I hate to do this, especially since I’m almost at the end but my gosh, it was just never ending! And Nathan was getting on my nerves with the push and pull with Sasha. Yes, I get GFY/OFY and how scary it must be to someone who’s never felt an attraction for another person of the same sex. But the author made Nathan really dislikeable. I know it’s not a proper word but argh! I just hated Nathan by the end of it. It’s all about him. His fears, his feelings, his insecurities, his everything! And honestly, you can win against witches and succubi and other supernatural creatures but yet you fail time and time again against a regular, older man? 3 young strapping, fit men, 2 of which have supernatural powers and strength and you fail against a middle aged man every single time?!?!? How does that work??! Sorry, ranting.

I decided I had to give up when the latest scenario had them walking straight into traps they knew were there. Which did NOT make any sense 🤦🏻‍♀️

Review:
This was one of those books that just called to me and seemed like something I would love, and I’m so glad I trusted my instincts because they were so right! I devoured this first book, then immediately devoured the next one, then waited an agonizing five months for the third one and re-read them all back to back, not wanting to miss a single detail.

The best thing about these books was the emotion. Every single scene, every single word, had more emotion behind it than I even thought possible. And although Nathan and Sasha’s romance was the crowning feature, the emotion wasn’t just about that or about them. It was also about sibling/family relationships, friendships, side characters’ relationships, each of the characters’ pasts, their worries for the future, inner demons, obstacles popping up along the way, and more.

Speaking of Nathan and Sasha’s relationship though… Sometimes it had me grinning like a fool. Other times it had me tearing up. But it was always adorable and always the kind of romance that will ruin you for all future relationships because you will never have one that perfect! (And you won’t find any alpha males here, just communication, balance, and two people who love each other).

As for the characters themselves, I don’t think I’ve ever loved so many characters in one book before. Especially Sasha, who I will totally take if Nathan doesn’t want him ;-) He was playful, fun, loving, and open. He had some angst and sadness from his past, but he wasn’t the typical tortured hero. Not to mention his incubus form sounded absolutely beautiful!

Anyway, I’m done gushing. This was a swoon-worthy M/M paranormal with lovable characters that I truly enjoyed reading!

*I've read this book multiple times. This review was written after my 2nd read.*

3rd Read Update:
I've contacted this author twice now to tell her that these books made me almost cry. And I'm not even a crier. It's just these books that do this to me. They're not even sad, they just fill me with so much emotion---sometimes I feel awful for the characters, but usually it's good emotion---that I think my brain doesn't even know what to do with it, and so it's like, "Wha-- What is this? Should we cry? That's the protocol for good feelings, right?" I just love the relationships between the characters and how so very fucking cute and happy they are that it makes me want to cry.

Anyway, five years later, and my first review still holds, clearly. There are some things I didn't mention though that I want to mention now, in case anyone is not yet convinced to try this series.

I feel like I didn't do the romance justice in my first review. I loved the slow build of it. Nathan's confusion, since he'd never been attracted to a man before. Sasha's frustration because of Nathan's denial and constant hot-and-cold behavior. The tension between them that even Jim could feel. The heat every time they touched or kissed. How ridiculously cute they were when together.

The sex scenes also deserve a mention because, yes, they're hot, but also because this author writes about sex so beautifully.

I also never mentioned the writing, but it's very good too. It flowed and pulled me in and made me forget I was even reading/listening to words.

Speaking of which, this author is so good at conveying such natural emotion. I know I have already talked about this, multiple times, but it still amazes me. I don't know how she does it. But there's just so much emotion in the book, always, without it ever feeling forced or overdone.

I forgot how flawed Nathan was, but I appreciated it. He was prejudiced against fae for illogical reasons, not good at being compassionate because he felt awkward comforting people, didn't want to talk about things, lied to himself about things, and was kind of stubborn, confrontational, and unable to keep his mouth shut when he felt strongly about something. But he was also someone who would do anything for his brother, who gave Sasha a chance despite the fact that he was fae, and who cared about and wanted happiness for those he considered friends. He was likeable and a good person but realistic with flaws, insecurities, confusion, and room to grow. And he did grow, even just in this first book.

