Every love story has its own unique journey. No couple has an idealistically perfect road void of bumps. Not even the couples in fairytales…
Amanda My life has been anything but a fairytale, though I haven’t stopped believing in getting my happily ever after. One fateful night, I met a handsome stranger. Despite the obvious chemistry, we weren't meant to be. Fast forward a few years and he’s back in my life. Even though he's wealthy and we have nothing in common, we forge a fake relationship to both get what we want. The problem? The enchantment is still there and we’re both trying to fight it.
Beckett Everyone thinks my life is a fairytale. The world sees me as a clean-cut billionaire. Once a playboy, now a devoted single dad. But I have demons. Women have always only wanted one thing from me, except the one woman I can’t have. By a twist of fate, that woman has reentered my life. A pure-hearted princess. She’s enchanted everyone important to me, but life and my struggles threaten our happily ever after. Will she weather the turbulent storms to give us the fairytale we both have spent a lifetime craving?
*This is an interconnected standalone in the Belles of Broad Street series.
Known as the queen of RaunchCom, AK Landow is a spicy RomCom author. She’s a recovering attorney living outside of the Philadelphia area with her husband, who she secretly pined for through her teen years, three crazy daughters, and multiple animals.
She enjoys reading, now writing, drinking copious amounts of vodka, and laughing. Having discovered there’s no other need in the world for funny perverts, she’s thrilled to have this new avenue to channel her age-inappropriate sense of humor.
She began her publishing journey with the City of Sisterly Love series, initially writing the first book, Knight, because it pisses her off that there are so few FMCs over the age of 40. She wrote it as an FU to the romance community to let them know that "oldies" still get it on. She fell so madly in love with both being an author and her fictitious family, that she can't seem to stop writing.
The entire series centers around a group of strong, intelligent, confident, and supportive women. The central family is known for severe cases of oversharing and walking in on each other. Hilarity often ensues.
The Belles of Broad Street series debuted in 2023 with Conflicting Ventures. Indecent Ventures and Unexpected Ventures followed shortly thereafter. The final book in the series, Enchanted Ventures, came out in early 2024. It world shares with the City of Sisterly Love series, but can be read as standalones.
2024 also became the year AK entered the sports romance world. Staying true to her goals of portraying strong women, her debut sports romance novel, Double Play, is both a baseball AND softball romance. It's the first in the Extra Innings series, which is now complete with four full-length novels and a prequel novella.
In 2025, AK is looking forward to diving into the world of women's basketball and men's football. The first book in the Fourth Quarter Fever series will be Home Town Advantage, coming on September 4, 2025.
Her writing is known for laughs, tears, and being one-handed reads.
This book evoked all of my emotions: love, hate (ohhh how I hated you Beckett for a number of pages!), swooned over, laughed, cried, gasped, had to fan myself off... but then again, this was an AK Landow book so what did I expect? All of the above, that's what. But this time - this time, ladies!! - the cherries. O-M-G... I will never look a cherry in the face again without blushing.
By this fourth book we've gotten a number of glimpses at both Beckett and Amanda - more so Amanda because of Jade's book. And boy did we have questions! I truly wasn't prepared for this though. Honestly. The rollercoaster that we're taken on - but further, AK connects the dots between characters and storylines in such a delicious way. It just makes you go, "No way!!! Those two!?!" and "I did NOT see that plot twist coming!" And you get so many "A-ha!" moments and I love that. It adds such a depth to all of the stories, how AK manages to intertwine them - but don't fret, these can all be read as standalone, but if you're reading the series.... ohhh my goodness, it's like a dirty and funny Easter egg hunt. And my basket is overflowing! ;)
But this book also infuriated me. I truly - truly - hated Beckett for many pages. Normally I don't hate AK's main characters even despite stupid decisions being made. So there's a first for everything. But Becket... Ohhh Beckett. He is so yummy in all the right ways, and surprising too! You truly like him, admire him even, but then your heart hurts for him, and you swoon for all of his sweetness and consideration, and his bedroom eyes? Giiiiiiiirl! So Beckett is really a masterful package of a man - and we are ALL for it.
