This adorable story picks up where Bell Time left off, with Jen and Michael as a couple, still navigating their relationship and growing as a couple.

I really enjoyed the first book but I think I liked this one even more! Jen and Michael are such opposites and yet so perfect together, and I love their story!

Wedding Bell Time is really well written, with a nice balance of humor and more serious issues. Jen and Mike are both complex characters, both imperfect and yet so very likable and relatable. There’s some conflict between the two and I really liked how they resolved those.

This was a very engaging read, with some sweet, romantic moments, and lovely faith elements. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I received a review copy from the author but a positive review was not required.

I really enjoyed this sequel to Bell Time. Michael is still as uptight as ever (but also adorable), and trying to do better, and Jen is battling with her new position and an HR policy against teachers dating at their school.

I loved Michael's proposal; it was super cute, and again shows how hard he is trying to be the man he thinks Jen needs him to be. There were a lot of nice moments between them, and I loved that more family members, on both sides, got brought in. The Christian aspects the author drew from were really good, too.

If you loved Bell Time, I think you'll really enjoy Wedding Bell Time.

✨BOOK REVIEW✨

📚Wedding Bell Time - Sophie Toovey📚

Two fiery stubborn teachers who fall in love now HAVE to get married. “Have to”, you ask? Well, our MMC has taken a chastity oath and the school they both work at have said “no relationships at the school unless married” 😱

This was such an interesting premise and I couldn’t wait to see how it was going to end. The characters were sweet, the banter was on point, and the events leading up to the wedding were so hilarious and drama-filled.

For someone who loves spice I was quite hesitant going into a clean romance, but it ended up being so fun! The characters did drive me a little loopy with their miscommunication and avoidance, but I think that was the point haha 😂

What you can expect:
💒 Dual POV
💒 Opposites attract
💒 Clean romance
💒 Wedding dramas

This is book two of the Bell Time series, but can be read as a standalone 🥰 out today on Kindle!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you so much to @sophie_toovey for sending me this to review 🙏🏻

After reading Bell time and absolutely loving it, I was so excited when I heard that book 2 was coming out!

I loved this as much as the first one, it's a beautiful, romantic and funny read and I was hooked from the first page to the last. It was so great to catch up with Jen and Michael again and their hilarious antics. I really enjoyed the dual pov this time, it was great to get inside Michaels head and see what he was thinking. Like the first one, the one liners and banter kept on delivering throughout and I found myself laughing out loud so many times.

I loved the characters, of course the originals Jen and Michael but I loved the introduction of the new characters and all their little personalities. It made for such an entertaining read!

This is such a comfort book, a real page turner and so relatable. Both of these books hold such a special place in my heart and I can't recommend them enough.

Thank you to Sophie for giving me the opportunity to have an ARC of Wedding Bell time and read the book before it is released

"Wedding Bell Time" follows our lovebirds, Jennifer and Michael, into the next phase of their lives: getting married. While it is a whirlwind romance for them, they are sure that they want to spend the rest of their lives together. Michael books the date for their wedding at his church but doesn't realize until later that this coincides with a marathon that he has promised to run on the same day. Overachieving Michael is determined to please both the family of the children that is receiving the funds raised for the marathon in addition to his future wife. Perhaps without Jennifer not realizing anything.

I like how Jennifer and Michael were able to navigate their love despite the Dean of their school implementing a no-dating policy for employees. While it was a little jarring that Michael and Jennifer decided to get married so quickly after dating, I admired the fact that they were marrying for love and not really because of other opportunistic reasons.

I realize that this was the premise of the story, but I don't agree with how Michael ultimately decided to do both the marathon and get married on the same day. I wish that he would have prioritized his wedding, perhaps found someone else to take his place, and would have gone out of his comfort zone to not be such a people-pleaser. I could have appreciated the character growth if things happened differently. I also wish this part of the story happened sooner than it did.

I also wish there was more detail about what happened after their wedding. That was such a large part of the beginning of the book and one of the reasons for getting married, and it seems like the author forgot about it at the end. If there is another book in this series, I hope she touches upon this.

