With primary sources never before translated into English, Kitchen Debate and Cold War Consumer Politi cs connects this debate, which profoundly shaped the economic, social, and cultural contours of the Cold War era, to consumer society, gender ideologies, and geopolitics.
Had to read for Russian History II and actually really enjoyed! Great collection of primary sources with a bit of a humorous flair at times (perhaps unintended, but I found it humorous at times).
I read this text for the Hist 104 course I was a TA for. It gives a good overview of the cold war and some great primary source material on the subject. I don't think the students were that thrilled with it, but there were some sources that definitely stood out to them.
