Becoming a Legend

Rate this book
Arianna Grace is about to turn seventeen and her life has been very complicated lately. She is the leader of four clans of night humans: dearg-dul, baku, tengu, and lycan. While the four clans seem to get along better with each other, there is internal conflict on both sides of her family, not to mention the three boys vying for her attention.

Edward Lucan is making a chase for the power to lead the baku clans and is playing his cards by using his nephew Andrew to lure Arianna into a trap. Unfortunately for Lucan, Andrew has his own plans. He has spent the last year waiting for Arianna to see him as more than a friend, and he now finds it necessary to make a move for her affection, despite his uncle.

In the dearg-dul estate, Arianna discovers that the ambitious Lord Seeger has been laying his own strategies for power and is slowly poisoning her. After getting away with her grandfather's murder, he is setting his sights on her. Luckily for Arianna, her team is on to all of the plans and is making some plans of their own. Will it be enough to keep Arianna safe? Several people close to Arianna have been keeping secrets. If Arianna is to take power and control of the night, she will need to know the truth. Will someone finally tell her what it truly means to become the legend everyone is waiting for, before it is too late to turn back?

Becoming A Legend - B. Kristin McMichael
5

I love B. so damn hard! For so many reasons, and not just because we’re both B’s. Her writing is out of this world fantastic. I fell in love when I read her first novel To Stand Beside Her. I was enthralled with the confidence and the courage that B. Kristin showed in her debut novel. Ever since, I’m proud to say that B. Kristin McMichael is one of my top FIVE favorite authors of all time. ( I have yet to put them in order, but she’s definitely up there!) I probably have about 10 authors that I would read without questions or doubts. To make it on this list you have to not only be an extraordinary writer but generally kind, loving and personable. B. Kristin has been SO nice to me and I just love her that much more because of it. To be honest, Yes… I would totally fan girl all over her for a moment, but after that – I’m sure I’d treat her as if she was my family. THAT is what I love about authors, and especially B. Kristin.

Ok – I’m done gushing now. Well, no… I’m not. Becoming a Legend was the second book in the Blue Eyes trilogy. I ADORED the first book, and I was extremely ecstatic when I got an email from B. saying that she released the second book. Obviously I finished what I was reading and jumped right into this novel. I was enthralled to find out how well the first and second novels transitioned. Sometimes when you get to the second book, after waiting a while you need a refresher. Not only did B. Kristin give you a refresher about what happened in the last book but she intertwined and mingled it in with the start of this so flawlessly.

Once again, the characters were perfect and even though they were of paranormal essence, they are super easy to relate to. Yet again, I was drawn in, from page one and was glued until the last. It’s impossible to read this without being emotionally invested. The feels that you get are just simply magical. I really felt like Arianna grew up a lot in this installment. Not only is she forced to deal with an incredible amount of “clan” issues and politics, but she has to deal with her conflicting emotions about her keepers. I still can’t get over the image in my head of her bond with her keepers. There are a few mentions of essences being pulled together, and all I could picture in my head was the most beautiful scene of smoke like light strands interlacing together to become one indestructible connection between the two.

Becoming a Legend is the perfect sequel. I have absolutely no complaints, except I didn’t want it to end. When I hit the last page I was like wait WHAT!? Where’s the rest! OH GOD what HAPPENS!? I wanted to cry. But then I turned the page and got a sneak peek at the third novel (SCORE!!!) Except I’m still wanting more. I have a serious book hangover. I read another book after this, and I’m STILL thinking about the characters, and the night world that B. Kristin made and I envisioned and I love the world created. The night humans are extraordinary.

This story is so original and beautiful. Definitely not your average vampire read. Thank the lord! Anytime I think about giving up reading paranormal cause I’m just so sick of the mainstream, I just think about this series and how it’s affected me. Because of B. Kristin, I will not give up on the paranormal romances, worlds, or characters. I know I’ve said it before, but B. Kristin is simply amazing. I love her work so freaking hard. This book gives you everything you’d want and more in a sequel. I’m excited to see how the conclusion to this series will be, but I’m also sad to see it end. I highly anticipate ANYTHING that B. Kristin comes out with next. I, for sure, am a devoted fan forever. This is a must read series. Buy it, and buy it RIGHT MEOW!! You WILL love it.

Ok so I loved the first book in this series, but to say I am so mad after reading this one is an understatement . You have got to be kidding me. I am speechless and don't think I want to read the next one. I am not happy about Devin's part in this book, nor do I really like Ari right now. I am also mad about Andrew's part. I am only giving it 3 stars instead of 2 because I like the idea behind it, just not how it's playing out.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 unicorns - I loved it!

