Star is a familiar, a cat shifter able to help witches summon demons--"after" she's been thoroughly satisfied sexually. Usually an assistant helps her reach the state of arousal necessary to work the spells...until sexy sorcerer T.J. proposes to pleasure her himself.Star doesn't think T.J. can make love to her while staying emotionally detached enough to get the job done, but his promise of a hefty payment--and his own potent sensuality--is too tempting to resist. Soon, they're getting down to business--and Star is having the best sex of her nine lives. But once their arrangement is over, will she lose T.J. forever?
Michele has been writing romance, action-adventure and fantasy stories for over twenty years. Her first published novel was DARK RAPTURE.
France, musketeers, vampires and faeries populate her stories. And if she followed the adage 'write what you know', all her stories would have snow in them. Fortunately, she steps beyond her comfort zone and writes about countries she has never visited and of creatures she has never seen.
Michele also writes as Michele Renae, and you can find her erotica, chick lit, and Harlequin Romance titles at your favorite online retailer.
Synopsis: Throughly Jones (T.J.) is a witch who practices dark magic and is desperate to rescue his brother from Daemonia. He needs to circumvent the usual methods to conduct demons because he's after a big catch. But will cat-shifting familiar, Star, agree to cut out the middle man and work exclusively with T.J.? That would involve them having sex to conduct a demon. But she wants a real relationship, without 'work sex' getting in the way. Can the two share the most intimate of connections to get the rescue job done, or will love toss a kink into their plans?
Our Review [By LITERAL ADDICTION’s Pack Alpha-Michelle L Olson]: Another knock out hit by the FABULOUS Ms Hauf! I have only one negative comment about this book…it was too short!! :-)
From the very first paragraph, the book captures your interest with its vivid detailing and witty prose. After the first chapter you’re invested and can’t wait to see what happens next. After the first half you’re squealing with glee because it’s so good. Upon the final sentence you sigh happily yet seethe internally that there isn’t more to be read.
In true Michele Hauf fashion, This Glamorous Evil is a dark, delicious, wickedly sexy read with action, intrigue and a final voice like no one else can deliver.
LITERAL ADDICTION Paranormal Book Club gives This Glamorous Evil 5 Skulls (we’d give more if we could), and would HIGHLY recommend it to Paranormal Romance fans far and wide!
I’ve only read a few of Michele Hauf’s books, but I am fast becoming a fan. Her stories make me laugh and squee, sometimes all at once! I especially enjoy her witty characters and world building. Even though this is only a novella, Hauf still manages to skillfully get in enough world building information to make it feel real and satisfying.
This Glamorous Evil is a fun, sweet and sexy romp. Our hero, Throughly Jones (for some reason I find this name extremely sexy) is a witch (I find this very sexy too, just saying…) who might have bitten off more than he can chew when he abducts a cat shifting familiar, Star, to summon a demon. Star is such a fun character! I like how she still has some of her kitty behaviors when in human form . There is also some evil demon action and lots of sex. The only knock I have is we don’t get to experience these two characters falling in love over a period of time. Since this is a novella, the romance happens almost instantly. But that's just the nature of the beast .
Let’s talk novellas for a moment. I love novellas! I can read them in one sitting (as a mom, this is important) and I still get a full story with all the character development I love. When I get bogged down with a full length novel or I have too many of the same genre in a row to read I can grab a novella and cleanse my literary palate, so to speak. Novellas are my literary sorbet. They are also the best way to try new authors.
