I have followed the Dark Musicals Trilogy from the start, and from the very first chapter of Phantom I was hooked! The use of classic musicals as the backdrop for a hip YA novel was new to me! The characters Rebecca and Justyn were likeable and Ms. Deluca portrayed the hesitancy and intensity of young, new love very well in Phantom, that was only intensified by murder and mystery. Then In Demon, Ms. Deluca, was able to once again show her mastery of story telling, by bringing Rebecca and Justyn back again; but this time showing the maturity of not only the characters individually, but that of their relationship as well as the surrounding characters viewpoints of the couple, and what they meant to the other. Now of course throw in some adtl. murder, mystery and magic which continued to make the trilogy a one of a kind! Now with Hyde, Ms. Deluca proved how incredible her ability to reflect realistic characters and situations, with a supernatural bent; she continues to surprise me.

In Hyde Rebecca and Justyn are back, facing more intrigue, while adjusting to astounding new landmarks in their young lives and relationship! I hesitate on giving away what those landmarks are due to, I do not wish to spoil the last book:O) But I will say that Ms. Deluca was still able in the last book, where many others may have difficulty to “show” any new circumstance that would keep the readers attention, just wishing to “wrap things up”. Well, Ms. Deluca did not do that;just as with the first, Ms. Deluca created a story that intrigue, entertained and kept the reader in tuned and completely in love with Rebecca and Justyn’s love!

Hyde was a extremely well written work, enjoyable characters, I loved Carmen, who was very outspoken and committed to her ideals, beliefs and Tom:) I enjoyed seeing another side of Justyn, somewhat darker which served to make the character well rounded, and realistically reflected this couple devotion to the other. I became sadden, afraid, found humor, and became incensed at all the right moments, where Ms. Deluca masterfully weaved a tale that appealed to all my senses and kept me as a reader totally invested.

So clearly I wish to say Hyde, was well written with a plot that flowed smoothly, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader off kilter. Every loose end was tied and I truly hate to see this cast of characters go. But Hyde was a fitting end, and although the curtain has closed on the Dark Musicals trilogy, I looked forward to great new stories from this author.

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third book in the Dark Musicals trilogy by Laura DeLuca. I must say that this is my favourite book of the three. I think the biggest reason why was because I couldn't figure out who the bad guy was and if had no idea until their identity was revealed. Also the romance in this instalment was top notch. I even "awed" out loud a few times, it was so cute. I'm really sad to see these series come to an end because I am really invested in the story and the characters.
I loved watching Justyn and Rebecca grow over the course of the series. Despite their terrible luck they never gave up once. You could really feel how much they love each other by their willingness to sacrifice themselves for each other.. I did find Becca to be a tad bit whiny in this book, but that could have been her condition. The villain was way more mysterious this time around. I was very surprised to find out who it was and they were pretty far down on my suspect list.
The Dark Musicals is an awesome mystery/ suspense series. The story and characters really grow on you and again I'm very sad for it to come to an end. I would recommend this book and series to mystery lovers and those looking for a thrill.

I must say out of the trilogy this book is by far my fave! Justyn is still Justyn all into his girl, "if it was for me, it probably would have been. However, Becca's taste doesn't run toward the grotesque and disturbing, so I decided to stay traditional." Becca is still all for her man and we see her grow some balls and stand up to her dad (who really doesn't like Justyn) "his name is Justyn, dad." Rebecca slammed a soda bottle down on the counter. "And I don't think I love him. I do love him. That's never going to change. Why can't you accept him and be happy for me?" In this book we see a different side of Justyn, I mean I was kinda shocked to see it but I guess everyone has their moments, "I'm fine, Darlene," he insisted. "You don't have to make such a big fuss. Parking lot brawls are nothing compared to your yoga classes." I have to say I'm sad to see Justyn and Becca's story end and I'm actually kinda hoping to see a novella come out with Tom and Carmen's story. I think that would be interesting.

Hyde is without a doubt my favorite of the Dark Musical series. In addition to the romance, excitement and mystery, we get another adventure and yet another journey for this duet. A definite must read for any fans of the genre.

Rebecca and Justyn are working their butts off to survive. Each slaving with their jobs to make ends meet while finishing up their schooling and continuing on with their musical careers. Their bond as a couple has grown very strong and I continue to adore them as a couple. These two (of course) ran into another startling mystery. But this one is very hard to solve. Murder, drugs, deceit and envy. Who is friend and who is foe?

