This novella is book two in the Knockout Series.

Sean’s lips brush against the back of my neck and I suck in a deep breath as tremors of want travel down my arms and legs.

My stomach flutters, a field full of Monarchs flapping their wings.

Hot breath falls against my lower earlobe and I choke on a moan lodged between my tonsils and tongue. Sean lets out a raspy chuckle, followed by, “Somebody missed me.”

He has no idea how I ache for his touch when he’s not around.

He can’t even fathom the feeling of how my heart hangs heavy, pulling, weighing me down like an anchor drifting to the bottom of the ocean floor the second I feel the mattress dip down when he gets out of bed at night.

And that’s because I never know when or if he’ll ever come back.

What the fuck Never again will I be sucked into paying for 57 pages!! Didn't see that!! After much debating with myself I've changed my rating to a 1 from a 3..To me that's all it deserves, I just feel sorry for ones who waited a whole year for 57 pages!!
Loved the story line, but yeah 57 pages is pushing my patience button to the max!! No wonder I inhaled it within half an hour!!
Now I'm not even sure if I want to even sit around for book 3, another year for 57 pages, I don't think so!!

OH AND IT GETS BETTER (depends how you look at it) IT HAS A: (look at the pic below)

I am so disappointed :*( I waited forever for this to come out and this is what I get??? Beyond the horrible editing and short length, the story was lacking any substance. Honestly, it's like this was written by a completely different author than 12 Rounds.

Oh don't get the star rating wrong, the idea of the story is good, but the book is so short and I know we only paid a dollar for this but holy moly, I feel like the story line only moved an inch and then wait for it... wait for the next book to come out again!!!! Ugh!!!! and it's a big time cliffhanger...

And Hadlee, I still don't get her character here... if there is going to be more books after the 3rd book, I think I'd advise to wait for all the books to come out. It took a year to wait for this 2nd book that is 57 pages of nothing.

And I've thought about it.... and I say it's not worth it...

Lauren Hammond continues to over-promise and under-deliver, but she's taken it to all new heights with 13 Rounds. After dozens of broken promises and pity seeking excuses, she gives us a 50 page novella instead of the full length follow up to 12 Rounds we expected. I am officially done with Lauren Hammond. There are far too many responsible, appreciative authors out there writing excellent books who don't lie to their readers. I will stick with them.

This should have been a freebie. Literally finished in 30 minutes. A sort of in-between book until the final book comes out. Think I will get a refund. I know it is only $1.20 - but still a bucks a buck! The writing was ok but a bit of a rip off.

I would truly give this zero stars if that was an option. What a piece of CRAP! Honestly. I've waited months for this sequel to 12 Rounds to come out. Waited (somewhat) patiently, based on how much I enjoyed the first book in this series.

What I want to know is this: What has the author been doing all this time since she first promised the book would be out (last Nov or Dec) and now? I mean seriously. It seems, by the writing, that what she actually did was procrastinate until she HAD to get something out and put out this piece of CRAP. I KNOW she didn't spend any time editing the damn thing. So full of typos and grammar mistakes that I almost stopped reading, until I realized how short it was.

And what's up with that? There was no depth or additional development to any of the characters. I think the book only really covered about few weeks or a couple of months in time. And still - no resolution. The author actually expects us to buy another "book" in this series to see what happens. Not on your life.

I guess what I'm saying is I can't express HOW disappointed I feel in this book and the author. I was going to request a refund from Amazon, but decided instead to let the author keep my $0.99, in hopes that next time she'll use it towards paying an editing service to at least review it. Seriously PISSED about this.

I really liked 12 Rounds and like so many others I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for this to be released. I wasn't even that concerned when I heard it was going to be a novella because I've read great stories that are that length. What I didn't expect was for there to be no story. This doesn't read like a novella this reads like a sample of a book. It took less than an hour to breeze through it and it left nothing but questions. But instead of feeling anticipation for the next book all I feel is shorted and vaguely pissed. I know not every author can churn out a book every few months and even after waiting over 6 months for this to be released I'd rather have waited another 6 months to get a real book and a solid story like she gave us with 12 Rounds. In 12 Rounds there was some great sexual tension but Sean was determined to wait since Hadlee was a virgin. Well there's a scene in this that fades to black so I'm not even sure if they've had sex or if they were just "playing" like they did the night of her birthday. And my #1 gripe with this is the timeline. It makes no sense to me how someone could go missing and no one notices for weeks? And how could the person survive that long? Lets just say when the next book finally comes out I think I'm going to wait to read some reviews before hitting the buy button.

This book could have been epic.... if it was actually a book instead of 50 pages. Fans wait a year for 50 pages... doesn't Lauren Hammond see what is wrong with this picture? There was no flow and it felt like it was pieces of a book slapped together. Very disappointed.

Got to say, this book was not what I expected to read at all...

And unfortunately, it is not in a good way. Sean and Hadlee's story, I'm sure captured more than one hearts and that story did not do them justice.

I won't linger on the fact that the story was WAY shorter than I had hoped for and I'll immediately start - I'm sorry Ms Hammond - dissing the lack of any real substance in the story.
I was disappointed and saddened by that short child's tale that was delivered as the following for the Knockout series.

I feel strangely robbed and cheated, like:

I waited and waited for that book all for it to be an half hour read with nothing worth remembering in it...

All I have to say is that

I think next time, I'm gonna be like...

I anticipated so much more...

