Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.

She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.

Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.

She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.

I was sent this book by the author for my honest review. I had a hard time getting into this book. I usually love all of Lori Wilde's books but for me this book wouldn't hold my interest. It is a friends to lover story and I did love the ending. Maybe it is because I find archeology boring and I had problems getting thru the book this time.

Somebody to Love by Lori Wilde
Walter McCleary has gotten his book about the town of Cupid, TX on the bestseller list and now there is talk of making a movie.
Zoey and her sister Natalie were raised by other relatives in town when their parents had died. Now that Zoey is 24 the woman talk of everything she's ever done growing up and just know that taking care of a cat is something she will also lose interest in.
Her best friend Jericho part Indian has just broken up with his latest and they are best of friends again but is there more romance there that they don't see yet?
Love the chatter of the town and the letter writing to Cupid and how the volunteers handle the letters.
Jericho Chance is back in town applying for a position to do with archeology. Zoey has also studied that and will have to go to a larger school to continue her studies...
He does get the job to lead the field study but there are stipulations.
Walter was going to let her have the money from her trust for the field study, if she didn't stick with it he'd give all her money to charity.
Now that they have kissed will they be able to live with the stipulations his job puts on them...
Loved learning all about the career/work in this one - so detailed.
Loved all the mystery and action on the actual dig and the findings, how meticulous they are in cleaning of the artifacts.
Excerpt from another book by the author is at the end.
I received this book from the publisher via the author in exchange for my honest review.

Very good book. Jericho has returned to Cupid to apply for his dream job at a local university. He ran into some trouble during his last job and he needs this one to help repair his reputation. He's happy to see his best friend Zoe, but something has changed in the way he looks at her. Zoe has always been a free spirit, bouncing from thing to thing and man to man, and Jericho has been the one constant in her life. Her feelings for him have been changing, but she's not sure she wants to risk their friendship.

I loved both Zoe and Jericho. Zoe is the youngest in the extended family and ever since her parents' deaths when she was little has been a bit spoiled. She is known for not sticking to anything because if she doesn't like it, she quits and moves on rather than waste time on something that doesn't fit. But she gets a hard time from her family members, who consider her flaky and immature. There's a scene where she overhears people talking about her and even her sister is negative about her. I felt so bad for her because it really hurt her to hear what they said. She has finally settled on what she wants to do, but no one seems to believe she'll stick to it. Even the relative in control of her trust fund has told her that if she quits this time, he's cutting her off from her funds completely. She's determined to show everyone that she has changed.

Jericho is back in town hoping to land a job at the local university. He needs this job to help repair his reputation after some problems at the last one. He's looking forward to spending time with his best friend Zoe again. They've stayed in touch, but emails and phone calls aren't the same. He doesn't expect to take one look at her and see her as much more than his longtime buddy. He'd like nothing more than to pursue these new feelings, but with her as one of his students on a local dig, he has to keep some distance between them. That proves to be impossible, and suddenly he's risking his job, and Zoe her trust fund.

I loved the interactions between Zoe and Jericho. Jericho is a pretty serious and sober guy, but being around Zoe lightens him up a lot. He never seems to have trouble following her thought processes and he really understands her. He can get frustrated at her impulsiveness, but he gets what she's doing when it happens. He's falling hard for her, but he's also running a bit scared. He's afraid that he won't be enough to keep her from flitting away again. While Zoe brings fun to Jericho, he brings a steadiness to her. Knowing that he's always there gives her a sense of security that she doesn't feel with anyone else. Her feelings for him have been changing for some time, but she thinks that she doesn't have the ability to settle down. The deep friendship that they've always had is a great foundation for their feelings, but the chemistry between them has them both feeling out of control. Both of them have to face their fears before they can find their future together.

The other big thing that is going on is the archaeological dig that Jericho is in charge of. The land is part of a nature preserve that Zoe's family owns, and where some of Jericho's ancestors used to live. When artifacts are found that show that a legend may in fact be truth, things start to get a little weird around the site. Strange things start to happen, and one of the artifacts disappears. Zoe's propensity for solving puzzles and finding trouble has her suspecting that there's a secret in her family that's about to be exposed. I really enjoyed the buildup of this storyline, from the recounting of the legend by Jercho's great-grandmother to the final showdown. I especially loved the bits of Native American culture and information on dig procedures that were woven in.

