Guilty Creatures

A warm and witty contemporary novel from the author of MOVING ON UP

Mim Pilgrim is so fed up with her husband that she's driven to exploring the full length of her window-cleaner's tattoo. Fisher (once known as Frank) Pilgrim doesn't notice; he's a TV shrink on the verge of his big break, and although he's officially an expert on family matters he also hasn't noticed that his daughter has something more than a teenage crush on her drama teacher and his adolescent son is suffering an overwhelming dose of hormonal disruption.

But a promotable family background is good for Fisher's image, and so when Mim becomes acquainted with an eminent literary figure, he and his producer decide to make the most of it. It's a catalyst for chaos, and before long everyone is entangled in a situation way beyond the reaches of pop psychology – but which might benefit from Mim's straight talking…

Not a great read the characters were just ridiculous, it wasn't funny, I didn't crack a smile let alone laugh. The only good thing was that it was a short book!

Pretty trashy novel where all the main characters are either cheating on someone or being cheated on, with plenty of overlaps and suggestions of inappropriate relationships between adult men and under-age girls. Lots of sex, not much plot.

This was my first ever chick-lit book. I loved it and been a huge fan of Sue Welfare ever since. The characters are engaging and fun.

It's fabulous. If you're looking for a book to spend a lovely time with, this is it. It delivers a wonderful experience. It's well written, the characters are engaging and like-able and it's brilliant to have it set in Norfolk.

Slow to start, took me a while to get into it. Also left me wanting to more about what happened in the end.
