One More Night Trilogy #3

Falling Into Love

Rate this book
The final novel in an exciting new Rock and Roll Trilogy!

“Lies, sex and rock are always on the menu when touring and if this journey has taught me anything, it’s every empty, vacuous idea I had before I met Kaz was the stuff of little girl fairytales. Love isn’t pretty, pink butterflies and hearts drawn on pieces of paper, it’s scratch marks down Kaz’s back after we have wild crazy sex and the way his aquamarine eyes look into mine as if I’m his and he’s claimed every inch of my body, including my heart, mind and soul…

“This journey isn’t about up and coming stars on the rock scene—it’s about the ones who’ve made it and still can’t get it together. It’s about drug abuse and unprotected sex, it’s about my love for a man who claimed he would never fall in love yet I managed to snag him. Not because I’m pretty, blonde and have a knock out body but because I can see past his sexy, drop-dead beautiful façade and underneath are the kind of dysfunctional, wretched secrets you hear about only in the most twisted romance novels.”

The final part of Kaz and Syd’s journey will have them dealing with issues they never saw coming and a few they did. Friendships will be tested and relationships will be obliterated but at the end of the day, it’s all about the music and that always comes first.

Kaz can’t fight his feelings for Syd any longer and he’s given up trying. When their togetherness seems almost perfect, a curve ball is thrown and it just might end up destroying the love they have worked so hard to keep.

Can they survive the repeated assaults against their relationship and come out on top or will the tour always come first, even at the expense of what they hold sacred?

Falling Into Love is the third and final book in Selene Chardou's, One More Night Trilogy. I was so excited to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint!! This was one heck of a rock and roll trilogy, that grabbed me in book one, and NEVER let me go.

With this book, we follow Kaz and Sydney as Scarlet Fever and their warm up band, Winters Regret, tour Europe and what a tour it was! This book is a true depiction of a rockstar’s lifestyle; sex, drugs and hard living. Along with that, there is a lot of drama from all the characters in this book, as past secrets are revealed. Add in drugs, jealousy and a heavy dose of sex and this made for one FANTASTIC story, I was hooked! This was NO sugar coated rock and roll romance, it was raw and real.

As the story rolls along Sydney is very much in love with Kaz and has already told him so. He on the other hand, has not told Sydney he loves her, but he shows her with his actions. When he finally admits to her that he loves her, I fell in love with him more myself.

"Are you in love with me?" My heart thundered in my chest and I suddenly hated I asked the question at all. What if his answer wasn't what I wanted to hear?

"You know I am but I will say it out loud. I fuc-ing love you, Sydney Landvik. I would die for you and there is nothing that I wouldn't give you to make you happy. You are the air I breathe and the blood flowing through my fuc-ing veins.

It was filled with sensual, passionate sex, and I enjoyed reading each and every encounter. I could really feel how much Kaz and Syd loved each other, and whether they went at it hard and fast, or slow and tender, it was SCORCHING and I could FEEL THE HEAT!

I loved seeing the changes in Sydney's character, and how she grew from being a spoiled rich bitch into the caring woman who stood by her man. She made plenty of mistakes, but I felt that she learned from each and every one of them. Kaz learned to let go of the past and finally admitted to Sydney how much he loved her.

There are some excellent secondary characters that added another whole level of depth to the story.

This story ended on a good note for Sydney and Kaz, but it left me wondering about several other characters. Good thing for me that Selene is working on a spin off series, Scarlet Fever!! It will include Sydney and Kaz, but the 4 books in this new series will be about some of the other band members. I for one can hardly wait until I have book 1, The Will To Love, in my hands.

I HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone who loves a truly HARD erotic rock and roll romance that reads real!!

Special Note
Falling Into Love is the third and final book in the One More Night Trilogy by Selene Chardou. This is NOT a stand-alone and you must read them in order.

I am very happy to say that I have been on the Kaz and Syd ride the entire time. Each of the books in this series takes part in a different aspect of their relationship. Each one keeps getting better and better in my opinion as well. I think out of the 3 books, this one is by far my favorite one.

My complaint throughout the prior books is that Syd’s character didn’t seem to really change any throughout the stories. No matter what was going on, she just stayed the same. So I was really excited while reading this book and she grew. There was a definite change in her, and it was for the better.

Kaz still stayed aloof for the most part, and I think that that is just the way he is. There was one part in this book that explained a lot of why he acts the way that the does. (I don’t want to tell you because it will ruin everything!) But I will say that after reading it, I was going “Oh My Goshness!” You got to “meet” another side of him that was a softer side by far. It made me like him even more than before!

