The situation Brett lobs into her father's lap is a major scoop. But the secret she discovers about Brett is just as newsworthy. Will her feelings for this wounded warrior win out, or will she release a story guaranteed to destroy Brett's SEAL career? When Tess's father is kidnapped, Brett's team is deployed to find him. Excellent story! 4.5 stars. This is why I love a good military-romance. Breaking Through was a very worthwhile read and a great way to spend my time lost in a satisfying story. TR has a great writing style and this was a wonderful addition to Breaking Free. Didn’t want to put this bk down, intriguing storyline, lots of action, really good drama and I love the characters. Happy to know that Hawk and Zoe’s story continues here. The depth of their relationship is heart melting as they struggle to deal with their intense love for each other along with having the ups and downs of Hawk’s deployment. In this story that was a real challenge. This series is aptly titled Seal Team Heartbreakers. This story really made me stop and think about what real life soldiers endure having to leave their families and loved ones behind when duty calls and how difficult that must be on both sides. The wonder and worry until they hopefully reunite safely home. Hawk and Zoe share the limelight with Zoe’s brother Brett as well as a story with Zoe/Brett’s mother Clara. The scenes with Zoe doing rehab with amputees was a heart grabber. Love the camaraderie of the Seals, their banter as well as their cohesiveness as a team. Looking forward to bk 3. Just hope the wait isn’t too long.

This book packs a punch. There are so many emotional moments I cried at a few of them.

This book is a continuation from the first book. Brett is now released from the hospital but still isn't cleared for duty. Zoe and Hawk are still very much in love but not rushing things even though Zoe is keeping a secret from him. Brett and Zoe's mom comes back and she runs into Brett's Dr from when he was in a coma, Russell and his son at the airport and sparks fly. All the old team is back except for Derrick who is in jail and Flash who is still missing/AWOL.

Brett and Tess Brett still hasnt been cleared for duty and he is asked to do a speaking engagement in front of 200 women. Not his idea of funny especially with the speech problem his still has from the attempt on his life. Tess is at the event to cover it for the paper she works for. They both are attracted to each other but with everything that is going on it Brett's life getting involved with a reporter probably isn't the best thing. But when Brett is accused of the disappearance and possible death of the teen child he and Derrick were to have dropped of at his home in Iraq he knows he is going to need to help to expose what is really going on. It was good to see Brett back on his feet even though it seemed like it was just one bad thing after another as far as his job went. He and Tess made a great team and couple once they really started trusting each other.

Zoe and Hawk Hawk who is still reeling from the betrayal of Derrick against the team and is now facing charges from the way he and the team went in and saved Zoe, Brett and Derrick's girl friend from Derrick. Hawk is the leader of these band of men and he still had a strong presence in this book. It was great to see how his and Zoe's relationship was progressing.

Clara (mom of Zoe and Brett) and Russell Clara who was very prominent in the first book but had left to go help her other daughter toward the end comes back to be with Brett and Zoe. At the airport she runs into Russell who had been Brett's Dr. He is there to pick up his son who he hasnt seen in a while. Both Clara and Russell realize he is very sick when they see him. Clara who is like the best mother hen around decides she is going to cook for them and bring it over and this starts a beautiful romance between the two. But it also is the most heartbreaking where Russell's son Evan is concerned. Their story in the book had me crying more than once.

As all of these stories are going on, the father of the missing Iraqi boy makes a grave mistake and goes to a radical terrorist to exact revenge on those who he thinks killed his son. This puts Brett and the whole team including there families in grave danger.

As this is an on going series there are still many loose ends. I know its going to be the last book of the series before we find out what really went wrong with Derrick. I dont know who's next in the series but I cant wait.

Breaking Through is the first of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers series that I have read. It works perfectly as a stand-alone book but I can't wait to go back and read the first one. The book is filled with inside information on the workings of a SEAL team, making the reader feel part of the action. Yet Ms Reasor manages to weave this information into the story so seamlessly that it never interferes with an interesting and complex plot. Beautifully written, a must read.

When I read the first Book, Breaking Free, I totally fell in love the all the characters. I was so excited when I saw that the second Book, Breaking Through was out that I had to read it. Once I started reading Breaking Through, same thing happen as the first book, I couldn’t put it down. I was up very late reading, till I realized that I had re-read the same sentence 3 times and couldn’t remember what I had read!

