Rate this book
On the beaches of Orkney, Scotland, an evil entity stalks mortal women. Machar “Mack” Kirk is a selkie man with a haunted past, one that has prompted him to become a hunter. He prowls the beaches at night, his arrows aiming for the finman who took his first love.

Beth Pedersen also watches the sea. The haunted widow has suffered losses of her own, ones that have crippled her into a state of stony grief. Beth can no longer feel, can no longer see color and life. Until the day Mack Kirk saves her from a mysterious foe, flooding her world with brightness and foreign temptation.

As Mack and Beth fight their inundating passion, the finman escalates his attacks. Before long, Mack realizes he’s not just playing Good Samaritan. He wants Beth, too, and will do anything to ensure his lover isn’t taken by the finman. But can he protect his mate from a monster with no soul?

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤
VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a 4 heart book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing. I would read it again and I would recommend it to a friend.
My Thoughts:
Leo ups the ante in Selkie's Revenge. The story contained a heck of a bite with its subtly dark plot and its majorly sexy overtones.

I very much enjoyed the continuation of the Orkney Selkies series. This installation was about Machar "Mack" Kirk and Beth Pedersen. Both Mack and Beth experienced loss at the hands...err...fins of a nefarious finman who stole their loved ones from them. I loved Mack in this story because he was a little cocky and a lot sweet in his desire for a mate and then in his treatment of Beth. And poor sweet Beth, who experienced the most crushing loss between the couple, learned how to slowly accept Mack's support, his desire for her, and eventually his love and her place as his mate.

I mention the "dark plot" earlier. The finman in this story was the vilest of creatures. His actions and his basic physical description just gave me the shivers. I hated him and how he used Beth's love for her family against her just so that he could make her his own. It was a pleasure to once again see the closely knit Kirk family who always rallied behind each other. They even stood together to confront the finman and the incident with little baby Morgan gave me shivers. I was about to be an angry reader if that situation had turned out differently.

And when Mack went after Beth to save her later on....*sigh*...it made me want my own selkie protector :). I love how their story ended and how Beth was able to get past her past to see a forever future with Mack who was sensitive, sweet, and sooooo sexy.

I so look forward to seeing which of the brothers is up next. My vote is Jamie! Another great job, Ms. Leo!

Signed, "sealed," delivered. Machar Kirk, I'm yours, you sexy, selkie beast.
I absolutely loved this book! I devoured it in a day. This is a must-read for all fans of adult PNR.
Leo has raised the bar to a new level with the Selkie's Revenge.
Her trademark humour and uniquely satisfying style of writing romance is all there. But with this Orkney tale there's also sadness and grief and the dark, dangerous lure of the sea.
I'd defy anyone not to feel for the heroine, Beth, and everything she's been through. Her reticence to let herself fall for Mack really rang true.
Machar Kirk is drool-worthy.
Wait a minute, you say. He's a seal shifter, a nice guy, a big softie. As Bridget Jones might say, nice boys don't kiss like 'that'... do they? Well in Rosanna Leo's Selkie world, oh yes they f**king do. Machar likes to get bossy in the bedroom and I think my kindle was smoking at one point. He's the whole package and so is this story. It's an emotional tale that sucks you right into the dark depths of its seductive, mythological world.
Could it have been better? I only wish it was longer. I didn't want the tale to end, and surely that's a good sign.
**minor spoilers ahead**
I loved the journey to Hildaland. It was like something out of the Odyssey or The Lord of the Rings. It just ended too fast for me. I wanted to feel more of Mack's anguish.
I wanted to see those boys kick some finman butt.
I wanted Beth to castrate his mangey, barnacle-crusted member. Pus-mouth got off way too lightly in my vengeful opinion, but that only highlights Rosanna Leo's talent in that she got me to hate him. I was emotionally invested and rooting for Mack and Beth the whole way. Brava Rosanna Leo. Hurry up and write more. Please :)

This is the biggest emotional ride Rosanna Leo has brought me on to date! Heartrending. I finished this last night. I normally write my reviews as soon as I finish each book so I don't forget details, but I needed a little distance this time because I was so emotional at the end.

This was a darker story than her previous books. I was heartbroken for Beth and everything she had gone through. A few times, her anguish almost brought me to tears and I wished I could hug her. And I was so sad for Machar and how his own losses affected him for so long.

I hated the finmen SO MUCH and want them all destroyed for the horror they visit on others. They're so evil!