3-3.5.. mainly because I, like many others, have been anxiously awaiting this book. Unfortunately I don't know that you can call it a 'book', like others have said - it reads more like an extended, yet abbreviated plot. I was bummed that it was short but I got pulled right back into the story like in the first book. I sincerely hope that the 3rd book, as it appears there will be one, comes thru with a full storyline, many pages and goes a bit more indepth with the story. Maybe this can just be a 1.5 or something.. a teaser, instead of being called an actual #2 in the series. I'm also a little ticked that I feel like we got ripped off a bit on the sexual tension and apparent end to that with this book. :( Sounds like things have progressed without any readers to read along. LOL Again - I really think this storyline has tons of potential, and even though this was short I enjoyed it for the brief amount of time it took me to read it. I did see that it said novella so I knew going in it was going to be short but I didn't expect it to be this short. I hope I don't have as long a wait for the next segment or I just might take up writing myself and give it my own finish to put myself out of my misery.

IS THIS A JOKE? WE WAIT A WHOLE YEAR FOR 57 PAGES

What can I say about this. Other than its a really big disappointment. I really loved the first book 12 Rounds, and was so excited to read more in this series. But all we get after waiting a whole year is 57 pages, seriously! Plus the first 13% is the prologue which is a rehash of what happened at the end of the first book. Then there was all the editing issues, which were numerous.
I will not be reading further books in this series I'm done.

Wtf. This was a 44 page story (nook), it certainly can't be called a book or even a novella. I felt like I just read 2 chapters in a book. This had no beginning, middle, & end. Just 2 chapters further from 12 Rounds. Highly disappointing as I quite liked 12 Rounds. I assume there'll be a 14 Rounds, since 13 ended on a cliffhanger. 14 had better be some 300 pages to make up for this nonsense wannabe novella.

I enjoy the series but this auther might as well wait until she finishes writing all the books and then putting them together as one and have a big book because we are only getting small snippets but are paying what we normally to for a full long book. It seems a little bit like a con to get you to buy the next book. :(

Not sure what to say....I waited a year for this book and 57 pages is a teaser. I hats to say it, but I could have done a better job editing this book than whomever she used. I lost count of the errors. Over all the story is good, just entirely yo short and leaves you hanging yet again. Not sure if I want to read book 3...we have to wait another 9 months for it.

I had no idea this was going to be a Novella. Also, if you are going to put out a 57 page book then you sure make sure there are no grammar errors. I felt like the author wrote this in about an hour. I would of waited longer for the real deal. Disappointed!

Nononononononononononono.

That was awful. It was a creaking CHAPTER!!!!!! And it was a mumbled chapter where time apparently didn't exist or where ANYTHING MADE SENSE!!!!!

Gahhhhhhh :(

Serious cry mode right now. I needed so much more.

Is it April fools? Is this a joke?

El primer libro es malo, pero este se lleva el premio.
Trate de darle una oportunidad a la saga, pensé que con el segundo se recuperaría.....eso no sucedió.
Si pudiera darle menos calificación se la daría.
Total estafa!

Um, I read this in an hour, bit unexpected as there wasn't really much of a storyline and I've been eagerly anticipating this for so long. Feel quite let down to be honest.

What I would like to know is, what was that I just read? -_- Felt like a sneak preview to me. Kinda like a movie trailer.

There are samples that are longer than this novella. I am starting to wonder if I didn't get a few pages or someone released her draft without her knowing and posting it as her novel. For half the price of book 1, this novel also has less than half the amount of content in book 1.

We got back all the characters, and the three inner monologues but then what else did we get?

I think this story probably span a couple hours or could have, because switching days or week, doesn't detract from the fact that this isn't a full story, and felt like someone skimming through a novel. For my $2.99?! ... No, that's not cutting it!

First of all, we didn't even pick up where we left off. I have no idea how they solved their problem to end up back together and the fact that book 2 ended the same way as book 1 but without as much story line and chapters is a total turn off for me. Honestly, this is robbery and this series isn't that good for you to be buying it basically per chapter. As a matter of fact, there are chapters that are longer than this entire story.

I came into this book not sure where the characters are at, and how they got there, and I left not sure where they are going or where they will be when it's all over. Only thing I am sure of, is that this possessed a very careless kidnapping, abrupt conversation and break up, and that Murphy might be dead by the next book. I still don't even know if Teagan is the rat or why they thought so in the first place, as well as, where was her 'husband' in all this, because I surely thought he was dead to let this happen. But then as I said before, the story seemed like it only elapsed a couple hours, because I could have finish reading it in half an hour if I wasn't busy.

There was no Sean banter with himself or anyone else. There wasn't the fight that I expected from Hadlee that she so professed in book 1 and I swear they got the least amount of attention as a couple than you would expect from a novel that I assumed was based on them. There was too much going on without a central point, direction or conclusion. We were all over the place, covering bases, while we barely had a present story. Just as I thought we were going to finally get into why we are here, it ended ... with an unnecessary attempted murder I might add!

There was no start, middle or end. Just a run through or call it a summary of what did and will probably happen. There was no climax (I don't count the too easy break up), and there was nothing to get the action flowing in our blood. I usually avoid 50 pages novels, because I don't think you can write a story within 50 pages. Because I already started this series, I expected more and took that leap. Glad to know I was right, because this wasn't even subpar!

This "novel" lacked, creativity, passion, direction, development ... it basically lacked sense. I am truly disappointed and astounded that this was passed as a novel. And to make matters worse, it is full of grammatical errors. I am at a lost as to how you make errors with 50 pages -_- ... Afterall, it's 50 pages o.O

Being the glutton for punishment that I am, I have decided to wait until March 2014 (might be longer) for the release of the 3rd installment, as I believe in miracles, chances and redemption. Please don't let me down!

If one thing you do get from this novel though, isn't a sense of urgency for the next, as you have nothing to make you anxious or excited to jump into the next. So take all the time you need to write the next book, because you have some major making up to do!