All of the questions that I had from the prior 2 books were answered during the course of this one. Seeing as how I had quite a few, I was unsure as to how Selene would be able to answer them all without over stretching the story. But she was able to do it, and do it very well.

I have one BIG complaint about this book. I think it’s just me personally, but there was one part where they were talking about “something” (I’m trying to explain without giving away too many details) and it’s just the wording of it was horrible. I understand that they are all “rock star drug users” but the way they were talking about “this” drove me crazy. I actually seriously considered putting the book down because it upset me that much.

But taking that factor out of consideration, I thought that the ending of this book was done very well and I can’t wait to read more from Selene in the future!

4.5 Stars from me!

What can I say about this book without gushing too much and without dropping any spoilers? Hmm... Let's see...

This is the third and final installment in the One More Night trilogy, however, it's not the last we will hear of Kaz and Syd. Boy am I glad about that. I seriously love Kaz and Syd and I can't wait for the next tie-in series for more of them and some characters old and new telling us their stories.

Now, if you haven't read the first two books, anything I say here is going to be a spoiler I guess, so with that in mind, I ask you to either a) read my reviews of FALLING INTO LUST and FALLING INTO US or b) don't read this review until you have finished reading the trilogy yourself. I always try not to spoil anything for anyone, but if you haven't read the previous books, then I'm afraid I have to say *Spoiler Alert*

I was so excited to get my hands on this book. When I first read Falling Into Lust, I knew that I would read any and every book with these awesome characters in. I must admit, I fell in lust with Kaz the moment I laid my eyes on his name, Kasper Gillian. The more I learned about him, the more I became endeared to him and eventually, my lust turned into love.

There are so many things that happened in this book, so many things you have to discover for yourself. In the previous two books, we saw the development of characters including Kaz, Syd, the members of Scarlet Fever and Winter's Regret, and a small cast of supporting characters, Faith and other friends of Syd's, Misty and Keren who appeared in Falling Into Us. Those books were so entertaining and have fast become some of my favourite books of late. The trilogy on the whole is right up there near the top of my Favourite Trilogy list.
Selene Chardou's writing is fast-paced, gritty, captivating and sucks you in and under, submerging you in the world of Rock 'n' Roll.
I admit, I've never read any other books about Rock 'n' Roll - but even if I had, I would say that this trilogy would stand out in my mind; not only because of the characters but also the intricacies tied up in the stories.

Picking up Falling Into Love, I was desperate for Kaz and Syd to get their HEA, goodness knows they've worked so hard and come through so much in just a few months on tour together, they deserve the best HEA that Chardou can give them.

This was yet another roller coaster of emotions that I would go back and experience time and time again. Chardou surprises you with a good ol' soccer punch to the gut from time to time, but that only adds to how in love with this book, this series, I am.

In the beginning, Kaz was meant to sleep with Syd to break her virginity and nothing more. But it fast became so much more than that, much to the delight of both of them (and me). But much to the chagrin of some of the other characters.
Kaz asked Syd to come on tour with them and she accepted. But if she knew then what she does now, would she make the same decision? I think, in fact no, I'm 99% certain that she would. She'd put herself through the insecurities and push herself to her boundaries and beyond, all because of the man who owns her heart, Kasper Gillian.

Kaz hasn't been able to tell Syd that he loves her. He knows she loves him, but he's been through his own personal Hell that has left him broken, hurting and maybe even beyond repair.

These past months on tour have put their relationship through so many tests of endurance. Syd feels happy and like she's walking on air one moment, but in the next, she feels insecure and needs constant reassurance. She loves Kaz and she wants him to love her just as much. He has a rule about never getting married again and whilst he already has a son and ex-wife, he doesn't want the same thing to happen all over again. So though he's happy with Syd, they both know it can't go to the next level. What will that mean for Syd when the tour ends? Will Kaz break her heart? Or will she manage to prove to him that she is worth the gamble?
Syd is relentless in her pursuit of love from this gorgeous, broken man. Will she push him to breaking point, or will he finally cave in and give her what she wants?

There are so many things I could tell you about this book, but it's better experienced first-hand, not vicariously through me.

