Can one summer change your life?

Maggie Simpson has one summer left before college starts. And the last place she wants to spend it is in Green Falls, TX with her mother's family. She was annoyed when her mother announced the change of plans at the last moment, but as she reconnects with her cousin Sarah, she realizes a summer away might be exactly what she needs.

Maggie decides to find a summer job to keep herself occupied, and to help pay for college. She is ecstatic when Scottie gives her a job at a local watering hole, The Hill Country Saloon, to find a band to headline the annual Battle of the Bands competition.

One night, Maggie meets sexy and mysterious Haden, and he agrees to help her find a band for the competition. As Maggie and Haden work side by side, secrets are unleashed that make Maggie question everything she thought she knew about Haden, and the reason for her summer in Green Falls.
Secrets, so powerful, that her life may never be the same.

Whoop Whoop, my very first ARC. Yea Me!

I'm so glad I enjoyed this book. I would hate to give my first ARC a bad rating. :) This was a romantic story with twist and turns I didn't see coming. I'm so glad I don't have to wait for the follow up book. If you like a good YA/NA you definitely want to give this a try.

This story is about Maggie, a shy, broken teenage girl, brought up conservatively by her very cautious mother. She will grow on you along the way.... Hayden is hot, I love him and I hate him. The story is definitely different.... I hate cliffhangers, and this is big time cliffy..... and gotta say, it was kinda predictable what would happen with Hayden and Maggie at the end of the book, but the other part of the end, was definitely unexpected.... It certainly left me with all sorts of questions... can't wait to see what will happens next....

This is an AWESOME book!!!!!

I don't know where to start!!! Maggie was so cute and innocent but so blind and sheltered!

There is a doozy of a cliffhanger that made me want to throw my Kindle across the room!!! To put it mildly, nothing was resolved, and should've been the middle of a longer book....but that is just me being upset that I have to wait 25 very long days until the second book to be released! I hate waiting!!!

I really enjoyed this book. Very realistic and heartfelt. The emotions come across the pages and I couldn't put it down. It kept me engaged, entertained and wanting more!

Ruined By You has officially been added to my Favorites list.

..........I was contacted by the author and was asked to read Ruined by you and give an honest review......

The story started out with Maggie and her Mom traveling back home to Texas from Jersey to spend the summer. Maggie is not looking forward to spending the summer in Green Falls Texas and has no idea why her mother is forcing this...

Things quickly improve for Maggie as she reconnects with her cousin Sara, is given a great job, and meets Haden.....

Haden has to try hard to get and keep Maggie's attention. Maggie is young, naive, and has been very sheltered. Therefor she is very wary of Haden but it does not take him long to get to her.

There sweet relationship quickly flourishes until 1 secret puts an end to everything.....Not only was Haden keeping a huge secret from Maggie but apparently so was her mother.

I enjoyed Ruined by you, the book was well written and I enjoyed the character development, I connected with them.

Want a sweet quick read, here you go!!

I will be anxiously awaiting the 2nd book coming out on July 25th!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The relationship between Haden and Maggie evolved quickly, but it wasn't unbelievable. The only thing that was somewhat of a stretch was that Maggie didn't find out Haden's last name until right before they slept together. I would have thought that that piece of relevant info, along with their ages, etc., would have come up sooner. All of the characters add to the story and make you want to get to know them better. I'm really looking forward to part two, and hope that it wraps up the story nicely without leaving behind any unanswered threads. I know that the trend is to draw stories out into multiple sections of a book, but I'm hoping this isn't like that. I'm eager to get all the mysteries wrapped up and move on to more books by this author.

OMG! I wish I had known before I started this book what a cliffhanger it ended on!!!! I am currently begging Kelly Harper to give me the next one instead of making me wait the torturous two weeks until it comes out. Lol! This book is SOOOOOO good! You must read all about Haden and Maggie and be dragged around by the heart like I was the last ten pages! Excellent read!

This was a nice read. I get why she was mad but yet I get why he did what he did. I'm hoping in the next book things will work out for them. I will admit that her mom was a bit much in this book. Don't get me wrong I get why but no need to ruin your daughter's life. With the ending like that I will definitely be reading the next book.

First of all I would like to thank the lovely Kelly Harper for approaching me on Goodreads, and giving me this wonderful opportunity to review her new book.

It's such a privilege when an author approaches you and offers you their book for free in exchange for a review, Defiantly made my day!