Even though this Selkie installment was darker, it also had all the humor, sweetness, and heat that make Rosanna Leo's books so much fun. Machar was as sexy as I knew he would be. And when he and Beth came together...I'm still fanning myself!

...

What was I saying?

...

Oh, right. ;)

Mack was hot and devilish but oh, so sweet as well. He was so patient, accepting, and supportive of Beth and everything she was going through. You could feel his love for her oozing off the pages. *sigh* I want my own Selkie for real!

I loved that his family had a big presence in this book, as they did in the first one. They are all so close and I loved seeing them come together to protect Beth and fight the finman.

This is a great second book in a series and I can't wait for more Selkie stories!

What can I say, I am a sucker for those sleek, sexy, selkies.

Machar Kirk has to be one of the toughest, yet sweetest characters I have encountered. He has spent centuries protecting the shores of his beloved Orkney coast from those disgusting finmen and yet when he comes upon Beth Pedersen being led to her doom upon the ocean he steps in and tries to help her through a terrible period of mourning with such a gentle, caring nature. I melted.

I don't want to compare the two books in the series because they were each very different in how they presented the couples in question, but I really liked that Beth was introduced to the legends of the selkies and finmen and she was very quick to jump on board with what was plainly in front of her face instead of trying to come up with "logical" reasons for the things that she was seeing and hearing.

As a mother this story broke my heart and I was kind of hoping for a bit of a "surprise" at the end but even though Beth's "additional" HEA didn't happen I stilled loved the way the story played out.

First read 9/3-9/4/13
Second read 12/21-12/23/16

What an another EXCELLENT book to read! It was magical! You did it again, Rosanna! It was a beautiful book with a complete enjoyment and a great thrill !! . . . I loved how they went through the rough patch together and I love how the story began . . . I couldn't stop turning the pages, it was like a blur !! The humor in this book was fabulous! And the Kirk family are friggin' FANTASTIC! The banter between the brothers will make you laugh, laugh and smile the whole time...

This story was one of the Calan's brother! Ever since Calan introduced us to his brothers, I was captivated by all of them but it was Machar "Mack" with his dark eyes and that dark-haired and that dark beauty that held my attention! I knew he was more than what he seemed. And I was so happy I was right !

Long ago Mack has lost someone he dearly loved, her name was Anne. Her life was taken by the orange-eyed "finman" They are monsters! And since then, Mack has been hunting that finman but he never turned up !

OUT OF THE BLUE! One day he showed up and was luring a woman, named Beth to him. But Mack rescued her! (Thank goodness!) and from that on, it was completely magical and romantic of how they were together *BEAMING* They both have such a tragedy past, they both loss their loved ones to that finman but when they are together. Oh how happiness flows and SPARKS FLY.... and we see Mack naughty side (Hahaa) I LAWVED IT and his sweet heart. Before he met Beth, he was looking for a mate, a child and a family of his own. And his wishes truly came true in the end! *Happy tears*

This is my fifth book i'm reading by this author and as always the sense of love and family is what made me love her books! Another wonderful book, Rosanna! Keep them coming!...

HOLY HOTNESS !!! Is it me or rosanna getting naughtier ?! I LOVE IT !! hehehhe oh my, Mack can take me out to sea anytime he wants. I lovedd this book, and since i hadn't finished the first in the series and started in on this one due to a goodreads challenge, i'll have to go back and finish "The Selkie". But in no way was i confused or anything.

Okay soo we have Beth the grieving widow, but not only had she lost her husband but horribly enough her son. Now i won't ruin the book and get into anything else about that, but i was surprised to find out what happened :( . So in comes Mack to her rescue and i was instantly smitten with him , expect for the parts with that selk-ho leda i think her name was lol ! We have the usual should i give my heart or no, but beth had a shitload of issues to get through which i understand, so i wasn't annoyed as i usually would be lol :) . UGH and the finfuckers ! GROSS lol. All in all this was a wonderful book, I'm tellin you people stick with this author she won't lead you wrong, plus she's super sweet. k rambling now lol i'm just excited don't mind me :)))

Selkie's Revenge is the second installment in Rosanna Leo`s Orkney Selkies series and with this book she really puts this series on the map as something unique and wonderful in the PNR world.

The world she has built here with the selkie`s and the mystical rules that are here is wonderful combined with her down to earth writing style with people that are real with flaws. That makes her book so much stronger when you read about characters that actually could be you and not a picture perfect flawless Barbie doll type. They are even smart with good sense and the men are not all muscle and no blain but compassionate with the right dose of bad boy with extra special bedroom skills. This combination is rare and has made Rosanna Leo one of my favorite authors in this genre, her works are solid and very enjoyable reads. This book is a new installment in that category.