I went to sleep thinking about this book and at 6 am, it was in my hands before I even had my first cup of coffee. In Breaking Through, we don’t just have one couple, but, in fact, there are 3.
First off, I really like the fact that we got to see the continuing story between the 2 main characters from the first book, Hawk and Zoe and we get to see how their relationship keeps getting stronger. Again, both play a big role in Breaking Through. I fell in love with these two all over again.

In fact, most of the characters from book one are in this story, except for Flash, who is still missing and Derrick who is sitting in jail.

The second couple, is also the main Hero and Heroine, Tess and Brett. Brett is Zoe’s brother and a soldier on Hawk’s team. Brett spends most of the first book in a coma. When he wakes up, he has no memory of the whole last week before he was injury, while on duty in Iraq. Tess is the newbie in this story. Brett has recovered and is wanting to return to active duty status when the Sh*t hits the fan. Tess is a newspaper reported and Brett goes to her for help, trying to clear his name for a crime that he can’t remember. The sparks fly the moment these two meet. This is when the adventure really starts.

The final couple is Clara and Russell. Clara is Zoe’s and Brett’s mother. We first met Clare in Breaking Free, well as Russell, who was Brett’s Dr. while he was in a coma. This was the storyline what stole the show for me. It’s so sweet and tender, but at the same time it was the most heartbreaking story of them all. I normally don’t cry reading books, but Teresa Reasor masterfully pulls at every human heart string. I think I must have hit all the major emotions in one chapter alone. One minute I cried like a baby and the next I was pissed off, wanting to punch someone.

The only reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars, was the fact that, in my opinion, because of the powerful dynamics of Clara and Russell’s storyline, I felt it caused Brett and Tess’s story seemed lacking.

I’m so looking forward to reading the next book in this series, I NEED to know what happened to Flash!!

Follow up to Breaking Free, Breathing Through is another great suspense novel with strong, complex characters and well written romance. I like that the characters that I become attached to in Breaking Free are still important in this book. Teresa Reasor is now on my list of "must read" authors!

Cutter is still recovering from the injury he received in Iraq. Not only can he not remember what happen when he was injured, now NCIS wants to blame him for the disappearance, they assume murder, of the son of an Iraqi bigwig and he can't remember anything from that day or the week before. He enlists the help of a newspaper reporter to whom he is attracted, but they both insist they can not get involved; she says at all and he says until the investigation is over. He knows that if the Navy finds out he talked to a reporter, his career could be in the toilet no matter what else happens, but he doesn't think NCIS is going to look for answers very hard, and he doesn't think he can trust his CO to stand up for him.

This book should be read after Breaking Free. It is a great book too and I am looking forward to reading the third book, Breaking Away.

This is another amazing work from Ms. Reasor. The 1st book of the series let you fall in love with the characters and the dynamic of the SEALs Team. In this book all the characters are back, and though Brett and Tess are the center of the story, and have great chemistry together, Ms Reasor let us see into Clara & Russell’s relation and we still see a lot of Hawk and Zoe.

This book concentrate quiet a bit on the politics of the NAVY and their chain of command, how this amazing group of SEALs will do right by their sense of duty and how tightly their bonds are to one another.

Loved that we get to see what was happening in Iraq with Sanjay father.

I’m sorry we still don’t know Derrick side as to what trigger him to almost kill Brett.

The way the epilogue entwined with the 1st book epilogue was amazing.

Ensign Brett Weaver has been in a coma for a month and when he wakes he finds out that he is being investigated for murder! How is he going to be able to prove his innocence? He really hates the idea of going to the press but when he meets Tess Kelly he decides to try and get the press on his side. But can he trust her with his other secrets?

Tess Kelly has been trying really hard to live up to her father’s expectations. And when she meets Brett Weaver she may just have the chance to impress her father! The secret she discovers about Brett could land her a great story but with her feelings growing for the man she must decide which one means more to her. The story or the man.

I am loving this series! I can not wait to read more. They keep you on the edge of your seat and are absolutely amazing! Teresa Reasor is a fabulous author and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the team!