This was the first book I ever read about incubi, and I think it might still be my favorite portrayal of the creature. Their sexy true form. How they need to feed from sex but do so (usually) without harming the person they're with. The way they can tap into other people's sexual connections and feed from that.

This story does have similarities to Supernatural (which I didn't realize the first time I read it because I hadn't seen the show), but this is its own story with unique characters. I know this is practically blasphemy, but I didn't care for the show, whereas I adored this series, so. Also, the plot is slightly episodic, but in a way that makes sense and didn't bother me because all of it connects directly to the main plot and builds on the character development and relationships.

So yeah! That was more of a whole review than an update, but I couldn't help myself. I just have so many thoughts and feelings about this book. I've loved it every time I've read it, I still think about it, and I definitely recommend it!

4.5 stars I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it! Uraban fantasy? Yes! Gay love story? Yes! Angst and Action? Yes and Yes!

A thoroughly enjoyable read, I don't have many specifics to comment on. I liked that Nathan wasn't perfect, and if anything Jim is the 'better' brother. More even-tempered, more empathetic. But that's why it works! And Sasha... oh Sasha. Love. Him.

They did a good job of wrapping up one story line but leaving an overarching plot, that I'm sure will carry throughout the trilogy. The next book is called Changeling, so I'm hoping we see more of Alex .

I kinda wanna jump right to book 2, but I also have a husband and a job and need to eat... so I feel like I should take a breather for a couple days and recover before diving in. And... something to look forward to!

This blew me away. This is exactly the kind of book I hope for when I grab a paranormal romance by an author unknown to me. It was an adventure from the very first page all the way to the end. Action packed, it managed to describe everything making it easy for the reader to picture but didn't bog down with descriptions. The relationships were so believable, especially between the brothers. It was easy to imagine their scared and lonely childhood together. I liked Sasha and wanted Nathan to get over his hangups already so they could be together. I was rooting for Jim but also frightened of what he could become and what that would do to Nathan.
Jim is a changeling, a kind of half fae that can be taken by full fae and forced to have an awakening of dark powers that will remove his humanity and his links to those he loves. Nathan, his fully human brother, goes to great lengths, putting himself in great danger to get Jim back and prevent that change from happening. The price he pays for this puts them on the run and, needing help more than they ever had before, they turn to a psychic friend who leads them to Sasha. Being an incubus, Sasha knew that Nathan was attracted to him even before Nathan realized it and certainly before Nathan would admit it, even to himself. Nathan is straight but there is something intoxicating, almost irresistible about Sasha. It is easy to blame it on his species, incubus are born to seduce, but it isn't long before Nathan knows it is something more, something much deeper than that. The story is filled with family issues and the boys realize that as different as they are, they share a great number of pains and betrayal. They know family isn't about blood and become more than family to each other.
About the sex, there is only one scene and it's at the end. Everyone, including the reader, is satisfied but the author steered clear of using explicit descriptions. There is no question what is happening but it was done tastefully, a true M/M romance, not gay erotica. It was erotic, don't get me wrong. It takes a while for them to get to the main event, what with all of the people and creatures chasing them and trying to kill them, but the parts where they yearned for each other, doing little more than kissing, were very sensual. I found myself groaning in frustration just as the characters were when something interrupted. I refuse to rate it more mature than any other PNR simply because it happens to be between two men. This is romance and, though I am not a male and can't say if it is accurate, it felt honest. I actually picked this one up, not realizing it was M/M romance. I saw the name Sasha Kelly and scanned right over the fact that he was a he. Fun read, enjoyable, not matter your orientation or preference in that of the characters.