And then I hated him.
But don't worry, AK made the redemption ohhhh sooooo sweet - with a cherry on top. It made all the hate worth it. But in those moments, in the moments that I hated him, I loved how Amanda's character reacted and how she took her power in those moments - so in effect those moments where I felt hate, they really helped highlight Amanda and made her shine. And that's another thing, Amanda... I didn't expect her to be such an interesting, compelling and complicated character. We of course know the depths at which AK's characters are and the deeper meanings in her stories, and the fact that we already had a plethora of information about Amanda and her back story - yet I was still surprised by her. She's a romantic and believes in fairytales - and I truly loved that about her. It so fits her artistic character and she's whimsical in the best way, and I truly loved that she always believes the best - she's genuinely kind. And talking about her love of fairytales and all things whimsy, just look at her name for Pete's sake! But then AK came in and ruined the Disney-type-fairytales for me. And she's not even sorry about it! Thanks a lot, AK! (I can just envision her chuckling and shrugging and throwing out a "sorry-not-sorry"... seems about right).
That said, this book can be viewed as a bit of a modern day twist on fairytales, one that's complicated, and messy, and has many layers. It's not all just flowers and happy, shiny things. Life is messy. And this book highlights that, but amidst the mess - life can be beautiful. And for me, this book once again is an amazing commentary on life: despite the difficult parts of life, it can be beautiful and amazing, but it's up to us - and what we do with our lives, the choices we make. We are the masters of our destinies, and it is up to us to be the creators of our own fairytales. Thank you AK for bringing us the fairytale for this day and age... it'll take me a minute to leave Cinderella and Ariel behind, but Amanda makes for an amazing AK Landow princess, one that many a woman can look up to - cherries included.
I’m sad that this is the final book in The Belles of Broad Street Series because you can’t help but love them all. They have all been amazing in their own right, but boy, what a book this was. It had it all and so much more that we have come to love from an AK book.
FIVE STARS ARE JUST NOT ENOUGH!!!!
If you haven’t read any of AK’s books download now, believe me, you won’t regret it. I have read every book she has published,
I’m not sure how she does it, but each book just keeps getting better. Start at the beginning with Knight, which is the first book of the City of Sisterly Love Series.
Right back to the book, I have just devoured twice🤣🤣🤣 This book starts with a WARNING from AK, and believe me when I say take note cos boy is it right……
Beckett Windsor, as flaws you could lose yourself in, buckle up for a roller coaster ride. You will have WTF moments you will certainly cry, and swoon oh yes he’ll have you swooning but I have never wanted so slap someone as much as I did this guy and he’s not even real. ( good just image if he was), but after hating him so much, you can’t help but fall in love with him. He’s definitely a real Prince Charming.
I will just say, though, it wasn’t the Jacobs Ladder that changed my opinion of him…….. ok I’m not going down that road.
Amanda is Jades mum ( you need to read the other books) is a struggling Artist who hasn’t had it easy, but as always done her best and as always believed in fairytales shes a dreamer but also just beautiful inside and out. She just wants to find her own Prince Charming, and yep, she finds him alright.
I’m not gonna go into any more details, cos I hate giving to much away. Just buckle up and get ready for one hell of a bumpy ride.
All I can say is you need to read these books, all of them, cos they are all just bloody brilliant. AK Landow, you are a total legend, and I am so excited to see what you bring us next.
But I will say I will always need more from the City of Sisterly love Gang and, of course, The Belles of Broad Street Gang cos I have loved all of them.
It's not every book I wake my husband up laugh-snorting out loud in the middle of the night while reading...Just kidding..It's happened more than once.
I had a love/hate relationship with Beckett throughout the entire book. My heart was aching for him to grow up and face his demons and stop acting childish but at the same time if I went through half the shit he did...I would lash out too..I mean could you blame him. But at the same time I adored him, and my gahhhh that mouth of his... 🥵
AK couldn't have wrote a better FMC in my opinion. (Beside's Jade. She's one badass Barbie.) And a mother at that. She portrayed both the love of a mother and bonus mother beautifully.