Here we meet Maggie Simpson, a young "Red-head Angel" who lives with her mum.

Her mum decided to up and leave their home one day to head to their home roots in Green Falls, Texas, where Maggie's aunt & grandma lives. During their trip Maggie meets a tall, blond, green eyed, tattooed hunk at the gas station, where her mums filling the car up.

Maggie seem mesmerized by this strangers eyes, there exquisite!

You don't get to see much insight into Maggie s childhood in the first few chapters, other than we learn that she didn't live a happy one, very sheltered and her dad isn't with them any more.

Its been 8 years since Maggie has seen her cousin Sarah or her grandma & aunt. Maggie starts to wonder why her mother decided to up and leave all of a sudden, something must be up.

Maggie is spending the rest of her summer in Green Falls, before she heads off to college in the big apple New York, she seems to have a quirky personality, naive at times but doesn't seem to be like your average teenager /adult these days.

She wants to find a summer job to he pay her tuition fee and keep her afloat during her first semester. Sarah (Maggie's Cousin) introduces her to a guy called Scottie, who hooks Maggie up with a job, finding bands to headline for "The Battle Of The Bands."

When the go to the bar that Scottie runs, Maggie runs into (and I mean Literally) the stranger from the gas station, sparks start to fly.

I don't want to let you all in on every little thing that happens in this book, it would be far, far, far much fun to read it yourself.

You get thrust into this adorable relationship that starts to bloom between Maggie & Haden (Strange guy from the gas station)

They work together to help Maggie get her summer job to pay for her college.

***

Just to give you an insight into the love that starts to develop between Maggie & Haden I've added a quote from this book

Haden was the most beautiful person I had ever been around - and it wasn't just the way he looked. He had stuck for me and when he had no to, he had been there for me even when I was ready to give up on myself, even when I'd given him every reason to leave me alone. And, now, he'd learned my favourite song I'd only mentioned in passing.

It was too much, and I couldn't take anymore.

I wrapped my hand around the neck of the guitar. The strings still vibrated with his strumming. He beat out a muted rhythm for a moment before he looked up at me.

Our eyes connected. There wasn't anything that either of us needed to say, I was certain he could see the hunger in my eyes, every bit as much as I could see it in his.

I reached my arm around his neck and pulled him down toward me. Our lips met. The kiss was soft and gentle at first, and then it was more intense. Then we parted. My lips buzzed, vibrating with the energy left by him.

"You didn't let me finish the song," he said quietly.

"You can finish is late," I said. I pushed his hair back with my hand. He shook his head "But it's important," He said.

I looked deep into those fiery green eyes, and I knew I was about to sink into him. I leaned forward and brought my lips right up to his ear.

"This is important, too," I said. I could feel him trembling.

"What is?" he whispered, his breath washing over my neck.

I kissed his cheek once, twice, three times. Lower each time. Then, I rang my tongue up along his neck, back to his ear.

"Take me to bed," I said.

***

Then it all goes wrong, trust is broken, dreams are shattered, I guess everyone has a reason for their secrets though.

Unfortunately we find a side to Haden, he's been hiding.

We learn the truth to Maggie's Childhood

We learn at the end who Haden truly is

This book ends on an enormous cliff hanger, one that is going to change this families lives, and the life of Haden.

I do hope that the second part to this truly amazing story, gives us the answers we are so desperately searching for and we cant start to piece it together......

Only time will tell.....