This story, along with the previous two, touched my heart. I fell in love with the colourful cast of characters. I love to hate Damira (Kaz's ex-wife), I love Jaden (member of Scarlet Fever), I love my namesake, Keren, because she's got sass. In fact, there isn't a character that I don't like. The one I came closest to hating was Faith, but occasionally she redeems herself. Then there's Seth, oh boy, he [bleep]'s me off. But the fun we experience throughout is worth the occasional outburst.

If you want insight into what happens when you go on the road with a notorious rock band (or in this case, two) then this book is one for you! It's not all getting drunk or high and throwing television sets out of windows. It's also not all hearts and flowers. If you think you know what goes on behind the doors when they are firmly shut, then I would suggest you discard what you think. This trilogy will blow you away with the real deal - this is one of the things I love the most about these books, the characters are real and tangible.

Chardou has given us an amazing insight into the life of Rock 'n' Roll stars and all those who enter their lives along the way. She has created some of the most memorable characters and I just can't wait for the tie-in series to be published because these books are my brand of heroin and I am already jonesing for my next fix!
From the laugh out loud moments to the feeling of needing to punch someone square in the jaw (Damira) to the heart-wrenching moments between Kaz and Syd, everything about this book is remarkably well written and I believe that Selene Chardou should be well on her way to becoming a Best Selling author.
The fact is, Chardou writes with guts and gumption. She expresses a lot of feeling throughout and uses her awesome characters to display this.

I read this series in an omnibus version. 1,2 & 3 just flowed into each other. In theory this story was interesting, but the substance is lacking. I am a big fan of romance of any kind, and when it comes with characters that are Rock gods, well that's just the ultimate.

It wasn't the language used that shocked me. I have read worse & read dirtier & harder sex scenes with more ease than this. It was the actual structure of the story telling. Some people by their reviews loved it, but I just didn't get that feeling from this.

I liked Sydney, the spoilt rich girl. I loved Kasper the hot rocker. Liked the people they grew into. I have thing for tattooed rock gods. Following a rock group round the world would be the ultimate. Definitely an eye opener, but the story in places was a bit rushed then in others the information given was too descriptive of useless information.

Disappointed I was unable to fully connect fully with this story. This story would normally be it for me. After reading I now don't agree with some of the more favourable reviews. But I recommend that others give it a read for themselves & make up their own minds.

You think you got the whole story you are wrong! Lovers get tested, loyalties are broken and new relationships blossom! YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!! Let me tell you this book had me on my toes. One thing I admire about Elle's writing is that she consistently delivers great books! The little details she includes while developing her characters and back story really set the tone for excellent reading! She gives you bread crumbs as you pick them up, you see bits of what molded her characters in to the people they are. This book if full of surprises, pain, heartache, Kink, steamy panty melting scenes, and love. This book made me feel things that the characters were feeling. It turns you on and has your eyes burning because you are so worried that when you blink you will loose that sexy moment that has you caught up. I honestly don't think I have yet to read a Bad book by Elle. I have been a fan of hers for a long time now, and will book stalk her till I go blind...then Audio books here I come!

This is the end of the trilogy and truly does go out with a grand finally...
There is heartbreak, loss, friendships finally ended and many secrets kept well hidden finally shared.
Sydney grows and develops so much on this leg of the tour and grows closer to Talia and Laurel, thanks to Faith and her appalling behaviour. She is one poisonous piece of work!! But Syd also suffers loss and confusion, but this makes her a stronger woman whose not going to be waiting around for someone else to decide her future.
Kaz tries his best to deny his feelings for Syd as he knows his past could rip them apart, but sees Sydney in a new light through the tour and admits he maybe third time lucky.
The tour has much of the drama from secondary characters and lots of spin offs to new series are noted. I'm sad to see the end of this series but The Scarlet Fever series is out now!!

This book was all over the place for me. One minute 2 of the supporting characters would be in a relationship and the next they would each be sleeping with someone else and it was looked at as ok. One chapter 2 people would be friends and the next they weren’t and then they were again. Not to mention the fact that there was so much drug use in this book it was crazy. And it was all looked at as normal. On the plus side the bedroom scenes were off the charts :-)

Sex, Drugs and Rock 'N Roll... what morel can I say! HOT and sexy! Intimate look behind the scenes of a rock band. This story develops around two unlikely lovers and how their feelings evolve as they spend more and more time together. Gripping conclusion and Interesting reading.

Not good

Don't care for this romance or story. Don't like the way they talk and act. Drugs and alcohol seemed to take most of the time and if my boyfriend kissed another girl on stage that would end it.