This is a definite must-read! Incubus is a beautifully crafted story rich in detail. Amanda Meuwissen has created a world that draws from the classic fae myths of the Irish heritage and yet has tweaked the famous creatures from mythology to develop her own unique world of fairies, incubi, and other creatures. This story is an intoxicating mix of mythology, religious tidbits, and the down-to-earth struggles of Nathan, his brother, and an enticing temptation that changes who he is and what he believes in. Meuwissen's characters show extraordinary depth of personality - reacting to the various events of the story like you or me and maintaining the core of who they are despite life's challenges. If you're looking for a book to excite and keep you flipping pages just to find out what happens next, this is the one for you!

Are you a girl?

You are such a girl.

That is so girly.

I don't want comments like this in a book, it ruins the book completely. It's overrated and wrong.

Where to begin on this review...... okay first I have to start by saying that this is a M/M book and if it is not your forte please do not read this review!

With that being said I have to say that I absolutely loved this book and I can't wait for book two. In Incubus we get to meet Nathan and Jim Grier. They are twins with a twist see because Nathan is human and Jim is a changeling. As his powers come on stronger he is in danger and Nathan is willing to do anything to save his brother from any harm. So he does what any sibling would do for their sibling and seeks out help. Nathan turns to a Fae hunter named Sasha Kelly and together he and Sasha set out to keep Jim safe from harm.

As Nathan and Sasha set out to keep Jim safe Nathan starts to develop feelings for Sasha. At first he is in denial but as his feelings for Sasha grow deeper he will have to come face to face with his feelings. All Nathan wanted was a normal life but he is about to get anything but that because loving a man is hard but loving a man and trying to keep your brother safe is harder. Can Nathan and Sasha work out? Will they find out who is trying to hurt Jim?

This is an amazing story and I loved every minute of it. It had lots of twists and turns and I love to read stories that are not predictable.

This is more plotty and less smutty than the cover makes it look. The Incubus is quite nice, actually, and helping the brothers with the main plot, which is figuring out how to remove a curse mark while avoiding the supposedly-good guys who hunt supernatural creatures.

I would categorizine this as Urban Fantasy with romantic subplot; if you want more romance-centered, I recommend Meuwissen's Coming Up for Air.

WOW! This book totally rocked me. It was so good.

I really thought I was going to love it form the bio, but you never know. This was a requested review from the author and I was excited to get the chance to read it. BOY was I the one who made out in this situation as I got the Chance to read this EPIC book! Incubus books are some of my favorites, its something about them that I just Love. This one was definitely a stay from the norm but in a great way. Heads up, it is a gay romance, but a really great one so Please don’t let that stop you from reading it. It was So good.

The plot alone in this book grabs you. A Brother fighting with all her has to keep his brother with him. He literally gives his life to insure his bother is safe. Its a fast paces crime/romance/paranormal story about the bonds of family and friends and the strength of trust and forgiveness with ones-self. Its a story about finding out who you were while protecting those you love.

Though this story has a main plot, we gets to deal with lots of other everyday battles, self image, family struggles, acceptance, its a full scope with these boys and what they battle. Solving murders, hunting down clues, and finding out who they are. You never stop learning about their life in this book. Just enough at a time to keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can, but not enough to confuse you about the world they live in. Its an exciting world at that. Just you wait and see. Fae, Incubi, Succubi, Myths come to life, Legends, Runes, Spells, Antidotes, Murder, Epic Fights, Veils. We are treated to a world of wonder and excitement.

We were introduced to a lot in this book and given just enough to have some hints on where the next book will lead. I really hope Amanda is hidden away writing her heart out because I don’t think I can wait to long for this book. I May go crazy.I fell so in love with these characters and this world. Its original and gripping and the characters are real and original. Its truly a great read.

I got this book when it was free at Amazon. I wasn't sure at first because I'm not big fan of m/m fantasy/paranormal (with the exception being shifters), but once I started reading I was hooked! This was definitely not anything like I expected but way better. I couldn't put the book down til I finished. I just hope we get more of this series in published form soon.