Saved By You (Maggie & Haden #2) is due to be released on July 25th 2013

I liked the idea of Maggie and her mom going back home to visit their family for the summer, it felt like a fresh start so I knew right away that something had happened or something was wrong and that was why they were returning home. When Maggie first meets Haden at the gas station I thought, there he is, that will be her love interest for the summer, and I am a sucker for a man with tattoos. I thought it was strange how her mother reacted and this got my wheels turning trying to figure out what could have happened to make her have this point of view. When they get to the aunt's house it was weird how they described Maggie's mother and her grandmother's interaction, once again I tried to figure out what was going on, there was always something looming in the back of my mind that something terrible did happen or was going to happen, wow never expected both! Of course I was thrilled when she saw Haden at the saloon and the author made me feel their chemistry. It was so sweet how he teased her when she said about the blond girl and he said about her watching him, she was so embarrassed. I was confused about the job Scottie offered Maggie, why would he offer her this kind of job, she had no experience what so ever, and I didn't even read where she shared with him a love for music? I liked all of the different times the author let us experience Maggie and Haden being together as regular people, at the dirt bike promo, at the river, in the car, these were some of the best times to feel their connection and fall in love with them as a couple. All along I began to have my suspicions about Maggie's father, the things he possibly did. I was surprised at what it ended up being but I have to admit I am still a little unclear to what exactly all happened, that part seemed a little fragmented to me. I hated how she was treated by the one member in that band she saw, couldn't understand why he was so mean, then later he was still so angry, what was that all about? Loved how Haden stood up for her the second time around though, just had me falling in love with him all over again. At first I understand why Kyle is treating Maggie the way he is but when he realizes that she does not know who they are I do not understand why he purposely sets out to hurt her. At times I felt that Maggie came off to naive, and maybe a little slow on the uptake, like when Haden played that song for her all she thought was that he memorized the song for her, never even suspecting he could be in a band, even finding out earlier he could play the guitar so well, really? All along I knew something was wrong with her mother I was just waiting for the shoe to drop, wasn't sure when it was going to happen. I did love how the author handled Haden and Maggie being together the first time but in the back of my mind I am concerned that no mention of birth control happened, I just hope this doesn't turn into a pregnancy thing, sorry to cliché for me if it does. I think the best part of the book was when Haden was standing at the elevators begging Maggie to stay, then telling her that he is in love with her, I was crying all this time but when I read the last sentence in that chapter, where it reads "The elevator door shut, and the last thing I saw was Haden falling to his knees" then I was bawling my eyes out, my heart was broken, but more for Haden then for her because I do believe he tried to tell her but she couldn't wait to be with him and didn't let him finish earlier so I don't hurt for her as much as I do for him. I have to admit the last chapter had me on pins and needles, I was concerned that something might happen to her on the way home due to the storm and then what did happen did not come as a total shocker but of course I was aggravated because this was the cliffhanger, ugh and now I have to wait until the end of July. I will definitely be reading the next book Saved by You, can't get enough of Haden, and now I will be checking out the other books by this author, great job Kelly

WOW WOW WOW.
I'm blown away by this book, I had no idea it was going to be as good as it was or that I would love it as much as I did, I will be honest, I almost thought it would be another book like I've read hundreds of times.
Boy, was I wrong!!Where to start?

I love Maggie from the get go, she is sweet and innocent and needs to liven up a bit, with her help of Sarah, she does just that. She gets the opportunity at one Hell of a job and she takes it! All because the wonderful and sexy Haden Cooper. Ugh, can he be any more perfect? I had guesses about his secrets along the way, at the end you will find out if they are correct or not. I'm sure if I had them, you will to ;-) All is revealed in due time. He opens Maggie up and brings down all those walls she worked so hard to built, she did not want what happened to her parents, to happen to her. But, like everything, she cannot fight falling for Haden, heck, I fell for Haden also! Who wouldn't!? Eventually Haden's "friend" Kyle shows up and he makes life a living Hell for Maggie and Haden. Maggie and Haden give in to their love and heat and have some hot sex. Very steamy, loved every second of it. Then tragedy strikes....Will everything work out?

And that is all you will get from me! You must read this AMAZING, new, breath of fresh air book! I was both surprised and blown away with how amazing this book was! Must read and cannot wait for the second. Due out July 25th! The ending is a major cliffhanger, but that being said. The book is still amazing and you will want to read this to find out ;-)

Some quotes I loved:

"But, nothing worth while is ever easy. The fun is in the chase."

"The only thing that matters is who you lose yourself with."

"What can I say? You make me want to do things for you. "

"I realized my walls came down for you, because with you in my life, I don't need them anymore."

"I don't need the walls anymore, because I know you're not going to hurt me."

"But now, I`m seeing every shade of you, and I'm not afraid. I want it all."

M-"Where've you been all my life? "
H-"Searching for you."

"Ask whatever you want, And you can have everything. All of me."

"I'm yours for the taking, too. All of me.It won't happen because I'm in love with you."