Amanda was very strong-willed and pure hearted and Jade was well...Jade. Everyone needs a Jade in their life.
And the spice...HOLY HELL...you will definitely need a cold shower after the scenes in this one... 💦💦
Every time, every single freaking time I read AK's books i decide I am going to go slow and read, savour it relish it and take it in at a slow pace. It's like enjoying a perfect dessert you want to consume it at a go but want to savor it slowly at the same time. Well that was what I thought diving into this book. It all went to sh!t once i crossed the first page. Yup I blew through this one within 24 hrs!! And i am not even sorry about it , cause what can you do when you read perfection. The number of times I went woah, WTduck, and oh my god this is amazing it's so not funny.
Beckett and Amanda damm , can we just appreciate older aged couples I mean people who are in their 40's and late 40's there is a reason why when you read their stories you have this sense of calmness, there is no bullcrap, there is no shitty egos and drama. There is maturity , understanding and respect. Right off the bat all the positives are shown. We know how they met but as in true AK fashion it takes its sweet time to culminate into the love I just read. Ok back to Beckett and Amanda both single parents and both looking but not looking for love in their 40's having their own different sets of baggage and joy they have for each other leaves you smiling like a loon through and through. We have our sweet Andie Beckett's 5 year old who is the apple of her dad's eye and then we have Jade whom you have already met the smutty mouth no holds barred Barbie. I can't wax enough poetry about this book, more so I can't do poetry much. There are so many relationships weaved into their lives each and everyone are so unique all on their own. I have new appreciation for dad jokes FYI..and wanting to eat cherries.
No story is complete with their own set of challenges and this one was above and beyond. I loved it! You have to read it to believe that magic from this. We of course have such a special appearance from another series one of my OG loved up couples *wink wink* gosh it was fun. In the end I beat you T, I finished first!!
Hahaha but yes in the end this was truly standing to it's title ,. definitely ENCHANTED VENTURES for sure!!
We are back with our belles. Amanda Tremaine attended Reagan’s birthday day party to celebrate her daughter’s, Jade, birthday. While at the party Amanda has a run in with Beckett Windsor, a new employee at Reagan’s company. Beckett uses Amanda to deflect the attention of a woman interested in him. He was just recently widowed and a very eligible bachelor. Beckett is focused on being a single father. This outing is a bit overwhelming for both he and Amanda. Amanda settled with her husband to give Jade a steady home life but the sparks are just not there. When Beckett kisses Amanda to deter unwanted attention, she does not push him away or stop him.
As with all our couples, four years later, life has happened. Beckett postponed working for Reagan to give his daughter, Andie, more time to adjust going to school. Amanda, who was married four years ago, is now divorced and has moved back to Philadelphia permanently. Her career as a painter has taken off and she is able to live off of her earnings. Amanda was great until she found out who was buying all of her paintings.
Beckett needed a fake girlfriend to pacify his mother. He gave her the first name that came to his mind. The one woman that he could not stop thinking about. It was a coincidence that Amanda was coming to confront him at that exact moment. Beckett makes a deal with Amanda. She will stay at his house for a month in return he will introduce her to some art buyers. The attraction is still there. Amanda is adamant that they not start anything until after the month is up. It is so fun to see them fighting their feelings.
Everything is going good until their relationship becomes public. Amanda’s past is a little sketchy. Can these two overcome the media airing their dirty laundry? Both have emotional trauma. Every couple that I meet, I fall in love with. Ms. Landow knows how to pull readers in. I will definitely be reading her whole catalog.
Jade’s mum, Amanda, had a rough time from the word go.
Her mum up and left her with an alcoholic dad. She was truly lucky to have such a great friend in Reggie who came to her rescue as a teenager. It was also lucky that Amanda had her first love to keep her going - art.
But life was lonely bringing up Jade on her own. The turmoil of all this has made a serious dent in her and trust and love doesn’t come easily for her.
