There are worse things in life than failing out of college- such as having your parents receive the letter that you’ve been kicked out.
Now to appease her parents self-proclaimed sorority princess Libby Gentry is packing up her Prada bag and heading to work for her great aunt’s antique shop in tiny Elsbury, Louisiana. She’s pretty sure she can tackle the swamp and deal with her great aunt and tom boy of a little cousin, but what she doesn’t know is if she can handle the local town playboy, Blaine Crabtree.

As Libby's feelings for Blaine grow, so does her need for acceptance and all of the insecurities she has kept inside are coming out. She may have survived the Louisiana swamp, but she may not survive Blaine's reluctance to say the 'L' word. When Blaine finally commits to the three words Libby’s been waiting for, she only hopes they haven’t come too late.

This book does contain some mild language and sexual content. It is meant for upper YA readers

There are so many wrong things with this book, I don't even know where to start.

Okay all right ready set here we go.
(spoilers ahead)

Let's just begin with the plot, and then move on to the single characters, shall we?

Plot.

What.
the fuck.
was that.

Elizabeth "Libby" Gentry is somewhat of a spoiled sorority girl from Chicago. She has a wealthy family, a body girls would kill for, the looks, and a really popular boyfriend. But after living in the world of books, we know nothing is ever what is seems, don't we?
Of course, to be a serious and complete YA heroine these days, you have to have a really sad past where no one understands you and you are this really, really miserable left-out sweetheart.
Obviously our Libby fits in the description. What did you expect?
You see, our Libby here used to be an outcast in high school. Nobody considered her. So when she went to college, she tried her best to become everything she's not, like being part of a sorority full of shallow girls and taking the habit of throwing up all the calories in excess.
Of course, she never realizes how hard she's hit the bottom until she arrives in Louisiana.

Libby meeting Blaine.
This book is making me cry. Seriously. BECAUSE THIS PART SUCKED SO MUCH! It hurts thinking about it.
It really does.

Blaine is Brittany's--that is, Libby's loser cousin--"crush to end all crushes."
Obviously he's also the one she's gonna fall for.
But wait until you hear the way they meet. Because seriously, you've got to hear this.
Brittany takes Libby to a party at her friend Sarah's house.
Libby goes.
The party pretty much sucks.
Libby is not pleased with what she sees.
Britt indicates her crush, Blaine, to Libby.
Libby is pleased with what she sees.
Blaine is described as a creepy math-problems-solving machine? D:
Libby approaches the stereo and puts on "Put Some Sugar On Me."
Follows Libby trying to make Britt dance, and Britt running away.
That is pretty normal, considering.
ENTERS BLAINE.
"Yo, slut, what the fuck are you doing? We don't know each other, by the way. You've never seen me. It's just that somehow I feel I have the right to yell at you in the middle of a party. Oh by the way, why aren't you running after your cousin? Nevermind it's me who's preventing you from doing that by, you know, keeping to yell at you when I don't even know you, I just felt like acting all daddy on a hot girl. Oh, you're a failure of a cousin, anyway. Why are you still here?"
That's pretty much what was intended in Blaine's speech.

Oh, and yeah, he's supposed to be the hot guy 'round here.
You see what I mean?

...

Moving on.

Blaine and Libby finally meet again.
They start yelling at each other (reason: unknown).
Blaine basically tells Libby she's a slut, superficial and whatnot (note: it's only the second time they meet, she hasn't hooked up with anyone in the meantime, and he's not in possess of any sort of document acquainting him of all of Libby's dirty life-records. She just is a slut with no brain because he's decided she is, you see).
Then out of the blue, Blaine finally realizes that he doesn't even know Libby. (WHOOOT! HE DID IT!) He even buys her flowers. WHAT A SWEETHEART! (note: I love sarcasm)
So they decide to start anew and poof! a few days later they're a couple and they're inseparable and they're the talk of the town.

YEP, GUYS. THAT'S THE KIND OF LOVE-STORY YOU'RE GOING TO READ ABOUT HERE. HAPPY, ARE YA? :DDD

not.

Libby.
I won't deny that I kind of felt close to Libby at some points. I mean she wasn't an unrealistic character and on some degree you could relate to her.
But damn the girl didn't make any sense. And she was so fucking irritating I wanted to slap her ten times out of five.