This is my first book by Lori Wilde, and I definitely want to get to know the other cowboys from Cupid as well. As a fan of the friends-to-lovers trope, I enjoyed every step of Zoe and Jericho's path to a happily-ever-after -- from Zoe's frightful realization of having fallen in love with her best friend, to Jericho's determination to keep Zoe in her rightful place by his side, every scene was fun and interesting to read.

The plot is as it is in the blurb, but the magic is in reuniting two friends who've known each other since childhood and forcing them both to confront feelings they never before had. For Zoe, that was to admit her feelings for Jericho, for she did not want to ruin her friendship if she confessed. For Jericho, that was to come to the realization that his vagabond life (more spiritually so) held little meaning without someone to go back to, someone special in his life. To say it was humorous when both tried valiantly to deny their feelings for each other is an understatement, but even through the humor one can see the obvious frustration and indecision regarding this matter - Should they ignore their body language and natural affinity and remain just friends? Or might this be a good time to take their relationship to the next level?

Character-wise, I liked both Zoe and Jericho. Jericho I liked more since he has the rugged exterior of a cowboy with the intellect of a professor. That combination is frankly, quite attractive, and I enjoyed more to see him in his relaxed state around Zoe. Zoe was interesting -- a little quirky and at times awkward, but she has a warm heart and charming demeanor so it's quite impossible to not like her. Apart, these two are people most would probably like to befriend, but together, they are a couple made for each other, complimenting soft with hard, decisive with reflective, and so much more.

As someone who reads little contemporary romance, this book has certainly made me want to get into the genre, starting with the other books in Lori Wilde's Cupid Texas series!

Somebody to Love by Lori Wilde is a December 2013 Avon publishing release. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Edelweiss and Lori's Review Crew in exchange for an honest review.

Cupid is town steeped in romantic legends. Zoey and Jericho have grown up together. Jericho is a few years old than Zoey, making it easy to maintain a platonic friendship all these years. However, the two had a moment when the scales might have tipped in the other direction. They righted themselves and went on as though nothing had happened. Being apart geographically helped them in that regard. Now, Jericho is back hoping for a job at the university to lead an archeology dig. It just so happens Zoey has also acquired an interest in archeology. Zoey doesn't stick with things too long though and no one takes her seriously. To prove herself she makes a deal. She will stick to the job or else lose her trust fund.
The hardest thing for Zoey is that Jericho can't become involved with one of his students or he will lose his job. This means they have to stay apart through the entire job. They've managed that their entire lives, but now.....

This is a sweet friendship to romance contemporary romance. The local legend of Cupid that makes the place so charming isn't the only legend. There is a much darker legend no one talks about. Zoey and Jericho are linked to that legend through their lineage. A Romeo and Juliet type story that has Zoey worried about their chances a couple.
Often flighty, Zoey learns that she can stick to something when she needs to and wants to, despite what others may think of her. Jericho compliments Zoey's personality by being more stable and serious. They two of them will uncover another secret while on their dig that is a secret someone may be willing to kill for.
Mostly, though the story is very light hearted and steeped in history. The Cupid series is a lot of fun. If you enjoy light contemporary romance, don't miss this one!

I will never begin to understand these flighty annoying female leads. Jericho was a great, well-rounded character. Zoey? She was insufferable. I understand that her character was meant to be flighty but it was overdone and she came off as more annoying than not. Four weeks, they had to wait four weeks to do the do and she couldn't handle that, even though his job and her trust was at stake. I get it, sex between friends is awesome. Yes it's a book so there's meant to be that tension but this wasn't warranted or believable. She was not relatable in the sense that four weeks was like utter murder to wait even though the consequences were severe. She came off as pushy and just an ingrate. I adored Jericho, he was sweet and thoughtful and tried hard... but Zoey was probably what killed the entire book for me. I will never understand writing such dense, unlikable female leads while making the male so much more than a chest-banging alpha. You clearly have the talent to conjure up great characters, shed a little bit of that love on the females so they're not so intolerable.

