Two years ago Trotter saved the entire pantheon of Realm from a dark god’s revenge. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop the gods from banning her from Realm and - worst of all - from her godly parents for refusing to honor the Accord and declare her dominion. Now even her refuge in Aevum has been destroyed as the world itself is violently tilted and plunged into darkness. Angry, tired of feeling helpless and even more tired of being told not to meddle in the affairs of mortals, she’s ready to battle whatever demons she might find behind this nightmare. Instead of evil, however, she discovers another world even older than Aevum and filled with a wonderful species of people the gods created and loved briefly, then abandoned and left for dead in favor of their more entertaining creation: humanity.

In order to save both of the worlds she’s come to love, Trotter will finally be forced to choose a dominion that might mean giving up one world permanently. Yet throughout her journey she is unaware that the terrifying darkness growing within her is an omen that another dominion has already chosen her…

REVIEW: TILT [DREAMS OF CHAOS #2] by Ashley Chappell

As difficult as the past two years have been for young demigoddess Trotter (and for the disappearing world), life still isn't perfect. Just when she tries to be happy and content, well, the world now tilts-and is immersed in darkness. Not just the world--darkness is rising within Trotter too. Second in the DREAMS OF CHAOS series, which commenced with ALICE WILL.

Tilt: Dreams of Chaos Book 2 by Ashley Chappell is the second book in her Dreams of Chaos series. I highly suggest you read the first book in this series first before this one. You will get background information, story line and enjoy the series better. I enjoyed the first book and I enjoyed the second book just as much. This story is easy flowing and engaging. It is wrote in a way that made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. In this book, Trotter is banished from Realm where she has been forced to live away from her parents after she refused to chose a domination. She refuses to let politics tell her what to do. Now Aevum is starting to tilt toward eternal darkness. Trotter is left with trying to figure out the cause but with two worlds up heaved, will she finally have to decide a domination? She is unaware of the evil growing within her that just may make her choice easier. Will she lose one of the worlds forever even if it means saving one of them? I enjoyed Trotter in the first adventure and here again in this one she is the heroine. I enjoyed how we got to see a little bit more of inside Trotter's head. She has a need to prove herself but she is a better person for it. There is no doubt that she takes on an adventure through gods, goddesses, mystical creatures that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat in parts. I love how that Trotter is not your typical character, I think that it adds to the story and to her character. The secondary characters in this book are just as enjoyable. Some you will see from the first book but there are quite a few new ones in this one too. They all just add to the adventure. I highly recommend this book. Find out what adventure Trotter takes us on this time.

Tilt (Dreams of Chaos #2) by Ashley Chappell was an action packed, beautifully crafted story that carried over all the elements I loved from the first book.

I love this series, it's original, and when I say original, I mean this plot has not been replicated in anything I have read. From the rich, outstanding world building to the exponential character growth, this book was top tear. It's been a long time since I've read a series, that managed to outdo itself. The first book was amazing, but this one.. I can't even being to tell how out-of-this-world good this book is. I want to tell you everything, but I make it a point to not get into a second or third book in a series, because it will spoil the first book. I want you to have the full experience I had so, no spoilers.

What I want to stress is that, this series is worth your time, and you will not be able to tare yourself away from it. It's engaging, fresh, with hints of heart brake with a touch of bittersweetness that clashes together to give you an authentic experience like no other.

If you haven't gusseted, I highly recommend you not only this book, but this series. I promise that you will not be disappointed. This series will set a new standard of reading for you, and believe me, you will have a hard time trying to find anything that will come close to topping it.

Happy Reading

Tilt is the second book in the Dreams of Chaos series by Ashley Chappell. It is a Young Adult fantasy packed with action, adventure, mythology, magic, gods, mystical creatures, different realms/worlds… and so much more.
The story picks up about two years after the previous book. Trotter still hasn’t found where she truly belongs. She’s angry and frustrated after having been banned from Realm for refusing to choose her dominion. Aevum and the world is plunged into darkness as the earth is tilted off it’s axis. It looks like it may be up to Trotter to save the day, once again. She certainly gets more than she bargained for on this adventure though, when she discovers a new world.
But there is more at play here, and Trotter will have quite a lot to deal with- both internally as well as externally.
This story is a little bit darker and more mature than the first book, which I really like. Again, Ms. Chappell did a great job creating a rich and unique world(s), and building wonderful backstory, myths and in-depth lore around this imaginative tale.
The character development is quite good, the story abounds with interesting, unique and quirky characters.
I look forward to more from Ms. Chappell.