A chance meeting with Beckett, a widower, at Jade’s birthday party makes her realise she needs a new beginning. Being married, nothing would come of it but she knew what she had to do. Years later and she hopeful she can start again. Life is good with her art selling well and she’s happier than she has been for a long time.
So what are the chances of bumping into a handsome man once again? Especially in the throws of a full on rant?! And also meeting his mother Glinda and his daughter Andie.
Although Amanda doesn’t see herself as a strong person, everyone else around her does. Jade definitely has a mixture of Amanda and Declan in her, that is very obvious!
At times I wanted to shake Beckett for being such a numbskull. I have done some serious eye rolling and head shaking with his actions. It’s a good thing his mum, Glinda, was around to tell him to behave himself.
A few backtracking moments come along and cause a stir in the whole story, but just you wait for the hidden surprise. You’ll also not be able to look at a pina colada and cherry pie in the same way again and you’re going to love it!!
AK Landow made me cry—wait, let me back up. I read “Enchanted Ventures,” Book 4 in the Belles of Broad Street series, and I got pretty verklempt several times for Amanda. Readers of this series should remember Amanda, Jade’s hot mom with the rockin’ bod who is only 44. She has been through it and deserves every bit of happiness ever after.
Yes, there was a significant moment when I said out loud, “Don’t do it! No, no, no! Girl. Don’t. Do. It.” And yes, I did have to set the Kindle down a few times. I cried, and I laughed. Oh, did I ever laugh?
AK Landow truly has a way of getting me invested in her characters each time I read her stories. Many authors often lose the continuity when bringing past characters back. Their character’s personalities often change altogether. However, Landow’s writing style proves the succession of the story remains flawless. Jade remains hilariously direct with a mouth like a stereotypical sailor. And Landow’s steamy scenes are still scorching hot.
As AK Landow had mentioned, reading “Enchanged Ventures” was an emotional rollercoaster. Beckett was lovable and frustrating, but it was all very worth it. “Enchanted Ventures” was very much worth it.
I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
All I can say is: rollercoaster. Yeah that is how this book had me all the time, climbing and climbing to the peak and then falling so fast, to just do the same again. I think these are the most real characters I’ve ever read from AK, and that is saying a lot, because she writes a very good and complex character.
If you thought Reagan and Carter where a handful, i truly believe these two take the cherry on top to another level, from all the other couples…no pun intended.
You’ll get all the sweet and loving from Amanda and Becket, as their fairytale takes flight, but you will also get all the spicy, dirty and raunchy your little smut heart wants; you can for sure believe that AK delivers on all those instances. The drama is real here because my happy tears at the end where that too.
I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for this book and I loved it!! Amanda and Beckett's story drew me in from just reading the prologue and made me forget I was an ARC reader and was just along for the ride. A.K. Landow's writing is incredibly detailed, especially the smutty scenes and her witty personality gave us readers some hysterically funny characters who had me cackling at times. She also made you feel every emotion and at times I was pissed off with Beckett and his attitude. A.K. Landow did give a warning that you might hate Beckett at times for the emotional roller coaster ride he takes you (and Amanda) on. One minute you hate him and the next you love him. Amanda is a sweet and caring mother who had a very rough childhood and is still battling the demons from her pass. Having had a daughter (Jade) young in life she does everything to provide for her while trying to make a name for herself in the art world. Years later (20+ years) Amanda meets Beckett and their roller coaster ride begins from there.
Tropes: - Later in life love story (40's) - Billionaire - A little bit Grumpy/Sunshine - Touch her and hurt you (not 💀) - Food Play - Dominating/Protective MMC - Strong Lead FMC - Chosen Family
Triggers: - 💀 of partners - Drug Abuse - Explicit Sexual Content - Language - Cheating - Violence
I loved this book and I'm honored to have been selected as an ARC reader, now I want to read the rest in the series!!
I'm so glad I started the year off with this! I absolutely love this family. Jade is hilarious, I'm glad we see more of her in this book. I also really enjoy when she starts hanging out with Andie! I need a book taking place 10 years from now lmao! They are in for some trouble lol Beckett is fantastic beginning to end, he has some trauma and is definitely an ass at times but he makes up for it with that amazing jacobs ladder lmao! Amanda turns out to be a very strong and independent character, I think she is easy for people to relate to but also shows how to be strong and stand for what's important to you.
