The Battle for Andalon Rages as Our Heroes Plunge the World into Chaos

Here is the second volume of T.B. Phillips’ action-packed series Dreamers of Andalon. Critics agree that his characters are so vivid they come to life, driving the reader to tears of both dread and celebration as he paints a world directly into your mind. This modern fantasy combines magic with emotion while promising political intrigue and adventure. Each page transports you to a realm of dueling worlds, one advanced and the other locked in the age of sail and pirates.

Andalon Arises

War has found Andalon unprepared. Robert Esterling faces a dire choice in his war against his brother – trust the dastardly Braen Braston and his band of pirates and outlaws, or continue to wait on defectors to join his cause. Finally controlling his power, he faces an imminent threat from a new foe, one that has joined forces with the Falconers and changed the battlefield forever. Braen and Eusari have delivered a new era to Pirate’s Cove, ushering in a time of peace and promised prosperity. Each now have their sights on the evil king of Fjorik, and scheme to end his reign of terror under the Braston sigil. This story also journeys to the southern continent as a father fights to reunite his family, enlisting the aid of a seasick landlubber and a fiery teen wielding her power without caution.

A new danger threatens Andalon from across the sea, as Chancellor Jakata makes plans to send modern troops to quell the insurrection. While he struggles against the rise of terror in his own continent, a sister must decide whether to risk her life and reputation to interfere in or aid the plans made by her brother stirring up the chaos in Andalon.

The Battle for Andalon is on and all Hands are on Deck!”

”In this dystopian vision, author T.B.Phillips has created a page-turner - a book that is challenging to read, but a very rewarding one. The writing style is cinematic, the pace is good, and the characters are captivating. I especially like the female heroines, who are feisty warriors. There is plenty of contrast in the depiction of characters and they feel real because of their human flaws. The epic sea-battles are especially convincing, since the author draws on a world he knows well.

The best thing about this book is the detailed world-building. There is a sense of mystery and a world beyond the book, a magical or spiritual dimension which is explored by the emotants and their animal familiars. Co-existing with this idea of magic and prophecy, is the reality of political machinations and a brutish world where duplicity reigns. The book is thought-provoking." - Suzy Davies, ⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑

T.B. Phillips debuted in 2019 with his award winning series Dreamers of Andalon, a cautionary fantasy adventure taking place twelve hundred years in our future and set in the age of sail. He has been lauded for his skillfully choreographed sea battles and action sequences, painting a vibrant picture of detail directly into the reader's mind.

He is a former sailor and educator. He served the United States Navy as a Chief Cryptologic Technician and Analyst, living out his own adventures while learning about the world. Many of characters are a sum of the people he met and interacted with during his travels, as evidenced by the comradery displayed in his novels. He retired from active duty in 2008 and taught English and History before becoming a public school principal.

He began his novelist journey after a challenge by his children. As a single father he worked hard to encourage literacy and interest in the arts, and he and his children read and discussed books of all genres throughout the years.

T.B. Phillips is originally from Wichita Falls, TX and resides in Fort Worth, TX with his beautiful wife (and super-intelligent marketing manager) and their blended family of six children.

He humbly thanks you for finding his work entertaining, and hopes to do so for many years to come!

If the author has a message, for me it seems that he is saying it is O.K to be imperfect, and that nurture and what we show our children strongly influences, but does not determine, the kinds of people they will become. We can all grow and develop. We can overcome our perceived limitations. The book is thought-provoking.

There were a handful of editing errors. However, given the strength of the writing, I highly recommend this book.

Very well written and engaging

I would recommend this book for readers high school or above. The subject matter is mature, which, in my opinion, would make it unsuitable for younger readers. But there isn’t graphic detail or language involved, which is refreshing. I’d call it TV-14 if I had to give it a rating....

The story itself flows together well. The author tells the story using wording that is intelligent while not sounding like he was browsing a thesaurus trying to do so. There was no asking, “When would someone actually use that word outside of a spelling bee?” He uses his words with a purpose. And that purpose is to craft a well written and engaging story. One that I can’t wait to continue reading as soon as the next book is finished!

I read book one upon publication and am eager to dive into the second book. Phillips is a master world-builder, but his true strength resides in creating profoundly human characters with painful pasts that drive their actions and compel the plot forward. Highly anticipated and eagerly recommended to fans of swashbuckling fantasy and powerful emotions!

Building off the premise of the first, I feel like this story has more: both pros and cons. The naval scenes are awesome as ever and it's fun to revisit familiar characters, I find this book does have some moments of manufactured tension which is completely unnecessary when the scope has widened for the reader and given them much more to actually be tense about. The lore is deepened, questions are answered while asking a few more to get the reader hooked. The story gives of an almost Attack on Titan vibe with it's hints at an old world and dark, no one is safe from death approach to killing off characters. Overall a mature story that engages and inspires.

Andalon Arises Book 2 introduces new characters that keep you looking forward to discovering their special gifts. The characters are wonderfully twisted into a well thought out story of deceit and survival. The emotions of the characters will have your heart racing, crying, anger of betrayal, you’ll feel their step by step transformation that holds the elements of earth bringing clashings of power. Like Andalon Awakins, you will not want to put this book down. T.B.Phillips bring us book 3. Excellent book!

Having met TB Phillips at a bookclub meeting and then becoming friends resulted in me being lucky enough to be a beta reader for Andalon Arises. The characters and world he makes you visually feel and care about picks right back up. Bringing in more and more. Love how he is weaving the tail and can't wait to see what secrets and elements will unfold. TB Phillips is definitely Author that will be going places! I can see this going big...

I feel this book had a few too any characters and so it was confusing at times. It was hard to keep everyone straight, so it didn't read as smoothly as I hoped.
I did really enjoy listening to the author, and having him tell us all about his book and answer questions when we met him. You can tell he is very passionate about his Andalon world he has created, and he should be. So much has gone into his books, that I wish everyone had the chance to hear him tell about his characters.