I will add that the Keepers of the Flame was an interesting insert and kept me reading to find out what happened to Little Wolf and Clarissa. While completely far-fetched and a bit dramatic it was an interesting idea and other than Jericho was probably all that kept me until the end. I do hope reading Lace's or Natalie's story won't leave me wanting to purge my brain by fire of any remnant of their poorly written personality and/or character like Zoey has.

When Jericho Chance finds his best friend Zoey under the hood of her van, he's not feeling those feelings of their long friendship, but he is hit with pangs of passion he now knows that he can't hide any longer. He must tell her how he feels, but Zoey is battling her own feelings of passion and love for her BFF and wants to have a life that she has been dreaming of, only she just realizes what she wants.
Now when they have brought this passion for one another into the open, road blocks go up all over the place. Jericho has been given the chance to redeem himself in the academic world and Zoey, if she can commit to four weeks on a dig, with Jericho as the head of the dig, then all will come together. But with Zoey the road is never smooth, will they come together, can they move those road blocks and have the life together. With all these road blocks in their way, their passion and longing for each other just wins out.
Lori Wilde has written another wonderful book that embraces, love, friendship passion and long lasting relationships. We take passionate, spontaneous, quirky and dazzling Zoey McCleary and combine her with the more quiet, sexy, Dr. Jericho Chance, who have been friends since forever and you have the makings of a wonderful, funny, romantic, sexy and adventures love story.

Somebody to Love is the third book in Lori Wilde’s Cupid Texas series. It’s a friends to lovers story. Having gotten glimpses of the Zoey McCleary character (Natalie McCleary’s much younger sister) the heroine of this story in the previous two books I was truly looking forward to her story of finding her true love. Perhaps my expectations were too high for while I enjoyed this book, I didn’t love it.

If I’m being totally honest I’m sort of burned out on the whole BFF to lovers trope which is a staple of every romance writer I’ve read catalogue. This saddens me because it was just such a story (a little novella by Maisey Yates) that got me first hooked on modern romance stories a couple of years ago. But the whole, two people who share an incredible physical chemistry and are best friends being afraid to take their relationship to the next level for fear of destroying their friendship has gotten more than a little redundant and the reasoning never really rang true in my mind. In what world do adult men and women not realize that while sexual chemistry is important in a relationship it is friendship that is the glue that holds it together? If you’re already friends once the all-consuming flame of physical passion inevitably cools to embers, the friendship continues to bind you together and keep the embers from going out. Zoe (whom too often in this story sounds like she doesn’t know her own mind) in a brief moment of clarity tells Jericho that she’s felt sexual chemistry with plenty of her ex-lovers but had no desire to take their relationship to something more permanent. But enough editorializing on my part!

