Tina Folsom is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author. She's always been self-published and has found tremendous success with her paranormal series, Scanguards Vampires, Venice Vampyr, and Out of Olympus, selling more than 2 million copies of her 50 titles (which includes titles in German, French, and Spanish) in almost 4 years.

Amazing

As always this is another amazing story that adds to already amazing series. I loved everything about this book. The character interactions were incredible.

At this point in the series, you should know what you’re in for here. There’s going to be vampires (or hybrids, or witches, or something), there’s going to be an element of fated mates to hurry things along, and there’s going to be smutty goodness.

If you’re new to the series, I’m not even really sure what to tell you. 17 books in and now 5 into the spinoff, there’s a lot of characters, world building, and lore that’s thrown at you. If you can roll with the punches, I guess you can catch up, but I’ve been here for the entire ride so I know what to expect and can appreciate seeing character that you’ve essentially watched grow up now find their mates. Cooper is a hybrid son of two previous characters in the original series, now making it on his own at Scanguards. He ends up meeting Anita at a crime scene where she mistakenly thinks he is a killer and tries arresting him.

Anita is on forced holiday from her role at the police force. She’s convinced there is a serial killer loose and is determined to track their next location (and hopefully save someone!). While trying to use her contacts to see if the latest victim matches the one she watched be abducted, she stumbles upon Cooper. Many misunderstandings occur, but they end up going out for a drink (with sexy results). Anita is stubborn but willing to take a chance on Cooper, even working with him to share her theory. The romance feels a little bit rushed, but I’m here for where we end up. All in all, this was a short read and delivered what I expected. These books are always low stakes (get it?) and sometimes you just want some goodness without the scares.

This book is based on Cooper's story. He is second Gen and the son of Yvette and Haven making him a hybrid half human half vampire. After his team finds a Jane Doe that was drained of blood Cooper goes to investigate the scene of the crime. That is where he meets Anita. She is a cop on 'vacation' but in reality she has been investigating crimes similar to the Jane Doe and is sure she knows who the victim is since the victim was from Anita's home town and Anita saw the kidnapping. Cooper and Anita team up after she IDs the body and they confirm there is a serial unaliver on the loose. They aren't just compatible with work but also in bed and Cooper quickly learns that she is his mate. Not only does he need to tell her that the serial unaliver is a vampire but so is he and he intends to keep her if she'll let him.

🔥 I love all of the books from this series and look forward to the others. Anita is a badass but can be vulnerable especially when it comes to people she loves and cares about. The moment she found out what Cooper was had me chuckle. That is one lovely story to share with family and friends. Sense my sarcasm on that last part. Cooper is a sweetheart like most of the men in these books but I do with we had someone a bit more dominating.. like Zane. This book wasn't as steamy as others but I loved it anyhow.

Scanguards Hybrids #5. Scanguards Vampires book 17. Cooper falls hard for Anita. She's a sheriff deputy on the trail of a serial killer. He's hot on a case of a murder. She mistakenly arrests him. From then they work together cause the cases are somehow connected. He tries to keep his vampire hidden as they look for the killer. They fall for each other. The secrets, omissions, and everything in between takes you on a suspenseful journey. A fabulous read filled with drama, action, twisty WTF and sexy.

Ms Folsom sure knows how to keep you wanting more in this series. Anita was looking for a killer and sure wasn’t expecting to find more than the killer. Cooper is investigating a murder and runs into Anita. He sure didn’t expect what happened next. This story was great. Action and love. I can’t wait for the next one. So worth reading them.

As always, this author wrote an exciting and intense love story. Cooper is Yvette and Haven's son, and therefore is a hybrid. When he meets an out of state deputy named Anita, his life is about to change. Wow!