In this second selkie book we meet Machar aka Mack and Beth. Mack is a desperate 500 year selkie that needs to find his mate like yesterday, he is so ready to settle down it would mostly scar off most sane woman if he was not totally drop dead gorgeous. ;-) He loves kids and would like to have lots of them too. I would most likely have run away screaming since that is so not my thing. What is my thing is his collection of cool rock t-shirts from the 80, that alone would get me drooling over him. I just picture him in that Def Leappard one ohhhhh yeah.

Beth is not quite there ether, she is grieving the loss of her husband and son and are in a completely different mental place. She is not interested in a new man or more kids. When she meets Mack it is soon revealed that he is not the only man that is out to get Beth ether. And so the dance begins. It is a great back story there with nasty villain.

This is an emotional read with so nice “darker” elements in both characters personality from bad experiences in their lives. It is a wonderful and emotional story to follow and they come alive on the pages for me. Not to forget the bedroom action, ohhhh wow.

Not all of it is to my personal taste but I knew that before I started to read it. But it was so worth the read I have to say as the rest was full off hot goodness.

This is a fabulous different shifter story with selkies, if you don’t think selkies sound hot I can assure you they are, smoking hot. Overall I loved this book and are giving it 4-4,5 stars.

Machar Kirk
Beth Pedersen

This is the second book in Rosanna Leo's Selkie series.
Another great read about the Kirk family of Selkie men, and their individual searches for their mates.
This time it's Machar Kirk's and Beth Pederson's turn to find the path of true love, and a very sexy path it is too!

Rosanna tells a great story, this time a slightly dark side with the finman with the orange eyes having a large part. Lets hope the injuries inflicted on him were enough to end him!

Another fun and romantic shifter romance with Rosanna Leo. If you're going to a beach this summer, take along a stack of her shifter tales. You'll be going through them like chocolate bars.

I started the first selkie book then went to the second later that day. Very addictive.

Magically Delicious!

What a awesome and fun read. I think I smiled though most of the book while I read this story. I love folk lore’s and myths and the author has taken the Selkie and Fin Men lore to a sizzling enticing hot level.

The author does a great job creating characters with electrifying charisma and capturing the hearts of a fantasy come true audience. The author’s writing is smooth and visionary as it introduces more insight into the lore itself leaving the reader captivated till the last page.

Mack is a beautiful male Selkie that is 593 years old and has come to a stage in his life where his biological clock is ticking and he has the uncontrollable urge to find his true mate and mayhap produce some pups (children). Being sexually active and having a Fuk buddy “Ledia” seemed to be meaningless and lacking the emotional connection he longed for and it was time to find the love that he craved.

I loved the way the author gives the explanation behind the Selkie’s demeanor and their sexual prowess.

“Mating for life is typically their kinds fortae. As a whole they weren’t always the most monogamous of creatures. Most selkies appreciated their status as sexual genies and enjoyed the lure of new partners.”

Never the less, if his parents could do it 600 years ago producing 7 sons then why couldn’t he. 2 of his brothers had already mated. Calan and Maggie whom we were introduced to in the first book “The Selkie” along with Angus and Elsie giving birth to a baby girl pup Morgan.

Beth Pedersen character has a beautiful soul within the hole in her heart. Her story is tragic in how she lost her husband and son to the ocean. My heart bleed for her and I could literally feel her sorrow.

As the author reminds us of the Selkie Myth:

“Cry seven tears into the sea, and if a woman was lucky, a selkie would answer that call and love her senseless. If she was smart enough to steal his seal pelt, he would be hers until he stole it back.”

Well cry Beth did as her soul was lost thanks to an evil Fin Men. But as love and faith comes around the corner when we least expect it - miracles do happen. Mack and Beth’s experience is heartwarming. I totally melted in the book and couldn’t put it down. Their erotic interludes were magically delicious and had me wanting to act like a froggy and jump my hubby when he came into the room. Sheesh! Those scenes were scorching hot! 5 flames Hot! LOL

The plot was entertaining as the author introduces another part of lore and brings the meaning behind Mack’s purpose to fruition. The Fin Men – you know how the grandmothers in Scotland would warn the youngsters away from the water’s edge saying

“The Fin Men will get you”

We might call them the bogeyman but lore has them as

“dreaded shape-shifters who could live under the sea as well on land. They love to abduct human women, ferrying them away to the magical island of Hildaland, and doing horrible things to them.”

