Love Explained #3

Love...It's Wild

Rate this book
Falling in love has never been this wild…

I’m a woman who knows my own worth. And more than anything, I deserve love. Wild, passionate, all-consuming love.

What I did not deserve was being forced to hang around my small town to watch the jerk who left me at the alter fawn over his new wife. Instead, I ran.

Right into him.

Robert Bronson is my friend’s grumpy brother-in-law. He’s also a sexy single dad in need of a nanny.

And that’s how I found myself on his ranch in my cowboy boots and pretty summer dress.

Robert and I are complete opposites. He doesn’t even believe in happily ever after. I know I should stop pushing all his buttons…and falling into bed with him.

But I don’t.

So, what’s a girl to do when she falls for the man who is most likely to break her heart?

I have no idea. But until I figure it out, I’m going to enjoy every minute of this hot, wild ride…

When I was little, my mom was part of the Double Day book club. She had piles and piles of books lying around the house; most of them with Fabio-esque men and a scantily clad woman set in a different century. I made up stories in my head just from looking at the covers.

When I as 9, I wrote stories using my best friend as a muse. They were romances...but for the 9-year-old. She was the only one who read them.

When I was 14, another friend gave me a Marian Keyes novel. I fell in-love with her wit, and humor with a dark side. This was my first experience with realistic fiction.

When I was 19, Nicholas Sparks forever changed my views on relationships. I learned what true love could be beautiful and difficult at the same time. I wanted it.

When I was 22, Jeannette Wells made me feel more emotion from an autobiographical novel than I thought possible. I wanted to be her.

When I was 30, Jamie McGuire and Colleen Hoover introduced me to the world of self-publishing. For the first time I thought: I could give this a try someday.

When I was 32, my someday came.

I knew Tara's story will be my favorite, even before I read it and I was absolutely right! Jeannine Colette has hit this one out of the park! Love...It's Wild is all about slow burn beauty, grumpy sunshine opposites attract tension that you can cut with a knife, emotions that wreck you and make your heart ache and chemistry that burns and sizzle.

Tara has earned an unfair reputation because she knows what she wants in her love life and she isn't afraid to go for it. But she has been kissing a lot of frogs. Her best friend's brother in law is the last person she should feel attraction for. But Rob is just so intense and brooding and serious..And desperately in need of a nanny for his daughter and watcher for his teenage boy. Tara volunteers for the role, moving to the ranch..but their chemistry is too hot. Tara is exactly opposite of what Rob thinks in his life but actually this sassy vixen is the one who is going to change him forever.

This series is unique in the way the author tackles a different aspect of romantic situations in every book. Tara is successful, independent , smart and witty. She has brain and beauty. She is a go getter in every aspect of her life. And of course, society judges her! Who can relate? There are just so many stereotypes those frustrates me. Tara is amazing at her job. She is loyal and dedicated to her friends. She loves deep, hard and fast..and gets hurt by undeserving people. I was hurting for her and I was so happy her best friends always provide her the best support. Now Rob lives a closed off life. Tara is too bright, too unpredictable, too challenging for his set ways. And that's why he pushed her away and initially refused to see her vivacious personality doesn't mean she is shallow or not dependable. Now he had the sexy bossy grumpy personality that's just too hot. The smouldering, the alpha ways, the Supreme protectiveness for his family that extended to Tara too..here comes an epic book boyfriend. The kids are an important part of the dynamics. They actually fell for Tara early because well. Kids! Rob hurt Tara and I am so proud of her for walking away. Go girl, show the man what he is missing, don't take his emotionally unavailable behaviors! But, honestly, Tara needed someone hard and solid like Rob to give her the world..to make her feel cherished..to show her that she deserves everything in this world!

Tara’s story! The 3rd in the series of very unique women and their stories of how they found love.

Tara is a complete badass ,full of confidence and is reliant on no one.

Rob is broody and broken from his divorce but needs to get someone to help him with his kids over the summer.

When Tara offers herself to be Robs helper with his kids , that’s the beginning of the fun and when these two get over their issues, the sparks fly and the wild in the title comes out!

Jeannine really brings this story full circle and you can appreciate all facets of what makes Tara and Rob so much fun to read about and then there’s the epilogue!!!