Blaine.
People I don't even know what to say about Blaine because I actually am perfectly convinced he suffered of bipolarity and multiple personality disorder (also known as Dissociative Identity Disorder, DID).
At the beginning he sounds like your dad (he sounds like a prude). He tells you not to wear such revealing outfits and all that crap.
Then you get to know he's screwed half the town, and he hasn't screwed the other half only because he didn't have enough time to do that plus he had to exclude the male population. (sigh, Blaine, sigh)
THEN you get to know he's actually a sweetheart and he doesn't want his heart broken and he actually cares too much about people.
Which kind of makes sense in a weird way, but only once you've heard the whole story. And even then, you're kind of looking at it with the stink eye still.
At the beginning I was just skeptical and kind of annoyed and this writer's lack of judgment.
It sounded like she liked three different kind of personality for her male character, so instead of, you know, PICKING ONE, she threw all three of them together creating the multiple-personality-disorder victim as we know him.

The "obstacle."

You know in a decent book you have to place some kind of obstacle at about three quarters of the book that prevents your character from reaching the ultimate happiness, so that your readers will be hanging on your every single word hoping the book will end well.
Well, here the big, scary obstacle for our star-crossed lovers (who aren't really star-crossed, but apparently they like to think of themselves as that) is Blaine's apparent inability to say "I love you" back.
So all hell breaks loose when Blaine is packing for Chicago (to attend Libby's friend's wedding), and Libby decides it's the right moment to look at him in the end and tell him she loves him and see how he reacts.
Well, he doesn't.
He tells her he doesn't know if he loves her. AND LIBBY LEAVES.
You see, he doesn't tell her HE DOESN'T LOVE HER BACK. In fact, he tells her she's amazing. He's just not sure yet if he's in love. But seriously, after all he's done for her, you'd think she'd be at least a little grateful. But of course she's not.
How ridiculous is that? I mean it's not like she can force him to say it back. He just needs a little more time, why the heck can't she give it to him? She knows how things went with Julie. If she really does love him then she should realize what he's going through.
Instead she sounded just like a childish bitch.

Libby comes back to Chicago.
I FUCKING WANT TO SLAP MAGAN VERNON.
Magan wants to make us see how Libby's changed for the better. And how does she do that? She makes Libby start to criticize EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. IN THE BOOK.
Like everybody's actually superficial except for Miss Perfection here.
Her sister? She looks like a baby doll when she couldn't just come pick her up at the airport dressed like a tramp. Instead she's wearing jeans and heels. Woooh, the horror. What an idiot. Right, Libby?
Her friend Kristi? She got a fake tan and she looks like a.. all right I can't actually remember what she called her but it wasn't nice. Seriously? She's your FRIEND, you've come to her WEDDING, as you said, she's the only one who stuck with you when Beau (I'm coming for you, wait) cheated on her, and she's here making fun of her?
It's also mentioned that Kristi's husband-to-be is not exactly an Abercrombie&Fitch model, so she's GOT to have some kind of depth. Still her pseudo friend Libby looks at her like nobody's worth her attention anymore now that she's been living in the South.
That's not how you grow up. Not by a long shot.
That's just being a fucking boring, prissy bitch.

I just wanted to make a quick note about Beau.
First off, what's up with the name? SERIOUSLY? I can't believe any sane person would ever call his or her own son Beau. Not even Madonna.
And second point, he too was ridiculized. I get that he didn't deserve Libby (are we sure?), but I honestly cannot believe the most popular guy in college would let himself be beaten like that without even putting on some kind of resistance. I mean at the end of the book it was Libby and Blaine kissing while Beau was crawiling in the sand, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
It was like, ME BLAINE, YOU LIBBY.
What the fuck.

That was seriously, stupid-ly, unrealistically and idiotically and loser-ish fucked up.

And that ending! THAT ENDING!
To be with this guy, Libby basically abandons her future. She has a chance to go back to Illinois State and what? She goes to a community college she's never even heard of just to be near her boyfriend? And it's not even that near!
That was one the most fucked-up endings I have ever read and the only thing you learn from it is that apparently leaving school to be with your man is worth it. AND IT'S NOT. You have a right to have a future.

NO.
I'M SORRY BUT NO.
THIS BOOK WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND I'M GOING TO GIVE IT ONE STAR WITHOUT HAVING GUILTY FEELINGS ABOUT IT.
I'M SORRY.
BYE.

ThIS WAS SO DAMN CUTE!!