Overall, I just want to say great job to the author. Every time I read a book from this series I don't think it can get any better and then she writes a new book and it's even better! Congratulations AK Landow!
How are we only allowed 5 stars? Anyway. How brilliant of an author do you have to be to not only HATE the main guy but also LOVE him!? You A.K. are seriously my favorite author. You have the best stories and they always tie together so beautifully. Amanda (love the name obvi) was such a strong character. From reading about her before I wasn't sure if she would be my cup of tea but she was so much more than that. Jade of course made her appearance and she was phenomenal. Naturally. Ugh I can't say enough amazing things about this book. I need more books from you. Stat.
OMGS! Wow, another amazing book with great characters! Amanda life is no fairytale, but that doesn’t stop her from believing in them and happy ever after. She is a sweetheart. Beckett is a single dad with demons and people believe his life is a fairytale. Love and hate him it just depends on his attitude! One fateful night Amanda and Beckett met and the chemistry is obvious, but it still a couple of years before their love story begins. Enjoyed reading this wonderful Happy Ever After story! A Must Read! Page Turner for sure!
I absolutely loved this book! It had me captivated from the first page to the last. Watching the ups and downs between Beckett and Amanda was an emotional roller coaster. I fell in love with Beckett in the beginning then I was shaking my head at him, then I loved him again, then I wanted to rip his head off, by the end I was madly in love with him. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
I absolutely loved this book! I was hooked from page 1. Amanda and Beckett's love story has fairytale vibes, spice, a single mom and a single dad (billionaire) and a second chance. This book is told from Amanda and Beckett's point of view. As a couple they must work through past hurts/issues so they can be together. There are numerous flashbacks that help to build the characters background and help the reader to understand the characters. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves second chance fairytale like book with lots of spice. Triggers: profanity, fighting, abuse, kinky sex (food play, blindfold, anal)
This book can be read as a standalone book. That's what I did.
Omgoodness, I absolutely loved this book. This is my first book by this author and definitely isn't gonna be my last. She has a way to get u hooked from beginning to end. There were so many laugh out loud moments in this book. The book is a roller-coaster of emotions. I can't wait to read the next book.
This book was spicy! I loved the story it had me hooked from the very first page. If you’re looking for a spicy read with an epic romance. This book is for you. Highly recommend!
OMG 😭😭 this book is so amazing. Following Beckett and Amanda’s Journey of love is a perfect fairytale With a dash of WTF added to it! This book will keep you stuck in place Until it is over and even then you will be wanting more. If you want a read that will Let you cry, laugh, scream and gasp this is for you! Let’s just say I have a new appreciation for cherries lmfao IYKYK! Bye Cherry Pie 🍒 🤣
I couldn’t stop reading this book!!! This was an amazing read. Don’t wanna put any spoilers but it’s an absolute must read. AK did an amazing job again!!! I am so glad I was able to find her on TikTok/bookTok. or I would’ve not known who she was nor about the previous books before this that I’ve been dread before I read this and I still think and dream about all of them every day
I love this series, all of them really!!! I'm loving how this fleshes out the earlier books and this book - wowzers!!!! AK, you've done it again, thank you for creating something so beautiful and real. I had to keep going until I finished 😊❤️
The final installment in the Belles of Broad Street series will absolutely live up to author AK Landow’s invented trope “Raunch-Com”. It’s so much more than just a rom-com. Filled with all the shenanigans that you have come to expect from the Knight-Lawrence-Daulton crew. This time following Amanda (Jade’s mom) and running concurrently with several of the other storylines. AK Landow does an excellent job meshing storylines and fans of her series will get to relive favorite scenes from a different perspective. The continuity is incredible. Another gem and one that will have you literally laughing out loud!