So much love for this series!

Love...It's Wild is the next gorgeous edition to the Love Explained series. And I think it might be my favorite.

Rob and Tara's story is full of pushes and pulls, refreshing banters, high tension, passion and emotions. Both have great chemistry and make it very easy to fall for them. They are absolutely made for each other. Rob and Tara couldn't be more different and yet they simply complete each other. They help each other to become the best version of themselves.

I adored Tara in the earlier books already, and now with her own story she's just... I don't know ... she's just more. She's strong, self-confident and witty. She has a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. Even at times when she crumbles, she's still strong and beautiful.

I love the connection between Rob and Tara and even more so, the connection between Tara and Rob's kids and that she wants to be the person the kids can turn to, if they feel like they don't have anyone on their side.

And I adore Rob, even though he's such a grump. But I see where this is coming from. I love the way he softens up to Tara, seeing his wall crumbling the more Tara worms her way to his heart.

So, if you love a sassy heroine falling for the grumpy single dad in a small town. If you love a good and entertaining slow burn, Love...It's Wild should be definitely your next read!

5* Wild Love Stars

I could not wait to read Tara’s story and I loved every word read. Tara was everything I hoped her to be after getting snippets of her from the previous two books in the Love Explained Series.

Tara is looking for love but has been unlucky in finding the one! When an opportunity arises for her to be a “nanny” for the summer to her friend’s brother in law’s children she does not hesitate to jump at the opportunity of getting out of town and taking the job.

I enjoyed watching Rob, who is a broody divorcee and very set in his ways get rattled and have his world turned upside down with the feisty and fun-loving Tara. She was so funny and sassy beyond words. I loved her rapport with Rob’s children and her kind and gentle nature.

I really enjoyed this slow burn romance which had some heartfelt moments to it as well as some very funny and enjoyable ones. Highly recommend this good feel story.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! I didn’t know what to expect going in and I’m thankful I took a chance on this author. This book was a slow burn, opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine romance full of intense and high tension, passion, emotions that will shatter your heart into pieces and chemistry and heat that will have you fanning yourself!

I’m not going to dive in deep and give anything away. I will say that this story is unique and will pull hard on your heartstrings throughout the book.
Tara is probably one of my favourite FMC and even though Rob was very closed off at first, as the book progressed, I started to see another side of him and I couldn’t help but fall in love with him!

I can’t wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve, because if it’s anything like this book, I need to read it!

Love...Its Wild is book three and the conclusion to the excellent Love Explained series by Jeannine Colette. We finally have the crazy Tara Parsons and her story is fabulous -I couldn't put it down as I wanted to know what she would do next. Tara is a beautiful free-spirited woman looking for her one and only but comes up against Robert Bronson, a grumpy, divorced single dad.

“A man who will break the headboard and not my heart.”

Tara is a successful accountant and kickboxing instructor. She is a feisty, single woman with a great sense of humour. At her best friend Melissa’s wedding to Will Bronson, there is an unsavoury incident and she impulsively climbs a tree to escape. Rob runs his own construction business and is father to Jesse and Molly. At his brother’s wedding, Tara literally falls into his life and everything changes. After a year of ignoring her and communicating in grunts, why did he have to be her hero.

Rob needs someone to look after his children for the summer at his ranch and Tara offers to be his nanny as she has a reason to leave town. She looked after Hunter and Izzy while Melissa and Will were on honeymoon, so insists can she look after Jesse and Molly for a whole month. He doesn’t trust anyone and isn’t convinced she is the best choice due to her reputation. Her trial day has its ups and downs but with no-one else to help, Rob has no choice and Tara starts to work her way into his life.

They have a very funny push and pull relationship. He’s moody and mean towards her especially when she pushes his buttons. She is intrigued by him and why won’t open himself up to love again. She believes in love and he certainly doesn’t, she wants to find her soulmate and he never wants to marry again so can she change his mind. She scares him because he finds her very desirable but refuses to let anything happen between them.