That being said, this was a great continuation of Jennifer and Michael's adventure and is recommended to read as a cute, tame romantic story.

Jen and Michael are back again in this charming small-town romance sequel, where the pair have decided that despite being teachers working at the same school, they will manage their relationship and their romance in a professional - albeit unconventional - way. And when the school comes down on workplace relationships and Michael reveals a secret he's been keeping, their lives are turned upside down.

I LOVED that we got to learn so much more about Michael and the way he thinks in this book. It's very important to note that he always keeps his word - if he says he'll do something, he does it. Once you understand this about him, the plot makes SO much sense. He's quirky, socially awkward, hyper focused on work, and frustratingly literal at times, but he has a big heart! I love how Jen chose to see the positives in him and learn to understand him, even with the miscommunications that that might drive a person up the wall! They are very much 'Mars and Venus' but they are super cute together and relatable too.

I especially love the fact that despite not necessarily not being religious, there are some important Christian principles that he decided to intentionally incorporate into his life. While this isn't an overtly Christian story, it does show the power of intentionality, especially when you want that innocent romance in a sex-obsessed world...

Outside of that, this had all the fun and laughter and miscommunication that you could wish for in a wholesome romance. Thought I've read the first one in the series, you wouldn't need to read it to enjoy this.

Most of all though, I loved the underlying message that you can absolutely achieve romantic, exclusive love without judging anyone else for their past or choices! In this story, love wins in every sense and left me feeling happy. I really enjoyed it, read in December and while it could fit any season, it was a perfect read for this time of year!

I’ve had this ARC copy for a while, and finally had a chance to read it once the holidays were over. This one was cute and at times sweet rom com. Jen was feisty, bold, smart, and not afraid to be a little emotional. I loved watching her find her way towards faith and forgiving her mom for leaving her. Micheal on the other hand annoyed me often. He was self centered, spoke without thinking regularly, and disregarded Jen frequently. Jen constantly seemed to forgive him and compromise for their relationship and he didn’t do the same for her. Their relationship felt like it developed at hyper speed, and it put me off at times. Having said that, I did enjoy the journey they went on as a couple to prepare for their wedding and marriage. I loved the way Jen and Katie loved each other. I loved the friendships both Jen and Micheal had in their lives that helped them examine their feelings and their wants. The plot held my interest and had me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. The ending came up a little abruptly, but it fit the story and the characters well! It also wrapped things up nicely and didn’t leave any loose ends. I recommend that you read the first book in this series Bell Time before reading this one. I did not and sometimes felt like I was missing details and didn’t get the inside jokes between the characters! Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review!

Wedding Bell Time is the sequel to Bell Time. While you could probably still enjoy this one without having read the first book, I think readers who have read both will get the most out of this story as it follows Jen & Michael from the first book through the next stage of their relationship.

As many romance books as I read, I feel like I don't often read true sequels like this where it follows the same couple. Honestly, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it when I first started--- I really enjoy that whole 'falling in love' part of a romance and you don't really get that here. However, we all know that the true test to a love story comes with the blending of lives together, so I found that once I got used to the idea, I actually really enjoyed that aspect of the story. Jen and Michael had a lot to work through and they most certainly didn't always get it right (the whole premise of the story was Michael double booking their wedding day after all), but it kept things interesting. I enjoyed seeing them work through things and learn to better communicate with one another. It was really fun to spend more time with this couple!

Wedding Bell Time is a closed-door romance with kisses only. There were some Christian elements to the story, which I also really appreciated.

**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.

This is such a sweet, relatable book! Absolutely loved reading Jen and Michael’s story!

Generally, I try to always read books without reading the synopsis first. This is one book where I would ABSOLUTELY recommend that strategy! The cover alone gives some indication about where the story ends up, but it was so fun to go in blind!

Wedding Bell Time is the second book in the Bell Time series, though you can certainly read this book as a stand-alone. I took this approach, and even though this book follows the story of the two main characters of the first book, I LOVED IT. Jumping into Jen and Michael’s relationship after they had already gotten together was such a unique experience as a reader and I appreciated watching them continue to grow and interact with each other as a couple.

