Chasing Ghosts
Eighteen-year-old Fergus has been spending the past six summers in Belgium, living with a host family for a break from the tensions at home in Belfast. This is his last July visiting before he goes to work in his Da's factory, and his on-again-off-again summer friend Niels heads to university.
On a rainy day, Niels drags Fergus on an impromptu detour to escape the boring weather and Niels's younger sister. Poignant short story of a sexual encounter between two teenage boys from different cultures and social backgrounds.
Fergus is Irish and the product of a blue-collar, religious household. Niels is Belgian and from a well-to-do, less religiously strict family.
Niels and Fergus have spent the last six summers together, this is the story of their last vacation together.
As the story progresses it becomes obvious that the MCs will not get an HEA ending. There are just too many factors working against them and their lives have already been mapped out.
The story is kind of depressing and sometimes the back and forth between the two POVs was confusing.

I absolutely adored this story!! I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just say that it's a well-written story of two young men who explore their feelings for each other. A great, quick read for those who like M/M.