She has enjoyed being part of his family and learning more things about him. She is amazing with his children and Molly loves her being there. Jesse is a good kid but is currently a moody teenager whose friends are leading him astray. Her ideas at trying to rebuild his relationship with his dad were great. I loved how she baked to give herself time to think things through when frustrated or angry. It gets very steamy when they finally give into their feelings and he can’t resist her anymore. I laughed at how they both struggled being in a relationship.

“You’re broody, and I’m hopeful. You’re mean, and I’m crazy. You’re supposed to push me away, and I run as fast as I can because that’s who we are.”

The gossip in the Bronson households was hilarious because everyone could see what was happening out at the ranch except those involved. Glad Will gave him some home truths and told him about Tara’s fantastic confrontation with his ex-wife. If you’ve read the previous books then you will pleased with the good news for both Melissa and Jillian.

Events with Jesse have consequences and when secrets are revealed Rob builds his walls back up. Tara has waited patiently for her HEA so is he worth it or should she quit. It was so emotional when he finds out what his kids have been up and the reasons behind it. What she had done for him. He is so romantic and sweet at the end but I’m glad she still gets her mean version of Rob!!

I want to be Tara when I grow up. That woman is crazy but in the best sense. She's been searching for her true love and hasn't been all that successful. But she's not letting that get her down. Rob has had his dream of HEA shattered by his ex wife. He doesn't believe in love anymore, but something about Tara is driving him up the wall. The push and pull between the two was perfect. I have no words for the banter. Her understanding and love for kids just shows how special she is.

But getting through to the sexy grumpy man is proving to be an impossible mission. And when he pushes too hard, she retreats. Which leaves him to ponder, is he going to be able to move on or is going to see that the HEA he thought was gone for him, was right there in front of him in a small, sassy, crazy but loving package. He only needs to grab it and never let go.

These two were my favorite couple so far. I was intrigued from start to finish, turning the pages to see who would snap first and then yelling for them to finally admit that they were there for each other. I can't wait to pick up the next book Jeannine because this was an awesome read.

I had the opportunity to read the ARC in return for my honest thoughts/opinions from wordsmith publicity.

Tara, she’s a woman that knows her self worth and spreads her confidence everywhere she goes. She believes in a happily ever after, even after the person she was supposed to marry got cold feet.

Robert, he’s grumpy and seems to avoid Tara every time. He’s a divorced single dad and doesn’t believe in love, but that doesn’t stop Tara from pushing his buttons and talking him into trusting her to be his kids’ nanny for the summer. What will happen when she’s most likely going to fall in love with a man that could possibly break her heart?

What to expect:
• funny, sassy heroine
• grumpy single dad
• small town romance
• dual pov
• slow burn

“𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘐 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶.”

I’ve fallen in love with this series and all of the characters! I haven’t read many single dad romances but it’s definitely become a favorite. The angst and banter is perfect, and made me giggle every once in a while. 🤭 This was such a cute small town romance and I definitely recommend anyone starting this series or reading this as a stand-alone!

What a fabulous read! Starring a strong, intelligent, beautiful woman, Tara, and an ultra grumpy, communication challenged and emotionally suspicious man, Rob, Jeannine Colette has written a hugely witty, warm, clever and emotionally mature book which gripped me from the start. Tara is successful professionally, honestly, and kind. She would like to augment the other aspects of her life with a loving, rewarding relationship. In Rob, she has one heck of a challenge! The walls guarding his bruised heart have strong locks attached to any chinks, but trust our girl! Her wit and emotional honesty are not to be withstood by the sturdiest of barriers.
I loved Tara's relationship with both Jesse and Molly, Rob's children. Her understanding and empathetic nature are just what these two wonderful young people need in their lives. Her honesty, strength, and courage make her able to value her own worth, and I loved the author for bringing us such a delightful heroine. I also loved that big, daft lug of a man, Rob. He's lucky to have met Tara and to have her in his life. I am not saying he is not worthy of her, but he definitely needs to stop standing in his own way on many fronts. Fabulous book! 💖💖💖💖💖

Love … It’s Wild but in the best way. This book, the 3rd in the Love Explained Series, is a wild ride. It’s one I wasn’t able to put down. It was just such a fun read. The witty banter, sexual tension, crazy chemistry and unexpected emotion took me on such a fun journey.