And soooo funny at times!
I loved this scene:

The suit fit Blaine in all of the right places, nothing tight or loose, he looked so good I kind of wanted to jump him right there in the middle of the department store. I'm sure that would have actually made his day. He didn't even blink an eye at the price of the suit, which for him was probably quite a lot of money.
"Thanks for doing this for me baby." I smiled, grabbing his free hand with mine.
"Naw, no problem. It was kind of fun, in a weird, awkward, there-was-definitely-a-gay-guy-checking-me-out-the-entire-time, kind of way." He smiled, leaning down to kiss me.

And man! Blaine is so sweet, gorgeous and HOT!

Check this;

“I know the only reason Julie stayed with me was because I played baseball. It’s no secret that she knew she was better than me.”
He pulled at the sleeve of his suit while talked. It was obvious he was nervous, and wasn’t used to spilling this much emotion at once.
“When I met you, I swore I wouldn’t fall as hard as I did. I knew that we came from two completely different worlds. I looked up your hometown, one of the wealthiest suburbs was what it said, and I didn’t know how a good old boy from the south was supposed to compete with that.”
He folded his hands together and unfolded them again before he started speaking. I knew not to interrupt and to let him get it all out.
“Then you said that you loved me, and honestly I was completely shocked. That’s why I didn’t say anything the first time you said it. But Sunday, that was when it really hit me. I didn’t want just some summer fling. To pour my heart out to you and then as soon as you went back to your hometown, you would forget all about me. Realize that I was nothing more than just some stupid southern boy that kept you occupied for the summer.”
I thought about what Meg had said about Julie, and suddenly it was all clear to me. Blaine really did believe that I would leave him just like Julie did. He didn’t come to the airport because he didn’t love me. He didn’t come because he did love me, and was scared to get hurt again. So instead of being hurt he tried to just let me go.
That was all it took for the tears to start coming in full force, dribbling down my face.

Damn I love him!
He's not my bad bad boy type but he's not good good either!

Girls, you will fall head over heels in love with Blaine. Trust me! Just like Libby did...

I really enjoyed this read but found a lot of the parts in the book to be very cringe. I feel like the author should’ve done a little more research when it comes to certain parts in the book. I found that a few of the characters seem to lack any basic knowledge which made the book very cringe and had me eye rolling a few times. Still a good read and would recommend it!

i feel im being generous here tbh. i love a good southern charm kind of book but this just wasn’t that. it felt like it really wanted it to be but couldn’t really figure out how to do it. MC just spent most of the novel complaining or judging and not communicating so it was frustrating. i liked the concept of the book but the way it went about doing it just wasn’t for me.

After graduating college I had an idea for a book about a girl that got the letter she couldn't maintain her grades and would be kicked out of college.

There was that idea, but a story never came into fruition. Then I was with my (then fiance) in West Virginia for a football game. That night I had a dream about a girl dancing, her blonde hair was swinging all around her head. I wanted to know who the girl was and why she was dancing. Then she got the attention of a guy with the most beautiful pair of blue eyes I had ever seen, but not a good attention, more of a "what the heck are you doing" attention.

This is where this story was conceived. Three years in the making and on August 1st, 2012 it will finally come to life.

I'm still a little unsure how I feel about this book. My biggest problem with this book was the actual writing. I don't know if it was just the copy that I was reading, but it contained a lot of types, which were distracting, and a lot of the writing was just not very good. I enjoyed the actual plot of the story since I'm always down for a good romance, but…I don't know…it just wasn't really as good as I was hoping it would be.

This was a fairly cute story but not really special. I actually love the city girl falls for the small town guy and life kind of story and it was the romance that hooked me here. My problem was Libby. On the one hand I really like a main character to have real flaws and not always act sensibly, so I liked that both characters did and said things that perhaps they shouldn't have. But on the other hand, I found Libby particularly unlikable, especially in how she treated her family and friends. I did like how she grew through the book though but I think that should have been more of a focus. I also don't, for some reason, feel like I trust in their future.

As cliche as the story line was, I did enjoy reading this book.

However, the repeated mention of Libby (the mc) wanting to have sex with her boyfriend and her pushing the topic on him and constantly talking about wanting to have sex with him was annoying.

