In book three of the Galactic Cage Maya is looking for a change of pace. As one-quarter Arian, she is constantly overlooked or harassed by full humans and full Arians, despite the efforts of her over-protective grandparents when she was growing up. Even her own parents abandoned her and took off for parts unknown. Now she is determined to make her own way in life and to see other galaxies she had always dreamed of seeing. She takes a risk, packs up her bags, and travels several galaxies away to audition for a job as a ring girl for the Galactic Cage Fighters Association. Maybe she would meet some of her idols from the GCFA. The moment she meets Taurus she is instantly attracted to him, but he is reluctant to her charms. Maya doesn't give up though. She keeps hoping he would warm up to her eventually. What does it take to get noticed by the reluctant male? Was something wrong with her? Was it because she was too human for his tastes? Just when things were looking hopeful, Maya finds herself in danger.
Taurus the Ape Man is one of the more popular GCFA fighters, and one of the most mysterious. No one really knows that much about him, not even his closest friends. He prefers it that way. Keeping others at a distance keeps him and everyone he cares about safe. Working as a fighter for the GCFA is a job that allows him be in charge and make the decisions about his own life. Power over his actions and future is something that he did not have for most of his childhood. Plus, the GCFA pays him and the other halfsie fighters really well. The only downside to the job is having to deal with all the females, especially the human female fans. The females find his unique abilities appealing. After the abuse he suffered growing up in the orphanage and then in the breeding programs, he doesn’t care to get close to anyone—especially females. When he meets the halfsie Arian hired to be a ring girl, his senses go crazy. He fights his attraction to Maya but it is a losing battle. Will he be able to keep himself from her? Will his past keep him from moving forward? How long can he hold off on his protective feelings toward her when Maya’s life is threatened? Sexually explicit content. Age 18+.

Another enjoyable installment in the "Galactic Cage Fighters" series. I wasn't sure if I'd like this read as the cameo glimpses of Taurus in the previous installments didn't thrill me. I did become a fan though and appreciated the storyline that brought them together.
It's at this point of the series that two secondary characters are becoming the 'must read' books to anticipate. Zen & Zara. The suspense is building to see each of them crumble in the romance department. I'm hesitant to say that I'm actually not looking forward to those books as it's been the case so many times that the hype leading up to key players never plays out. But we'll see.
Back to this installment. This was a weaker installment in the credibility and action/suspense department as it had more of a fantasy feel than a credible premise situation. But. I continue to enjoy the journey as our heroes meet their mate and have to work through various obstacles to find a HEA. I'm starting to have concerns though that the price for each of these installments doesn't give me enough to support buying any future installments (except for Zara & Zen).
I also feel that the warnings listed on the blurb "sexually explicit content" should be relabeled as it's my personal opinion that the 'explicit' scenes really aren't that explicit.
I felt this was a 3.5 star rating but, because of editorial issues and disappointing suspense elements, I rounded it down instead of up. I do feel that if this series is to continue efforts to deepen the body content and heat up the romance content needs to happen. Each book is starting to become way too predictable and anticlimatic.
This new book from KD Jones release date snuck under my radar. All of a sudden I was checking out another book and it popped up! I had to buy it straight away but unfortunately I didn't see it untill late at night. Which turned out to be a very late night as I started and couldn't stop. It's always nice to catch up with the crew on the GCFA circuit. KD Jones writing style is so easy to read I always fly through her books. This is book three in the Galactic Cage Fighters series by KD Jones. It could be read as a standalone and make sense. But really it would be better to read this series in order. The world building and characters are already set up from previous books.
I didn't get much of a sense of Taurus from the pervious books in this series. So I was interested to find out his back story. And what a story, abused and manipulated from a young age he has been left deeply scared by the experience. He meets Maya and sparks fly but he is deeply hesitant about a relationship. He wants her, but try's to treat her like a casual fling. Thank-god Maya is not going to let that happen. She wants Taurus warts and all and isn't going to accept just a physical relationship. But believe me when these two get together it is hot. I liked Maya, she jumps in and will give anything a go. I wasn't so keen on her fainting at critical moments, but then it does give the hunky guys a chance to catch her.