Thank you, Ms. Chappell!

Tilt was such a fantastic read! It was even better than Alice Will! It was clear that this book was intended for an older audience as it tackles darker elements of human nature. I enjoyed Trotter's growth in the book. She embraced being a young woman as well as coming into her destiny as a goddess. The balance isn't easy for her as she encounters more dark secrets from the other gods. On to the next!

So I loved the first book in this series so much and had high hopes for the sequel. I was NOT disappointed. I was super excited to read about Trotter's world again and what would happen in her journey. Honestly, the world that Chappell has created is remarkable. Very unique. It takes place two years after the first book and Trotter is seething after her banishment. I find this story a tad darker than the first, much more raw and intense but just as exciting. I like Trotter as a heroine, she's strong willed and stubborn but at the end of the day, always follows her gut and does the right thing. Even if some people disagree. Easily one of my favorite series.

I loved Tilt. After reading Alice Will, I knew Ashley Chappell was a fantastic story teller, but the way she continued Trotter's journey was engaging and exciting. I loved the smart, action filled scenes that had me not able to put the book down. I was instantly reconnected with the characters from the first book, especially Prowler...man I wish I had a cat like that:) Trotter is a heroine I found myself constantly rooting for because she's smart and strong willed.
The story begins with Trotter painstakingly adjusting to her powers, and quickly takes off on an suspenseful and exciting voyage of storytelling filled with impossibly smart writing and creativity. The way Tilt ends was quite simply perfection. Yet another layer of this engaging story is revealed at the end, and relationships are tested. Get this book, I have no doubt you will love it as much as I did!

I adored Alice Will, the first book in Ashley Chappell's Dreams of Chaos series, so I was very excited to read Tilt, the sequel. It is another great book! I was instantly drawn into the story and totally engaged and entertained throughout.

It's set a few years after the events of Alice Will, and despite her literally world altering powers Trotter is living a fairly secluded life. She doesn't have complete control over her powers and is scared of this. Trotter has to learn how to reign in her impulses, and acknowledge that even when her intentions are good using her powers is not necessarily the right course of action.

We re-encounter many familiar characters, but there's a fair cast of new characters introduced as well. One of my favourites is(/are?) Erwin. The Erwins remind me of the Caterpillar and Cheshire Cat of Alice in Wonderland. They help Trotter figure things out by interpreting things through their own particular logic and understanding of the universe. I love their clever manipulation of words, and also how the other characters react to them (especially poor Prowler!).

Chappell's worldbuilding is fantastic - I have such a clear mental image of the places she describes and am fascinated by how everything works and fits together. In Tilt we get to glimpse even more of the beautifully complex universe she has created. With Trotter's ability to move between worlds - from a medievalish market town to the Canvas upon which it is built, and the narrative switching to show us what's going on elsewhere, we really are treated to a huge variety of small worlds, each with their own rules, problems and potentials. The ways they are connected, as well as Chappell's gifts for establishing the character and nature of a place, makes it fairly easy to follow.

Tilt is another five star read - a truly excellent book and one I will definitely be recommending to fantasy-loving friends. It is definitely worth starting with Alice Will, both because it is a great book and because it does so much in establishing the characters and setting.

