I liked this book for two reasons: the homespun, rural Virginia humor and for the pure love of language. Kilpatrick had a way with words and like Faulkner he uses big ones. But unlike Faulkner, Kilpatrick's writing is quite accessible and endearing, kind of like an old comforting blanket.
