The Philadelphia city councilman-at-large details his life's amusing adventures and examines how he has had to adjust some of the assumptions of his forebears while, at the same time, remaining true to his heritage
Main Line Wasp is the autobiography of a fine Philadelphian and possibly the last honest Philadelphia politician. Following Thatcher came Wilson Good and John Street - have to be a Philadelphian to understand!!!! The book was a humorous and thoughtful description of his life and times.
What a charming, delightful read. When I first moved to Philadelphia in 1987, I well remember the name Thacher Longstreth always in the news. I'm so glad now to read his story. I read a copy from the library which was signed by the author. It reads: " 11/12/90 To All My Beloved Readers at Kate Furness Free Library- Now go out and get Main Line Wasp for your personal collection! Thacher Longstreth" hahah! Always a salesman.