I’m unsure if this is the last of the series, but either way. I loved the ending! It’s a very satisfying read and I strongly recommend to any thinking about reading this to go back and read book 1 and 2 of the series first so you get to grow with the characters the same as I have :)
4.5 rating rounded to a solid 5. I am VERY happy with where the author went.

OH MY WOW!!!
Loved this series since book one!! I loved that there weren’t really answers but just teensie little tid bits throughout the entire story as you read and then BAM all over again… Laura DeLuca does a fantastic job of telling Rebecca and Justyn’s relationship and their trials and how meant for each other they truly are!! I so very much loved reading this series and will definitely continue reading it over and over and recommending it to everyone I know that likes mystery, thrillers, and modernizations of older stories and even musicals! Anyone that likes drama would be sure to love these books!!

I give this book 5 of 5 shields!!

*Spoiler Alert!*

Wow! This trilogy never ceases to amaze me! Sequels and continuation books hardly ever stand up to the originals, which is very saddening for book lovers everywhere! I believe this trilogy has accomplished that rare quality of a great continuation!

Laura has done an amazing job spinning the tale of Justyn and his "angel of music" Becca's love for each other, phantom, and the music that they share.

This book kept me guessing who the killer was until the last 5 chapters!! I was blown away when the true mastermind was reviled and his helpers were also reviled! I was so shocked that i had to physically lay down the book and just let my mind comprehend what had just happened! Granted i get a little but too much into these books (hardly;) ), i would not have been able to form a coherent thought had i been asked to after the reveal!

It felt that when I figured something out, a new clue would turn up that flipped my assumption upside down! The twists and turns that made this novel exciting, also created suspense that kept you reading until the very end!

The suspense, drama, love, and joy Laura sets up in these books are so involving! Throughout the trilogy, I could feel what Becca, Justyn, and all the other characters were feeling. For example when they got married, I was crying tears of joy because the love they had for each other which was so brilliantly shown that I felt it, I sensed it, and I wanted that in real life!

I understand I get very into these books and seem very strange considering how personal these books were. But this is by FAR one of the BEST series/ trilogies that I have ever read!

I highly recommend this trilogy to ANYONE who wants to read amazing books about love, music, death, and much, much more! Even if you don't like musicals, still give them a chance! You don't have to know the music or show to understand any of these books! Any info needed about the show is brilliantly given.

Please, please, PLEASE get a copy of this,or any of the dark musical trilogy books, and read them! It was one of the most rewarding investments i've ever made! You won't regret this!

Review: I was given a copy of Hyde from Ashley’s Reading bliss for an honest review. I loved this book! I think it is my favorite out of the three books! There is romance, mystery and excitement. I love a good romance/adventure. It makes the book more thrilling. I love a book that keeps me on my toes and this book and series has definitely done that for me.

I loved this series. This was a great way to end these books. Laura I think you did a wonderful job in writing this story and Phantom and Demon! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!!!!

***May Contain Spoilers To Book 1 Phantom****

Wow this series just got even better and I didn't think that was possible. This is probably my favorite book by Laura DeLuca. I love the characters, the story, the writing all of it.

Laura writes in a way that makes the reader engaged and you feel like you are there due to the great descriptive narrative in the book. This story picks up where Phantom left off with Tom and Carmen together and Rebecca and Justyn about to leave for school together.

Once they get to college they get settled in and try out for the current school play Demon Barber. The producer of the play doesnt' seem to like Becca right away and he is know for being tough. At try outs Becca makes friends with Megan, Quinn, and Frankie. But she makes enemies with Livy, Chad, and Scott.

Livy is trying out for the same spot Becca wants the lead. Livy wants the lead oh and Justyn, Becca's boyfriend of a year. Livy has two minions Chad and Scott who are rude, and annoying.

Once the play is cast things start to get a little odd. There is a serial rapist on campus and he has a thing for attacking blondes. Lucky for Becca she is burnette right?!

Things start to get a little odd when events from Demon Barber start playing out right before there eyes and there is no telling who to trust and who not to trust.

The twist and turns made this story so much fun to read. The characters had so much growth and development throughout the book it was so delightful to watch. I loved Justyn so much in this book!!! He is such a wonderful main character along side Becca.

