When the Truth and the Past are no longer hidden their Passion is freed
Jamie, Valerio and Scot continue their story in the second book in the Hidden Series, Hidden Pasts. Read the story from the beginning in Hidden Truths.
Nineteen year old Valerio Capelli has succeeded in his childhood dream of achieving the highest level he can in Moto GP, he is the current world champion and now it seems the whole world is interested in his life. He lives under a microscope and his new relationship with the very beautiful, very openly gay Jamie Burton is beginning to draw attention. Valerio can't even come out to his childhood friends, so sharing his sexuality with the world makes him hide his love and who he truly is.
To be denied and hidden hurts Jamie in a way he never voices to Valerio, but inside the dream of Valerio accepting him is becoming nothing but a dream. If only they had just his closeted homosexuality to deal with perhaps things would be easier.
Jamie has never had to consider anyone else’s feelings; he's never shared his life or emotions with anyone. Understanding the temperamental, melodramatic ways of his new Italian boyfriend is a work in progress. There's so much for them both to learn, their relationship is still tenderly hanging on by a thread but both are willing to fight to keep it alive.
Valerio’s past experiences with sex have held them both back and despite the frustration Jamie feels he's willing to wait until Valerio is ready to take the next step. Holding back is difficult especially when his hot ex Scot is still so willing to give Jamie the sex he's not able to have with Valerio.
Scot, Jamie and Valerio’s lives become more entwined than ever when Scot falls for Valerio’s beautiful friend and ex, Rafael. The two couples are forced together when all they need is space. When the nightmare of Valerio’s past comes back to haunt him and only Scot can help him become free, all four find themselves in a close knit group, where emotions run high and hidden pasts become seen more clearly.
The past is mixing with the present, all three men have to struggle to cope with their own problems and live through each other’s in a way that breaks all three of them apart. The fog is lifting and the blackness is brightening but what's waits for them on the other side?
Welcome to the home of bittersweet M/M romances which will leave you craving more.
Nicole grew bored being a supermodel genius who worked part time for NASA, and decided to take a break from helping solve the mysteries of the universe with Stephen Hawkins to write m/m romance.
She has a loving relationship with her hubby of twenty years, and has achieved a lot in her short life considering she's only eighteen. She has fourteen dogs of all different breeds, plus twenty cats, and when she's not tending to their every need, and solving complex math problems, she loves to sew and can be often found knitting in the garden, which she maintains all by herself with her magical green fingers.
Finding time to make all of her own clothing and master the kitchen better than Gordon Ramsey, she's also a vegan domestic goddess and can often be found cooking up a storm bare foot in her kitchen.
Okay, so that's not true, especially the cooking part, though I do tend to be bare foot and I swear like Gordon does while burning my latest creation -- and I still think NASA will be getting in touch. Any day now!! *crosses fingers* I could sooo do that job because I'm so obviously awesome, but until they do...
I'm a full time author of M/M Romance and Erotica, and somehow I have several bestselling books under my belt. I've been writing for four years, and I self publish all my work under Hidden Pleasures Publishing along with my amazing team of helpers in the form my cover designer Kellie Dennis, editor Jessica McKenna, and all of my beta readers and PA's.
I'm a wife to my beloved hubby and mother to two young girls, and I do in fact have two cats who I adore, but no dog, as the hubby put his foot down. I live in Leeds in the North of England and I love it, despite the terrible weather.
My men are all seeking what everyone is, true love mixed with passion and their own happy-ever-after full of laughter and tears.
I really liked the first volume, the introduction of the characters and especially the beginnings of what hid these three men, I felt inside the beautiful appearance of each, deep wounds promised an amazing evolution. I knew I had to see behind the glitz and hot sex scenes, especially behind my imagination already saw a trio form. No, Nicole Colville is much subtle than that, it adds destabilizing elements that make much more complex relationship that is created, a new man comes from the past and especially the acceptance of feelings forces our heroes to look at the bottom of 'themselves what they really want.
Yes, there is an intense sexual tension between Jamie, Scot and Valerio, but different for each of them. A painful and frustrating for Jamie who can satisfy his love as desired tension as Valerio (a bonehead) too young and not mature enough is not ready to pass the stage. And yet, Jamie's so touching in his desire to understand and be open to his new love, he wants so that it works. And then we have the raw desire of Scot still present, just waiting to meet Jamie, Scot is the weakness of Jamie, the element that makes him feel alive, it is not really the love is a form of love.
But maybe these men are wrong, and that what they really want they dare not accept it? Perhaps Valerio still love Rafael, but his past makes him believe otherwise? Maybe Jamie love Valerio, but not the big love, just an idealized love? And maybe Scot behind this beautiful mask and intensify sexuality has a true heart which beats only for one man whose name is Jamie?
Despite the presence of even small mistakes, I am passionate about this second volume. It is fascinating to see the threads are done and undone, writing is much more assertive, Nicole Colville plays with the reader and her characters, they take the big wheel, reach the top and submerge immediately. Where will it lead? Towards a HEA or a descent into hell?