I liked this one much better than the 1st one. There were several plots going on, but the author managed it so that there were little cliff hangers throughout the book which worked quite well for me. I found Brett as likable in this one as he was when a supporting player in Breaking Free. Also really liked Tess, how she was a little vulnerable but much more independent and less needy that Zoe. Zoe is in this one and has continued her maturing process, which I felt was a logical character development. Seems like a few loose threads at the end - what will happen with Sanjay and also are we ever going to find how what happened to Flash. Hope there is a 3rd book in the works

I love this series. Military romance is not my usual genre but Reasor does a fantastic job of bringing you these Special Ops Navy SEALs into your heart. You can't help but to fall in love with them and appreciate the sacrifices they make for us every day. You have to admire the endurance and perseverance of the unit as they face the dangers and threats on the foreign soil as well on the home front. Be prepared for a tearfest... oh yes, I went through a lot of tissues... tears of sadness and tears of joy. I felt there were some things left vague in the first book but all the blanks were filled in thoroughly in the sequel. Great read. Enjoy!

Teresa Reasor writes military romance with heart. Her characters are real. They have problems and crushes, bad days and funny moments. I have read and enjoyed the first book in the series, Breaking Free, and it was so wonderful to revisit the characters I’d met and enjoyed in that book. Besides, delivering tension and emotion, Ms. Reasor also explores the dynamics and tangles of parent-and-child relationships throughout Breaking Through and this was a theme that truly resonated with me and made me fall in love with the characters. If you want a read with substance, check this book out.

When I first started this book, I thought it was amazing the way the author took you back in time to the first book in the series. It's a completely different story with all your favorite characters and some great new ones, that complete the first book in the series. The Primary character in Book 2 is Brett, but Zoe & Hawk are still there with you.

I laughed and I cried with this moving story. It's full of action, love and intrique!

I can not wait for the next in the Heartbreakers series!

A great follow-up to Breaking Free. I loved seeing more of Zoe and Hawk. It was also great to see Brett get his HEA. I hope this series continues and the rest of the single guys on the team get their own story.

I now realise why I hadn't read this one after I had read the first one 2 years ago. This was incredibly hard to follow. Again, we had a gazillion characters... none of which I really thought that I got to know. Whilst the story-lines interlinked to a degree... it didn't really make any sense.

This ran concurrently to 'Breaking Free' pretty much. Why didn't we meet the new characters in that one?

And... I am more than pissed off with the stereotypes inflicted on virtually every single character in this.

Then... we had 2 storylines... son with AIDS and the revelation he made. And the baby, who I am assuming is a Down's baby... Neither of those threads were dealt with well. Neither given the gravitas they deserved... what was the baby's dads issue? And what in the everlovin' was going on with Evan's mother? And I assume Evan was 30-ish? And successful in his business... why didn't he seek justice earlier?

This was a big let-down. I am still giving it a 2 star rating cos I am desperately trying to 1 star titles that I have read unless they tick all my 'no-go' boxes... am seriously debating whether or not to try the next one. But there are so many unresolved plot-lines that I can only assume that they are going to be carried onto the next one in the series.

Oh... and the blurb really misrepresents what the plot actually is...

( I'm out of this series... I just had a look at the rest of the series. Decided that I had no interest in any of the characters... especially Derrick... whilst sometimes there can be redemption... for him? A trained military person who had physically abused his partner? Who attempted to kill her & whoever got in his way? He got a dishonourable discharge and 7 years... then a fresh start... with, no doubt, a HEA. Nope. Nope. Nope. )

Breaking Through: Military Romantic Suspense: SEAL Team Heartbreakers Book 2 is by Teresa Reasor. This book is just as good as the first. You just think you know what will happen.
Brett “Cutter” Weaver has awakened from his coma but can’t remember before or during the mission. However, in his dreams, he remembers some things. He remembers Derrick Armstrong ”Strongman” arguing with him in the helicopter about Cutter’s getting in between Strongman and some kid. He remembers having words with Strongman and Flash but doesn’t remember what they were about. The hit on the head and the explosion has caused some problems with his speech, knowing some words. The doctors are not sure if it will go away permanently or not. If it doesn’t, that means his life in the military is at an end.
Then, Cutter finds out he is a suspect in the killing of a young boy. He and Derrick had been in a protective cover assignment just before going on the last mission. The other eight men in the convoy had been killed in action since then. Only Cutter and Derrick remained alive and Derrick was now in jail for trying to kill Cutter. The kid they were assigned to protect was to be taken home. The parents said he never arrived and now he was missing and presumed dead. What happened? Only Derrick knows and he isn’t talking. Who is trying to frame him for murder?