Where do I even begin? From the start to the very end, Libby is a little jerk. She's unlikeable, spoiled, and thinks exceptionally high of herself considering her puts down the views of her sorority sisters. There is no plot whatsoever. Libby moving to back woods Louisiana makes absolute no since. She moves in with her distant Aunt and her little cousin, Brittany. Her parents, whom she claims were never really parents to her in the first place thinks this will help her get her life together since she failed out of college.
Libby goes to Louisiana and immediately ridicules every and any thing the comes across her path. She talks about her aunt's crappy small house, her chubby cousin, gay people, black people, pretty girls, ugly girls, she just doesn't stop. I think a point that really made me mad was when she proceeded to date the guy that her young cousin had been crushing on for years. I thought that was so wrong and hurtful even though her cousin would have been way to young to date the guy. Then she goes back to her hometown for her bestfriends wedding and she trash talked everyone so bad that I had to question whether she even liked any of her old sorority sisters. I understand this was the point in the book where we were supposed to sympathize with her and realize how much growth she's gained from the trauma of her former college days but it was done in the wrong way.
The book ends horribly but that wasn't a departure from much of the rest of the book. I would never in a million years recommend this series to anyone. I'm not even sure why she went on to make more books in this series.

First off, if you saw the old cover, I’m sorry lol. My kindle just did that. Anyways, I wanted brain rot before reading Onyx Storm but this was beyond brain rot. Like first grade reader level rot. I also found the love interest unbearable and not a good guy. I got this on stuff your kindle say for context but anyways it was personally not for me.

A piece of a dead tree makes it way to Libby's home and her immediate future is decided. In a matter of few hours, Libby goes from being a sorority princess at the Illinois State University to working at her great aunt's antiques shop in Louisiana. Talk about a major demotion! Well, it is what it is, so Libby begrudgingly packs her bags to leave her home for who knows how long.

It's not like Libby can say much to defend her party-hard-and-get-drunk-harder image because no one really wants to know her. They form opinion on what they see and why her parents should be any different?

However, when it comes to adjusting, Libby is a pro. She is also a pro when it comes to pretending but I will save that for later. Libby is pretty sure she can mend her paper heart along with her insecurities with Aunt Dee's heavenly cooking while trying to give a makeover to her tomboyish fifteen-year-old cousin, Brittany.

But Libby is like a moth to a flame in the town of Elsbury when it comes to attracting the attention of the town people. In particular, Blaine Crabtree. What is with the guy with his annoying habit of commenting on her slutty ways. He's the one to talk, after going at it with half the town!

Like Libby though, Blaine has a story of his own and as he realizes and apologizes for his inappropriate behavior towards Libby, things take a turn for the better. Now Blaine and Libby cannot get enough of each other's company. However, Brittany have a crush on Blaine (which Libby is aware of and is sorry for) so she makes Libby insecure with all the boyfriend talk. Things that makes Libby question everything over and over again for Libby has a bad experience with Beau, her ex.

Now, each small progress in their relationship seems like a burden to Libby and she keeps thinking if she is not good enough. Libby is a product of bullying and being made fun of for years haven't settled well with her. Even though she has hidden all of that in layers of great fashion sense and what-not; it never really went away.

Blaine is a very humble character who has turned to wrong ways trying to make himself feel better about himself. So when Libby barges in speaking her thoughts out loud and daring him to feel again, Blaine realizes the error of his ways. But he needs little more than a push to move forward. Libby, on the other hand, is a very upbeat character and finds the fun part in any aspect of her life. But just as quickly, her spirits also gets diffused so it is intense to see her grow.

So while Blaine is helping Libby overcome her fear of bad relationships, so is Libby helping Blaine with his relationship issues. Nothing like something that makes you want to step out of your comfort zone to embrace the better. After all, it is darkest before the dawn and I always find such books beautiful.

My Paper Heart is a great contemporary debut by Magan Vernon which should not be missed at all. I hope she writes more contemporary books. It makes you think about all the possibilities in life and how each moment in life builds up to the moment of realization. Of need. And of what it takes to finally grow up.

My Paper Heart is one of the many books I have found recently where a few tweaks could have made it great. I am not someone who needs every little issue tied up in a neat little bow by the time a book is done but sometimes it seems books mention issues to add depth but then don’t fully build on them. I am left wondering why it was in there in the first place and that was my biggest issue with the book.

Libby comes off as a little superficial in the beginning and me and superficial just do not get along. The good news is she becomes more likable as the book goes on and I actually liked her by the time it was done; the girl could rock Wal-Mart dresses! I loved how she adapted to the simple life when she went to stay with her aunt; it loosened her up and helped her realize that there is so much more to life than money and outward appearances.