This is the story of Zoey, younger sister of Natalie the heroine of the first book in the series and cousin to Lacy the heroine of the second book and Jericho Chance her BFF since she was four years old who is four years her senior. Zoey for those of you who haven’t read the first two books is practically Cupid royalty as she is a McCleary on her father’s side and a Fant-Greenwood on her mother’s side. These two wealthy families pretty much founded and led the town of Cupid. And it is the romantic story of her great grandfather John Fant and great grandmother Millie Greenwood that fuels the legend that drives the tourist economy of the town. Just starting off the idea that a boy and girl four years apart in age could develop and maintain such a deep and abiding friendship for twenty years stretches my believability meter to the limit. Although the age gap does justify why the relationship hadn’t moved beyond friendship for at least the first twelve years or so. Zoey is now approaching her twenty-fourth birthday and taking archaeology courses (her fourth change in majors) at the local junior college. Her buddy Jericho has just returned to Cupid as a newly minted PhD hoping to land a job teaching in the college’s archaeology department. You can see this is a prescription for trouble right away. I had so many issues with this plot that was key to the story right from the outset. It seems Jericho had been a teaching assistant as a grad student at the Univ. of Utah where he received his doctorate. It also seems that the woman Molly he’d been living with for two years needed to pass the course he was teaching to get her degree. Again in what world would any two adults think that it would be ethical or even mildly acceptable for a student to take a course under someone she’d been playing house with for two plus years? Oh and it turns out Molly is boinking the dean of another department and when Jericho finds them in his bed together he slugs said dean. The major part of this plot line is that Zoey decides she wants to take a summer course (a field dig) which will be taught by her BFF Doctor Chance. This would be wrong even if they both weren’t suddenly feeling an irresistible heat between them to get naked together. Given that reality one or both of them should have had the common sense to have Zoey take a pass on this educational opportunity. Now the dean who hires Jericho is aware of what happened in his past and puts a clear, “no fraternizing with your students” clause in the terms of his probationary employment. Even given that does Jericho tell Zoey, that maybe it’s not a good idea that she take this course? No. Knowing that does Zoey decide that it’s not a good idea to endanger her BFF’s fledgling teaching career by taking the class? No. Do they tell the dean that they have been BFFs for twenty years before the course begins just to get it all out on the table? Of course not. Like the two sensible adults apparently neither of them are, they mutually decide that they will put their new found all consuming lust for each other on hold for four weeks (which seemed like twice that long) until the course which will require them to spend long days and nights together is over. And oh yeah, they seem to find plenty of reasons to pair up and leave the dig and the other students behind to do extended research together. Now add to this Zoey is a trust fund baby and even though she’s almost twenty-four her trust fund is still managed by her Uncle Walter. So she has to ask Uncle Walter for the $2,000 to pay for the course. Uncle Walter like the rest of her family sees Zoey as flighty and resisting growing up (as proven by the fact that at 24 she’s changed her college major 4 times and is still working on getting her associates degree) so he tells her he’ll give her the money for the course but if she drops out he’s shutting off her trust fund and giving it away to charity. Now I’ve got two major problems here. Maybe 2.5? First, I don't know when Zoe is supposed to reach the age where she can manage her own trust but I find it hard to believe that Zoey’s late parents would have given her uncle authority to not only temporarily withhold its funds from Zoey but to just plain completely give it away. Oh, and nobody in her family, not her protective, mother hen big sister Natalie nor her aunts raise a stink with Walter about the threat of giving her inheritance away? My second problem with this scenario is that since Zoe lives I assume rent free at her sister’s B&B (of which she seems to have free and regular use of the B&B’s van) and has a trust fund to cover whatever other living expenses she might have, at 23 going on 24 why hasn’t she taken at least a part time job that would have allowed her to cobble together a measly $2,000 rather than having to risk losing her entire trust fund? Other than going through what apparently was quite the long list of lovers, when she’s not in class, what has Zoey been doing in her spare time since she was old enough to at least get part time employment? How do you respect an almost 24 year old woman who seems to do nothing but dabble in getting a college degree and partying?
Now we throw in a sleazy, wealthy distant cousin of Zoey’s who is in charge of the nature preserve that Jericho wants to have his students do their summer archaeology dig at and you have most of the plot and characters.
What I found somewhat refreshing about this story as compared to other friends to lovers stories, was that at least early on Jericho and Zoey admit their changing feelings for one another, rather than hiding them. So while the fear of Jericho losing his job and Zoey losing her trust fund is supposed to serve as a deterrent for them acting on those feelings, at least they openly admit to having them. But even that gets a tad annoying when you have dialogue like Jericho telling Zoey in a very sexually provocative context that she’ll always “come first” and her replying that if he keeps it up she’s going to tear his close off and “do him” right there in the hospital corridor. Are these the actions of two people seriously trying to keep a lid on their sexual attraction out of respect for their current situation? And then there was a sexual incident between Jericho and Zoey that supposedly bordered on Jericho breaking his contract, that left me thinking of former President Clinton claiming “I did not have sex with that woman” because he hadn’t had intercourse with Monica Lewinsky She just gave him oral like that’s not having sex. But I think what most bothered me about this story is between Zoey’s internal monologues and Jericho’s frequent analysis of her personality, I’m never really sure who Zoey is? Is she the slightly flakey, childishly impulsive, attention challenged somewhat spoiled young woman her family believes her to be or is it just that her mind is so sharp that she’s easily bored and her thoughts are constantly two steps ahead of everyone else’s? It seems like even at the end of the story neither Jericho nor Zoey herself is completely sure. And then the glowing praise from her family and friends that OMG Zoey has really grown up because she’s managed to hang in there to complete a 4 or 6 week college course. Wow! Just how flighty is the woman that they’ve set the bar so low for her? Even the final chapter after the McCleary’s dirty family secret is revealed and Zoey and Jericho have sworn their eternal love for one another felt incomplete and left me wanting to know more about how they work out their future together. Does she continue her education requiring her to leave Cupid? Does Jericho accept a full time position at the local college essentially keeping him away from Zoe while she finishes her degree program out of state? As you can tell this book was somewhat of a disappointment to me. Not terrible. Just not as good as I’d hoped it would be..