I can't wait for the third book Hyde!!!!!

Even though this was provided by the author I will be buying it when it comes out because I loved it so much!!!!!!

From the Militant Recommender Book Review Blog:
http://militantrecommender.blogspot.com/

This is the third (but we hope NOT last) of the theatre themed Dark Musicals books featuring everyone's favorite Goth hero, Justyn , make that LORD Justyn, Patko. This story begins with Justyn and Rebecca once again portraying the roles that brought them together...the Phantom and Christine. This time they are college students. After the final performance... Justyn, still in costume, surprises Becca with a proposal, which she, of course, accepts. Who wouldn't?

In order to save money for their off-campus apartment for their senior year at college, Becca and Justyn accept summer jobs starring in the musical "Hyde" at a dinner theatre in Cape May, New Jersey. Also along for the fun, and part of the cast, are their high school friends Carmen and Tom. Besides acting, they will also be earning extra income as wait-staff at local restaurants. With so much on their plate will the friends survive the summer?

As the leads in the play, and new to the cast, Justyn and Becca feel resentment from the more experienced, adult cast regulars. A couple of them are downright nasty. And, if that wasn't enough to deal with, there's also a theatre ghost, Grace Hamilton, the murdered bride of a doctor who originally owned the theatre. Plus, as they throw themselves into their roles and get ready for opening night, Justyn seems to be slowly identifying with the role he's taken on. There are also secrets and surprises, mysteries to solve, crimes committed and family issues to deal with. Will all this stress get to them? Grab a copy, or download one and follow our favorite couple as the curtain comes down on this addicting series!

A totally brilliant ending to this fantastic series! I couldn't have imagined a better way to conclude the wonderful Dark Musicals trilogy. It had thrills, mystery, romance and it was all perfect.

Rebecca has grown so much, into a much stronger character. She was brilliant and I liked her all the more by the end of this book.

Justyn is as sweet and romantic as ever, even when burdened with the possibility of being accused of a crime he didn't commit. I just adore this guy. He was perfection!

The romance was so sweet and perfect. Rebecca and Justyn definitely have the kind of true love that everyone wishes for. They're absolutely perfect together.

The plot was fast paced. As with the previous books in the series, I never suspected who was responsible. It was a huge shock. I was on the edge of my seat the entire way through. And the ending was amazing, a more perfect ending I couldn't even imagine.

Hyde was a perfect ending to this series. Though I'm sad to see these characters go, I couldn't think of a better way for their story to end. Fans of the series, you won't be disappointed with this book. If you haven't started the series, you really should because you're missing out on a brilliant trilogy.

This is the end, this is the end, my friend. Sigh, I can't believe this book is the end of the Dark Musicals trilogy. I read this book with a lot of trepidation because I really hate when a book series that I've really liked ends. It's hard to say goodbye but as the infamous saying goes, "all good things must come to an end." What I can tell you, is that this book was a fantastic ending to this trilogy.

Okay, so this is the last book in the trilogy. Do you need to read the other two books? No, you don't but you really should. DeLuca does a good job of reminding readers what happened in the previous books without this book having parts that feel like simply a rehash of the previous two books. That being said, you should read the first two books because this is just a really fun trilogy.

As with "Phantom" and "Demon," Hyde focuses on a murder mystery. Justyn and Rebecca score awesome jobs as the lead in a local dinner theater's production of Hyde and they think it's going to be great. Quickly they realize that once again, not everything is as it seems. Because Justyn and Becca are smart, they're able to slowly unravel the mystery of what the theater may actually be a front for.

This is definitely a book that will keep you turning the pages. I've loved these characters and I've loved the mystery in each of these books. I love being surprised by twists and turns and "Hyde" is definitely full of them! I'm sad to say goodbye to this series but I'm excited to see what else Ms. DeLuca comes up with!

Larua DeLuca strikes again! I have become extremely attached to this series and am sad to see it end. Lord Justyn and his leading lady Becca have wormed their way into my heart and taken up permanent residence. I wanted to give this book more than five stars, but sadly that is all that I am allowed to give it.