Overall, the story had the perfect ending leaving me all giddy inside and still dwelling on everything that happened in the story. I love Scottish history and the myths behind their legends. I recommend this awesome read to every reader who loves to be rescued by the sexy Selkie folk lore and taken away into their magical fantasy whelms.

Excellent Read!

I loved this sequel in the Selkie series! Machar is just as yummy and amazing as Calan, though they are different in personality and background. For one Calan didn't hunt anything but Machar is a self-assigned hunter of Finmen! The Finmen are absolutely nasty and not something you'd wanna meet on the beach or anywhere at any time of the day or night! They truly are monsters.
I loved Beth and really felt for her, she was grieving as she'd had a recent loss, a big loss, her husband and her son. Machar had also experienced a loss, one which prompted his self-imposed hobby of hunting Finmen, seeking revenge on the one who took the life of a girl he'd loved a couple of centuries before.
I love how his brother's and the rest of his family rally round him to help him protect Beth and rid her of the Finmen pursuing her. I also loved how well Beth fit in with Maggie, Elsie and Fae as well. Their conversation about their menfolk made me giggle when they substituted Trombone for sex while discussing their mates, so their mates wouldn't figure out what they were discussing! I also adored Machar's new niece Morgan, Elsie was still pregnant (though nearing the birth) in Calan's book so it's nice to meet the new addition to the Kirk clan!
Machar and Beth's chemistry was off the chain! They were very well matched and Machar really brought out Beth's naughty side! Those selkie men are very talented indeed! I loved the introduction of more supernaturals aside from the baddies(though in a minor character capacity) in this book as well, namely mermaids and witches! A darker book then Calan's but still very hot with some nice moments of humour, namely when the brothers are bantering (I love those Kirk men teasing each other!) and a real page turner. I hated going to work even more then usual cause it stopped me from reading Selkie's Revenge as quickly as I'd have liked!
I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the Kirk men!

Book: Selkie's Revenge
Series: Orkney Selkies - Book 2
Author: Rosanna Leo
Genre: Erotic Paranormal/Fantasy Romance (Shifter)
Length: Approximately 180 Pages

SELKIE'S REVENGE by ROSANNA LEO is the second book in the ORKNEY SELKIES SERIES. Although this is part of a series, it is a stand-alone novel that can be read on its own. This series is so good, though, that you are going to want to read them both. I'm anxiously awaiting the third in the series.

We learn more about the selkie brother, Mack, in SELKIE'S REVENGE. He suffered a devastating loss many years back to another new-to-me mythic, the finman (evil, disgusting bastard). Mack relentlessly patrols the beaches to protect unsuspecting human women from this monster. Beth, who has also suffered unimaginable loss, is in the finman's sites and has been for quite some time.

There are so many facets to this book, a kick-ass romance, great personal tragedy, good versus evil, mind blowing sex that will have you seeing stars yourself, a wonderful family dynamic, just to name a few. SELKIE'S REVENGE took me on a much needed vacation to a place I've never been to but I feel as though I know now that I've read these books. The writing was so good, I felt like I was right there with these people that I am growing to love myself.

Side note on how good this book really is: My vision isn't what it used to be. I read SELKIE'S REVENGE until the words were so blurry I couldn't see them anymore. I HAD to put the book down, but I REALLY didn't want to. I got out of bed at 2:45 in the morning because I just had to know what was going to happen. I LOVE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!

I can't wait for the next book!

I'll take a Selkie over a Vampire any day. Of course I'd have to quit my job, never see my family or friends, and buy a ton of undies (Costco anyone?) as my Selkie will be screwing me every which way to Sunday. I'm so glad I own a king-size bed. :)

Rosanna Leo ("Leo") does it again with "Selkie's Revenge," the second installment in the "Orkney Selkies" series. Leo delivers a very hot, and very sexy PNR. Mack and Beth are the couple at the heart of the story. They make a nice couple. The story is good. It's got mystery, intrigue, and romance. Blah, blah, blah. But more importantly, lots and lots of hot, sexy, naked men running in and out of the ocean, one in particular named Mack. I could not get enough of him. I loved how he wanted what his two other brothers had, his one true mate. He does find it with Beth, a woman grieving at the loss of her husband and child. Fortunately, Mack brings new happiness and meaning to Beth's life.(Puhlease, he'd bring new life and meaning to a nun.) Leo's talent with the written words makes it easy to fantasize and imagine Mack all day and all night long. It might even have you begging the almighty Lord to give you your own Selkie.

