Slightly better than Shadows and Shafts because Blake had to grovel. Wasn't enough grovelling though.
Hated the written accents.
The book ends unresolved because what is Caroline now? How will Rhett+Blake survive post bonding? Are they going back into the ground or will they have to get a real job? What about the killing spree they left behind?

This was a dark, fun and voracious read. I liked Caroline, Blake and Rhett. The men were super steamy and got into many compromising positions. Caroline was interesting, especially during her change.

I can confidently say that I have never read zombie smut, and now after reading this I need to go on a TBR hunt for more, though I doubt much can top this, even with the short page number. Honestly that's just a testament to how good this writing and smut is.
The entire time my jaw remained firmly on the floor and I could not tear my eyes away from this until I finished. I loved how fast and spicy this was even with the short page number, not to mention a decent bit of world building. I am anxiously waiting to read the next book in the series!!

Creepy And Hot!
Books about The Knottiverse are creepy, crazy and cruel and also sweet, caring and hot. It takes a certain attraction to the absurd to be able to enjoy these stories, but I do! In the end there is always a deserved HEA for everybody concerned.

I’ve always thought Halloween is best spent indoors, safely barricaded with snacks and Netflix, but Caroline and her friends clearly missed that memo. Instead, they decide it’s the ideal time for a camping trip. Spoiler: it isn’t. Because Halloween also happens to be when creatures that go bump (and chew) in the night come out to play. Case in point: Blake and Rhett, two zombies (yep, zombies) who crawl out of their graves every Hallow’s Eve to top up on fresh meat and deliver their victims’ souls straight to Sathanas. Forget the tired trope of “brains, brains, brains.” These boys aren’t picky; they’ll happily dig right into the guts of the matter - literally. And if the image of Blake tearing off a leg and chomping it like a KFC drumstick doesn’t make you gag just a little… congratulations, you’ve got a stronger stomach than I do. What I actually loved was the dynamic between the undead duo. Blake is all grouchy hunger and bad attitude. He wants to eat Caroline in the least fun way possible. Rhett, meanwhile, is the smooth-talking, more laid-back type who immediately clocks her as their Omega. While Blake might be the boss on paper, Rhett doesn’t hesitate to throw himself between Caroline and danger, which added a nice twist to their power play. Now, let’s talk about the smut. Because yes, there’s a lot of it. Yes, it’s dark. And yes, the Knottiverse lives up to its name—even when zombies are involved (never thought I’d type that sentence). Non-con elements? Absolutely. Gore and spice in equal measure? Check. Caroline doesn’t seem to put up much resistance, but honestly, Blake and Rhett steal so much of the spotlight she often feels more like a prop than a protagonist. But hey, when you’re caught between two horny, undead Alpha males with a bone to pick (literally), what’s a girl to do? At the end of the day, this is a gore-splattered, smut-soaked Halloween romp that definitely won’t be for everyone. It’s campy, it’s kinky, it’s gross, and it made me laugh more than once in between grimaces. If your idea of Halloween fun is equal parts eww and ooh, then grab your candy, lock your doors, and dive in. Trick or treat, indeed.

This story meshes together omegaverse, reverse harem, and monster tropes.
Unfortunately for Caroline, she doesn't know what an omega is or that she is one. She also doesn't know what an alpha is let alone zombie alphas. Blake and Rhett soon show her....the hard way.
What I enjoyed about this story was the relationship between Blake and Rhett. They were two best friends that followed each other into the after life. They were very different from one another, but it balanced each one. Where Blake was grouchy and stubborn, Rhett used charm and was open minded. I also liked that they didn't eat brains and their bodies regenerated.
There were a few triggers. High on the list is nocon. I felt like there should have been more to the story. Sathanas, the one who wakes them every year, but no more info about what power he holds over them nor why they let him change them.

