a spitting image of Kail but with two different colored eyes and a different necklace. Why no I don't think he was that Bishie...then again I don't think Kail was either? So whatever.
This was actually a very amusing volume. So yeah Yuri gets captured by Ramses and its not a terribly good idea on her part, but we get the very amusing conversation of Ramses' trying to explain what happens when a man and woman love each other....
To no one's real surprise Kail comes and rescues Yuri and then we get the REALLY amusing scene of Kail freaking out over how to take care of Yuri...practically every page XD
What first drew me to this series was the romantic historical aspect. I loved how a modern day girl gets pulled back into the past. I don't know what it is about those stories that attract me so much, maybe it is the difficulty for the girl of fitting in and having to rely on the guy so much to be able to get along in the world.
I would really recommend this series to fans of Inuyasha, it has a lot of the same concepts.
I knew this was coming... really, I did. I knew And even while I knew this was inevitable and was preparing myself for it, I still was agitated by it. Not nearly as much as I was in Black Bird though, so I guess that's good news. And even though I always hate this turn of events in books, the drama it should create should be entertaining, so we'll see what happens.
I found this series on a mere coincidence but it quickly became one of my all time favourites. I read the entire series in 1.5-2 days. It was truly wonderful and a joy to experience.
Awww! Watching Yuri and Kail as parents to be is the sweetest sight! Too bad sweet usually turns sour for these two. Also, not really a gripe, but am I the only one who wants a bit more of them just figuring out how to be together (since they waited so long to actually get together)? I know it's war time, but I wouldn't mind a slice of life volume in between all the separation. It is nice seeing Yuri grow from Kail's insecure tag along to powerful war strategist.

It was only a matter of time before the plot. I've been expecting it since a few volumes ago, so it wasn't a huge shock to me. Should be interesting to see how this plays out, though I know it's probably going to be nothing but Nakia interference as usual.
I see from my original star ratings (up from a steady 4 to 5) that this was the point I admitted my addiction to the series. Was it Ramses-related? Who knows?
This is down a star from the other sinmply because I didnt like one of the plot outcomes..boo..but for some reason knew that is exactly what would happen.
This is a fun series, but I think I'm over the over-the-top soap opera story. The graphics are lovely (of course!) but that's not enough to keep me reading anymore.
Overall Rating: 2..../10 I re-read from teenager to grown up. Not the best idea...
This may be my third re-read of this series. I am pretty sure I read it twice in the first two years of it's release. I was young, I loved it. It was romantic. But after reading it this year (maybe +15 years later....), I was wrong. I just saw wrong turns, within wrong turns. Maybe as an adult, you see things differently.
If you,ve read a manga or book during your early years and end up reading them much later in life, you may end up like me- loving a series in the past and ruining it as the adult in you laughs for once enjoying them... :(
Do I recommend this: Unless you are under the age of 20 honestly...
