ஸ்டாலின் ஒரு கொடுங்கோல் ஆட்சியாளர் என்றும் ஹிட்லருக்கு கிட்டத்தட்ட இணையானவர் என்றும் தான் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன். ஆனால் ஜார் ஆட்சியை எதிர்த்து லெனினுடன் தோளுக்கு தோளாய் நின்று போராடியவர் எப்படி கொடுங்கோல் ஆட்சி நடத்தியிருப்பார் என்ற சந்தேகம் இருந்து கொண்டே இருந்தது. அதனை தீர்க்க முனைகிறது இந்தப் புத்தகம். ஸ்டாலின் மீது வைக்கப்படும் விமர்சனங்களை இன்னும் விரிவாக ஆராய்ந்து அதற்கு பதில் தந்திருக்கலாம்.

i love reading marudhan's writing after reading the Idi Ameen book. His narration is simple flow, interesting to read. Gives insight about "left thought"perspective about the leaders he wrote. In this book, he takes us along with stalin's life time. definitely it will be interesting narration and gives a high level picture ( a starting point , if you want to read all other personalities like, Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin daughter, Stalin role in second world war ending, handling hitler and imperialistic countries at the same time, Russian civil involvement in second world war...

with this book we get a short rollercoaster ride in to Stalin's life with fascinating penmanship of marudhan.
would have loved more if this book had discussed the dark side of stalin too.