First, Kristin is a sweetheart when I read the first book and liked it so much, she gifted me the 2nd book for an honest review. I love when an author talks to their fans. She is a sweetheart :)

The cover has the same beautiful blue-eyed girl from book 1 with the tribute to the legend in the background. I don’t know why but eyes are something that always grab my attention, so the series surrounding blue eyes and the cover are what drew my attention to it.

This book was even better than the last one :) The author weaves a fabulous story :) It has all sorts of action, another birthday, parties, deception, more secrets, getaways, and so much more. I loved the growth in Ari’s character in this book as she starts to take control of her life. She learns all sorts of new things about herself and the legend in this book. I was sucked into the story and loved every minute. I love the world Kristin has created, and you learn so much more about it in this book. I cannot wait for book 3. I hope we don’t have to wait long :)

I highly recommend this must read for paranormal fans, and I will be looking to add the paperback to my classroom library for my budding paranormal fans :)

Arianna is now in charge of the Dearg-dul estate. She's feeling overwhelmed with everything that has happened in the short span of time. Their is a very ambitious lord named Seeger. Lord Seeger who is plotting against her. Edward Lucan who also wants the power to lead the Baku clans. He 's even tried to use his own nephew Andrew to trap Adrianna. Little does Edward Lucan know Andrew has fallen for Arianna. Andrew wants her to see him in a different way. Arianna and her team of protectors are always planning and devoted to keeping her safe. It keeps them one step ahead of Lord Seeger.Ever since Lord Seeger murdered her grandfather. Things still feel strange to her . her powers are increasing . The responsibilites of the clans . Yet someone is poisoning people around her. Some has also been one step ahead of her. Arianna starts to wonder if it's someone close to her. But who and why? She needs to know the truth . Why can't anyone tell her what's really going on. Also what does it mean to be a Legend? There's still secrets there keeping form her.
A highly recommended read, lots of adventure and mystery. Very well written !

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)**

I found this book a bit more confusing than the first but that was probably due to the fact that because it was a second in a trilogy it spent most of the time tossing out relevant information that would lead up to the last book. I thought that it was well written since it reflected Arianna's confusion well and I was happy that we learned at the same time as her because it kept me interested and will help lead into the second book.

The main character is again Arianna only in this book she has come into her power a bit more although not a lot. She has a different love triangle between again Delvin but instead of Turner the Andrew, I found this slightly more difficult to buy into as for all intents and purposes it seems as though she's already made her choice. In this book Arianna is a lot more aware of the responsibility that surrounds her as being the leader of 4 clans which causes a bit of conflict due to the fact that Arianna doesn't know as much as others. And finally in this book we have Arianna understanding more of the prophecy she is part of in order to over come a illness introduced to her by one of her trusted. So yes a lot happens in this book which makes it a little bit confusing but more than that it makes it exciting and packed full of action.

The secondary characters include Delvin, Turner, Thomas, Andrew and Molina. Each who hold a very special place in both Arianna and my heart. They are mostly just part of her personal keepers and some of whom who have been following and looking her after her longer than she can remember.

The pacing was good and I liked that it again ended with a slight cliff hanger almost leading into the unknown. And I genuinely can't wait to read the next book.

The storyline lead on very well from the previous book and will hopefully lead into the next book. It is an original story with characters that are easy to like. I also like the new paranormal species that are introduced in this series of books most of which I've never heard of before now but are similar to others in many ways.

3.5 stars.

This review and others can be found on my blog, She Has A Knack For It .

I loved the first book, The Legend of the Blue Eyes by B. Kristin McMichael, so much that the author graciously supplied me with a copy of the second book in the series. This in no way effects my final review of this book.

This book picks up about a year later from the first book. For most of the book Arianna remains just as ignorant about the world of night humans as she did in the first book, except it's a year later. I felt like she should have known a little more at the beginning of this book. I felt like she should have been training both physically and mentally during that year to truly be the leader of the four clans. But clearly she hasn't.

While I liked it, I did not like it as much as the first book. For me, it felt like it suffered a little bit from The Middle Book Syndrome. The entire time I was reading it, I felt like it was just setting me up for the final book in the series. Which I do have to say based on where book two ends, sounds like it will be an awesome end to the series. Plot-wise though, I didn't really feel like this book had it's own individual story arc in the series. Maybe I missed it? That's not to say that you don't continue to learn new things about the world McMichael created, you do. It's a whole lot bigger than we are lead to believe in the first book. You also learn a little bit more about the legend and there is some plotting from various bad guys on how they can either kill Arianna or use her to get the power they crave.

With all of that being said, I'm still looking forward to the third book, Winning a Legend.