💭 My Thoughts:
📖✨ This story is about family, friendship, and trust.
❤️‍🩹 It shows how love can protect and heal, even when the world feels dark.
At its heart, it is a journey of discovering who you truly are while protecting the people you love... 😍 Beautiful!

👬 Nathan and Jim’s bond as twins was beautiful and heartbreaking. One human, one 'changeling' (fae)... yet their love for each other was stronger than any magic. Nathan’s courage to fight for his brother, even when the risk was great, made my heart ached.

🖤 Sasha is so sweet... Being an incubus, his connection with Nathan was intense and complicated, but also surprisingly tender.
Their relationship shows that family is not just blood, but who stays with you through pain and betrayal.

🔥💣 The chemistry between them is strong… full of passion and emotional tension. There were only a few spicy moments, but they were intense and beautiful.

🌿 The pacing and world-building are perfect. The fae world, inspired by Irish myths, is full of twists and turns. I loved how unpredictable the story was… and I can’t wait for the next one!

▪︎FAV QUOTE▪︎

■ Nathan: But there was pressure; soft, warm, heavy weight that Nathan could feel all the way down the left side of his body.
...
He smiled, moving the fingers of his left hand and finding a T-shirt covered back. Sasha was curled into the crook of his arm.
Nathan did his best to pull Sasha in closer with a weak attempt at a one-armed hug. “I never should have let you leave…”
That too-red hair came into view as Sasha lifted his head, and Nathan saw beautiful, healed, sparkling blue eyes. Sasha’s face looked perfect too, free of any cuts and completely smooth.
Nathan swallowed deeply, feeling strange, unwelcome tears rising to the surface. “Hey.”
“Hey,” Sasha smiled back. “

💯 I'm so excited to read Changeling. I can't wait!!
😉 Thanks for reading hope this helps you out!

Having just finished Incubus, I think I can say with some certainty that Ms. Meuwissen didn't set out to write a book. She wanted to write a television screenplay. The chapters are even referred to as episodes and every chapter or two completes a mini adventure (as one would expect from an hour long weekly show).

Actually, I can be even more specific. Ms. Meuwissen wanted to write a Supernatural spinoff/fanfiction television show. I don't think I'm the first to point out the obvious similarity to the show and its characters. Nathan would be Dean and Jim would be Sam. (It has been literally years since I sat down and watched a primetime television show, so if I'm catching such a similarity it must be pretty obvious.)

Also like popular, ongoing television programs, the book doesn't wrap up by the end. In fact, between all of the distracting side adventures and the rather heavy focus on the romance, the main plot of saving Nathan from his dark fae bounty was lost. It felt very, very much like watching a show week after week and then finally realising that due to its new-found popularity, the writers, producers, etc have decided to add endless filler to stretch it into another season, and then another and then another, until you no longer even remember where it was originally going anyway.

It was well written. I liked the characters and I liked the plot. I just didn't care for the plotting. The book is way too long, there are too many forays into adventures that go nowhere, and there are a lot of extra bits—Alex and Jim's issues, for example. All of this sets the series up for future books, sure, but it's incredibly frustrating to read. Both because the plot feels diluted, but also because you reach the end knowing almost nothing more than you did when you started, which feels like a distinct waste of time.

I did think the GFY aspect was sweetly done. There was very little 'but I'm not gay' angst and it therefore felt much more like falling in love with a person, instead of an appropriate gender. I liked that a lot.

Now, a lot of people love this book and, being as it feels like a clone of the television show Supernatural, anyone who likes it will probably like the book. If it had been a stand-alone and I didn't feel like I had just spent two days reading for no final payoff I would probably rate it higher than I am. As it is, I'm going with not baaaad, but could have be soooo much better.

edit: Post review discovery: Big World Netwrok (the book's publisher) states that their goal is to provide a "... way to enjoy both fiction and non-fiction in an episodic format, not unlike a television series... "So, while I didn't much care for the format, I have to give the book credit for being true to it and its publisher's aim. (Plus, I feel a little smug about having recognised it.)