a great read about things not being the way you think. when a serious of mysterious events occurs, Trotter believes it is just the actions of the gods. when the sun and moon disappear from Aevum and cause tidal waves, she sets out to reprimand the gods and fix things. but when she discovers it wasn't due to the gods and the sun has been taken elsewhere, she discovers there is more to her world than she thought. pursuing this quest to find answers and punish the man responsible, she soon discovers things will not go the way she expects.a great read. a great example of a sequel adding more to the story and keeping true to the first novel. well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn't put down. well developed characters such as Crane with his strengths but also his pain underneath or Trotter struggling with everything but still trying to look after everyone. Miskarot was a great addition with her wise woman nature the plot needed. the Erwin's were also a brilliant addition to add humour.
a brilliant novel with stunning visual detail throughout. the use of contrasts with dark and light was beautifully done. I adored the descriptions of Noevum and the mushrooms and the white stones. the contrast in colour with the flames and green fruits was beautifully done. the opposites of life and death were also excellently written. I also loved the descriptions of Red with his shimmering feathers which were spell binding and also added to the worldbuilding with new creatures. the wedge characters were also a brilliant depiction of species of fairies and trolls. overall, a brilliant read and I would give it five stars.

Tilt is the second book in the Dreams of Chaos series. Even though you can pick up this book and read it without necessarily reading the first book, I highly recommend getting the first book anyway. I fell in love with the first book almost immediately, and Tilt is just as wonderful. There is a stunning array of colorful characters to both love and hate. Where the first book introduced concepts of how powerful our mind’s creative ability can be, Tilt deals with the struggle of learning how to properly use your power without losing yourself. I cannot recommend these books enough.

Trotter, the daughter of gods, is seeing her world change right before her eyes. The days are becoming shorter and the tides are out of synch. Having been forbidden to stay in Realm, home of the gods, Trotter is on her own trying to figure out what is happening. She soon discovers the gods forgotten creation and is thrown into a new world. Even as her own home is being destroyed, Trotter finds that the world she has discovered is also in danger. Trotter has to make a decision that she avoided making in the first book, and it will change everything…even her. A new power is growing within Trotter, but is it something that will be even more dangerous than what they are already facing?

Tilt has action, adventure, bravery, gods and monsters, friendship, a bit of romance, and a lot of life lessons. I love the new additions to the cast of characters, especially Erwin. Superior humor is a must when dealing with monsters invading the land. Get the book. Read the book. You will not be disappointed!

Tilt: Dreams of Chaos Book 2
By: Ashley Chappell
5 out of 5 stars

The story Tilt: Dreams of Chaos Book 2 by Ashley Chappell is next exciting book in the Dreams of Chaos fantasy series. It continues the story of Trotter and picks up two years after she had saved her world and the Realm, a place that she is currently banned from. Trotter now finds that two worlds, one of which she has always called home, are in danger. Both worlds need help in order to survive. Will Trotter be able to save them both? I enjoyed reading this book just as much as the first. It has plenty of action and danger seems to be lurking around every corner. I felt bad for Trotter as she is still trying to get used to the new powers that she has and is also faced with making decisions that affect not only her but those in both the worlds that are in danger. She is finding out that making the rights decisions can be hard. I liked that Trotter is a compassionate person and cares what happens to others. She doesn’t want anyone to be harmed. This story includes characters that you have met in the first book as well as introducing new ones. It is wonderful to read about the strength and determination that is shown by many while they are facing danger. The story goes back and forth between each world and what is happening there. This is a fast-paced book that I had a hard time putting down until I had read the last page. I highly recommend reading the series in order. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Tilt by Ashley Chappell is the second in her Dreams of Chaos series and it doesn’t disappoint. It has been two years since Trotter saved her world and the gods themselves from the wrath of a dark god and what did she get out of it, banishment because she refused to play politics and choose a dominion. Now her new home is thrown into eternal night and a new world is discovered, one filled with the procurer race to humanity that the gods abandoned centuries ago. It is in this world that Trotter will be forced to make decisions that affect not only her but an entire world. With new friends and a few familiar faces Trotter will discover who she is, who she is meant to be, and finally choose a dominion.
This book was just as good as the last one. Watching Trotter grow as a character was an amazing experience. Ms. Chappell once again does a fantastic job of creating a world for Trotter, and by extension the readers, to explore. The plot was tightly written and the characters were well developed and relatable. I liked that there was a little bit of romance thrown into this tale as well. It helps to show that for all her power and maturity Trotter is still very much a 16 year old girl. Definitely a four star novel and I am looking forward to reading book three in the series when I get the chance.