Robert Bronson, or Rob, is a divorced single dad struggling with his life. He’s sullen, angry and given up on love so much so that he tends to push everyone away. Tara is his exact opposite. She’s fiercely independent, smart, witty and looking for her forever man. But she also tends to run when things aren’t perfect.

Rob has been intrigued by Tara from the moment he met her and because of that also avoided her. Their worlds have intersected many times before she volunteered to be his summer nanny. As they get to know each other better, Tara’s sassy wit slowly begins to brighten Rob’s darkness. Their banter and Tara’s wit had me laughing so many times. What I loved the most was that the very things Rob’s ex criticized him for were the very things Tara adored. It was beautiful to see how that slowly healed him.

One of my favorite things about Tara were her interactions with Rob’s kids. She was a safe space for them to be themselves as well and it was lovely to see them blossom around her.

I loved this book so much I practically consumed it. It was such a joy to read. Rob and Tara’s oppositeness was the very thing that made them perfect for each other. It's a testament to great writing when you find yourself smiling, laughing and crying all in the same book.

Five stars! While I loved the other two books in this series, the author definitely saved the best for last. I love everything about this book--Tara, Robert, Jesse, Molly, the castle...

Tara is a confident, independent, smart woman. At 36 years old, she is seen as a woman looking for love and kind of has a reputation around town. She has a great sense of humor and the things that come out of her mouth are quite hilarious. She has also had some hurt in her life--including being left on her wedding day. When her ex and his new family and children move back to the small town, she needs to get out of town for a while.

Robert Bronson is aloof, grumpy and a divorced dad of two. She doesn't really know him as he always runs the other way in her presence. He needs a nanny for his daughter for the summer and Tara offers to help. Their chemistry is electric, but Rob won't act on it and tells it to Tara's face. He thinks he has nothing to offer her. His confidence is lacking due to his ex-wife.

I loved watching these two opposites try to live together and trust each other. (mostly for Rob). Their banter back and forth was entertaining and at times, sexy. A slow burn romance between them that was so necessary.

Thank you to Wordsmith Publicity and the author for the advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I think this was my favorite of the series! In Love...It's Complicated I laughed so hard at the opening scene I was seriously texting my sister telling her about it. In Love... It's Messy I fell in love with Luke and his broken soul. But in Love...It's wild I just loved every part of it. I loved the chemistry between them, the push and pull and Tara's sassy ass.

Definitely read the whole series!!

Tara's story is my absolute favorite of this series. I do love all the angst that Jeannine Colette normally brings us, but until Tara's visit to the ranch, I didn't know how much I needed Tara's wildness and sass and wit. I needed humor and got it just when I needed it. This story was a breath of fresh air, championing women and those who love and respect them. The power of strong friendships and the importance of self-confidence. There were lessons taught and learned and not only by children.

I loved this one so much! The characters were great! I loved Tara’s personality, she was so funny and was never afraid to be herself! I also loved the bond that Tara had made with Rob’s children! Rob was my favorite kind of MMC- grumpy and distant. He made it seem as if he had no interest whatsoever in Tara, but I loved getting his POV and finding that he had always found her to be beautiful. This story was incredibly sweet with some good spice 😉 and a lot of feel good moments! Definitely one you need to add to your TBR!

Love...It's Wild is the third book in the Love Explained series and my personal favourite. We have Rob, a grumpy single parent and Tara, our sassy heroine who volunteers to be his childrens' nanny, so they move to his ranch and the result is delightful banter and amazing chemistry surrounded by teenage drama and angst.

This series has been one of the best I’ve read all year and I’m really hoping there’s more to come. While this one wasn’t my favorite, I still really enjoyed watching Tara and Rob’s love story unfold. They were total opposites but complemented each other so well.

ARC Review

This book was perfection, I loved Rob and Tara, they may have had different views when it came to love, Tara was looking for the one she would spend the rest of her life with and Rob was a single dad that had given up on love. The development of their relationship was brilliantly written, they seem to have had connection from the moment they met and I enjoyed the banter between them, and this banter made me smile. I loved the connection that Tara formed with Jesse and Molly, she was good with them. I loved the slow burn nature of Tara and Rob's relationship because they had too overcome Rob's reservations about felling in love again. I will definitely be reading more books by Jeannine Colette.