Of course, it goes on to say, "Unlike a traditional novel with a clear endpoint, series on BWN continue for as long as their readers want more and new seasons are renewed. The average series episode is between 4-10 pages..." Which to mean me means, without end and no hope for a satisfying conclusion. Again, much like almost every TV series I've ever become invested enough to try and watch regularly. I'm fairly sure I've never actually made it to a final season, final show ENDING. Part of why I stopped bothering.

This ,book kept me Flipping the Pages constantly..Until ,I felt the end was early....I really can't wait any further For the second in the series..My try was worth reading the book ...Such a great scene description had blown me off ,The changeling , fae business ...The words and the fight Nathan puts up for the life ,to stand on the Promise to his mother . I really appreciate Amanda ...For such a huge portray....Much naturalism was visible even though it's a Fictitious work .For ,Who loves Fantasy will really enjoy this book. I really don't believe This is the only second Book from this author...Little drops but were exciting ..
I highly recommend this book...The very much attracted lines ....

"On the other side of the Veil, dark and light fae exist outside the knowledge of most humans."

I offer a trade for the return of my brother.”
“Do you now?” said the Messenger. “We have been waiting years for James Grier to join the court. What could you
possibly offer that would be worth more than a changeling?”
That word—changeling—made Nathan cringe, but he spoke

I downloaded this book a couple of days ago when it was free on amazon. I thought the blurb sounded good and that I could use it for my shelf-a-thon challenge so I started to read and I really liked it. There were so many things going on that you sort of just fell into the story and wanted to know what would happen. I really disliked Nate in the beginning I thought he was soo prejudiced but then he sort of just changed. I'm looking forward to the next book because there are still to many things that needs to be taken care of.

I absolutely couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. Although it takes a few chapters to find its feet, the author has managed to create believable characters that I empathised with, and I absolutely loved the dynamics between the trio; and Walter was a great addition to the team, too.
I love the relationship that gradually grows between Nathan and Sasha, and it's great to see how Nathan confronts his own prejudices to accept Sasha, and how he fights every time for the benefit of his brother, Jim.
I absolutely can't wait for the next book of the series!

Why didn't I know about this series before??? OMGG!! I LOVED IT!! Everything about it was great! What I most loved about it was that it reminds me of Supernatural, only this time Dean and Castiel actually get together LOL. This book is just wow, I couldn't put it down and when it was over I had to start with the second right away. If you like paranormal books, you just HAVE to read this one!

Very interesting take on the idea of a changeling and the rest of the world of fae. There were a few spots that bothered me -- a few words that were so close but missed it by that much, Chief -- but overall a good "running away from danger while trying to figure out the answer to the mystery" story. We still don't have the answer to the mystery, so I'm sure I'll eventually read the rest of the trilogy, but I don't think it's going to be high on Mount TBR for a little while. Oh yeah, for having an incubus as the title character, things don't heat up until freaking 86% into the book -- way to string me along!

Very enjoyable. A different take on the nature of an incubus, and I liked the characterization that the author gave to Sasha. Not a superhero in spite of his capabilities, but "just a guy" trying to do his best. Nathan and Jim are a "Sam and Dean" pair, and the supporting cast and world building all combine to make this a Good Read. On to the next volume!

Some of the interactions involving lady characters, was a bit condescending. Which was surprising. Being that the author is of the same ... I think! Yet I am interested in changeling storyline. Might read the next two in the series. Put it on the back burner.

I really enjoyed Nathan and Sasha. Jim fascinates me. I love the brothers connection, and protectiveness. I have no choice, I have to know how things end for Jim.
The story is not a cliff hanger. It ends well, but the main arch of the story continues on.
I need to know how it ends. I will be continuing on.

I enjoyed this so much! Sasha and Nathan are so cute!
Seriously, I loved Sasha. He's so fun and such a tease and he has bright read hair! (Not just on his head *wink wink*) I would love to get a full picture of his Incubus form - it sounds epic.

