Numerous home-school experts and teachers contributed essays, ideas and resources in this wonderful Catholic homeschool collection. They share their real life experiences on what has made homeschooling a successful educational experience for their children. The resource guides are extensive and provide the home educator with a wealth of information.
This book was incredibly disappointing. I expected lots of information about how to homeschool, some stories about what works and doesn't, reviews of popular programs, etc. Instead I got short personal stories that were not informative and very boring.
I think I wanted a Catholic version of Debra Bell's Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling, but this doesn't even come close.
It is not worth reading. I finished it having learned nothing.
This is a collection of essays written by parents about homeschooling. It's a perfectly reasonable set of advice and has some good resources, but due to its very nature as a 'this is how I did things' manual, it's full of anecdotes rather than hard facts or real recommendations. I'm not sure this is a book I'm going to hold on to for the long term, but it was a perfectly reasonable read.