I actually liked this book more than the first one from the series. I loved Brett and how sensitive, yet manly he is. The main character, Tess, is a strong and independent character, and very likeable. What I enjoyed about this book is that it combined three stories in one. We revisited Hawk and Zoe, and they played a big role here, then Clara and Russell, and finally Brett and Tess. All in all a very good and highly recommended read.

Breaking Through focuses on Brett’s situation as he recovers from his injuries and his search to uncover the truth about what happened to him on his last mission. I strongly recommend that you read Breaking Free first because Zoe and Hawk’s storyline continues to develop in this second installment. The brain injuries Brett has suffered have affected his memory and he decides to work with Tess, a young attractive journalist who is just starting out in her career and whose father, a legendary journalist, may be able to help him to find out what really happened in Iraq and prove his innocence. Tess has her own issues with her father and along with a disastrous past relationship, she’s wary of becoming too involved with Brett no matter how much she has grown to admire and respect this handsome, dedicated soldier who can’t remember what happened to him but is absolutely certain he has done nothing wrong:

“You’re a source, Brett. I can’t-“
“One day I’m not going to be a source anymore, and you’re going to have to decide.”
“Decide what?
Whether to stand on the sidelines and watch life go by, or be a par-“ he paused while he searched for the word. “Participant.”
Was that really how he saw her?
“I’m working to break through my speech issues. I’d love to be there when you break through yours, when you finally reach for what you want without holding back.”
“And you think I’ll reach for you?” she asked, trying to scoff, but not quite pulling it off.
“You did once. I’m hoping you’ll do it again.”

The plot is well-executed, the action intense, and the romance steamy!

Book two in the SEAL Team Heartbreaker Series brings us full circle back into giving us a really good idea of why certain things happened in the first book that happened. We see what happened with Brett and why he was attacked. We see a terrorist come into play in San Diego, calling upon others to become brothers in arms. We see innocent women attacked and the angry men that love them. We watch as new love blossoms, between Brett and Tess, and Brett's mother Clara and his Doctor when he was in the hospital after returning stateside, Dr. Connelly. We meet the good Doctor's son, Evan and watch what happens with him. We see the backstory of how Hawk finds out he will be a father. It really is an enjoyable book, I laughed, I screamed in frustration, and I shouted for the good guys! Happy days can only be coming again. Oh, and we also find out who is behind all the issues that the team is having with NCIS and the like. It was NOT who I was expecting, but it makes sense when you know the why.

Ok, I have to say this book hit to many buttons with me.
I unfortunately had not read book one but thought as is usual in romance series that it would be a stand alone story. Not! I felt like I had started in the middle of a book and not a clue what was going on. It took a large portion of the book figured out because the past storyline wasn't explained very well. I hate playing catch up with a book I have just started.
I also had trouble figuring out all the characters. So many names and couples popping up at the beginning added an extra distraction.
I also found the characters to one way or the other. Example: all work first and family left out to fend for themselves (Jackson) or so worried about their girlfriends that they seem to be wimpy ( Hawk). The women were kind of either suck it up so the man doesn't worry or worried about if they can handle being alone and worried while their man was on a mission.
I just gave up after a good third of the book and jumped to the last fourth of the book.
I am sorry to say that although the author shows promise I will not be reading more from this series.

The story of the SEAL TEAM continues here, and even though book one did not end with cliff-hanger, this book follows the first story and I wouldn't recommend to read it as a stand-alone.
I'm enthralled with this team, they brotherhood, extended family feel, respect and protectiveness of each other.
On Breaking Through we don't only get the suspense of the war and service in Iraq, but also terrorist attacks at home, political games that are played against the team, and family dysfunctions. Just about all kind of jeopardy you can think of, the team has to face it, deal with it, and find solution. The many narrow escapes of danger builds a spine-chilling adventure.
In this book romance is plenty and with multiple couples. They love completely, passionately, lustfully, and intensely. They are willing to make sacrifices for each other, protect each other till the end, stand by and up to each other, no matter what they are facing.
There was couple times a bit confusion with the timeline, but over all very satisfying continues to the story of the SEAL TEAM.
