I’ve been a writer since I was seven years old when I conceived my very first short fiction piece, a suspenseful tale of terror and triumph about a puppy stuck at the top of a very tall sliding board because he’s afraid to slide down. As I recall this plotline came to me as I was sitting at the top of a very tall sliding board with a long line of other second graders behind me yelling, “Are you gonna slide or what?” As an artist, I’ve always responded well to pressure.

Since the puppy (who made it, by the way, for anyone who’s worried), I’ve written and released ten and a half full-length novels and many, many short stories, published with two big publishers (Berkeley-Penguin and Pocket Books-Simon & Schuster), a couple of small indie publishers, and all by my itty bitty self. With my sister, Alexandra Christian, I write, edit, and publish for Little Red Hen Romance, a micro-press for the kind of romances we want to read.

I’m a graduate of the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Winthrop University, so if we went to school together, by all means drop me a note at lucybluecastle@gmail.com and say hi. I’m married to game designer and artist Justin Glanville.

Roxanna is a vampire princess woken up by Garrett's voice as he's being attacked. She saves him and keeps him alive, only to eat from but feelings starts forming between the two and romance ensues. Dramatic and exciting with a decent romance to go along with the story, I ended up enjoying it, even though I haven't read the other books in the series. The book app im using is bad at stating if the book is part of a series and in what order.. But I should probably look it up more before jumping in. Might read the others. Not sure yet

The last book in the 'Bound in Darkness' series proved to be a good read but not really memorable. There was a nice mix of romance and action but still it was unable to hold my thoughts for long. So a good book, but not exactly great.

Awakened from a long but undetermined slumber, Roxanna once again hoped to end her eternal life. However, something stops her. The sense of her tormentor, her greatest enemy, the creature that made her what she is now. Kivar still lives and she must she, to stop him.

Finding a dying man, stabbed in the back and stomach and most likely beyond her aid, Roxanna decides to bring him to a small hut, heal him and…feed from him until she can regain her strength. However, Roxanna instead finds herself wholeheartedly dedicated to saving this stranger’s life. Whoever he is, he’s a fighter. Most men would have succumbed to such wounds by now, yet this man lives. Roxanna tends to him well enough that when he awakens, he considers her his angel. Yet Roxanna knows that she is a monster and cannot allow herself to get too close.

When Gareth awakens, his angel is gone. His clan, have happened upon him, fearing his death after Gareth didn’t return to the castle. He should be dead, ambushed and slaughtered along with his men. Yet he lives, thanks to Roxanna, a vampire princess whom he’s come to love. He feared he might never see her again, yet she shows up at his family’s castle, stating the creature Kivar has come and it is a threat to everything and everyone he holds dear.

I enjoyed this book. It was simply written but the plotline was decent and straightforward. I found Roxanna’s character extremely likable as she was neither stupid nor flighty. She was willing to do anything to finally end Kivar’s threat but that didn’t stop her from developing bonds with people. Not just Gareth but with his clan too. Gareth was a nice character although I cannot say much of anything towards him. He was kind of bland. Loyal, handsome, knightly… etc.

This is the last book (I think!) in this series although there are a few loose ends that I think could lead to further books if the author was so inclined. I think this one was by far the best of the series. As with the others, it was fast moving and engrossing and tied everything together nicely before the final war between good and evil. I rather hope that there are more books to come!

I didn't think I was going to like this one at first, but just after half way through the first chapter, I couldn't put it down. This is a must read for anyone who loves a good vampire story.