Taurus is a typical alpha male, protective and domineering. It was nice then, that he knew when to say "Sorry" and apologise for his behaviour. With his history it takes quite a while to open up to Maya but he eventually gets there.
When Maya overhears a conversation she shouldn't have she finds her life in danger. The whole Cage fighting community rally's around to help and you find out more about some of the other characters. All this is happening against the backdrop of the fights and CCFA circuit. Also you get to meet some new fighters on the circuit. Although Zara's book looks like it is next up it will be interesting to see a bit more from these guys too. KD Jones is turning the GCFA circuit into a big family, which is nice to see in a series.
You have to read the 2 books before...Rage and Talon..for real insight to this series...but you could read Taurus as a stand alone and follow easily... I loved the book and read it from cover to finish..so now onto book 4...
Badly edited but likeable story of alien/human hybrid fighting (think inter-species MMA) ring. Of course she’s a virgin and there’s insta-love and a happy ending. Meh. Zodiac reading challenge-Taurus
The gang is back and new characters are introduced in Taurus by KD Jones. This is the third book in the Galactic Cage Fighters series and you do not want to miss the story of Taurus the ape man and Maya the ring girl! The author continues this storyline with new villains that will have you ready to read more about these super cool halfies fighters and their pasts.
Taurus shies away from forming a friendship because of his unimaginable childhood. He is considered "anti-social" by the other fighters on the circuit and he chooses this path because of his loss of the closest family he ever had...a foster female he thought of as his sister. When Zen twists his arm into interviewing new ring girls, his life is altered when the klutzy and beautiful, Maya stumbles into the room.
Maya is more human than Arian. Her grandparents raised her in a protected loving home and she was more than ready to spread her wings and start her new life. She had dreamed of working for the GCFC and when the opening came available she jumped at the chance without even knowing what position she was interviewing for.
Here again, KD Jones' story is funny, witty, sexy, and enjoyable. This book makes an excellent addition to the series, and to my library. Each book gets better and better and I personally look forward to beginning Trig and Zara's story! If you are looking for a science fiction romance, look no further...this is the book for you.
I want to give this story more stars because I did in fact enjoy the story for the most part. My problem is that I feel it could have really done with more editing and a read through by beta reader or two. I realise that at the end of the day it is the author who makes changes and does the final edits. So if this ever went for a re-release I hope additional editing is done. If I was reading this as a beta there are a few things I would point out or question to make the read smoother. This is supposed to be sci-fi but I don't think there is quite enough sci-fi elements to stop it feeling like a contemporary read instead. In general I liked the characters. There were times when I was a bit frustrated, mainly with the heroine. I felt she had some TSTL moments. I liked the hero the most.
Another fantastic book to add to this series. I loved Taurus & Maya's story. I'm really enjoying the story lines and the concept of this series. It was a lovely story and they have a strong chemistry from first sight. Taurus, a shy, antisocial alpha male who is very possessive over his mate Maya. Maya, who is shy and inexperienced has had a crush on Taurus since she first laid eyes on him and goes for what she wants albeit they hit a few bumps along the way. It was nice to catch up with old characters as well as new. I'm really looking forward to the next book!
Well, still not as good as book one, but better than book two, IMO. I really liked the h in this book, but Taurus didn't quite do it for me. Yelling, angry, tactless, bossy, etc. he didn't really have any good qualities besides... sex, until the last couple of pages. It was still an enjoyable, quick read. 3.4 stars.
This is another great & exciting action filled alien romance. I have really enjoyed this series and am looking forward to reading the next book. Taurus and Maya's story is HOT. HOT is the ongoing theme in these stories. Well worth reading.
Loved it, Read it so many freaking times, this book was just interesting from the time I picked it up to the time I set it down KD really knows how to do a romance well.
Really liked Taurus and Maya but it was the small insight into Zen that had me intrigued. It was great to see another side of Zara too. Fab, heartwarming ending.