3.5 very fun stars!
This is a fun and lighthearted friends to lovers story. There was a mystery aspect to it with a heavy dose of archaeology thrown in! I enjoyed the build up between Jericho and Zoey, they have been lifelong friends and Zoey loved Jericho for awhile. Jericho has finally realized he wants Zoey as more than a friend. Reading about them trying to dance around their feelings for each other was entertaining.

This is another heartwarming story from Lori Wilde. She brings you back to Cupid Texas and this time we get to learn so much more about Zoey McCleary. In the past books you see how her family really feels like she needs to grow up but I don't really thing they knew the real Zoey. They took her at face value and never looked deeper. Jericho Chance is the right guys for her. He sees the real Zoey. They are the perfect example of opposites attract. This is the perfect books to curl up with on these cold winter nights.

no one writes a sex scene that makes my skin crawl quite like lori wilde

also very infuriated at the fact that the hero and heroine weren’t able to mind their own business for a couple of weeks, instead breaking every rule placed on them. not romantic, just stupid.

Jericho and Zoe have been best friends since they were children, but when Jericho comes back to town for a job, things start to escalate more than friendship. The last thing that Jericho wishes to do is ruin their friendship, but for quite some time he has been in love with Zoe. Zoe has decided that after having multiple career changes, she has finally decided on being a Archaeologist. However the guardian in charge of her trust fund has told her she can't just quit, she has to see it through. If she does quit, he will cut her off from her funds, believing her to be flighty, and unable to stick with anything. However Zoe is desperate to prove her family wrong, to show them that when she really wants something she can stick with it. When circumstances start to heat up between Zoe and Jericho, a complication comes up. Jericho's new job is the new professor for the job dig, and Zoe is his student. So if they are caught together, Jericho will be fired, and he can't afford it on his record. As they work on the site together, it becomes that much harder to stay apart, and Jericho doesn't know if he will be strong enough to stop from kissing her or making love to her.

Somebody To Love is the third installment in the Cupid Texas Series that is fairly new by Lori Wilde. I recently discovered this author, when I received a review copy of her first two books. The first two books in the series I fell in love with instantly. Somebody To Love however was a bit different, I had a bit of a harder time reading it. It didn't take very long, however I couldn't get fully into the story as I like to when I am reading a romance. I felt a little detached, and I am not sure if its just become I have a harder time liking contemporaries or if it was the actual story. It started out pretty good, I didn't have a difficult time starting up the story, but as it got toward the midway of the story, I felt like it started to drag a bit. But then as I trudged through the story, it picked up again.

There was a few aspects that I enjoyed about Somebody To Love. The first is the sweet love story that is prevalent through the story. I found that it starts off with Zoe and Jericho have no problem to connect, since they grew up together. In the beginning I felt these two were a bit frustrating, not wanting to admit to each other how much they love each other, and want more than friendship. A blind man could see what they are afraid of admitting to each other. Then when they do, their relationship gets put on hold because of Jericho's new job which he can't afford to lose. As the story progressed further, I enjoyed seeing the little twists and turns, and it definitely surprised me. There was a bit of a mystery/suspense aspect in the plot that made it more than just a simple love story. I always enjoy a love story when there is more to it than just that. I love a exciting conflict that gets you at the edge at times. I found the conflict in this story wasn't over done, although you don't really realize the conflict until toward the end and I will warn you it might shock you, but in a delightful way. The characters were fun and engaging, however Zoe I had a small issue with. I loved Jericho, very sensual but protective and I love the way he was toward Zoe, willing to sacrifice everything for her. However I felt Zoe was a bit blah, she didn't really dazzle me in any way, in fact I was a bit disappointed in this heroine. She was very independent, but I thought she was flaky at times, especially in the first half of the story. In the second half I started to enjoy her a bit more, but I didn't fall in love with her.