I knew it!!! I knew there was something about "Haden" that seemed off (although not in a bad way). Where to start; the mom is a bit suffocating when it comes to her daughter, but once you read the story you'll understand why....to an extent. Maggie is a sweet girl & I felt bad for her living under her moms iron fist so to speak. I get wanting to protect your child, but she's a bit harsh. "Haden" i write that with quotes cause i have a feeling it ISN'T his real name....he seems like a truly good guy & i hope (in the next book) he proves it. Kyle, well lets just say he's only in the book briefly (thank goodness), cause simply said, the guy is an asshole. I thought the little cousin was cute, she was a simple down to earth country girl.

This book flowed really well, the characters were well written and all have a believable personality. Although i do have to say if "Haden" hurts Maggie (anymore &/or in the next book) I'd be very disappointing.

The book ended on a double cliffhanger... it definitely has me wanting to read the next chapter which thankfully comes out at the end of next month,...I'm just hoping that it sticks to that release date unlike the other book i have been waiting on that has been pushed back about 5 times now.....

Bottom line; did i like the book, yes. Would i recommend it, yes.

I want to thank the author for extending me the privileged of reading and reviewing her book, thanks :-)

SPOILER ALERT
okay, so I don't want to break the author's hard work down, and this book seems to be getting some good reviews, but it really just wasn't for me. The more I read, the more the heroine, Maggie, was getting on my nerves.
As of the beginning of the book, Maggie seems to be carrying a huge secret with her, and when we finally find out, it's 'just' the fact that her dad walked out on both her and her mom, and she overheard the conversation between her mom and dad, and she felt relieved... Come on, we've all been hormonal thirteen year-old girls, didn't we all have a moment (or more) filled with these kind of feelings? And that's her reason for blocking out Haden.
But in the end, even though they hardly know each other for 1 week, where it seems they hardly spent any time together, she just KNOWS he's the one. And she appreciates the fact that he's so patient with her. Really? Patient? they'd hardly even met! He couldn't have lost his patience yet. The way the book progresses seems like they have known each other for months already, or at least weeks. In my opinion, their emotions were just too soon, too much and I didn't connect with either Haden or Maggie, both just really annoyed me.

But again, this is just my (very personal) opinion, and I don't write reviews very loosely, as in, almost never. So if I do write one, it's a strong feeling I'm trying to bring across.

First of all, thank you to the author for extending a copy of this book to me in exchange for a review. This is the first time I've been asked to do this and I'm honored. Ok, I absolutely loved the fact that the lead female character is a fiery redhead:) YEAH! She was a bit naive but that's totally understandable after you learn more about her mother. I loved the way the author developed her character. I do think Maggie fell in love a little too fast though! Haden....oh Haden ;) I knew it and I LOVE IT! I won't say anymore and spoil it for future readers. I love his character. So darn sweet (and tattooed). Yum! My favorite scene....their heart to heart down by the river. That scene got to me. That's when I fell for Haden. This book did have a double cliffhanger and a lot of unanswered questions that I have which has me anxious for the next book to come out. I will definitely be reading it. Kelly Harper, I really enjoyed your book. Knowing you added many of your own personal experiences into this story had me guessing and wondering the entire time which parts were "you" :) Again, thank you so much for asking me to do a review for you. I cannot wait for the second book! I will highly recommend this book to my friends.

Where to start? This review is about both books. Spoiler alert.....

In the first book, the relationship of Maggie and Haden really moved quickly. They fall in love within a week. However, I think you know when you know, right?! This story had new beginnings, forever good-byes, heartache, illness, love, family bonds and hard life changing decisions.

This book really hit close to home for me, with Maggie's mother. My mom passed away seven years ago from cancer. I connected with her when they found out nothing more could be done, hospice, coming home for the final days and letting go so she could be at piece in a better place.

Maggie was dealt with so much in her life and it seemed she never caught a break. However, her break finally came i therapy of a man named Haden. Great story! Thanks for sharing your talent with us Kelly. Oh yeah, loved the mention of Lee's Summit...I am from Kansas City ; )

Oh my stars and bars. First I want to thank Kelly Harper for allowing me the opportunity to read this wonderful coming of age story of Maggie and Haden. At first I was excited but apprehensive about ready this story because the main character of Maggie was so young and I thought I'm 45 what could I have to say about young love. But as I began to read I started to remember my youth and that first over whelming love and how it feels as if life is new. I also thought this is a wonderful story for my daughters to read they are 25 and 22. As I read along I thought Maggie your thinking to much about every little thing and facial expression. Then at the end it was so beautiful I was heart sore and wishing I was young again. This is a wonderful well written story. Loved it!!! 4.5 stars to 5 stars! I cannot wait till July when the continuation begins.