This book is real and relatable while being charming and engaging. I really appreciated the conflict resolution and compromise between the characters. This story is one that I wanted to pick back up the moment I set it down.

There are some serious moments that I appreciated, and they are broken up wonderfully by humor. I would definitely recommend this book, and I will be checking out the first book in the series ASAP!

Wedding Bell Time by Sophie Toovey is the sequel to Bell Time and follows on with the story immediately from where it ended with the first book. Although it could be read as a standalone, I am so glad that I read Bell Time first, and would really recommend that you do the same.

The difference in style with this second book is that the chapters alternate between Jen and Michael’s point of view and it means that we learn more about Michael’s personality and thought processes as strange as they are. I found myself frustrated by Michael’s communication or lack thereof, for a teacher who can communicate well with his students, he was truly awful at communicating with Jen. It was fantastic that by the end he finally grasped that in order not to push her away he needed to be open and communicative.

Just like the first book, this was a clean romcom with seriously funny moments and plenty of tension regarding the wedding. I loved the comparison between the two families given the unusual nature of a short notice wedding, following what I really considered to be the proposal of dreams in such a picturesque setting, dog included!

The events leading up to the wedding were filled with drama and humour, all revolving around the fact that Michael had made the mistake of booking the wedding on the day he had committed to running a marathon. The resolution of the issue was so entertaining.

I love the authors writing style and have thoroughly enjoyed reading both books in the series. She writes effortless dialogue, and with an engaging style that draws you into the story so that you can easily relate to the story and the events within it.

Wedding Bell Time is the perfect continuation to Bell Time, taking the romance to the next level, and I found it drew me into the lives of Jen and Michael so much that I did not want the book to come to an end.

I was really wanting to like this book because of how much I liked the first book in this series. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book as much. It broke the happy ending of the first book for me and I don’t think it was quite worth it.

I did enjoy the proposal and the sweet moments between the characters. There was beautiful healing and resolution with family. I also enjoyed the snippets of Jen’s book.

Michael and Jen fought a lot in this book, which as a rule is not a problem, but the issues kept repeating themselves and it lead me to not really root for the characters to stay together. It felt like Michael just steam rolled Jen and she often forgave him. I wish that was resolved little more, though the ending was nice in its own way!

As for the faith, it felt a little out of what I believe about the Gospel and my faith. I don’t know if it’s a culture thing or not but it wasn’t what I’m used to when it comes to Christianity in books. There are also viewpoints portrayed in this book that I didn’t agree with.

After reading Bell Time, I was invested in Jen and Michael and could not wait to dive in. This book did not disappoint! The witty banter is top notch, and I was all in with the humor. I enjoyed seeing Jen’s and Micheal’s story play out. I appreciated Michael’s chastity vow, and how he stuck to his convictions and was true to himself. I loved seeing Jen and Michael grow as individuals and grow together in their relationship. The faith elements added to this story as well.

“Anyone who believes in Him shall not die, but have eternal life. You see, just like for Mary, our hope comes from faith, not from our circumstances. Mary’s circumstances would not have given her much hope. Perhaps yours don’t, either. Faith sees things that are unseen, things that are eternal.”

“A few days without a proper conversation and I would have missed the equivalent of the Harry Potter series in sheer volume of thought.”

This romcom was such a fun, engaging read! You don’t want to miss it!

Oh my, this book, with its beautiful cover and wonderful interludes, was a major letdown, which is sadly such a disappointment because the first installment of this contemporary romance duology was absolutely lovely. The reason for my dismay is that I COULD NOT stand Michael’s character, for he was such a stick-in-the-mud, lacking the ability to communicate and constantly steamrolling over Jen at every opportunity. Seriously, every single one of their interactions devolved into some sort of petty argument, ultimately leading me to rate “Wedding Bell Time” a blank two stars, but despite this, it should be noted that Ms. Toovey undoubtedly has a talent for writing skillfully, which is why I would give this author’s work another chance in the future. You never know, even though this book didn’t work for me, there is still a possibility that I could end up adoring her next project xoxo

Personally I always want to journey with characters longer and get more than “they lived happily ever after”. So having a sequel to Bell time was fantastic.