My hats off to you, Ms. Landow. You sure know how to draw us in and keep us other edge if our seats and completely immersed in your worlds. Beckett needs someone to break through and whip him into shape, and you definitely brought that with Amanda's sweet, loving, beautiful soul. That ending speech, though, was epic.
This is my first book by A.K. Landow and let me say it not be my last. This story is such an emotional roller coaster of ups and downs. It pulled me in right from the very beginning. Amanda is such an amazing FMC as she is incredibly sweet and caring but yet is strong and supportive. I will say she is definitely sweeter than I would be in some of her situations. Beckett is your absolutely fantastic MMC. He is the type you love but yet, do not care for some of his actions. I loved the humor throughout the story at different times. The relationship between Jade and Amanda is fantastic. This story is packed full of drama, and all the sweet and loving moments. The way the story ends is just as amazing as the rest of the story. I absolutely enjoyed this story and was happy to take the journey with Amanda and Beckett.
I think this is my favorite book in the series yet. I love Beckett and Amanda so much! I love how they came from different walks of life, yet fate brings them together. I laughed so many times reading this and also felt for these two at the same time. I definitely recommend this book and series!
This book was exceptional. It is soooo spicy. Plus, the plot is so good. I just couldn't put this book down. I will never look at cherries the same again. IYKYK!
I loved the fact that this was a middle-aged couple (40ish). Both characters are perfectly damaged and make each other whole.
WOW!!!!! I loved everything about this book!!!! Beckett I swear is the man most fairytales are made of with a ton of spice lol.
I connected so well with each character even the characters who weren’t in the book as much. Each interaction they all had, made you just fall in love with them!!!
The love story of Amanda and Beckett is one I truly adored. Amanda coming from nothing, having a rough past and horrible experiences with men and Beckett who was always seen as money and never as what he wanted to be seen as, who was just a normal guy for someone to love. At a party he and Amanda have a moment together and it’s one neither one forgets years later when they see each other again!
Twists and turns, lots of ups and downs but it’s all worth the love, spice and praise you get with the two!!! I highly recommend you give this book a read.
This was the fourth book, in the series. This book is about Amanda and Beckett. This book was an roller coaster ride, I just couldn't put it down. This book was funny ( boy, did I laugh), fate dating second chances, steamy, never going to look at a cherry pie or cherries, without thing about this book, LOL. I Highly recommend this book. It's A Must Read.. Hope there another book, coming out soon.
A.K. you have done it again. This book was funny, sweet and sexy. You keep proving why you're a Raunchcom Queen! And that warning about Beckett 100% accurate. Oh, how I loved him then hated his guts. Like I understand why he said it but damn he didn't have to be so cruel.
Amanda believes in fairytales like it's her way of living. Always finding the villain in the story that she's trying to fix into her Prince Charming. But in reality, there may not be a perfect prince and she's okay with that. After Reagan's party, and the best kiss she's ever had, she goes home and lives her life, until one day she decides she wants more from this life. She divorces her husband and moves to be with her daughter Jade. While there she planned to paint more for the gallery because there is a buyer who wanted more of her work. But what she didn't know was that the Beckett Windsor was the one who was buying 90% of her paintings. He gave her the best kiss of her life at Reagan's party and now she feels like he's doing this out of pity. So, being like any other pissed off woman she storms over to his house to give him a piece of her mind only to be met with a "business arrangement" that she couldn't say no to.
Beckett is rough around the edges, but he doesn't mean to. He lost his wife during childbirth and had to mourn the loss of her while trying to father to his newborn baby girl. Because of this he built walls around his heart and never thought he could love again. That was until Amanda walked into his life at Reagan's party and showed him that there could be hope for him after all. She was the first woman that had sparked interest since his wife's passing. He hasn't seen her since that night and since then he became slightly obsessed with her. Buying all her paintings and loving/having anything with cherries because it reminded him of her scent. Now, when she barged into his life to yell at him for what he did and his mother hounding him to get a girl. He didn't think properly, and Amanda now became his fake girlfriend that will be staying with him for a month, in return she gets introduced to 3 art collectors. What could possibly go wrong?