Overall I found Somebody To Love a lovely addition to the Cupid series by Lori Wilde. I felt like there could have been a bit more in the beginning of the story to really draw in the reader, but other than that I enjoyed Jericho and Zoe's story. There was quite a bit of sensuality, sweet moments, and charming plot to engage you in the story. Not entirely remarkable, but a enjoyable read on a lazy

Sizzling Heat!

**You can read Somebody to Love as a stand alone book an enjoy the story without feeling like you are missing anything. Lori Wilde does a great job making the reader feel right at home in Cupid. You don't NEED to read the other books in the series, but it would probably be a great visit back to Cupid, Texas when you have time.**

Somebody to Love was another sweet addition to the Cupid, Texas series. Jericho and Zoey's story was like reading Indiana Jones if Indiana Jones was a romance novel (and based in Texas). Lori Wilde does a great job of putting characters together that have spark and creating good chemistry (and tension) along with very interesting (and educational) story lines. In Somebody to Love we get to explore archaeology and a bit of Native America legends, along with revisiting some of the delightful characters in Cupid, Texas.

Zoey and Jericho have been friends for twenty years and just when their timing is (finally) right, a series of events happen that really test their control and their stick-with-it-ness. The push and pull of these two was very entertaining to read and even though the plot got a bit far fetched at times, it was a fun trip to take. While this wasn't my favorite book from this series, it still had me entertained and enjoying getting to know Jericho (yum).

Lori Wilde creates a fun, sexy and a bit mysterious story in Somebody to Love; just when you think you have it all figured out there is another twist or revelation that will keep you turning pages. If you are a fan of the Cupid, Texas series you will enjoy the cameos of past characters (Lacy for example) and getting to go back to that quirky town in Texas where you never know what will happen next. I am looking forward to the final installment of this series coming out later in 2014 and would recommend this series if you are looking for an easy, sexy weekend read.

Zoey has never been committed to anything. She always gave up or quit things that never held her interest. She was what people would call a “free bird”. Jericho is her best friend, and someone she has always had constant in her life. He was the one person who was always there for her when she needed hm. When he came back to town it was for good. Zoey was told that she needed to get her life in order. So she decided to continue her education, that also meant being with Jericho as her teacher.
Jericho has always loved Zoey. He always thought of her as a friend, until he came back to town. He was hired as a professor of archeology dig which just happened to be the same dig Zoey committed herself too. He knew that he should not want to see Zoey as more than a friend. But so9mething changed and he became more and more attracted to her. He just hoped he could wait until the dig was over before he followed through on his thoughts.
Throughout this book there was a lot of sexual tension between the characters. It was had a lot of drama and personal history about Jericho and how Zoey and he are actually connected. By the end of the book both Zoey and Jericho was completely surprised on how their ancestors were connected and who was trying to cover it up. They also realized that it shouldn’t matter who knew that they were together just as long as they were together.
I completely fell in love with this book from the very beginning. This book is about how best friends came to fall in love with each other. They didn’t want to run their friendship but knew if they were thrown together they would be together. 8n the end they finally admitted that they couldn’t stay away from each other and not care what others thought. It is the truest of love that can last through ancestors and generations that last forever.

Jericho is back in town trying to get his dream job at the college, what he wasn't expecting was the feelings he's has supressed for his best friend for years to boil over and make themselves knows like never before.

Zoey is considered flakey, just because she can't decide on a career, or a boyfriend. Growing up in Cupid she belived her love would be instant and at first sight not come creaping for her best friend. But now is their time to maybe see where things are going. Right? With him suddenly becoming her teacher for an archeology dig and secrets coming to light about her family's history their time might be a bit off after all.

Jericho is strong and reliable, smart and caring and all around a great guy. He's had a run of bad luck but he won't let it keep him down. When he's determined about something nothing can get in his way.

Zoey is a free bird and the baby of the family so she's always been a bit spoiled, now that she's finaly found a career she loves though people doubt her because of her past and she's determined to prove them wrong.