My only qualm with the story is that after a great build-up of the Finmen (trust me, they're not sexy), I thought the ending was wrapped up way too quickly. A little more fight or turmoil would have been nice.

This is a quick and easy read that's full of erotic sex (not hard-core) that's sure to entertain those who love PNR. Hmmmmm...a third book about another sexy Selkie??? I say bring it on! Just don't make us wait so long.

Rosanna Leo's books take mythology and folklore and make it sexy, The Orkney Selkies series take the selkie legend from Irish and Scottish folklore of people who can shape shift in essence from seal to human. Selkie's Revenge is the second in the series but has been written as a stand alone and can be read as such.

Machar Kirk and Beth Pedersen the hero and heroine of Selkie's Revenge share similar tragic backgrounds with lost loves being taken from them by an evil being known as a finman. Mack is ready to find his mate but never thought he would find it in a human woman he saves from the finman. Beth never wants to love again it hurts to much, she has closed herself off to all emotions in an effort to stop the pain.

Ms. Leo masterfully takes a story of tragic loss and new found love and weaves a tale that is poignant at times and other times funny and when Mack and Beth finally get together it is fireworks and heat and spice. I loved we also met Mack's brothers to allow us to get to know them a bit before they may have their own books, they behave just like a large family does and should with ribbing and wrestling and supporting each other when they are in need.

This series is going on my automatic buy list, it's just that good.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first series that I have read about Selkies. Other than hearing the name, I wasn't familiar with its legend. I enjoyed the book. The author did a really good with the flow and explained the Selkie lengend and the depths people would go to find a skin.
Machar is a strong alpha male who has a vendetta to kill a specific finman for killing a woman he loved. while hunting, he saves Beth from the finman and realizes shortly afterward that she is his mate. One of the things that I really liked about Machar was that he was feeling incomplete, especially after two of his brothers have found their mates and one started a family. I really do not remember reading a book where a man could relate to women and their biological clock ticking.
Beth is lost in her grieving of her son and husband. It seems that her depression and grief was so overwhelming that she has a hard time attempting to care about anything and the finman takes advantage of that.
Both Mack and Beth need to heal in order to be able to start a life together. Even though Beth fights the attraction more than Mack, eventually after a few scares they get their HEA.

This series just gets better. What an emotional story it has been, and I admit to having a few tears over this one.
Mackar realises how happy his older and younger brothers are now they have found their mates, he see's how their lives have changed for the better. Angus and his wife now have a babe too, and Mack realises he want's this for himself. He is ready to settle down with a mate and start his own family. However there is one problem, true mates are hard to find, and as his on off friend with benefits, isn't interested in a permanent mating, he ponders on changing her mind. That is until the fateful day when he rescue's Beth from drowning.
My heart goes out to Beth as she grieves for the loss of her husband and child, she is in such a dark place. Mack is drawn to her, he has no idea why, but he wants to help her, especially when he discovers she has been marked by one of those evil creatures Finman. Determined to keep her safe, their relationship grows at a fast pace, hot and steamy scenes, battle lines are drawn, and love blooms.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it.

I absolutely loved The Selkie, and Selkie's Revenge was just as wonderful. The only disheartening part of Macks' book...Breannan only spoke like three times. *heavy sigh*

This book is a little darker than The Selkie, with the terrible pasts that both Beth and Mack have had, but there was still humor and a ton of sexy to make up for it.

Beth has lost both her husband and her son, and now a Finman is set on making her his broodmare, but Mack is having non of that. When he first sees the Finman luring Beth out to sea, Mack intercepts them, saving Beth's life. The two work together to try to bring an end to the Finman that is hellbent on having her; the same one that took both of their previous loves from their lives.

This book is definitely steamy, and I loved every moment of it.... When I'm working out on an elliptical machine, realize I've been reading for a while, and look down to see I've been going for about an hour, and my timer has stopped, you know the book is good! lol

This second installment in the Orkney Selkies series has many of Rosanna Leo's signature elements. There's a strong heroine who isn't terribly inclined to sit back and wait to be rescued or to let someone else fight her battles, but who also has issues. Also included is a gorgeous, alpha hero who's loving and protective, but isn't an ass about it--at least for the most part. Their story is told with a good deal of sexual tension that leads to some steamy sexy times, but also with a large dose humor that will often have you laughing out loud. There's a bad guy to fight, and he gives rise to some worrying moments, but ultimately is handled with moderate ease and the happy couple swim off into the sunset at the end. All in all a rather satisfying book.

