From stress to well-being—give yourself the gift of the Buddha’s peace.
No, it is not all in your life is stressful, and some lives more so than others. Yet people react to the same situations differently, and recognizing the difference between what we can control and what we can’t is crucial for stress management—and it is an awakening in and of itself. This practical book is designed to bring the benefits of mindfulness meditation practice to stress reduction. Unlike other stress-reduction books, Buddha’s Book of Stress Reduction also helps you develop the positive values of a calm and constructive attitude. It takes you from stress—where many of us find ourselves—to well-being.

Buddha's Book of Stress Reduction: Finding Serenity and Peace with Mindfulness Meditation by Joseph Emet is a great starting point for those just beginning to explore Buddhism and serves as a guide book and reminder for those who are more practiced in Buddhism. The writing is insightful and concise, the chapters brief and each paragraph is broken out into a bite-sized piece. These things all make the book easy and pleasant to read while being conducive to allowing the reader to practice the techniques for as little or as long as desired before progressing further. I would recommend this to anyone needing a refresher or a good beginning into a more meditative life. Thank you Goodreads!
This is a good introductory book for anyone who is interested in learning basic Buddhist principles and mindfulness meditation techniques to reduce stress. There are 15 different meditation exercises given.
3. 5 star ratings Sound advices and workable practices. In my opinion though some of these practices assume you should know the procedure you should take to yoga meditations and that is where newbies like me can get lost. So I'd be coming back to this book when i have that figured. Also i listened to the audio rather than read the print and though the narrator was good i kept being induced to sleep often. So perhaps print would work better for me.
Helped me understand that I am a major part of my “problems”. I mean i suspected it before but this book helped me understand why, and then how to change it.