A lovely sequel. Easy to slide back into the story and follow on with Jen and Micheals journey. But also if you’ve not read the first book the author makes it easy to pick up with Jen and Michael without labouring plot points from the first book.

This is a smooth, quick paced read, I love the format of dual perspectives and it gives a really balanced understanding of both characters. I enjoyed the feeling of being inside both characters minds and getting to know what’s driving each and why.

A fun read with plenty of humour and heart.

Follow along with Michael and Jen. They’re dating and also work together which can make things complicated. Their romance heats up and they eventually get engaged! There are a lot of ups and downs and mishaps as they plan their wedding. I loved getting to know them as a couple and as individuals. With the dual POV you get to know their inner most thoughts and feelings. This is a clean romance, but there are so many sweet moments! I loved how romantic the proposal was!

Thank you so much Sophie for the gifted copy!

Brilliant

Sophie Toovey is a very talented writer. The main characters Jen and Michael were so well rounded personalities from the first book. Both larger than life in their own unique ways. The rest of the side characters were just as good.
I absolutely loved reading the second book. Many laugh out loud moments and many ponderous moments too. I don't tend to enjoy reading romances where the couple are already together as I love the angst and build up to them getting together. This has been the best one I've read so far. 10 out of 10.

With some Christian elements, Wedding Bell Time by Sophie Toovey shows the struggles of miscommunication between couples, the difference in backgrounds and the idea of what comes after a happily ever after.

Summary: Jennifer "Jen" Baker and Michael Chase finally get together, but what comes next? The two find themselves facing more problems: their different personalities, external factors, an upcoming wedding and a marathon held on the same day as said wedding. The two will have to overcome these problems post-happily-ever-after together.

Tropes/Genres:
• miscommunication
• Christian
• wedding planning
• contemporary romance
• set in a British small town
• English teacher mcs

Review: While this story is not magnificent, I acknowledge the great point of what comes after a happily ever after that's been touched on in this book. After Jen and Michael got together at the end of Bell Time, what comes next?

The miscommunication in this book is kind of frustrating. Michael just keeps making decisions on his own. But I also kind of understand why. I guess this is the reality of enemies-to-lovers romance. There is bound to be some form of clash even if the characters have grown to love each other. Michael can't communicate to save his life... but I'm glad he's willing to learn. So at least there's some character growth!

The chapters are very short. The story is told through alternating POV, where Michael takes the odd chapters and Jen takes the even chapters. It helps to form a dramatic irony, where readers know the truth but the miscommunication still occurs and Jen knows nothing. At times, I felt like there was too much unnecessary dialogue.

The Christian elements took me by surprise, and I couldn’t really understand Michael’s rationale. You can say I’m just like Jen. I didn’t get it. However, it shows the potential clashes a couple can have regarding religion, traditions and beliefs. I suppose the point of this book is to show that a happy ending is just a new beginning. It's one thing to be dating; it's another to be married. In this book, I actually can kind of see the point of the antagonist, David, who's been driving them apart because he thinks it's not good for Michael's career.

I recommend this book to readers who wish to read about what comes after a happily ever after of an enemies-to-lovers romance. You have to read Bell Time before this because this is a direct sequel.

Thank you, Sophie Toovey, for the free copy in exchange for a review.

After reading book 1, I was so keen to read book 2. It was great to see Michael and Jen back on the pages, and I was excited for the next instalment.

I liked the points of view switch in chapters, getting to see both partners inner thoughts and this worked well.

Michael's characters seemed to develop quite a bit in this one, and its this that gets him in a bit of a pickle. Fun, silly and good light hearted reading.

Of course we still have a villain of the piece too, whom I loved to hate.

A great book 2, and a brilliant escapism.