Another captivating addition to the Knottiverse series, wonderful characters and storyline
This is a wonderful read right from the off and is centred around the main characters who are Caroline, Rhett and Blake and I have to say that this has probably been one of my most favourite in this series to this point.
In this book readers will once again find themselves up to their knees in gore and zombies along with a good amount on knotting just to keep things as sexily interesting as usual. This story is a true Halloween read with death and decay and rotting corpses and flesh but for those that enjoy these topics you will be blown away by this book.
I have to say that I found that once I started reading this book, I simply had to continue reading so that I could discover the outcome and I suspect that other readers will be as riveted to the book as myself.
I look forward as always to future books by this marvellous writer who has a simply wonderful and animated writing style that covers all genres.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

this one is a dark rough story where caroline a human woman out camping is attacked by two zombies rhett and blake who rise at halloween. they need to feed then they capture her. they sexually assault her in the woods before realizing she is an omega and their mate. they are shocked zombies have never had life mates. but blake wants no mate he just wants her as food. while arguing they leave her injured but she escapes and they must find her and decide what to do since she belongs to them both but they are not in agreement. blake finds her first and attacks her and leaves her dying. its up to rhett to save her and make blake see the future they could have if only they embrace what fate has given them which means they must all claim each other for the bond to take hold and her to live. can they all become more than what initially began and find happiness together as life mates? can caroline forgive them for what they did to her and make peace with them? can blake overcome his beginnings with caroline since she's now afraid of him?

This one is DARK and filled with non con, so be warned. Wow, what a story, this one definitely left me speechless with its gore, intensity, and smexy scenes.
Story of two alpha zombies who awaken during the Halloween weekend, hunting and devouring human flesh. They scent a delicious woman who evokes lust, not hunger. They take her away, kicking and begging and ruin her body, mind, and soul for anyone else, creating an omega just for them to keep for eternity.
Adorable nesting scene and descriptive acts of depravity with knots that are just smoking hot 🥵 It's a long and gruesome road to their HEA but they eventually get there as bonded mates. Luckily they have literally forever together because they have lots to make up to Caroline!
I love these two zombies and holy undead are they scorching! I definitely recommend this spicy little novella and will be reading it again multiple times ❤️

If you want our smut with a side of zombie this book is for you. Short, spicy and to the point.
I love VT Bonds writing but this one was a little weird for me. I’m not a zombie loving girl, it grosses me out. But because I am a huge fan of this author I gave it whirl.
Just because it’s not my fave doesn’t mean it won’t be yours. So check it if you love zombie action.

It’s Halloween and the monsters come out to play. These characters are brought to life in colorful detail. Rhett and Blake are zombies from another time and place, and they are alphas. They are hungry and need to feed on human flesh for their boss, so they go on a feeding frenzy. Caroline didn’t want to go camping with her best friend. Turns out Caroline should have stayed home. Her “best” friend invited the jocks to stay with them. The zombies ride to the rescue as Caroline is accosted by a particularly pushy jock. The zombies are going to ruin Caroline and turn her into an omega. I laughed and laughed some more. You’ve got to read this great book to see what happens. I recommend this book unless you are squirmy with gore or have any triggers on explicit scenes.

I love this time of year when the leaves start to turn and we can start celebrating Halloween and this entire series came at the right time for me to enjoy. This book is the second in The Knottiverse: Halloween Monsters series. It is a why choose romance with MMCs that you'd call the police on if you were to come across them IRL. But, in the safety of your pages, they are fantastic. I would definitely read the TWs before diving in. If you have a love/hate relationship with being tickled, I think you'll love this one. I don't want to give anything away, but there were parts where I wanted the "monsters" to suffer and then immediately tickled by the "torture" they doled out. Overall, a great read that's not for the faint of heart.

The ever glorious queen VT Bonds took me on a wild ride of zombies, gore and knotting with this Halloween treat. It is dark and twisted so please check the triggers at the door before fully diving in because it does have quite a few of them.
Honestly, I was kind of torn into diving this ARC because rotting flesh and decaying corpses as potential mates did not appeal to me but the way VT wrote this may have changed my views. It’s more of a zombie shifter than all out zombie which I can deal with and kinda want more of.
Caroline, Rhett and Blake’s story is unique and I found myself devouring the pages, even through the rough parts only to be left wanting more when I reached the end. I hope she writes more with this take, I would love to see more of these three and new characters introduced.

This is a fast paced, super smutty Halloween quick read. Heed the TWs as this is noncon between two recently reawakened zombies and a woman in the woods. What starts as hormonally driven devouring of Caroline turns out to be an alpha/omega mating. Rhett and Blake turn out to be more than just monsters as Caroline brings out their protective, caring instincts. And there is a bit of grovelling to make up for their monster instincts taking over.
While this is a fun quick read, there are too many threads left unanswered. I was a little frustrated at the lack of a proper ending. So you kinda just have to take it at face value.... steamy Halloween novella all about the smut less about narrative sense.