Tilt by Ashley Chappell is the second instalment of her Dreams of Chaos series. Not intended as a stand-alone the first book should ideally be read to fully enjoy book two as it follows the same character, follows on from her story in the previous book and builds on what we have already seen.

Trotter, despite having saved the world, has been banished. Two years later and she is still living in a home away from home. Settled and continuing on with her life everything is suddenly thrown into chaos when the world when is living on is thrown into darkness.
Yet again on a mission to save her home Trotter sets off to find out how to stop the eternal darkness. But with things going on that she is not aware of, it may not be quite that simple.

This was a brilliant follow up to a great first book. The writing style had clearly progressed and it made for even better reading. I loved that it wasn’t all sunshine and roses for Trotter despite her having saved everyone. I loved that we got to see her put to the test again as to see her in action.
I am looking forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.

I give Tilt: Dreams of Chaos Book 2 by Ashley Chappell, 5 stars.
*This review may contain spoilers from book 1.*

Ms Chappell has hit another one out of the park with this book! The wonderful young adult fantasy story-telling you loved from book one is back again. So are Trotter and her small but loyal group of friends. But this time it's a completely new problem. Not to mention Trotter trying to figure out her new powers.

The cast in this book is so great. Trotter is a wonderful main character, and most of the others are back too, although they do make some more friends and allies along the way. Prowler is also back, which I love, and we are introduced to Erwin, who I hope to see more of!

This book is so well written! The story itself is just amazing, but it does not take itself too seriously either. With the opening line of: "Nothing will feed insomnia like accidently turning your own bed into a man-eating beast in your sleep," I knew I was in for another enjoyable wild ride of fun and adventure.

Written for Young Adult, this book is definitely for adults also. I could not put it down and highly recommend it to anyone who like a great fantasy!

Tilt: Dreams of chaos book 2
By Ashley Chappell
4 stars

After reading book 1 I was really looking forward to see what was going to happen next to these characters. Again I really enjoyed this book, especially as it is a little out of my comfort zone. I really liked the authors writing style again and I felt this time I really got to see into the character of Trotter. I kind of felt for Trotter because after everything she did in book 1 she’s still been banished. I could sense this real need within Trotter to prove herself. I have to say I could see a positive change in the authors writing in this book, she really does a have a very creative way of telling her stories and Tilt was a pleasure to read. I think I enjoyed this book slightly more than the first one. I would recommend that book 1 is read first though just to fully understand the characters and their story. Along with Trotter were some great secondary characters.
Fantasy lovers will definitely enjoy this 4 star book! I definitely recommend it!

Tilt By Ashley Chappell

5 Stars!!!!

I like to divert to a different genre every once in a while and this was just the book to break up my constant genre read. I really enjoyed this book and found it quite the page turner.
I really found this book to be well written and the storyline was very engaging.

Trotter is a character that you begin to really pull for. This is the second book in the series and as I hadn't read the first I wasn't too disconnected to the plot of this book. I am guilty of often reading series out of order. I don't recommend that but as I often do it I found that it didn't hinder my enjoyment or understanding of this book. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and it made it very hard for me to have to put it down when I had to go to work or do other things. I could really relate to some of Trotters character traits. I really felt my heart break for her with her circumstances of her being in the world she was.I very much look forward to reading not only book one of this series but also the books to come.

Just as exciting as the first book! It is absolutely necessary to read Alice Will first to get the full scope of what is happening in this book.
Trotter saved the world but because of petty politics and refusing to be forced to choose a dominion, she has been banished to Aevum. As she begins to love her new home, it too is thrown into chaos as the whole world begins to tilt and is plunged into endless night. Trotter immediately jump into action to do what she can to save her new home but she may be forced into a dominion after all.
I was very excited to read the second book in this series and while I do miss some of the characters from the previous book, this one has so many to love as well. Trotter is still as fierce as ever and as unyielding as she can be when it comes to her morals and I applaud her for that.
Ashley Chappell has created a wonderful world and an amazing coming of age story with a tough as nails female lead and I would recommend this series to anyone.