Blaine is supposed to come off as a player, bad boy type but he didn’t have the edge I was expecting. He was still incredibly sweet and swoon-worthy! He was hurt badly in the past and decided that the best way to deal with it was by sleeping with half the town and drinking lots of alcohol. He seems to have already mellowed out some before he meets Libby because I did not see that side of him. What I did like about him was his willingness to step outside his comfort zone for Libby; it showed how much he truly cared for her!

Now the romance in this is pretty cute with a few angsty moments. The chemistry was palpable and it was easy to see the love between Libby and Blaine was a forever love. They are two people from different backgrounds that can come together and change each other for the better. They will have to overcome their pasts and their differing plans for the future to make it work, though!

The book refers to an eating disorder quite frequently and while I felt that Libby became more comfortable with her body, I felt the storyline to be a little misplaced and needed it to come into play somewhere. It is an issue that so many teenagers deal with to some extent (body issues in general) and I would have loved it to play out a little more. I appreciate books that can tell a story while tackling a social issue!

Overall, I found this story enjoyable but it could have been better. I would definitely give this author another read.

Review also posted on http://bookishtreasures.blogspot.co.uk/

Having enjoyed reading this authors YA book - How to Date an Alien - I was excited to see how she would do with a contemporary NA story. I think the author did an excellent job with the more mature storyline and as a result My Paper Heart is a great example of an NA contemporary romance.

I liked how in this book the characters aren’t perfect; they don’t live perfect lives and things don’t always go the way they wish. The book starts with the main character being kicked out of college and being sent to live with her great aunt in Louisiana by her ashamed parents. In my eyes Libby is a perfect main character, she starts off as a nice girl but she is a little spoiled and somewhat shallow and during the book you actually see her grow up and become an adult. In my opinion this is what New Adult books are all about.

This book has a brilliant romantic element to it, the main characters are both having their first ever true serious relationship and we get to see all the drama that comes with that. From the worries and insecurities to meaningful sex and those all-important three words. Like many books I have read this has the - guy is a player but changes his ways after seeing the heroine only once aspect to it. This can annoy me slightly but I thought this book did it well and it made sense as to why Blaine chose to change his ways for someone he barely knew.

Libby is such a complex character, she is a rich college dropout and everyone just sees her as a dumb blonde but she is so much more than that. She has a longing to fit in, look perfect and to have everyone like her – something I think we can all relate to. It just takes people to treat her as if she is perfect the way she is for her to finally discover herself.

I really enjoyed this story of finding love and discovering who you truly are. I liked the ending so I was quite surprised to see that there will be a second book, I am interested to see what will happen next for these characters as it seems their story is not yet over.

I wasn't sure what to expect when going into reading My Paper Heart. I have never read a book by Magan Vernon before but once I read the synopsis and saw that it was going to be classified as New Adult I knew I had to give this book a shot.

Libby isn't you typical blonde bimbo. Well, from the looks of it I guess you can say she is... flunking out of college after her first year and the sorority she was apart of could very well make you think she is a nothing more than a sorority girl with money who didn't give a rats a** to wither she passed or failed. But when her parents are more than peeved that she wasted a full year of college she is sent packing to her Great Aunts in Louisiana for a little wake up call.

I thoroughly enjoyed Libby. She was hilarious and the more you get to know her the more you know she isn't the blonde bimbo everyone in her sorority though she was. She is hilarious and along the way find herself amongst the southern charm she was so against when she was sent away. I love the connection she forged with her cousin Brittany and it really helped the reader see that Libby is way more than meets the eye. And don't you dare get me started on Blaine. Ladies, Blaine is that sexy southern man that we all dream about, not to mention completely and totally hilarious in everything he says. Swoon!

There wasn't a major WOW factor for me in how this book was delivered or finished, but I did enjoy how I got my complete ending. That is the one thing that pushes me away from books now a days, especially indie books. Finishing way too soon and with not enough substance. But this book hit the nail on the head and ended great. If you are looking for something that isn't too smexy and just the right amount of swoonage then I MUST suggest that you pick this read up. I know you ladies will fall for Blaine just the way I did. ;]

3 Sweet Stars!!

I have to admit, I had a really hard time getting into this book at first. Mostly because the main character, Libby, repulsed me. She annoyed me so badly I wanted to pluck my eyes out with a dull spoon. However, as the book progressed she did grow on me.