As with all of Jeannine's stories, there is a real and raw feeling to their love stories. Tara and Rob are opposites in several ways: Tara is looking for the right guy and has no qualms about her needs, and Rob is a divorced father who had no desire to go down that path again. They should not be compatible in any way, but they set each other ablaze when they are near each other.

I loved Tara and Rob individually and as a couple. Tara loves fiercely and wholeheartedly, and the way she took care of Molly and Jesse was beautiful. Rob was the quiet protector, and I loved seeing his soft side.

Jeannine Colette delivers a wildly entertaining, single dad & nanny, grumpy/sunshine romance that delivers in angst, humor and genuine connections.

What I loved about Love...It's Wild:

1. Tara! I liked her before even reading her story. I'm completely obsessed with her now after reading. She's smart. She's witty. She's comfortable and confident in her body. And, she's not afraid to tell it how it is. Tara Parsons is a freaking powerhouse.

One of my favorite things about a Jeannine Colette book is how well developed her characters are. She does a great job of crafting these fierce, strong-willed, and stubborn at times characters and then layering them with vulnerability, insecurities and/or fears. We see that with Tara which I really appreciate.

2. The blossoming romance between a firecracker woman, who even after being left at the alter years ago still so badly wants her happily ever after, and a man so jaded after his failed marriage that he no longer believes in HEA and has built a wall surrounding his heart. The chemistry between Tara and Rob is just so incredible. I would say the best chemistry of all the couples in this series. Their banter and their push and pull generated the most delicious, slow-burning tension that had me absolutely glued to my kindle.

3. The rebuilding of the relationship between Rob and his 16 year old son, Jesse. I'm a sucker for a man who loves his kids and wants to be with them.

In this case, while there was a lot of love, there was also a lot of hurt and mistrust. So, I really enjoyed seeing Jesse and Rob get to a place of understanding of each other's feelings. With Tara's help of course.

4. The dynamic between Tara and the kids. I loved their bonds. The way Molly instantly gravitated to Tara. Or the way Jesse went to her when he was in trouble. You could feel the mutual affection.

I could probably go on and on. Love...It's Wild is just a really good book. It made me laugh. Made me swoon. Maybe even brought a tear to my eye. It's my new favorite in the Love Explained series.

Loved it!

I knew I was going to love Tara's book but this grumpy sunshine had me hooked! Of this series, Tara was the one who knew exactly what she did and did not want. Being left at the altar will leave you that way. What she didn't expect was falling out of an oak tree after her besties wedding while pleading to the moon to send her Prince Charming. She also didn't expect to fall into grumpy, recently divorced brother of the groom - Robert Bronson.

As a woman who's dated for years trying to find Mr. Right, she's acquired an unwanted / untrue reputation, so being propositioned for a threesome at a wedding was the reason she found herself in that tree. The oldest Bronson has avoided Tara at all costs, but her allure keeps him interested even with the fear he possesses from his previous relationship. When he needs a babysitter for the summer, Tara the kid whisperer throws her hat in the ring.

Apprehensive about it, Bronson agrees. These two press each others buttons and create a team that works. They both call each other out, but Tara brings the kids out of their post divorce funk. With the promise of "this can't happen" Tara and Rob skate the lines of what's appropriate until they can't anymore. Their catapult from frienemies to lovers is a natural transition. However, the need for them both to be right in their convictions threaten everything.

One grand gesture of an apology and showing up as promised gets them back on track and leads Tara and Rob and their makeshift family to a beautiful HEA. Tara's book was undoubtedly my favorite. She's this kick ass woman that knows what she wants and Rob is this grumpy, grunty, mountain of a man who is quite bossy. This is a series that kept me reading until I'd read all of them and by all means, don't forget the bonus epilogues!