She brings him spontaneity and helps him see life without the scientist eyes. He help to ground her while still encourging her to be herself. These two are so sweet and their story is my favorite so far. I'm loving this series and how it continues to grow from the previous stories that have come out.

My Review:
5.0 Star Review - Somebody To Love

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Lori. This book sweet romance, laughs, heartache, and mystery.

Jericho is back in town after being away for three years. He has missed his best friend Zoe while he was gone. They kept in touch but it's just not the same as seeing her in person.

Zoe has feelings for Jericho ever since she can remember but knows that he just wants to be friends after one night when she kissed him and he didn't kiss her back.

When Jericho gets a job back in town he realizes that the he will be Zoe's teacher he must keep his growing feelings for her to himself.

As the story goes on they each fight feelings they have for each other but in the end will that do more harm then good?

This story also contains a mystery about a dig they are working on.

Lori’s characters are very believable and real. In each of these series stories you get new characters and old characters with a past you learn about with everyone of them. I always feel she fills in all the areas you need to know about the characters so the story is not lacking. So in a sense you feel as if you know them.

Very good read.

I have never read Lori Wilde before and this is the third installment of the series. I enjoyed this heartwarming story and I always love the friends who turn into more story lines. However, I did feel like I was missing something by not reading the first two in the series. Even though I felt a bit lost in the beginning I can’t wait to read more of this series.

Zoey McCleary and Jericho Chance have been friends since childhood. Even though he was four years older than her they have been best friends. Jericho is back in Cupid and he is surprised to discover he wants more from Zoey then her friendship. Her bright personality and razor sharp intelligence has sent a jolt to his heart that he decides she is his one person to love. Zoey is not one to settle down with one guy but Jericho is hard to resist. He has the ability to persuade her their friendship can be so much more. Complications arise when he becomes her teacher but sometimes taking a risk is worth it.

I love Lori's Cupid, Texas books!

This is the story of Jericho and Zoey, best friends since childhood, discovering they have feelings for each other.

In the beginning, both Jericho and Zoey keep their romantic feelings for each other a secret fearing they might ruin their friendship. Once they let each other know that they want to be more than friends, Jericho starts a teaching position at the local university. Zoey has to take his class in order to continue with her archeology studies. They decide to put their relationship on hold for a few months until the class is over and he is no longer her teacher. This is obviously easier said than done! I loved seeing the two of them fight their feeling and eventually giving in. Jericho is perfect for Zoey, he understands her better than anyone else, even her own family.

I can't wait until the next and final book of this series is available!

I received a copy of this books as part of Lori's review crew in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to love "Somebody To Love" but I couldn't. Wilde's created a substantive, sexy scholar in Jericho Chance, the main man. But Dr. Chances longtime best friend, Zoey McCleary, bored and irritated me. I spent most of my reading time rolling my eyes and hoping we'd be given some reason to become invested in her. Never happened. Please write a romance novel with a woman who isn't clueless, silly or self-absorbed. Through Jericho's voice, Wilde repeatedly tries to convince readers that Zoey is big-hearted, spirited, smart and running from love because of her loss of het parents at a young age. But please. I saw her as a spoiled character who continued to make self-absorbed, one-sided decisions with few nuances and even fewer reasons to care. I finished the book only because I try to finish once I start. A cute body and big green eyes just wasn't enough to care about Zoey. On the plus side, the redeeming aspect was learning about archeological digs.

Is it only me...or does the Cupide Texas Series just keep getting better and better!?

Firstly, can we just say...Hellloooooo Jericho!! As a huge fan of "Friends to Lovers" romances, and a HUGE fan of Lori Wilde romances (after the Jubilee Texas Series, which I am currently re-reading my love Joe Daniels in THE COWBOY TAKES A BRIDE), I absolutely enjoyed every moment of SOMEBODY TO LOVE, book three in the Cupid, Texas Series.

The suspense aspect was a fun addition to the story and certainly keeps you hanging on, page after page, and your heart will take a few hits with this one, but in the end, I can say that Lori will leave you with the warm and fuzzies...Satisfaction Guaranteed.

Grab some cocoa, and a warm blanket and settle in for a heartwarming read which will keep you up into the night.

No one knows Cowboys like Lori Wilde!!