Book Two of the Orkney Series is simply outstanding. I'm a huge fan of selkie book and Miss Leo is one of my favorite selkie authors.

This book is filled with emotion, action, and passion.

Our hero Machar 'Mack' is obsessed with his vendetta against a certain finman when our heroine Beth enters his life and turns it upside down.

Beth is overcoming the crippling grief of losing her family. Can Grief stricken woman and a man/selkie that is full of revenge be the prefect fit?

Read this amazing story and find out!

I highly recommend Selkie's revenge and Miss Leo's first book The Selkie.

I can't wait for Book Three!

A brilliant second book in the Orkney Selkies series, I can't wait to read more of the Kirk brothers, I'm hoping there will be a book for every brother. Like a sucker for a good romance story this book sucked me in, I just adored Machar Kirk and have great admiration for Beth and everything she has been through. The characters were so well written I bonded with them from the get go.
Rosanna Leo's writing style is gripping and ensures that her books are un-put-downable, I'm really looking forward to reading more from her.

Selkie's Revenge: Oh man, I loved this book! I found myself not wanting to put it down. I love Macks relationship with his family, and how his brothers tease him. It has everything you would want in a book. It's light in the beginning then as you go along with the story it builds into a nail biting situations. This author is very talented, and I hope she continues the Orkney Selkies series. Delayne out :)

"I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honesty review".

This is my first book by Rosanna Leo and it won’t be my last. I love the way she weaved this unique mythical love story full of alpha males. Selkie’s Revenge has a little bit of everything. Love, loss, tragedy, toe curling sex (okay there is a lot of this), suspense and a hint of mystery.

Machar “Mack” Kirk has suffered the tragic loss of a woman he deeply loved at the hands of the evil Finman. Now he watches over the shores of the sea in hopes to destroying the hideous creature. Mack’s need for revenge however does not outweigh his need for love, but not just any love, everlasting love. His mate is out there somewhere and he longs to find her. Mack jumps (literally) into Beth’s life and beings his journey on the road to love. He must save her life and her heart.
Mack swept me off my feet and oh how I wished I was in those big strong Selkie arms wrapped in his pelt. *swoon*

Beth Pedersen has been destroyed in the worst imaginable way. My heart went out to her not only as a mother but as a wife. She has lost her desire to live life. She walks through the motions of her day to day life just being, but not living. Mack suddenly appears in her life and not only saves her but turns her reality upside down. He breathes new life into her once again, giving Beth a reason to love, and love in a way she has never loved before. Now Beth must risk the life of the man that fills her heart to save them both.
Beth may have been a broken woman but she is not weak. Once she has her mind set on something she fights for it even at the cost of herself.

I am giving Selkie’s Revenge a sexy 4 STARS. It has some serious heat with original well rounded characters and story line. I can’t wait to read more about those sweet, hot, sexy, Selkie men and look forward to hearing more about those alpha brothers.

Although I didn't like the main characters in this book as much as the first it was still a good story. I can understand why all the girls are crazy about this book and Machar... he's like an alpha male but sensitive and wanting to settle down with a family. Beth is mourning and although I liked the story and Beth herself I found the book a bit depressing.

The part I really found interesting and why I gave it 4 stars were the finmen. I had never heard of the legend of finmen. I had actually not heard of selkies before starting to read this genre. This story was one of those good vs evil stories where you don't know who the bad guy is. I love it when authors use folklore and mythology to write their stories and make it come to life. I'm looking forward to reading more by Rosanna Leo and glad I discovered her books.

Well, Rosanna has done it again. I really enjoyed Mack and Beth. Even with the whole destined mate thing, it took a bit for them to fall in love which I appreciated. When they did it was hard core. Can I just say that I HATE the Finman? He was icky and evil. This book was an easy read with a few great conflicts and of course warm squishy feelings all over! Can't wait for the next one!!!

Another really good book in the Orkney Selkies series. I really enjoyed fast pace of the story, the plot of the finman's obsession with Beth, and Mack and Beth working through their pasts. I can't wait to read more in this series, they are fun, quick reads. I haven't read the Gemini Shifter books from this author, but I will be sure to check them out.

Very good book to read :) it took a while to get my head around the Scottish lingo but once I did it was very easy to read. It takes a couple of chapters to get into it but I recommend that you stick with it, it is well worth it in the end