Ok let me just start with WOW what an ending. I'm soooo glad I had the 2nd book all ready and waiting. I didn't jump right into this book at first. It normally doesn't take me time to get into a book but this one did. Not to say that was bad, because I so loved the book. It just started a bit slow for me. Everything that was happening just seemed a bit far fetched AT FIRST but once you get into the book and especially once you finish the series it all makes sense, which just makes it even that much better. I loved Haden. You knew something was up but I never suspected that. Eventually I did but it wasn't so apparent which was nice to be surprised. The main OMG was the ending. I loved the ending, my jaw just dropped and I'm sooo very glad I had book 2. This is a great book and I hate Kyle :)

This was the first time an author sent me an ARC and I was super excited and honored. Then the panic set in. What if I thought it was lame? What if the author can't tell the difference between homonyms? What if I couldn't get past the first few chapters?

Luckily I didn't remotely have a problem like this with Ruined By You. The main characters are interesting and flawed. No Mary Sues here. The supporting characters were interesting and added to the story. I thought there was just enough foreshadowing to know that something was up, but not so much that it spelled it all out before the reveal. This was exactly the type of book I love to read and it was a privilege to get the opportunity. I'm now awaiting the sequel.

This was a ARC given to me for my honest opinion.

5 ++++++ Stars

This was probably the best book I have read in the past year (considering I have read over 200 in the past 6 months). Maggie is a doll and Haden is the bad boy undercover. I love the fact that the story evolves slowly and we get to see inside the characters. There are several story lines interwoven into one. I loved the entire thing and read it in under 12 hours due to not wanting to miss any part of it. I am so sleep deprived. I will be looking for the next in this series......because there is not one but two cliffhangers at the end!!!!! Thanks Kelly for send this to my. Can't wait for more. You have written any amazing story ! I would recommend this to any of my fellow book readers out there.

I give this book 5 huge freakin' stars!!!

I loved loved loved this book! Once I started reading it absolutely killed me to put it down. First there's Haden (who I LOVE) who runs away from his old life when he finds his girlfriend in bed with another man. He ends up in Green Falls where he meets a red-headed beauty named Maggie. Oh Maggie...troubled and innocent Maggie.

Once it looked as though things were finally starting to go right for Maggie her trust in Haden is completely crushed when she learns about the side of him that he has been hiding.

This book will make you believe in love again, then make you want to throw your e-reader at a wall, lol.

I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story with many twists and turns.

I greatly appreciate. I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down because I wanted to know what I'd find out about each character. Wow - I am still wrapping my mind around this book - I loved it. Ruined by you is the story of Maggie and Haden who meet in small town Texas during the summer before Maggie is to head off to college. I was extremely impressed with the story and the relationship between the two. While their relationship did develop quickly (that always happens in books:), it was strong and communicative. The book was a beautiful story of trust and love, heartache and honesty, with a rock star twist:) I was overwhelmed by the ending and am anxiously awaiting the conclusion to their story.

I loved this book. Everything about it. the way it flowed to the story line. it doesn't really reveal a lot but it reveals enough that you'll want to read the next one. The story does leave with a cliffhanger, and i wasn't ready for it to end but super excited for the next one.

Wan't a sappy romance, i didn't tear up, but i did read until my eyes glazed over. i just couldn't force myself to put it down. The story flows well however, i wish more secrets were revealed. Looks like we'll have to wait for the next one to see what all is hiding!!!!

"..........I was asked to read Ruined by you and give an honest review...... "

Wow. This book left me speechless. Ruined by You... Ruined me! I'm floored, really. In an effort to avoid spoiling the book for everyone and giving a play by play.... Maggie's had a tough life. She's been leading a sheltered life, but she longs to live a normal life. From the moment we meet Haden we know he's running from something but we don't know what... Together Maggie and Haden make each others worlds whole ... Apart devastating. Cannot wait for the next book in this series.

I am hooked and cannot wait to see what happens to all of the characters next. There were some editing issues that made for some stumbles in the reading, I did find that a bit distracting. Aside from that, the plot was interesting. She really developed the characters, and made you care about all of them, not just the leads. It was very difficult to put down and my jaw was dropped by the time I got to the end. I would recommend for those that like a bit of a love story, but it was more about a young girl coming of age and learning to stand on her own in the world.