Rob is divorced from his wife of 16 years and is leery of love. He got burned when his wife left him, and he has no desire to be that vulnerable again. His mother speculates on Tara’s status, so Rob knows to stay far away from the ‘desperate’ Tara. However, after a run-in with a creep at a wedding, Tara is feeling raw and reverts back to her childhood soothing mechanism, and climbs a tree in her bridesmaid’s finery. She almost falls out of the tree when it’s time to get down, and Rob somehow catches her. They talk a bit, but Rob makes it clear that she’s not for him and he’s not for her. Tara also has an encounter with her ex-fiancé, and his new family. Fast forward a bit, and Rob’s ex-wife wants to travel with her new significant other (Rob’s ex-best friend) and wants the kids (16 and 10) to stay with him over the summer, but he needs someone to keep an eye on them. Yep—Tara wants the job to escape seeing her ex in town. She and Rob and his kids spend a bunch of time together and learn that preconceived notions don’t always tell the whole story…There are lots of ups and downs and a few arguments and misconceptions, but they generally work well together. And the kids trust her.

This book has some really funny parts; a few awkward moments; and a delightful ending. Tara is strong and confident most of the time, and that rubs off on the people she spends time with. Rob has his insecurities and a few quirks, but he has a good heart and he means well—even if it comes across as gruff. This is an energetic story with a quirky couple at its core, but they are fun to read! There’s a strong sense of friendship, community, and family throughout the series. This book and the entire series are worth reading!

I loved this book right from the start! I felt like I was stepping on to the set of one of my favorite rom-com movies. The visuals were crystal clear and the sass was off the charts!

Robert Bronson is a super grouchy single dad who no longer believes in love. Tara is his complete opposite in almost every way. She is sunshine and rainbows, glitter and total sassiness, but all in a sparkly way that makes Rob turn in the opposite direction every time he sees her. Poor Rob and his perpetual cloud of doom and gloom, but don't worry his grumpy face can't help but smirk, at least a little, when Tara is around.

Tara is so funny, her sassy comments continually had me snorting, but then mix in her wisdom and insight as the eternal aunt to everyone's kids and I had a major girl crush going on . Tara has this beautiful insight about children and I constantly found myself agreeing to all of her parenting moments. I was nodding along and highlighting passages, as I was transported back to times with my own kids when I needed those words of advice myself. Tara is quite the beautiful woman wrapped up in this eclectic, smart character.

These two opposites were so much fun to read and their chemistry was off the charts even when they didn't know it was flowing between them. I adored it!! This book is fun, quirky, and contained so many laugh out loud moments, how can I add to that statement, except to say that this book was a complete joy to read and Colette is a brilliant writer for building the perfect love story that will carry a lasting impact. I couldn’t have loved this book more.

This book, y'all!

We've met Tara Parsons in previous novels, and I was so excited to finally read her story! She's the fun aunt to her friends' kids and is in search of her own forever love. I certainly envy the woman's self confidence and gusto with which she approaches the dating life. Of course, when her ex arrives in town with his new family in tow, she is more than eager to distance herself from him and the town for a while.

A couple of run-ins with her best friend Melissa's new brother-in-law, Rob Bronson, provides her with that opportunity. Rob needs someone to look after his kids for a month while he works and his ex-wife is on vacation, and Tara wouldn't mind the time to regroup away from her ex.

Y'all know I love my single dads, and Rob is the perfect grumpy, protective dad, which was in such contrast with Tara's vibrant, no-filter personality. I was laughing throughout this book, and I swear I highlighted almost everything that left Tara's mouth. I simply adored Tara and the way she interacted with the kids, pushing them to grow their self worth and their relationships with their dad.

Rob had been burned once and had no desire to ever get in another relationship, but his defenses couldn't hold against Tara's antics. The slow burn was delicious, and I loved how they slowly opened up and shared vulnerabilities with each other. This was just a wonderfully fun read and an amazing addition to the series. I was thoroughly entertained throughout!

