Alison Tyler is an American author, editor and publisher of erotica, living in Northern California. She has authored over 20 explicit novels, hundreds of short stories and has edited more than 30 erotic anthologies.
This story was only 25 pages but it was an excellent 25 pages. The characters were developed, the chemistry was hot and it was interesting all the way through with a full plot. It encompassed everything that a story needed to develop feelings for the characters. Hadley is a Domme, but lately she has been feeling a submissiveness that she doesn't think that any man besides "Lover" would be able to bring out of her until she sees Reed Frost a gymnast's trainer. When they meet, there is that instant attraction and Hadley knew that Reed had what it took to tame her. They had chemistry, banter and substance. I really liked how the story drew me in from the beginning.
Good, quick read where everyone gets a happy ending. Sometimes what you want isn't always what you need. The characters in this story were involved in a messy love triangle where all three of them ultimately discover what they actually need.
It's no secret, I love Alison Tyler. She hasn't done anything in her writings to make me think differently. Her latest piece sucked me in immediately. Her main character, Hadley, is someone you can fall in love with no matter your preference in lifestyle (I detest that word, but I'll use it anyway). A former domme gone sub seeks out a new interest while her sub ex-lover still pines after her.
Ms. Tyler's writing reminds me of something Roger Ebert once said about films – "No good movie is too long and no bad movie is short enough." – because her writing always leaves me wanting more.
Thought this was a great quick read. I really liked Hadley. Wished this book was a bit longer though so you could get into the characters more but all up it was still a great read.
This story is just generally poorly written and is trying way too hard to prove that Tyler has BDSM street cred, which she is severely lacking in. The situations had potential, but the scenes were so short and lacked quality details and descriptions that it impossible to get into it.