The story is good, building up the mystery of who is behind Nathan's bounty. Alas, it was a cliffhanger, so there is still much to learn! And I look forward to seeing how Nathan gets out of this predicament, how him and Sash will be together, and how Jim would fare at the end of this mess.

The emotion was well done in regard to relationships. Like, seriously, you can tell how much the Grier brother's care for each other. And then down the road that stretches to encompass Sasha. Sasha and Nathan balanced each other very well in their romance <3

I definitely recommend this if you want a story with fae, demons, magic, action, and awesome relationships. Also, this is my first M/M novel about an Incubus because I'm always skeptical about there being an actually good story around the sex demon (instead of just sex), so I was so happy to get a story in this one! And a fun and loving Incubus.

One of my FAVORITE book series of the YEAR! OMG OMG OMFG! This review is for all three books but I will not give out spoilers, don't worry!

Okay so, first of all , where my supernatural fans at? Can I just say, this pays some really great homage to that wonderful show. I'm not saying that there were things sprinkled in there that could possibly be supernatural references because I am not the author and can't say those things, but.... (I am totally saying that If there were then I totally caught them and they were fantastic! Sneaky Amanda Meuwissen, you). So yeah, anyway.. This was totally reminiscent of the supernatural world only with Fey instead of demons. The brotherly love and sacrifice struggle was still there though, and so real.

Alright, lets talk about Nathan, or as I like to call him, "you fantastic, naive, poor, (dean-like but younger and in love), awesome, conceited, funny, closeted for a bit, hottie, you". He gave me these mixed emotions all the time. I mean, half the time I loved him, the other half I wanted to punch him in the face, but then at the same time I wanted him to have more really hot sexy moments with a certain someone.. *cough cough* Anyways, Nathan's character did a lot of things to me. In fact, I have comprised a list.
List of some of the things Nathan did to me:
-made me laugh
-made me cry
-made me frustrated so I had no choice but to yell at my roommate about it
-made me enroll my girlfriend into reading it because I had these FEELINGS and I didn't know how to HANDLE them
-forced me to get yelled at by my girlfriend about how frustrated and in love she was and how she had these FEELINGS and now we BOTH had to deal with them...
So yeah, Nathan was a really great and I will love his stupid ass forever.

Moving on, Sasha. Oh. My. Goodness. Sasha. As much as I love Nathan, Sasha was THE BEST! Omg he really had to be in order to deal with Nathan and his crazy baggage. He was so entirely lovable and endearing and patient and not AT ALL what I expected his character to be! I mean, in my experience, usually when the main character has to go get help from a bounty hunter, said bounty hunter usually fits a certain strong, tough, stereotype. Not that I have a problem with said stereotypical bounty hunter, but I am SO happy that Sasha did not fit this bill at all! Once you know his backstory it all makes sense but my goodness he is the most precious while simultaneous bad ass person ever!

Now for Jim, I loved him. He was such a great brother. He goes through so much throughout the series I don't even know what to say and I don't want to give any spoiler's so I won't say much, but he was awesome!

Now for the world building and plot. The world building was fantastic! They sprinkled in the information throughout so it didn't seem like too much at one time and they still left a bit of mystery that you uncover throughout the books. The plot was original and unique. Even though this book reminded me of supernatural a bit and it seems like it would follow a certain story line based on the synopsis, it really was unpredictable and not at all what I expected. I really thought I knew what was going to happen at certain points, but then Amanda would catch me off guard and go the other way. It made for an exciting read that kept me (and my girlfriend) on the edge of my seat. It was truly a roller coaster, but a really fun one! There were ups and downs and twists and hot sexy times (incubus, hello) and it was all around amazing!

So, if you want my humble opinion, yeah, it was pretty much epically awesome. I really did not want this book to end.. and it was 3 books! GO READ IT AND HELP ME (and my girlfriend) WITH ALL MY FEELINGS!