Two major things made me read this book, the author, of course, and the blurb.
I love a single dad romance and this book had it all.
Jeannine Colette is an amazing author and her books are simply magnificent.
She Knows how to push all of my buttons and make me even more eager to read more and more.
She's amazing and you guys should give her a chance.
Love…It's Wild is her latest release and it's the third book from the Love Explained series.
And this series is freaking amazing.
This book explores the lives of Tara and Robert.
Tara is as feisty as they come. She's a successful accountant and kickboxing instructor, so you can see she's not a damsel in distress.
She knows what she wants and will do everything she can to achieve it, and because of that, she's wrongly judged…
But one betrayal sends her away from home and into a ranch…
Robert is a single dad and a closed-off guy.
He doesn't trust anyone and when this feisty woman offers to look after his kids…
Oh my… this book just became my favorite this year.
I've loved Tara from the other books from this series and I knew that this book would make me love her more.
I loved the story so freaking much that I saw myself cursing when it ended.
These two are like water and oil, unmixable but sometimes fate has other ideas.
This story is full of push and pull, love and hate situations and I'm so happy to read it.
And the hot stuff… Oh boy.
And I'm gonna shut up because I won't spoil.
Another masterpiece Jeannine. You nailed it once again.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

In this book, the third friend gets her story. Tara, prone to mischief and shenanigans, is close friends with Melissa and Jillian. She's childfree, in that she doesn't need a kid of her own, but dotes on her friends' children. Her vivacious and carefree attitude have earned her a bit of a reputation, though, which sometimes bites her in the ass.

At Melissa's wedding, she has an unexpected run-in with the groom's older, brooding brother, Rob. He's gruff where she is bubbly and outgoing, and he finds her outlook on life immature and annoying.

In an unexpected twist of fate, Rob is in desperate need of someone to look after his children for the summer, while Tara is desparete for an escape from her small town, with the return of the ex who broke her heart as well as her trust in men.

Rob and Tara both have trust issues, but where Tara is willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, Rob tends to push them away. Being in such close proximity for the better part of a summer is bound to raise tensions and boy... do they!

While Tara gets close to his children, she slowly breaks down Rob's walls. The growing attraction between our couple doesn't hurt either.

I enjoyed this book very much. The only thing that bothered me, as a happily childfree woman myself, was that Tara being childfree has more to do with her ex. HEA doesn't necessarily have to involve a baby, is all...

POLAR OPPOSITES ATTRACT!

Free spirited Tara Parsons is still looking for love and happily ever after. She is getting older and after being left at the altar years ago by her ex who thought she wasn't the settling down type, she has dated frequently and never had another long term relationship. She still holds out hope but is beginning to believe there is no man who can handle her crazy. I loved Tara; a friend to all, helping raise all her friends' children, always there for anyone who needed anything, the biggest heart of all.

Rob Bronson is a single dad to Molly, 10, and Jesse, 16. His brother is married to Tara's best friend and they have been around each other a lot but Rob has always ignored Tara. When Tara needs to get out of town for a while and Rob needs someone to watch his kids over the summer, Tara offers her services to help. Against his better judgement, Rob agrees.

Serious no-nonsense Rob and carefree impulsive Tara have polar opposite parenting ideas and butt heads at every turn. But the sexual chemistry between them is palpable and the more they both fight it, the more their defenses come down. I loved watching the relationship grow between Tara and the kids as well as Tara enchanting Rob. Her defense of him in the restaurant had me cheering! I loved this book and you will too!

3.5 stars

This book gave me runaway bride energy meets grumpy single dad ranch fantasy, and honestly? I devoured it like fresh peach pie at a county fair.

Our FMC? A queen who knows her worth and refuses to stand around watching her ex play “happy husband, new wife, who dis?” Absolutely not.. she packs her bags and YEETS herself into a new life.

Enter: Robert Bronson.

Grumpy, broody, cowboy-adjacent, single dad, emotionally barricaded, looks like he chops wood for fun… that guy. And of course he “doesn’t believe in happily ever after” because why make this easy?

She becomes his kid’s nanny and immediately starts pushing all his buttons and some very non PG ones too.

The chemistry? Immediate.
The tension? Thick enough to slice with a butter knife.
The vibes? Summer dress + cowboy boots + frustratingly attractive single dad. Yes, chef.

The book is spicy, swoony, heartfelt, messy in all the right ways, and full of those “I should walk away… but oops I tripped and fell into his bed again” moments that I live for.

If you like:
• grumpy/sunshine
• ranch romance
• single dad softness hidden under gruffness
• heroines who KNOW they deserve real love
• steamy tension + emotional glow ups
…this book delivers exactly that.

A fun, fast, feel good ride with just enough angst to keep things interesting. 💗🤠