My Rating: 3.5 Stars

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.
Well, as always I loved the writing style of the author, it’s so comfortable that I quickly got lost in the mesmerizing yet dangerous world that the author created so brilliantly without even one mistake.
Ari’s life hasn’t come on the right track and now many of her close people are deceiving her and trying to use her as a pawn. Will be succeed? Will Ari be able to come out of this web of lies and betrayal? What will happen when she will come to know about Andrew’s actual goal behind his romantic façade? Are Andrew’s feelings truly manipulated by his Uncle or are they real?
New and grave dangers, extreme action, self-discovery and now Ari will taste the bitter sweet taste of being a Legend!!! Will she be able to handle her responsibilities?
A great read with remarkably developed characters, fantastic plot and unique storyline!!! Surprises are waiting in every page for you, are you strong-hearted enough to jump right into this story? Yes? Then what are you waiting for? Go for it and enjoy!!!

Ok i want to begin by saying how excited I was to get my copy of the second book in this series. I am addicted to this authors books and her style of writing - she is truly gifted and i am happy to say she didn't disappoint with this latest book.
It was a perfect follow on to 'the legend of the blue eyes' and more than I could have wished for. She has a gift of creating characters and worlds that can draw me as a reader fully into - which is something that is very difficult for me. Her characters are so easy to connect with and I feel their emotions, when I read one of her books I am a part of it and I don't want it to end.
The right amount of emotion, suspense and action this book is what anyone could hope for and is one of, if not the best paranormal/supernatural books that I have read!
I recommend these books to all book lovers out there, i am already hanging out for the next installment! These are books that I could easily read more than once, and I will.
I would like to thank the author for giving me all that I could hope for out of a book.

Let me start by saying that this book is equally as amazing as the first one. Damn B. Kristin, I loved it!

The characters were perfect and my god, I adored (I still do) Andrew with every fiber of my being. I just loved the debt of his character and his personality so much. How he handles himself and how he thinks. Man, I just love him.

I enjoyed watching every character learn more about themselves and grow before our eyes.
The world we were introduced on the first installment grows and we are lead into new life forms and new secrets, complotes and heart breaking stories.

I again found myself not being able to and not wanting to put this book down until I read the last word.

**I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.**

It was awesome.

I mean B. Kristin McMichael, really knows how to keep an audience. She had me guessing what would happen, straight to the end of the book. I wasn't sure night human or day human would appear next, who would betray whom or who Arianna would choose to love.

What really had me though (and I mentioned it before in the first book) was Devin. Even though I was a little upset with him in this book, I still LOVE him...I was SO frustrated with him. I like Andrew, but Devin, he still has me and I am so terrified for the next book!

I am really anxious to see what happens because the way it ended has me at the edge of my seat, I'm expecting great things (no pressure!). ;)

Another great installment and I can't wait to see what's next for Arianna!

5 stars.

Becoming a Legend is even better than the first book of this trilogy. Relationships become more evolved and more political stuff starts to happen. Ari's relationship to each keeper has changed since book one, some have strictly become friends and others want more. It's a bit of a toss up of who she actually wants to be with. The politics amongst each vampire race are starting to push Ari harder, she needs to start making decisions, it's getting her to grow up. Politics aren't the only thing going on, someone's trying to poison Ari and her keepers, they want her out of the game. In this installment, Ari has to seriously be on guard, because you never know who'll end up stabbing you in the back. Great read for older teens, love triangles, some action, some politics, and lots of fun.

I was so excited to read the second book in this series and I loved it. This book had everything in it from the great characters from the last book along with action, adventure, and romance. Arianna becomes a stronger character and like the title of this book she really is Becoming the Legend. Everything is thought out very well and the descriptions of everything are wonderful. In the confusing night world it feels like the reader is learning everything right along with Arianna, which I like a lot. I would highly recommend this book!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com and the Author.

The story just gets better! I was so involved with the characters and the story that I could not put the book down. Arianna has so much to deal with and being new to this world and being a teenager just makes it that much more difficult. Her connection to her keepers is touching and emotional. She grows up a lot in this book and starts to take on her role as the leader a little at a time. I can't wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this book! I loved it!!

Arianna is back. For the past year she has worked to solidify her control over her four clans while trying to understand who and what she is. But deadly plots, bitter betrayals, and long-standing political traditions threaten her happiness - and her life.

I'm still in love with this series and I can't really explain why. Yes, it stems from the vampire/werewolf craze that has flooded bookstores in recent years but it's something different. I love the Gaelic undertones in this night human world and am eager to see how they pan out in the final installment.