It's the summer vacation and Justyn and Becca have to work in order to make sure that they have the money to pay for their rent. Not only that but they find themselves to be the stars in a dinner theater production of the dark story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Not only are Justyn and Becca working, but they are surprising their families with a wonderful surprise. Well...Becca happens to have another surprise that doesn't come out until it's almost too late.

Justyn and Becca are about to learn that their summer isn't what they hoped it to be. While they thought they put all the craziness of the past productions behind them, they realize that they haven't. The production of Hyde brings out a whole new case of people who are out to get them, only for different reasons.

With her best friend in tow and of course Tom, Becca is out to make sure that Justyn and her get their happily ever after, even if it does end up endangering not only her life but Justyn's as well.

I love how Laura depicts these plays and really brings them to life. It captivates the reader in such a way that it's impossible to put the book down.

This is the final book in a series which has most definitely captured my attention and it has become one of my favourite book series.

Each story is based upon 2 main characters, Justyn and Rebecca, who become known in the theatrical world for the chemistry between them. The books focus on a particular theatre production, this one obviously being the story of Jekyll and Hyde.

All 3 books have reminded me very much of the Scream films, where there is a link between the protagonists. This story is no different, as it brings together characters we have known before, new characters who may or may not be involved in what is going on, and thoughts Justyn and Rebecca into something which they may well find too much to get through!

I have always loved the chemistry between Justyn and Rebecca and this book just strengthens that for me. Rebecca finally stands up to her father in this book, as she and Justyn share some happy news with their families. Justyn goes through a really hard time, and proving he is innocent becomes harder than ever. But with Rebecca's love surely they can survive once again?

I am so sad to see this series finally come to an end, but the author has finished it off perfectly in my eyes, and they have the chance to live HEA.

A great story to bring a great series to an end.

I've been a huge fan of the Dark Musicals series since the first book, Phantom. I've definitely gushed about my love for musicals in my previous two reviews for Phantom and Demon, but I'll say it here again: DeLuca writes a story that will thrill musical theater and old-fashioned drama lovers.

At the heart of this series is the relationship between Rebecca and Justyn. It's no doubt that these two are soulmates, and reading about their musical duets together is enough to send a shiver down my spine.
But there's another kind of chilling, spine-shivering work afoot: once again, Rebecca and Justyn's show is threatened by some evil forces. Is it the work of the ghost that haunts the dinner theater? One of the shady cast members out for blood? I was left guessing throughout Hyde!

I love the parallels DeLuca draws between her characters and the characters in the musical. It's a terrifying, awe-inspiring treat to see Justyn begin to mirror the characters of Jekyll and Hyde, while Rebecca looks on as his frightened but loyal lover.

The couple, alongside their families and friends, face many trials throughout Hyde. It was exhilarating to follow them through the plot to its satisfying conclusion.

This is the 3rd book of the Dark Musicals Trilogy (you can see my others here and here) and this time our talented duo Justyn and Rebecca have the staring roles in a Dinner Theater's musical of Hyde in Cape May with their friends Carmen and Tom.

These two kids brought together thanks to their love of musicals and Phantom of the Opera just can't stay out of trouble but this time they are not only boyfriend and girlfriend but engaged to be married.

Is it their talent or beauty that makes people around them lose their mind? I am not sure but trouble has a way of following these love birds.

With Justyn apparently getting into his character, more and more by the day, a theater ghost who always seems to show up at just the right time and surprises and mysteries to solve, our heroine Rebecca finds herself busy and holding a secret that will change their lives forever.

These books are a fun read, with twists and turns along the way and by the end you will have thought everyone was the killer until the moment it is revealed. Laura is a great story teller who loves her characters and will make you fall in love with them as well.

This is the final book in the Dark Musicals trilogy, a series that has followed Rebecca and Justyn as they pursue their dream of a life in theatre. Each book features the pair performing in a different production that ends up becoming a little too real for their tastes.

This time around, the pair has landed the lead roles in a dinner theatre production of Jekyll and Hyde. They not only have to deal with resentful co-stars and financial issues, but much more serious problems with Justyn ends up in a situation that could potentially ruin everything they’ve worked for.

Deluca had me so engrossed and anxious to see how this one would turn out, I finished it in less than 24 hours. I felt Rebecca’s emotions as she deals with a painful secret, as well as her hurt as she tries to reach out to a man who’s almost become a stranger to her in some ways. It’s a satisfying conclusion to a trilogy I’m sorry to see end. Highly recommended for anyone who loves YA with a little mystery and theater added in the mix.