As always VT Bonds does wonders with a short story with little plot ,she adds her magic and kept me in a full engagement adding explosive chemistry between the characters and scorching hot scenes.

So, this popped up as an ARC read for a new to me author and I thought sure why not. This holds nothing back in the way of zombies, so if you are squeamish about parts falling off and people getting eaten (not in a good way) then you may want to pass. There is non-con and abuse in the beginning as well that some may find too much. The storyline is unique and takes many twists and turns. You will have plenty of alpha/omega mating, control, and bonding. I was left with one big question which was, are things going to be different after this Halloween? This was such a gory and spicy Halloween romp! With that opening, it would behoove you to check the TWs before diving in as this is a bloody and noncon read. I can't imagine going camping for Halloween, but Caroline is pushed to go with her friends. Alpha zombie friends, Rhett and Blake, get woken every Halloween to go feasting. Yes, exactly as you'd expect of a zombie. However, when they catch Caroline's scent, they're much more into a carnal sort of hunger ;P With Caroline not knowing about alphas and omegas, let alone that she's an omega, this was quite the wild ride for her. With nesting, knots and hot zombie spice, this was an entertaining page turner. Good fun!

I'm enjoying the Knottiverse series so far! They're quick, high heat 🔥 reads. Definitely peek at the cw warning at the beginning, these are darker than her normal reads, som dubious consent included.
I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. Zombies are not usually my thing and I was wondering how ick it could get with rotting, falling off body parts. There was a great solution to that and it didnt turn out to be anything I was grossed out by at all. This one was a fun read, however I do think I enjoyed the first in the series best. Off to start the next in line!.

This is a quick and smutty read. This is not a sunshine and love story. Caroline goes through a lot with Rhett and Blake and it is not all good. The two zombies wake to find that coming across Caroline will change everything. There are a lot of unanswered questions left after reading this book. I enjoy this authors writing but would have liked a bit more information on what will happen to the three now that they have found one another. This book moves along quickly and is both hot and dark just in time for the spooky season.

Zombies, Rhett and Blake have been awaken for Halloween. They are on the hunt for food when they come across Caroline and want more. But that's not suppose to be. They aren't meant to feel this way and yet, they both can't help the way they react to her. Fate have aligned for all three of them and they'll do what's needed to make themselves feel complete.
A great addition to The Knottiverse: Halloween Monsters series. I wasn't sure which monsters we'll get but damn, VT Bonds made Zombies sexy as heck. Really enjoyed this quick read.

The storyline of Zombies and Zippers is unapologetically dark, leaning heavily into classic dark romance tropes. The author includes content warnings for potential triggers, ensuring readers are aware of the nature of the book's narrative before diving in. This read gives a playful nod to the Omegaverse worlds that are hallmarks of V.T. Bonds' writing style, by bringing the spicy Knottiverse around to this Halloween. While I'm still a little on the fence about the undead and this spice level, it was still a fun quick read.

Sweet treat
This was ab oddly pleasant bit of story. I think i giggled more than I should have. Definitely a bit sketchy goings on. Dark woods and the wrong kinda friends gets you this kinda troub.
VT man ... the descriptions come to life in your head. Lol
Coming to life vs coming ... well so brains it is amoung other parts.
They work for the big guy "points down" when its rise and shine time its all about satisfying the hunger.
She smart and saucy. Bold "my what eyes you have" when the flight or fight kicked in and then.

This short story is triple POV, well written and edited, and a dark, ménage a trois, male zombie alphas (Blake and Rhett)/female human omega (Caroline), Halloween, fated mates, forced engagement erotica. The content warnings for this story are accurate. I enjoyed Caroline’s determination to fight her situation, both before and after meeting the lead males. I laughed at Blake’s stubbornness and enjoyed seeing him repent somewhat. I enjoyed Rhett’s willingness to fight for their mate.

This is one tale that was both steamy and horrifying. I’ll say this: it was erotic. The main male characters, Rhett and Blake, as zombies, left me yucky. I’m really unsure what to make of this aspect. I’m glad that the main female character tried to get away from them. However, they catch her later. I was half rooting for her to make good that escape. It was a novel that provoked some very odd feelings. It was a good story, but it was one of the very weirdest in the erotic horror genre.