Right of the bat, I was instantly intrigued. This is probably my favorite book from the series just because of how much I couldn't put it down. I went through several emotional rollercoasters and each one was more emotional than the last. I found myself rooting for this couple to figure things out while at the same time hoping she puts him through hell for what he said to her. AK's warning about Beckett is definitely true. But in the end, he did what he had to do, and I applaud him for it. Also, I really missed smart mouth Jade! She is by far my favorite character throughout this entire series. She has no filter, says whatever she wants when she wants, is a powerhouse, but also loves with her whole heart. While reading it was fun matching up the storylines from the other books while this one was going on. Like the pool scene with Collin and Jade you got to see what happened after Jade left. But also, I need to find a way to be "invited" to Reagan's party because everyone seems to find their soulmate there and live happily ever after!
The latest book from AK Landow, Enchanted Ventures, is an emotional rollercoaster of a contemporary romance. It has your favorite tropes mixed into a bit of a "heavier" plot. It follows Amanda (44) and Beckett (49) both single parents and lonely but for different reasons. It's got fairytale, billionaire, second chance love, fake dating, forced proximity, only one bed, an aggressive/possessive MMC and a strong independent FMC.
I voluntarily read an early copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. This is the 4th in the series but I read it as a stand alone. I didn’t feel like there was anything I didn’t understand but I could tell there was a layer of depth I missed for the side characters. It’s clear AK Landow has worked hard developing these family storylines and connecting them all together is impressive.
What I liked: I loved that this was a story about a mature couple in their forties. Although I love 20-somethings love stories, this was such a refreshing change to the usual that I really enjoyed.
The spicy scenes! Whew! This was my first AK Landow book and I’ll read more for the spicy scenes alone. She certainly has a talent!
What I didn’t like: It took me a while to get into this story. Maybe it just wasn’t the right story at the right time but it didn’t hook me until maybe halfway in. Maybe it would’ve been different if I had read the other books in the series first so I was more invested in the characters. I struggled at first to grasp who everyone was and how they were related to each other.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I will definitely read more of her books in the future!
A note of for future readers: there is an underlying theme of pregnancy and childbirth in this story. There are multiple pregnant characters and there is one character who has a difficult childbirth and doesn’t survive it (all off-page and not explicitly described). If this is a sensitive subject for you for whatever reason, please be gentle with yourselves.
The disclaimer told no lies 😂 I also want to give a disclaimer this is my first AK book. My stomach was on a rollercoaster! Beckett definitely made me want to smack him but also swoon and jump his bones. 😂 Friends like Reggie and Victoria 🥹🩷 that’s a sisterhood that makes the world go round. I am Reggie and Reggie is me because we’re one and the same 😂 AK did not fail to make me laugh in this book. Vagomic? 🤣🤣 I laughed for at least five minutes. The dad jokes 🧑🏽🍳💋 Beckett and Amanda’s interactions had me kicking and giggling at the beginning. We f-ck with Jared cause Jared f-ck with us. lol I hope yall get the reference, that was the first thing that came to my mind during the flash back. Andie is too precious 🥹. How can I feel the sexually tension with them 😩 only AK. Beckett Windsor this man 😂 Amanda having a daughter like Jade I feel like it’s never a dull moment. Glinda omg Glinda 🥹🥰 Collin is just perf, he’s so funny 😂 I’m going to end this with you’re definitely going to want to smack the piss out of Beckett (I was literally on the f-ck him train!) but then you’ll love him again! 🥰 I’m not going to lie a cried a bit 😅 I’m going to start asking what’s your best cherry trick 😏😂 iykyk. Some of my favorite lines (let’s be real I highlight the whole book) “If you can’t unload on a stranger, who can you unload on.” Beckett “You think I’m pretty?” Amanda (me every time I get a compliment 😂) “I hope you have a secret child cause I’m never having kids.” Jade “I’ve dreamed of this for so long. You smell…like…you belong to me.” Beckett “The very definition of spoiling is getting things you don’t need.” Beckett “I want to treat my girl like the princess she is” Beckett