I received Somebody To Love as a free copy from the authors review crew in exchange for an honest review.

This is a story about best friends becoming lovers. Zoey is a flighty and impulsive girl who can't seem to settle down and grow up. Jericho is the Yang to Zoeys Yin. Best friends from early childhood they seem to balance each other out. Jericho, who has had the hots for Zoey since their teens, arrives back in Cupid to try and overcome a "situation" that happened at his last job. Zoey is trying out archaeology as a lark only to discover it may be her calling.

Add some sparks flying between Zoey and Jericho, some dirt, a tribal legend, a dash of mystery, and a secret someone wants to keep hidden. What do you get? A fabulous read.

Even though this book is part of the Cupid, TX series it can stand alone. I highly recommend this book.

This book was done in my favorite trope - friends to lovers. Flighty Zoey, the sister of Natalie from All Out of Love, and her "best friend" Jericho, reunite after a few years. They have been friends since childhood, and obviously the attraction has been there, but they have been afraid to act on it. Now, they are in temporary position of professor & student, and Jericho's job is on the line if they get involved. Jericho is supervising an archeological dig with Zoey other students. Besides the sexual tension & love story between Zoey & Jericho, there is a subplot with some mystery, suspense & betrayal involving other characters. This may be my favorite of the series, so far!

I would probably have finished this book if it hadn't been due back at the library. HOWEVER, as much as I liked the main characters while reading the ebook sample, I only got about halfway through reading the paperback (p 195, ch 13). And less than that before I started getting really annoyed at the main characters. I'd like to think they get better, by which I mean less irritatingly flighty and irresponsible, I will probably look for spoilery reviews rather than re-borrowing the book.

We are back in Cupid, Texas in this adventure packed story! Zoey and lifelong best friend Jericho are working together on an archaeological dig. This is a fun story packed full of adventure and mystery and of course romance. Great characters and a fast paced story make this one a must read.

Awful. I don't know why I even bothered finishing this book. I found the heroin annoying and the hero bland. This was definitely not my type of romance. I will not be listening to/reading any more from this author.

This book began with the ending, with Zoey running for her life and then jumping off a cliff. From there the author took the reader back to the beginning and led the reader to that ending. I kept wondering how Zoey would end up on that cliff and how the story would finally end.

Jericho and Zoey have been friends since childhood. He moved in with his grandparents when he was eight after his parents went to China to work. They happened to live next door to Zoey, who was four at the time. They clicked and have been best friends ever since. Now Jericho returns to Cupid, TX with a Ph.D. in Archeology and hoping for a job at the local university.

Zoey never left Cupid, TX and at 24 she still hasn’t settled on a major. Zoey is the wild child, never settling down, constantly following whatever catches her attention with no thought of consequences, living off her trust fund. While they have been best friends for 20 years, Jericho and Zoey are suddenly looking at each other differently.

Cowboy-scholar Jericho Chance is smart, focused, and can follow Zoey’s mind as she flits from one thought to another. He is an anchor, a solid friend, and I really enjoyed him. Zoey is mercurial; she focuses on the good and just follows wherever her thoughts take her. She is also very intelligent and has a knack for solving puzzles. She may think about the consequences of her actions but then goes ahead anyway. That can be annoying at times, but it made Jericho’s attraction to her even more vibrant.

My first Lori Wilde book and I was left wanting more. More romance, more spark, just more. I found the story to be quite boring but that could have been because of the archeological parts. Not knocking archeologists but having to painstakingly uncover finds, then me having to painstakingly read them, No thanks.
The other big issue were Jericho and Zoe. BFF's for 20 years, they now see each other in a different light. Jericho, hot and hunky, I didn't have a problem with. Zoe on the other hand drove me nuts. She reminded me of a fly that keeps buzzing around your ear until you squash it. I get it, she's supposed to be impulsive, cute and adorable, but she was annoying.
Lastly, both Jericho and Zoe had a lot to lose if they didn't successfully finish the dig. All they had to do was wait four weeks, then they could have been at "it" night and day if they chose. But no, stuff the career and the trust fund. These two just couldn't wait. Self-control people. I'm guessing this was used to show us how desperately they wanted to be together.
Hoping for a better experience next time I read Wilde.