The thrilling conclusion to the Dark Musicals Trilogy was everything I could hope for an more. Justyn and Rebecca are in the Victorian town of Cape May, interning at a dinner theater. The longer they're there, the stranger things get and Justyn seems to have a split personality just like his character. When he's accused of a crime it seems to insane to be true but sometimes she's just not sure. This book has a little of everything--crime, murder, drugs, and even domestic abuse handled with respect. There's even a real live theater ghost that would make the Phantom proud. Not to mention a big secret Rebecca is hiding that could change both their lives. I couldn't have asked for a better ending...the only bad thing...the series is over. I'm going to miss Lord Justyn but I know I'll be rereading this whole series more then once in the years to come. My favorite series by far.

What a wonderful dark twisted mysterious book! I loved Justyn and Rebecca! They are a great couple. As they embark on their next journey in life now engaged they may have taken on more than they expected. Getting their first paid acting jobs performing Hyde in Cape May for the summer they quickly discover they are not the faves among the older cast members. They take it in stride and try to not let it stop them from their performance after all the show must go on. Then strange dark twisted things begin to happen like mist rising in the night secrets looming could bring down the curtain in more than just the show. Can our couple survive what waits for them in the shadows or will this be their final casting call? I enjoyed reading Hyde and hope that they're maybe more from this series. I recommend sitting down with a cup of tea and getting to know The Dark Musical Trilogy!

Laura DeLuca does it again turning a great musical, Hyde into a great thriller. As Justyn and Becca set out for the summer to preform at a dinner theater in Cape May. As in the story all the characters seem to have two faces and when Justyn is wrongly accused of something Becca sets out to solve the mystery but things only get worst and problems see to come from know where. They make friends they make enemies bent on doing away with them. The story is great and intriguing and differently makes you what to keep reading. The ending I could read over and over and everything gets answered but they must figure out how to survive the answers as to who is behind all there problems. It is not only a Good read it is a Great read. One that all should enjoy in her series of musical thrillers.

*I received this book from the author via Lady Amber's Tours in exchange for an honest review*

I almost cried when I came to the end of this book and realized that it was over. There would be no more new stories with Lord Justyn and Lady Rebecca.
This story jumps a bit into the future. Justyn and Rebecca have been together for four years when this one starts. Like the other two, this one too takes a musical and brings it to life in the modern world. Hyde was done eerily well. I did figure out whodunit a lot sooner with this one than with Phantom or Demon, but by this book, I'd pretty much figured out to expect the unexpected which made figuring it out a lot easier.I did however, quite enjoy Grace's role in the story. the small Paranormal role was a nice twist.
There were even less errors in this one than in Demon, which makes it a vast improvement over Phantom in that area.
With the series over, I feel almost a sense a loss. Being Pagan, I find myself always wishing for just one more story where the characters share my faith. I really enjoyed the scenes with the Wiccan rituals in all three books. I loved how open-minded Rebecca was to learning about Wicca to understand Justyn better.
I look forward reading this author's other works now that I've gotten a taste of her amazing talent.
I give this book 5 of 5 paws

The third book in the series definitely is in keeping with the last two books, but for some reason, it just did not resonate with me the same way. I still love Justyn, but he is also older and I expected a bit more from him. And although she worried me at times, Rebecca was definitely the more solid, stronger character. As a sidekick, Carmen was actually kind of annoying.

In Hyde, Justyn and Rebecca are on summer break before heading back to their last year of college. They get jobs, including one working at dinner theater in a tourist location that is haunted by a ghost. They both have lead roles in the play Hyde at the dinner theater. Things start to go drastically wrong for the couple thanks to disgruntled employees, murder, drugs, lack of trust, secrets, etc. And poor Justyn is the scapegoat for all of the bad things. His friends begin to question his integrity, they get into altercations with other cast members and employees at the restaurant, the police, and each other. Similar to the other books, it takes me a while to figure out who the actual perpetrators of the crimes are because there is a host of potential suspects. My frustration with this book was more around why the main characters behaved the way they did, after having gone through other painful and dangerous situations in the past. I would still recommend this series as I think the books are really well done, especially with how they are tied in with the actual musicals...and I love musicals.
