Odd Thomas Series 4-Book Bundle: Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, Brother Odd, Odd Hours

Rate this book
His life unfolds with adventure, humor, and roller-coaster suspense. He's the "most likable creation" ("The New York Times") of "one of the master storytellers of this or any age" ("The Tampa Tribune"). And he's got one hell of a hidden talent. If you don't know his name by now, you're the odd one out. Now get all caught up with the first four novels of Dean Koontz's beloved series--"Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, Brother Odd, "and "Odd Hours"--in an eBook bundle that will keep you up all night.
ODD THOMAS
"The dead don't talk. I don't know why. "But they do try to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small desert town serving as their reluctant confidant. Meet Odd Thomas, the unassuming young hero of Dean Koontz's dazzling "New York Times "bestsellers, a gallant sentinel at the crossroads of life and death. Sometimes the silent souls who seek out Odd want justice. Occasionally their otherworldly tips help him prevent a crime. But this time it's different. A stranger comes to Pico Mundo, accompanied by a horde of hyena-like shades who herald an imminent catastrophe. Aided by his soul mate, Stormy Llewellyn, and an unlikely community of allies that includes the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Odd will race against time to thwart the gathering evil, as past and present, fate and destiny, converge.
FOREVER ODD
"I see dead people. But then, by God, I "do" something about it." Odd Thomas never asked for his special ability. Yet he feels an obligation to do right by his otherworldly confidants, and that's why he's won hearts on both sides of the divide between life and death. But when a childhood friend disappears, Odd discovers something worse than a dead body and embarks on a heart-stopping battle of will and wits with an enemy of exceptional cunning. In the hours to come there can be no innocent bystanders, and every sacrifice can tip the balance between despair and hope.
BROTHER ODD
"Loop me in, odd one. "The words, spoken in the deep of night by a sleeping child, chill the young man watching over her. For this was a favorite phrase of Stormy Llewellyn, his lost love. In the haunted halls of the isolated monastery where he had sought peace, Odd Thomas is stalking spirits of an infinitely darker nature. Now, wielding all the power and magic of a master storyteller at the pinnacle of his craft, Dean Koontz follows Odd into a singular new world where he hopes to make a fresh beginning--but where he will meet an adversary as old and inexorable as time itself.
ODD HOURS
Only a handful of fictional characters are recognized by first name alone. Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas is one such literary hero, who has come alive in readers' imaginations as he explores the greatest mysteries of this world and the next with his inimitable wit, heart, and quiet gallantry. Now Koontz follows Odd as he is drawn onward, to a destiny he cannot imagine. Haunted by dreams of an all-encompassing red tide, Odd is pulled inexorably to the sea, to a small California coastal town where nothing is as it seems.
Contains a preview of the next thrilling addition to the Odd Thomas series, "Odd Apocalypse"!

The books that guaranteed Koontz’s place as my favourite author.

The Odd Thomas series is truly wonderful. It is filled with all of Koontz’s trademarks. The wonderful characters. The gripping storyline. The heartbreak. The wit. The philosophy. Everything you love about Koontz is brought together in this wonderful series as we follow Odd Thomas on his rather peculiar journey through life.

Whether you’re a Koontz fan or simply a fan of the supernatural, I suggest you give these books a read.

Odd Thomas is my FAV Dean Koontz series! Contrary to some reviews I thought they are very well paced. I don't read many books because they've gotta have action from 1st/2nd Chapter til the last chapter or I lose interest. Koontz is one of a few that I can read no problem. Nobody is perfect tho, so that's why I give it only 4 stars. Also, I did think Odd Hours was a little weak in spots. Nothing too serious or he wouldn't still be my FAV!! On another note, Good Reads really needs to add Odd Apocalypse to the series. It's been out for couple months now. That makes this a 5 Book series not a 4 Book. It's up next on my list.

One of my most favourite character, Odd Thomas, the odd one. I love how the supernatural concept works so well with all the books. And definitely, it is because of Odd Thomas' sense of humour. One of the few books that can make me giggle while reading. Odd Thomas is not the normal superhero. The way he saves people through his power, intuition and quick-thinking, is definitely got me hooked to the books. A thrilling, suspenseful, scary-at-times and definitely enjoyable read.

In the bookstore I had to ask why they didn't have any Dean Koontz---they said to look in horror. But I don't read horror! OK, the Odd Thomas series is big on funny and light on horror--he and Elvis pal around a lot. A couple of the books don't have real endings---they kind of run together.

4.5 stars actually. This is my 2nd go around for Odd Thomas so I pretty much knew what to expect, even though my basic memory about books I've read is poor. But Odd Thomas is a pretty intriguing character so I've enjoyed the series.

They put you right in the life of Odd. This young man has learned from life's hard knocks, and can still leave to others.

The Books:
1. Odd Thomas
2. Forever Odd
3. Brother Odd
4. Odd Hours
5. Odd Apocalypse

Up for some supernatural fun without the vampires and witches? These books are fast paced thrillers with a main character named Odd Thomas. Yes, that is his name. He is a fry-cook from Pico Mundo, a very unassuming guy and he not only communicates with the dead, he can see them. Somehow, this seems to get him into trouble. The dead have unfinished business that only he can help with. Elvis makes an appearance (he really is dead), among other ghost celebrities. Odd’s big problem is to save the lives of others without taking lives. He is a very kind hearted person. This inner struggle continues throughout the entire series. Although, like most Koontz books, they are dark and violent, but there is a nice sense of humor in them with the theme of good triumphing over evil. I also love a book where the bad guy dies in some gruesome way.

There is news that the first book will be made into a movie in 2013! Production is completed with Anton Yelchin is to play Odd, and Addison Timlin to play Stormy. It should be interesting to see if the movie is as good as the book! Source: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1767354/

I loved all of these books. Odd Thomas is a fascinating character, and I found myself having a hard time setting the books down. Had to rush out and buy the next one before I finished the one I was reading. That was before the Kindle fire...lol. I would highly recommend this series, even if you're not a fan of Dean Koontz, these are somewhat different for him.

The Odd Thomas series moves about at a very slow pace. It was an okay series. I like reading books that move at a quicker pace. This series is about Odd Thomas, a young man that sees ghost. He also solves unsolved crimes that occurred against the ghost.

On the edge of ur seat for about half the book, and 'interesting' pictures it puts in ur head. If it ever was a movie I wouldn't watch it for all the horror type scenes in it. But an overall ok read. I finished it, so that counts for something. Lol

I really liked Odd, until I didn’t. By the end of the series he’s become a bit of a crazed conspiracy theorist with a gun. Lost his charm for me.