It's exciting, with incisive style, depth and research in the characters and situations that make you live this love story, or rather the love stories with great pleasure.
This is a series that challenges me, makes me think and also makes me feel for the characters. If I have no emotional or attachment to the characters in a book, then I cannot read them, this is certainly not an issue for me with Scot, Jamie and Jamie.
I felt for Jamie as he struggled with his memory issues, and his fight to make out what was real and what he wanted. Only he doesn't seem to know what he wants from one moment to the next as he is fighting demons he cannot see. We learn more about his and Scot's pasts, seeing clearly that Scot isn't the villain of the piece, he has been hurt and damaged by things every bit as much as Jamie has, only he remembers things. He has to live with the fact that he remembers everything and Jamie doesn't.
Their world's come crashing down when more and more of their Hidden Past comes crashing into their lives. We also get to meet some new characters who integrate perfectly into their world. Once again there are questions raised, and some relationships with these characters that I really hope we get to see and hear more from in the upcoming books in the series.
I really cannot wait to move onto the next book where I have my fingers crossed that there will be some answers, but I think some of these will take a while to resolve and I am sure I will have a whole slew of new questions by the time I finish is, but I say BRING IT ON!
This book sees Valerio, Scott and Jamie in the same mess as book 1. I found it really difficult to put down, too eager to find out the secrets that you know are just hovering.
Valerio and Jamie are still together but are both plagued by the secrets from their past. Scott is always in the background and the pull between him and Jamie is just as strong. There is real mystery around Scott’s and Jamie’s relationship but the author is not quick to divulge!
It is difficult to imagine three men and their families having such constant drama but it works well and it is all entwined for reasons we have yet to find out. None of the relationships seem healthy with too much dependency involved but again it nearly all comes down to the secrets from the past which in particular affect Jamie.
I found myself really regretting having read Victor and Alex’s book out of order as it allowed me to see Victor in a different light and although he was a complete monster I found myself saddened by him in this book and heartbroken for Alex. Scott’s terror at becoming like his father just makes you like him more even though he is still trying to portray the heartless bastard image.
You hear Scott’s voice more in this book showing a completely different side to the story. He suffers through a wedding; the evening being hilarious even for him, and then Rafael appears and catches his eye. This adds to the confusion as Rafael is Valerio’s first love and it raises the uncomfortable factor a few notches. It’s interesting to see how quickly Scott falls for him but still can’t keep himself away from Jamie.
There is a massive shock for Valerio at a party and the implications for all of them are huge and I admit I didn’t really see it coming but when it did it tugged me in all sorts of directions. Nicole Colville didn’t pull any punches with how the story played out!
There is a lot, and I mean a LOT, of sex in this book but there is also a good story line and a lot of drama to keep you interested and turning the pages. Towards the end I thought we were finally going to see Jamie get some peace from his ever wandering mind but we are teased with a breakthrough and left with more questions….onto the next book I go!
Even better than the first!! I read this one and the first book in this series back to back, they're a direct continuation from one to the other and reading them together just made me lose myself comp in this story and the characters. I think this book is better than the first, there’s more drama and you get to read from Scot’s POV, who just happens to be my fav character. I read Hidden Love first so I have missed him in book one. It’s nice to have him back with us. The mystery is unraveling and there is some closure for Valerio and his past. Poor Valerio I really feel for him but I really want Jamie back with Scot. Def team V. Just like the three other books I have read in this series it’s full of crazy plot twists, lots of drama and loads of hot sex. I love these men. I can’t wait to read on and find out what happens. Thanks for such a good read. Keep them coming . xx
Just so you know, I love Nicole Colville and her books "Dominique", "Saving Samuel" and "Discovering Dalton" are on my list of favorite 2015 reads.
That being said, I have to be honest and say that I've read the first two books of the Hidden series and currently starting on the third but I'm not sure I can finish the book let alone continue on with the series.
Each book has what feels like 5 books worth of angst and just when I think that a character is finally learning from his experience(s) or making a effort to be thoughtful or compassionate it takes less than a page or two for the angst to kick into overdrive...again. It's like being stuck on a overly emotional roller coaster full of people that play at being adults but have no impulse control. Case in point, Jamie and Scot. Every conversation between them is essentially the same, only changed by current events. It's to the point that I cringe when I turn the page and see any mention of the two men being in the same house, at the same event or even texting/talking on the phone.
Believe me I know that there is MUCH about the two characters to discover in the subsequent books but I'm not sure, at this point, if I can continue reading only to wait for the possibility that at least one of these characters will show some selfless character traits. It's frustrating because I feel like I should like at least one of the MC's. Help me out here Goodreaders. Should I continue on with this series???

I love these men, all three have something special about them. There's a lot to keep you occupied, it's not just an erotic book, (although the sex is fantastic) but it has a lot of complex story lines going on around the main plot line which is a love triangle between the three characters. I can't wait for the next one to come out. This book has answered a lot of the question i had about the first book but then it's raised a few more. Arrrgh, next one please.
