This nonfiction book explains how ancient cultures such as Egyptian, Sumerian, Greek and Roman interpreted dreams and the religious meaning behind them. It mentions how different American Indian tribes including the Navajo and Papago believed dreams were very important. Dream rituals are also included and Cunningham explains how to attain "sacred sleep." The gods/goddesses that symbols in dreams were believed to represent are added at the end of the book. This novel was very interesting and informative. It teaches of dreams being pathways to spirituality and shows a side of dreaming that I have never head before.