Tilt is the second book if the Alice Chaos series by Ashley Chappell. I would definitely advise reading the first book to this series, one because it's fantastic and two the first book really helps set the scene which makes the second more enjoyable. Yet again, Ashley Chappell has written another fantastic book, I couldn't wait to pick this book up after reading the first one and diving in to this refreshing fantasy world, I was not disappointed. As soon as you start you are back there and you don't want to leave.

Trotter has had troubles coming to find a balance with her powers, especially after her ordeal with the bed that has left it's scars! Trotter is a determined heroin but not your normal heroin, she is different. She is always trying to prove herself worthy and her determination is what helps her to achieve saving what she believes is worth fighting for.

Looking forward to the next book!

Tilt- Ashley Chappell

4-star review

Tilt is another page-turning fantasy read by Ashley Chappell. This is the second book of her Dreams of Chaos series. I would strongly suggest reading the first book before this one as it will give a much better understanding of these characters and their worlds along with their history. Tilt follows Trotter in her battle with choosing to be the goddess she wants to be and her journey in learning to not let her power take complete control of who she is. I was surprised at how emotional I felt while reading this book, Ashley made it possible to connect to these characters so easily that it felt as if I was right alongside them on this journey.

I actually liked this book better than the first, I found it easier to follow along and it had such a great storyline that completely held my attention the whole way through. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for their next fantasy read!

Tilt: Dreams of Chaos Book 2 by Ashley Chappell is a wonderfully told imaginative story. I would suggest that you read book one first,as it will set a foundation for some of the characters and will help knowing where this one picks up.
I loved reading this book just as much as the first one. There is so much detail in the character building and the worlds that take place in this story that you feel like you are a part of this fantastical story. I absolutely loved Trotter’s character in the first book and i am glad to find that i loved her just as much in this one as well, her bravery is unparalleled. I enjoyed meeting new characters that were introduced in this book. The author does an amazing job sucking you into this fantasy world that she has created, there is adventure, and moments where your on the edge of your seat. I recommend this book for those who want to get pulled into a world of wonder and danger.

Tilt: Dreams of Chaos Book 2 by Ashley Chappell.
Ms. Chappell you are amazing. I love your visions you relay in your stories. This world in which you have created is powerful and the message is great as well. Her characters come to life through her story telling.
We pick up with Trotter the half human/half goddess. Trotter is taking a stand because she has been forsaken by her parents due to part of her not choosing a dominion as her parents wanted her too. She is still showing her power as her world is being tilted into eternal darkness. Ms. Chappell is showing her character’s strength throughout her struggles of the two worlds. The pace is fast moving so Trotter and you will be building up throughout the story.
If you like fanasty, mythology, actions, and danger right around the corner the Chaos stories are for you.

Tilt is book 2 in the Dreams of Chaos series written by Ashley Chappell. Alice Will is book one in the series and A God of God’s will follow Tilt. You need to read book one in order to fully understand everything that has happened so far. Book 2 begins with Trotter and Prowler (her companion and enchanted cat) trying to get control of her powers and figure out her life. In book one Trotter was banished and now she’s trying to cope with that decision and come to terms with everything that happened. Tilt is full of it’s own special problems that Trotter has to try to over come once again but will she succeed…

Tilt Dreams of Chaos Book 2 by Ashley Chappell is a well written story that is action packed YA fantasy that has adventure and magic, gods and mythology, magical and lore, mystery and mystical creatures that is set in different worlds. This book continues on from where the first book left off and is a little bit darker but there is adventure, humor and stubborn bravery in our lead heroine as she fights to learn more about herself, her magic and the evil invading her home.

If you like a good fantasy with danger and chaos that is entertaining and magical then Tilt is for you.

First and foremost, I would strongly recommend to read the first book in the series before this one; this is definitely not a standalone read. You immediately enter a vivid world of incredibly intricate, complex characters that take some time to establish in the story. A bit more patience than average is required to get to a point where everything starts to come together. But once it does, like me, you won’t be able to put it down. Chappell delivers a very well-written novel with broader vocabulary that would be fit for a young adult or adult audience interested in fantasy.