Ms. Meuwissen has created a colorful yet dark world where there's a constant battle waging amongst the dark and light Fae for the soul of Jim Grier, whose birth and growing powers promises to unleash evil on all of humanity. Nathan Grier sees him as only his brother, not the dangerous changeling others see him as, and will do anything to keep him from going completely dark. Recently Nathan had to wager his soul in an effort to bring Jim home after he was kidnapped by the dark Fae who want to accelerate his Awakening. Time is now running out to kill the Master who holds the deed to Nathan's soul as demented nightmares eat away at him and before he's driven to madness. Their only hope is the sexy Sasha who has plenty of secrets of his own and a growing attraction to Nathan who's equally drawn to him. While they battle their attraction they're on a road trip looking for a way to save Nathan's soul, all the while trying to keep Jim's growing powers under control. This is a fast-paced story with lots of action and life and death circumstances. The story starts off with a heart-pounding encounter and continues at a breakneck pace to culminate in a battle to the death where lots of blood, sweat, and tears are shed. Though the conclusion is uplifting with an unconventional family being formed this is by no means the end of the story. Jim is getting stronger and he fears what he might become. Nathan loves him unconditionally and has faith that he'll stay on the side of good and with his burgeoning relationship with Sasha there's someone else to help keep Jim one of the good guys.

Nathan and Jim have been on their own, running for their lives, since they were young. They have very few friends and no family beyond each other. It's a sad and lonely existence which is why Nathan is so desperate to save Jim. He doesn't want to be alone. Jim senses time's running out but doesn't want to disappoint Nathan's belief in him so is trying hard to keep in control. They're loyal to each other and seeing their occasional playfulness amidst danger is heartwarming to see as they deserve to remain steadfast brothers. Sasha too knows the loss of family and friends. He's an incubus who chose to become a hunter after his father was killed. It's made him a pariah amongst his own kind as well as being seen as a danger towards humans. I found him utterly delightful and sexy! He's flirty by nature and desperately wants to belong to just one person. Upon meeting Nathan he senses a connection and slowly, but not so subtly, tries to woo him even though Nathan has a hatred towards dark Fae after what they've done to Jim. Sasha and Nathan's interactions are full of sexual tension and it's a slow journey, with a near death experience along the way, before they finally admit their feelings in an immensely satisfying interlude.

Numerous otherworldly creatures inhabit the world Ms. Meuwissen has created and each one is distinctive with their own abilities that put our trio in danger. The overall mythos of these creatures enriched the story and made it more vivid and easier to become fully immersed in. The groundwork laid here is exciting in its blend of action and romance. The worldbuilding is unique and richly woven and adds a layer of darkness to an already dark story. The characters of Nathan, Jim, Sasha, and their few allies add color and light and had me rooting for the good guys to win. I'm completely invested in their happiness and greatly anticipate the next installment of this series and recommend it wholeheartedly to those looking for a unique and enthralling paranormal story.

First thing I have to say is that I absolutely LOVE this book....

Second thing I have to say is that this is my first review which will be short and sweet because I personally have nothing bad to say about it except I wish there were 10 more books to come. Sadly there is not...

I never review or comment on books or basically anything unless I really feel the need to. This book made me want to take the time to write a review.
It is everything I personally love jammed into 372 pages.

Fantasy / Supernatural / Passion / Love / M/M / Fun / Funny / Bad Ass / All coming at you at the same time. I have to say that this was the quickest I have read a book and could not take my eyes off it. It kept me at the edge of my seat and wanting more page after page.

One of my favorite shows is Supernatural and the relationship in both Incubus and Supernatural that the brothers share is amazing. The sarcasm, behavior towards girls/guys, always looking out for one another, funny, and willing to do whatever it takes to save each other is everything to hook people in. I find the book definitely very similar to Supernatural in many ways.