My Paper Heart is the story of Libby, a band geek turned sorority socialite who has gotten kicked out of college. This is utterly disgraceful to her hard as stone uber successful lawyer mother and drunk, typically doesn't care successful dentist dad. As punishment Libby is sent to live with her funny smelling, aunt in Louisiana.
playboy Blaine. Blaine is likeable, loveable even. He is charming and sweet, and probably the best thing about this whole book. However, he comes with his own baggage. The big question is whether or
In the beginning Libby comes across and a spoiled, stuck up, thinks she is too good, socialite. She turns down her nose at Louisiana and all those who live there. However, she soon finds that Louisiana may be to her liking after all.

Thankfully Libby has a lot of growth throughout the story. She goes from an insecure and lost young lady, to a confident, secure, grab life by the horns lady. Somewhere in Louisiana she grew a pair and learned how to use them!!

Libby is funny, even in her annoying stage. It is her bluntness and humor that attracted the town not his baggage will come between him and Libby.

This book was predictable and sweet. It was a quick read and actually became enjoyable. If you are looking for a light, easy, fast read, this is perfect for you!

Libby is your typical rich girl. Her parent’s are wealthy and she has a huge house and all the finest name brand accessories. But, when she flunks out of college, her parents decide to send her to a po-dunk Louisiana town to stay with her great aunt. Libby tries to get out of it, but, her parent’s do not want to hear it. So, she gets on the bus and tries to deal with what is ahead of her.

I enjoyed the character of Libby because even though she was treated like a princess, she also shows her vulnerable side by befriending her strange cousin and spilling her story to try to help Brittany feel better. Libby was not always popular; she was classified as a nerd in high school and was practically invisible.

Blaine and Libby were great together and I loved the fact that it was not love at first sight. They actually had to get to know each other and soon were inseparable. Both of their insecurities cause many problems through out the book and Libby tends to look for help in places that she never would have thought of before.

The ending of the book was good. I did not feel like there was a huge WOW factor, but, I did enjoy the way the story was finalized.

I thoroughly enjoy Ms. Vernon’s series, My Alien Romance, and am really glad that I read this book too! She is an eloquent writer and knows how to really develop her characters! I look forward to more of her work!

*I was given a copy of this book as a gift from Stephanie's Book Reports in exchange for an honest review.

Libby Gentry has been living it up throughout her first year of college. Unfortunately, she hasn't spent a lot of time studying which causes her to flunk. Her parent's are fed up with her, so they send her to her great aunt's house in Louisiana for the summer. The plan is for Libby to stay at her aunt's house and work in her aunt's shop.

Elsbury Louisiana is a hick town smack dab in the middle of nowhere. Libby thinks that there will not be anything fun to do in this town That all changes when she meets Blaine Crabtree-a true southern charmer. In the beginning, Blaine does nothing but piss Libby off, but after she spends some more time with him she realizes that he really is a nice guy. He is so unlike any of the other boys that she has dated, and she ends up falling hard for him. However, Blaine has been hurt deeply in the past, so he really doesn't believe Libby when she tells him that she is in love with him. As a result, Blaine tucks his tail between his legs and runs like a coward. When new opportunities are presented to Libby in Chicago, she must decide to stay in Chicago, or return to Louisiana and see what comes of things between she and Blaine.

This book was a very sweet and predictable read. If you are looking for a quick, enjoyable book, you should give this one a try.

Libby Gentry's parents have had enough as they receive her final results from College and discover that she has completely flunked out and the worst thing is that Libby doesn't seem to care too much about it. This is the final straw for her parents, and so they decide to send her to the small town of Elsbury, Louisana to stay with her Great -Aunt. Libby arrives at the small podunk town and meets her cousin Brittany - her Great-aunt's granddaughter. Libby was hoping for someone who she could trade fashion advice off but will be in for a shock when she turns up to the town where they don't seem to care much about fashions. During Libby's stay, she will butt heads with her cousin, but at the same time, the pair will start to become closer with one another and eventually help each other repair the holes in their hearts. Like most stories, there is the love interest and in My Paper Heart, we have Blaine who is the town hottie and Libby's first impression of him isn't sparkling since he calls her a slut but then along the way the pair start to spark and date. What will happen though when it comes time for Libby to return to her "real life"? Will she be a changed woman and choose to remain in Elsbury with Blaine and her Great-Aunt or will her time in Elsbury be like her relationship with Blaine - a summer fling? Find out in My Paper Heart by Magan Vernon. Though this is written in the sense of a New Adult, I found it more YA orientated and quite a clean romance story.