Another great book in the series. This takes us further into the story of Arianna grace and her life as the leader of two opposing clans of night people. this second book was well written and some of the minor details that were in the first book like jumping locations with out a lead up have been cleared up. I knew that Kristen McMichael was only going to get stronger in her writing and i was right.

POSSIBLE SPOILER!

I loved this book! I love B.Kristen's story.

This book started off where the first left off, and did not leave anything out. We got to know more about the legend, which I am very happy about.

I am loving Arianna with Andrew, and hope the stay together. I can't wait to read the next book!

All in all this book kept me hooked, It had so much detail, and the perfect amount of romance mixed in with the Paranormal.

The twists and turns were really perfect. Not too much and not too many. Just enough to keep the story moving along. The decisions made in book 1 carry over and progress well in this book. The friction between the characters was also nice. Liked how the main H was finding her footing in the book.

DNF @ 38%
Well, this was sucky. I actually really liked the first book, and I was excited to see Arianna mature in this one as she had to deal with the politics of her new world.
But we got to see nothing of that.
Instead the story begins, nearly a year after book one - for no apparent reason other than so we could have another slew of birthday parties.
I was fine with how passive Arianna was in the first book as she needed to get introduced into the whole supernatural, what I am not fine with is her sleeping her way through book two. Honestly, everything is just happening around her while she's sleeping..... and sleeping..... and sleeping.

On the romance aspect, I was a bit leery of the way the guys dropped the l-word in the first book. But I looked forward to seeing their relationships evolve to where they would actually have the foundation to use that word and have it seems a bit more sincere. Instead, we skipped ahead a year and now we just have to take their love as an established fact? Uh, no.

I'm getting a bit tired of the way these reverse harems all seem to only work when the heroine is completely clueless. It would be nice to stumble across one where the heroine has a bit more substance and backbone.

Anyway, I'm DNF'ing this. The characters don't seem to be maturing and there seems to be no real storyarc despite the vague alludings to some legend/prophecy, of which we have learned absolutely nothing, even as I'm putting the books down, halfway through the trilogy.

Sutch a disappointment. While I could somehow accept the first book in trilogy to be purely world building and character introducing without any action,to have the same for a second book in instalment is just too mutch.Yes,it do give us a better understanding of the world, characters and possible conflict. But at least ONE bright scene to remember this book by would have been great.Otherwise I got a feeling of reading fluently written report who basically gives very little information while leaving 90% of necessary information out.We are not even given the legend these books are named after. While it reads good it is also so bleak.I feel the author could have used way less space to actually clear things up for a reader.Otherwise after 2/3 of the trilogy you are left wondering what the he'll is this story about-where is the conflict, where are emotions the reader is supposed to feel, where is the freaking story we were promised!I don't know what have to happen in the third and last book to make first two worth reading. My 3 stars are very generous for this book and mostly just because it was easy to read.Very disappointed.

A year has passed since Arianna was thrown into this new world full of history, rules, and information she still knows nothing about. And us readers will be as in the dark as the main character. Not fun, right? Anyway, this volume will illustrate a real problem: Arianna knows nothing of her own prophecy, and as her powers grow, so does the attempts on her life/kidnapping. Thankfully, this sixteen-year-old will try to grow into a real person and demand answers, because there’s not much she can do if she can’t see the whole picture. Tiring, cause everyone will try to keep everything lock up. Thank goodness for the new abilities. YAY!
Even though I am struggling to share what else has happened in this volume, I think the summary paints a nice picture altogether, and it’s a nice complement to my tiny unsuspected paragraph of a review [..]

McMichael has done it again. I loved this book from beginning to end. I picked it up right away after finishing book one in the Blue Eyes Trilogy. It was even better than I expected. Fantastic read. I'm a little sad. I am still team Devin! But Andrew is a nice addition to the story. I thought he was creepy at first with the way he stalked her in book one, but his creepiness turned true affection. Can't wait to see where the last book takes me. Again, it was written beautifully and the characters stay true to their personalities and progressive development.

This was an interesting story about Arianna and how some of her clan was trying to get her to marry their sons. Arianna discovers that one of clan members is poisoning her so she isn't as strong. When Arianna is told what is happening by the clan member's nephew, Andrew, she doesn't believe him. Andrew said he will do whatever it takes to protect Arianna. They both feel a pull to each other and know their will be no secrets between them. Arianna has to decide who she wants Andrew or Devin. So much going on. A fast moving book!

BKM is ruining me. It's impossible for me to focus on anything else while reading this series! My heart is breaking because I can't immediately start Winning the Legend (book #3). My heart is also breaking for these characters who went through SO much in this book, while also maturing and growing in their powers. There is so much love in this series and I can't wait to read what happens next!