Nathan and Sashas relationship is AMAZING!The book is fantasy but the actual relationship they share in terms of everything that makes it human can definitely happen and does happen a lot. In the first book I was so into reading each and every time when they started getting sexual with one another. As they got more and more into it Amanda would throw in some interruption and it stopped the rising emotions you got while they were in the midst of something special. At first my mind would scream "DAMN IT!" but as the book went on it just got better and better when the sweet climax boiled down to them finally fulfilling each others desires. Nathan is in denial so much in this book about being attracted to a guy and this too happens so much with guys and girls now a days thinking that being attracted to the same sex = abnormal and wrong. The book keeps chipping away at Nathans Alpha male ego and he eventually breaks down each time and lets Sasha do whatever he pleases. Inevitably fully realizing hes beginning to love Sasha and wants to spend each waking moment with him. Did I say that this book is AMAZING yet?

Nathans brother Jim is definitely throughout the entirety of the book however the main story line follows Nathan and Sashas ever growing relationship. I love how Jim himself is a mystery and leads you to wonder when everything for him will reach the climactic pivot point as well and whether or not Jim himself is destined to be a Dark or Light Fae.

The antagonist to the twin brothers is a very interesting character as well and played a large role in how the boys grew up and how they are in the later years of their lives. Gabriel has been hunting them ever since the day the twins parents died and the twins always manage a narrow escape.

I could go on and on about the book but am starting to want to stop writing a review and continue reading the next book in the series. Speaking of which I cannot wait until the third book is published....

Being that Cassandra Clares- Mortal Instruments series is my all time favorite series as far as the genre is concerned, Incubus made me from the moment I started reading it make me reconsider what my top all time favorite series was.

PLEASE read this book.... you will love it....

This rather long M/M urban fantasy novel is the first -and currently only- instalment in a series of three.

The author takes heaps of Irish folklore, mixes a little demonology into it and creates a world which is imaginative and rich. Her degree in creative writing is apparent as the plot is well thought of and writing fluid, the random typo or name switch or mistake more than pardonable in such a long book from a self-published author.

As another reviewer (one apparently not belonging to the vocal fan-club) has rightly pointed out this story is certainly good but not mind blowing.
- Pace is slow and rhythm falters here and there. I never experienced the famous "can't-put-this-book-down" feeling.
- The confrontations with the Muses and with Gabriel are far from watertight: the three leads may lack the training of their counterparts but the way they fight (or actually fail to fight) is outright silly and really does not suit people who have been supposedly fighting for their lives since they were children.
The confrontations are only won in the end because one of them discovers a new power...
- Nathan is a difficult, multi-faceted character, frail and strong at the same time. In my opinion the author fails to consistently convey his inner turmoils and he often behaves more like a spoiled brat than like the vulnerable young man he is supposed to be. Particularly clumsy, unfortunately, is the treatment of his developing attraction for Sasha.

I might be willing to give the next episode a try but only if I can get it as a freebie.

Wonderful...

This is the first ever "gay paranormal romance" novel that I have had the pleasure to read. Truthfully, I wasn't even aware that the genre existed. Having given up on the the genre years ago, due to finding myself more depressed than fulfilled from the wonderful happy endings the "straight" characters received, I am pleased to find out I can enjoy them once again.

Despite the unlikelihood of a (up to this point) straight man suddenly discovering feelings for another man this story is beautiful. The author has perfectly captured the emotional struggles of her fully realized characters, and written a paranormal novel full of suspense and adventure. This fae "universe" is exceptionally detailed; not once is the reader introduced to some random off handed factoid without it being described in full, and interesting, detail. With most books, you are sometimes left with a nagging wonder as to what exactly the author meant by something; that is NOT the case with this story.

Many relationships are revealed, each deep and very emotional. The immense love between these fate cursed brothers, the intense relationships that each find themselves struggling with, and the limitless friendships each find in the few they hold close. There isn't one character within these pages that you can't believe in, finding aspects within them you can easily recognize.

I cannot wait to read the next installment in what I already know will be a series that I will thoroughly enjoy. This author is truly talented, and I appreciate her work.
